The passporter is a great tool for any disney vacation. It has all the info you need to plan your trip and guide you when your there. it also is a great keepsake as you have folders in the back to keep a log of your trip. Loaded with maps, resort information and lay outs. Park maps with reviews on every ride and restaurant. Some of the reviews i find a bit silly but everyone has there opinion. Will bring the world of Disney to you.

This is the best WDW guidebook for planning and organizing your vacation at Walt Disney World. It reviews and rates all the attractions at all the resorts, as well as all the resorts and restaurants. The maps are very useful. Of all the WDW guide books, this one is best at helping you prioritize each day of your trip.

I've bought a few books for our upcoming WDW trip, and this one has by far the most detailed maps that I've seen. It shows where the restaurants are, the bathrooms, shopping areas, etc. so you can get yourself well-oriented with the layout of the parks before actually getting there. As far as the whole WDW complex, the map is not too bad, but I've been looking at google earth for that kind of detailed information - the proximity from the hotels to the different parks, where the toll plazas and parking lots are - things of that nature. This book doesn't have extremely detailed touring plans - just some general guidelines, but still a lot of very helpful information. It has some good tips and info regarding the dining plan - the breakdown of prices, which I thought was very useful because then you can straight up compare how much money you are actually "saving" if you choose to purchase the Disney Dining Plan. And it has a little journal where you can keep records/memories of your trip, and it's spiral bounded, which I love. So if your looking for planning info, it's great, but if you've already planned and want actual touring plans, you might be happier with a different purchase.

Loved this book. A must have if you are going to Disney for the first time or for the 100th time. Gave me lots of inside advice, great restaurant reviews, which were right on, and the maps were so much better than the ones you get at Disney. This is a must have. I will get a new one each time I go to Disney. I suggest getting it as eary as you can as it was so much fun to read and review before the trip. Made the vacation feel longer than just one week for me . . . .

I have 4 Disney books, and this one is the ONLY one that gives a complete guide to everything Disney! It's packed with SO much information and has helped me tremendously with the planning of our up-coming trip! You don't need any other book! (This is the small version that you can carry with you to the parks, they do offer a larger one that I wish I had known about first)

What a great way to get information and stay organized. Wish this book was available during the last 10 times, I've been to Walt Disney World. It's going to be a great collector's item for my kids. Keep in mind though that you may still need some of the other Walt Disney Books that are available. To list a few: Birnbaum's Walt Disney World Dining Guide, Birnbaum's Walt Disney World for Kids by Kids, Birnbaum's Walt Disney without Kids, Frommer's Walt Disney World & Orlando, The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World and Walt Disney World Resort & Orlando. No matter how many times a person goes to Disney World there's still new information available that will save you lots of aggravation when you arrive in Orlando.

When planning our trip I have bought just about every book I could find about Walt Disney World. I have to say that the Passporter is the best. They put just the right amount of information. I found the section called "Feasting" very helpful in choosing the restaurants for my family. Also, I like that it has places to write your itinerary and other info needed such as reservation numbers.

I was planning my family's first trip to Disney. I wanted to get the most out of our vacation, so I purchased 3 Disney travel books: Birnbaum's, The Unofficial Guide, and Passporter's. Passporter's was by far the best!!!!!! It has all the information you need about restaurants (good luck finding much information elsewhere!) and the maps were far superior to the ones handind out by Disney! I had to rip them out of the book to use them while we were in the parks because the Disney ones were hard to follow. It was a priceless addition that helped with our trip so much! Don't hesitate to buy!

This is the best Walt Disney World Book out there!

I will admit that I have to buy every book available when planning a trip. I need to know all of the information and make sure I hit the best spots. Well, for WDW, this is the best that there is!

I love how it is "interactive" and I can easily make notes, keep other papers in here in the folders, add stickers (yes, they have stickers and even tabs), and keep track of my plans, budget, whatever you can think of!

There are incredible tips, lots of different viewpoints, and just a perfect amount of information. The web site they compliments the book wonderfully, too.

I highly recommend this book for any WDW planners!

This is the single best informational resource on Walt Disney World! And it doubles as a scrapbooking resource and diary for your trip! My wife and I each took one with us for our trip this year. It had all of the updated information we needed for the Disney parks, hotels and eateries. We could store our brochures, tickets and informational material gathered for later scrapbooking and we were able to keep a daily log of our activities. It helped us preserve our daily memories while helping us organize for each day too.

My fiance and I received the 2007 version of this book for our trip to WDW in August of 2007. It's absolutely indespensible for planning your trip with excellent descriptions of everything and tips for young and old alike. It also helps document your trip on a daily basis as it gives you a sort of journal to fill in the blanks and spaces to write short paragraphs about your daily activities.

We're planning on making another trip to WDW this year and have already purchased the 2008 version!

(Hide Review...)  Great planner / organizer and lightweight quick reference
Reviewer Permalink
I recently rush-ordered this book when having to plan a trip to Walt Disney World on very short notice.

Not only did this book make the planning a lot simpler and efficient, but it was also a great way for me to organize my trip once I was there, to get the most out of my time.

While I'd taken out the usual Fodor's and Frommer's guides from the library, I found them too packed with information, and it was hard to quickly find the specific information that I needed to know at any given moment.

That's where this product shined.

Light enough to easily carry in a backpack, constructed in a way that makes it easy to hold and quickly flip through, and easy to stuff additional papers inside (such as daily itineraries and notes) - the PassPorter guide was just the trick. It was a snap for me to quickly find what I needed when I needed it.

Stick a pen in the binding loops, and some sticky tabs on a few keys pages, and you're ready to go.

The kind of things that I found very useful were the quick listings of park attractions (about a paragraph long description for each attraction or ride), with simple icons and color coding, and little things like the quick reference pages, telling you basic things like how to easily get from each park / resort / dinner theater event to another in the Walt Disney World grounds. (In other words, the kind of things you want to know quickly on the spot)

Some parts were not so useful once you'd already planned your trip (for example, the whole section on accomodations was rather moot for me, since I'd already booked my hotel).

But overall - it's a nice companion to the more in-depth guides, like Fodor's and Frommer's, without the information overload.

This is the kind of book that you'll mark up as you go, checking off where you've been, and not feel bad about it.

I have purchased several travel guides for Walt Disney World over the years, and this one is an absolute MUST HAVE! The travel worksheets are great tools for planning your "magical" vacation, and the tips are invaluable! However, I believe what sets this book apart from the rest of the travel companions out there are the pockets for your tickets, receipts, etc. If you are a scrapbooker like me, this book makes it easy for you to journal each day's highlights for future reference. The handy pockets keep all your mementos together, so when you get ready to scrapbook your vacation everything is right there in the book!

Prior to our family's trip to DisneyWorld in late January, I purchased PassPorter's Walt Disney World 2008 as a guide. It had tons of valuable information about the parks, including a description of every ride and attraction, with a ratings of each. Good information about the resorts and dining opportunities along with tips to make it all work was very helpful. We used the maps of the parks to help us decide where to go and what to do. A good purchase!

A very interesting and informative book, although, it didn't really help me as much as others because I had already purchased my Disney vacation. I was looking for tips and hints on how to make the trip better and a lot of the book is the planning of your trip (ie. where to stay, to fly or drive, properties on and off Disney property, etc.). It did help me though with it's detailed info on Disney attractions, restaurants and shopping. Still very worth the money as it's priced right.

(Hide Review...)  PassPorter 2008: Buy Early in Planning your Trip / The WDW guide we used most
Reviewer Permalink
We recently returned from a trip to the "World" and per usual habits, packed almost as many travel books as clothes. On our "do over" we could have done with this one, perhaps one competing view and, finally, but indispensably a PassPorter sister book "The PassPorter Open Mouse" PassPorter's Open Mouse for Walt Disney World and the Disney Cruise Line: Easy Access Vacations for Travelers with Extra Challenges (PassPorter)

As the primary "Guide Book Packer and Reader" for the family, here are my reasons for recommending the PassPorter WDW 2008:
1)Sections and information are well organized, easily accessed and clearly identified.
This is a "must" in a WDW guidebook as you will likely be juggling the guidebook with a child/children, a water bottle, a spouse/partner/friend, a balloon..Etc ..(you get the idea...)

2)The length and depth of the sections of information are "Goldilocks Length"...Not too long, not too short, but just right!
Seriously, and more specifically, the authors get to the point up front in each well marked section, give you the information you need and then expand on the information for further reading when and if you have the time.
****(See notes on reading this guidebook ahead of your trip, below)

3) The "keeper pockets" actually DO come in handy.
When I bought this book I had no interest in the handy little "keepsake" pockets...the authors suggest storing receipts, mementos, etc, in these. I thought that we would never use these...but it turns out we did. Of course not for the all important (your vacation is down the drain without these...lock them away!) entry cards...but other items (FastPasses that somehow came home and weren't used....a few receipts...a few "doodads"). When I looked in the pockets when we came home I even found that my husband had stored a few things in them..keeping stuff for him is almost unheard of! If you are into scrapbooking (real paper or electronic) you can come home with some neat things to include (scan the items for computer based scrapbooking...)

4) This "mainstream" PassPorter does include a few helpful things for the WDW "guest" with special needs. However for you (us!)..I'd definitely recommend the sister book "Open Mouse" (see link above). And remember, the authors define special needs extremely broadly...so it's likely many visitors will find the "Open Mouse" helpful. Topics include visitor needs do to both physical and emotional differences as well as differences in thinking or cognitive processes...decreased agility, physical "disability", easily fatigued, diabetes, pregnancy and fertility, ADD/ADHD, sun-sensitivity, autism-spectrum disorders, etc.

Now, to my few "wishes" or things that I wish that the authors had done differently or that I would change (had I managed to get that magic wand Tinkerbelle insists on hoarding!):

1)Although I do believe that the authors are independent of Disney and they state that they are...I sometimes felt that I was reading the "Disney line" in the book.
I'm going to give the authors the benefit of the doubt and ascribe this to "accidental" mimicry. But I do wish that the authors were a bit less careful with their opinions and gave a bit more of the "inside scoop". That said, some guides I read seemed to be so much of an "outside" perspective that some misstated information and included basic "facts" that were wrong.
2) The book is most helpful for first time visitors and/or visitors very early in the planning of their Disney World vacation.
I suppose I could have torn out the sections about accommodations that we weren't going to use once we were there...but if you are like me you can't stand to "rip up" a book.
Actually the fact that the book is most valuable early in the vacation planning process reflects more on the realistic aspects about a vacation to the "World" and not on the author's choice of what to include. The real deal is that the WDW vacationer gets the most out of planning their trip as far in advance as possible. Then, this guides information about accommodations, meal plans, etc. will be most valuable. Plus the visitor will likely find the best deals, most options open to them, etc, the earlier they make their "reservations".
***Plus, if you don't want to disappoint your little Princesses or Princes or even yourself or your other adult group members, you will need to make some "reservations" for the most sought after Disney dining or other types of experiences (Hint: Disney "Princess" Breakfasts in the "Castle") exactly 180 days in advance of your stay...the very first minute you are able to do so with a confirmed Disney reservation.---
..but, you can read all about that in this guide.
>>Get it as soon as you as even thinking about visiting WDW and please don't wait for the 2009 copy if you are planning later in 2008..you need it when you are planning!

I bought this book for my boyfriend because he's going to WDW for the first time in just a few days! (Of course, I couldn't resist thumbing through it before I gifted it. That's our secret, OK?) As an ex-WDW Cast Member, I have a tendency to affect an air of superiority when reading guides to WDW, and therefore judge them pretty harshly. Much to my surprise, I absolutely loved this guide! It's the perfect length and organized extremely well. Also, the book itself is perfectly designed for theme park use. Though a bit on the large side, it has pockets for stashing trip mementos, an elastic to keep it closed, fold-out maps for the directionally challenged, and a (relatively) water-resistant cover. The spiral binding is perfect for an interactive travel guide like this (since it lays flat, it's easier to write in!) and the pages are easily written on.

The reviews are concise and well-written. Each attraction/hotel/etc. features ratings from several different reviewers so you can base your decisions off of someone with tastes similar to your own, which is a very helpful feature. Because it's an unofficial guide, the reviews are straightforward and honest (even when they're unflattering), which is refreshing. Even though I've spent a LOT of time at Disney's parks, I still found myself reading every review because, well, they're interesting!

Also be sure to check out Passporter's website because it's full of great information to complement your Passporter guide--another great feature seldom found in other guides!

All in all, this book will undoubtedly serve you better than other guides. While other guides will be outdated and discarded in a year, you will no doubt find yourself holding onto your Passporter because it's more than just a guide--it's a memento from your trip that will fit on your bookshelf! I can't wait to give it to my boyfriend ;)

I've been purchasing new Passporters for each trip since 2001, and each new edition gets better and better! Love all the details on each resort, park, attraction and restaurant. The best source for current information, and readers can access the most recent updates on their website. Plus the pockets in the back are extremely handy for keeping track of receipts, small keepsakes, etc.

I have owned the spiral version and usually just buy updates for my Deluxe binder. It's my favorite.

This is my Disney World Bible! I keep all of my important travel documents in it and love to read it daily.

This year we bought two Disney guides, this one and The Complete Guide to Walt Disney World 2008. They were both awesome! The Passporter has all these little pockets to store stuff (very handy for a pack rat like me!) and the Complete guide has lots of great information to read. My favorite parts of the books was that this one was written by two girls, or at least a lot of it was! For every ride they say whether or not it was cool. Goodto know! The Complete Guide I loved cuz it gave me lots of things to look for, like Fun Finds and Hidden Mickeys!

We read about 6 books on WDW - several were very good but this one was absolutely the best.

1 - the information was accurate. This is MUCH more than I can say for the best selling WDW Guide for folks with kids.
2 - there were dozens of useful recommendations regarding fright factors for rides and attractions that helped us a great deal with two small children.
3 - the planning materials were very nice and its format made it useful inside the park as well as before we went.

I LOVE this organizer for our vacation. The maps are fold out and very detailed and the suggestions for our stay were right on. There are little pockets in the back of the book by day so you could put tickets and other memories of the day for safe keeping. Also there is a giant elastic band to keep the book from opening and everything can not fall out. I HIGHLY recommend this if you like to be organized!
