I was hoping that this cookbook had more traditional american take-out recipes, but was disappointed to see too many exotic recipes for my taste.

I was really excited about this getting this book, but I have to say it is not my favorite. First, after using the book just a few times, the binding has cracked - one of the reasons I prefer the binder style cookbook. Also, one of the most common reasons I get take out is because its quick. None of these recipes are really quick. You can also find many of these recipes in other ww cookbooks. Since I got it for such a great price, its not that big of a deal, but there are definately better weight watchers or healthy cooking cookbooks to choose from.

Easy recipes and most use everyday ingredients. Taste so good even my kids like it, especially skinny chimi's and brocolli beef.

Great book, lots of flavor in most recipes. So far I've tried most and all but two were keepers. The only thing is the ingrediants are not what you would normally keep on hand but if you follow the shopping list in each section and put them in your pantry you'll be set. The best thing about this book is that the recipes are quick, easy, low in calories and taste delicious. I find that most of the recipes taste like the restaurant dishes without the high calories.

It is one of the best Weight Watchers cookbooks I have bought. The recipes are easy to follow and they taste just like what you would buy out at restaurants. All the points are there also so you know you are following the program.

The Take Out cookbook is a good one - the recipes reflect favorite take-out foods from different ethnic cuisines (Chinese, Italian, Mexican, Indian, etc.) and are super simple. I made the Broccoli with Garlic Sauce recipe from the Chinese section, and though I did have to stock up on a few "exotic" ingredients like rice wine and oyster sauce, the end result was delicious and only 2 points! Definitely one to get.

The recipes in this cookbook are quite tasty, but the portions are skimpy!! There's no way I would be satisfied with one portion of these recipes.
If you get this cookbook, prepare to eat tiny portions of the meals you fix and a huge bowl of salad to stay within a reasonable amount of calories but also get full. And I am not a big eater - I usually eat about 350-400 calories for dinner, but I make my calories go far by preparing healthy food that is low-cal. This cookbook is beautiful, but misleading once you realize how small the portions are. Bummer. (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-07-19 11:34:50 EST)

I love this cookbook. There are lots of delicious recipes, and they taste so great that even those who are not watching their weight will love them. There are lots of very different options, and none of the recipes I have made so far are too difficult or too time-consuming.

I bought this book on line because of the recommendations and I haven't been disappointed. Honestly, the recipes have been tasty and the break from the usual same old, same old has been great. There is no getting around the fact that you need to make friends with fruit and vegetables. That being said, my husband and I have found these recipes to be very palatable. My husband has lost weight happily, and with no effort. I am on his hero list. Yes, there were some new ingredients to be bought and added to the pantry, but I find I use them frequently now and I am even getting brave enough to experiment with some of them on my own.
I heartily recommend the book. (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-06-25 09:02:11 EST)

I received this book as a gift, and am buying another to give to a family member. Fast, easy recipes that the whole family will love. I've tried almost all of the recipes, and haven't had one that wasn't delicious. Nice to have easy, points-friendly recipies, that my husband and kids ask for. I also quit drinking coffee after I read this fascinating book on amazon called the `T_r_u_t_h about C_a_f_f_e_i_n_e.' I have no more heartburn in the morning and after several weeks I have seen changes in my mood. I am more relaxed and calm. Almost like a new person. The book was amazing!

Yum! I bought this cookbook a few months ago, and have sampled quite a few of the recipes and they are all 5-star! I have been on WW since August of 2006 and this cookbook makes it SO much easier to have tasty food that you WANT to eat, and stay on plan as well. I've been eating merrily, and dropping pounds, so life is GOOD! What makes it even better is that my boyfriend, who is quite the food connoseiur, loves it too! He actually only makes recipes out of this book now, not only to make me happy but because he genuinely likes them. If you are in the mood for Chinease or Pizza there is no need to waste 20+ points at the take out place, just open up this book, put some love into your cooking, and you will be much happier for it :o)

I bought this book because my roommate is on the Weight Watchers program and I like to eat healthy. Little did I know that I would make recipes out of this book at least once a week. My boyfriend loves the Orange Chicken and the General Taos Chicken too. These recipes are so much healthier than what you would get ordering from the local chinese restraunt.

As an avid cook who enjoys entertaining, I have made several dishes from this cookbook and to date, none of my guests have been able to tell the difference. I also follow Weight Watchers (I've lost 30lbs since Jan 1, 2007 and still going strong) and what I love about the concept of this cookbook is that WW has reinvented many of our favourite take-out or order-in restaurant foods that we can make at home, enjoy and above all, not feel guilty afterwards. The General Tso Chicken in the Chinese Classics section is delicious! If you're craving Mexican, try the Chipotle Chicken & Rice...you'll love it. I love cooking Indian dishes so the Cucumber Raita, Shrimp Vindaloo and Tandoori Chicken are all hits in my household. Honestly, it may sound too good to be true but each of these dishes are 8 Points or less per serving and don't taste any less authentic than those dishes prepared in the restaurants. Go ahead and order this book. As the editor writes, "with Take-Out Tonight, there's really no reason to order out - so get cooking." Enjoy it.

I've been a Weight Watcher for more years than I care to count, but I've never seen a cookbook like this before! Almost every page is a recipe for something I love and don't know how to make at home. With everything less than 8 points, it's realistic to include it as part of an average day's menu. I only wish there were a picture with every recipe, but the pictures that are there are great! My mother always said "If you get one good recipe out of a cookbook, it's worth the price!" This one will earn its keep in less than a week!

I checked out many of the Weight Watcher cookbooks from the library and this one was my absolute favorite - so much so I now own it! If you have a craving for take out these recipies will help while still controlling the calories. We have tried many of the recipes and they are delicious without that 'diet' taste. Enjoy!

The variety of cuisines represented and the generous serving sizes of these recipes mean those of us who like to cook and eat will be very happy eating healthy foods.
I've been using this book frequently over the last two months and some of the favorites in our house have been the Nachos Supreme, Chipotle Chicken and Rice, and Skinny Chimis from the Mexican section; the Baked Orzo with Fragrant Lamb, Greek Villagers' Salad, and a terrific Lemon-Garlic Roast Chicken from the Greek section; Shrimp and Soba salad from the Japanese, and Beef with Broccoli from the Chinese. The only dud so far has been the Thai Coconut Rice Pudding. I've concluded that I prefer coconut milk in savory rather than sweet dishes. The pictures are lovely, the listing of what constitutes one serving helpful, and many of the dishes can be whipped up in 45 minutes or less. One note: you can reduce the sugar/honey in the Asian dishes by at least half successfully if you prefer less-sweet foods. (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-01-10 00:52:21 EST)

I purchased this book for my wife and Mother-in-law who are dedicated to the Weight Watchers program. They both loved it and use the recepies on a regular basis. I eat what they cook and lets just say that I cant tell the diffrence. The food taste the same but with a low point kick.
Worth the purchase!!! (Review Data Last Updated: 2006-12-30 00:52:31 EST)

I CAN SEE WHY WEIGHT WATCHERS DISCONTINUED THIS COOKBOOK. THERE ARE A LOT OF INGREDIENTS THAT I WOULDN'T HAVE IN MY KITCHEN NORMALLY. ONCE I BOUGHT THESE UNUSUAL INGREDIENTS, IT WOULD TAKE TOO LONG TO USE THEM, AND MAKE THEM NOT COST- EFFECTIVE. I WAS LOOKING FOR A SUBSTITUTE FOR CURRY PORK AND WAS DISAPPOINTED, BUT THE REUBEN SANDWHICH WAS GOOD AND FAIRLY SIMPLE. MY FAVORITE WEIGHT WATCHER COOKBOOK IS CALLED 'COOKING FOR TWO.' IT HAS A LOT OF RECIPES GOOD ENOUGH FOR COMPANY-THEY WON'T SUSPECT THEY ARE EATING WEIGHT WATCHERS. A LOT OF THE RECIPES IN 'COOKING FOR TWO,' YOU COOK DOUBLE AND FREEZE HALF, OR YOU MAKE SOMETHING DIFFERENT AND VERY TASTY WITH THE INGREDIENTS THE NEXT DAY. AS A MATTER OF FACT,I'M HAVING 'BEEF AND BEER STEW' TONIGHT!(PAGE 90-'COOKING FOR TWO')

I received this book as a gift. There are quite a few books on this subject on the market and this one is the best. I too could not put it down and finished it in 3 days. It's a huge book, a great resource that is well researched and written.. I have a few friends who've purchased this book and really loved it too. I can highly recommend this book.

This is my family's favorite cookbook. The recipes are fun and I haven't hit a dud yet. When I cook from it my family doesn't know I am cooking "light", they just think it is delicious. I have shared more recipies from this cookbook than any other I own. I would highly recommend this cookbook to anyone, not just those who are on the Weight Watcher's plan. We are eating yet another recipe from this tonight. I can hardly wait!

This is an excellent resource for anyone trying to stick to the Points plan but still craving take-out meals. You can make a quick dish out of the 'Deli' section to take to work for lunch, then come home to a great entree out of the 'Thai' or 'Greek' or any of the other sections. The recipes are all straight forward and easy to follow, and the Clever Cooks' Tips and pantry-filling shopping lists are handy in anyone's kitchen. Plus, the total prep and cooking time for many of the dishes is faster than waiting for delivery.

This Weight Watchers book has great recipes for the favourite take-outs like enchiladas and beef with broccoli. I owned another WW cookbook but didn't take a second look as the recipes were presented in a boring way. Here the pictures are just as delectable as the results. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. And the pages are colour coded for Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Greek, Deli, Greek, Italian, and Indian.
Before, I thought I would have to forgo these dishes in order to stay in my recommended diet. Thankfully the book has done a great job of delivering without the guilt. My favourites include the Shrimp and Soba salad and the Szechuan Chicken with Peanuts. I can't wait to try the Osso Buco next. I do wonder about the inclusion of a recipe for cannoli. One cannoli is 3 points! Who can eat just one cannoli? Maybe for an indulgence then... I don't usually prepare the meals every week, but many of the ingredients used in the book are now pantry staples. So instead of getting take-out and then worrying about calories and fat, why not make it yourself? (Review Data Last Updated: 2006-12-04 00:54:17 EST)

WOW! I first joined WW about 3 years ago and bought their "In One Pot" cookbook at a meeting. I LOVED that book and was really impressed with the recipes. I eventually started repeating many of my favorites. I desperately needed a new WW cookbook to avoid getting bored and falling off-program.
After reading a bunch of on-line reviews, I had my heart set on "Take Out Tonight" - and, boy, I wasn't disappointed!! I didn't think it was possible, but this book is even better! Every single thing I've tried so far has been absolutely fantastic! We're huge Indian/Chinese/Japanese food aficianados and have already made a number of these selections. The Shrimp Vindaloo was infused with the flavor of curry powder (although next time I would make it hotter), and great served over a 1/2 cup of steamed basmati rice for a few some extra points. The Honey-Glazed Salmon with Wasabi rocked! It even made a convert out of my non-WW husband - he raved that this tasted jut like the salmon teriyaki from our favorite Japanese restaurant! All the recipes are super simple to make and all of the ingredients are readily available at our local stores here in Las Vegas. Just awesome! (Review Data Last Updated: 2006-12-04 00:54:17 EST)

If you love this book, then you will love another book called The Truth About Caffeine : How Companies That Promote it Deceive Us and What We Can Do About It. The author is a reformed coffee addict and founder of a non-profit organization called the Caffeine Awareness Alliance. She puts her heart into her quest to make readers understand how caffeine affects the body, the mind and well-being in general, and how the makers of caffeinated products will deceive the public into thinking they are in no danger at all as they chug down eight grande lattes and two cans of Red Bull...in one sitting. I simply was shocked at what I discovered. You will be too so get this book. (Review Data Last Updated: 2006-08-08 00:47:04 EST)

I began cooking dinner for myself and my husband a year-and-a-half ago as part of a plan to get fit (before that, we ate out/ordered in almost every night). I have since amassed a collection of about 35 cookbooks, most of them "diet" related, and this is probably my favorite of the bunch. Everything I have made has been good, and some dishes have been excellent. So far, I've made dishes from the Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Indian, and Mexican chapters, and I do intend to try everything at least once. The best thing about these recipes is that they are authentic and loaded with real flavor. Also, most of the recipes are fairly quick and easy to make (not "super express," but totally do-able on a weeknight). We had Shrimp Vindaloo for lunch today and it was UNREAL, as was the Chimichurri Steak I made last week. Other favorites of ours include Sweet and Sour Chicken, Szechuan Chicken with Peanuts, and Sesame Tofu with Spinach. You may have to invest in a few "exotic" ingredients at first, but once you have them in your pantry you are all set. I highly recommend this cookbook to you if you love ethnic food and are trying to eat healthy.

This is one of the best cookbooks I have ever owned! Many of my family's favorite recipes are from this book. Once we had a few staples in the house, making most of the meals didn't require many ingredients or preparation. Our favorites include: General Tso's chicken (this usually fattening favorite for only 4 points!), Chicken Enchiladas, and Chicken Saltimbocca. All the meals have been low in points and high in flavor. I have bought it for several friends and family members. If you like fattening restaurant food but want to lose weight and save money, this is the cookbook for you. Losing weight is a bonus: I am the only one who does WW in my house, but everyone loves these recipes.

I bought this book yesterday as my reward for starting back up with the WW program. For dinner last night we had Hot & Sour Soup and General Tso's Chicken for a total of 6 points. Tonight we had Skinny Chimichangas - 4 points. I doubled the recipe because I think these would be perfect to pack in lunches this week. Everything has turned out great. Later this week I plan on trying the Caramelized Onion and Roast Beef Sandwiches. The recipes all seem really easy with readily-available ingredients. I've marked quite a few recipes to try.

I received this book when i was on the Weight Watchers "Point" plan. Since reaching my goal weight, I'm no longer keeping strict count of my points, but this cookbook is still my favorite, and I cook from it several times a week for healthy, easy, delicious dinners. Unlike many low-cal or low-fat cookbooks, these recipes aren't bland and boring. Quite the contrary: there are healthy, low-point versions of exciting Thai, Indian, and Mexican "take-out" favorites. Many of these cuisines usually feature hard-to-find ingredients and complicated preparation, but these recipes are easy to follow and use ingredients readily available at our small, rural grocery store. My family, including two picky preschoolers, loves these recipes, and I feel good knowing they are enjoying healthy, interesting meals. This book has encouraged us to try different world cuisines I know we might not have ordinarily tried. I never thought pastitsio and tandoori would become regular entrees in my house! My only complaint about this terrific cookbook is that there aren't enough color photographs. It would be helpful to have a picture of each recipe, particularly of some of the more unfamiliar ethnic dishes.

I just did not see that much in the book that I would like to cook. Returned it.

I was very excited to receive this cookbook. As I started looking through it I noticed there was several pages missing. Also there was repeats of pages throughout the book. I would not recommend buying weight watchers cookbooks through here. Instead I am now buying them at my local meeting and I am very pleased.

If you are into healthy eating and you like certain restaurant food, here's the book for you. There are many familiar foods here. All you need now is someone to serve it to you and someone to clean up...and who knows, with the weight you'll lose, you may find that someone.

This book is amazing. I have made quite a few recipes from this book so far and they have all been very easy to follow and delicious. This book really helps give some extra ideas to cooking meals at home rather than eating out!

Takeout food using Take Home food. There are some really great recipes in this book. It's great to use it to plan a "theme" dinner and pretend you're not on a "diet".

My husband and I own a lot of cookbooks (weight watching and otherwise) and this is our favorite cookbook. It never lets us down. All of our favorite recipes come from here. We always think, "where was that one great recipe?" and it was here. Eating healthy can be DELICIOUS!! This will be the best cookbook you ever order!!

I really love this book. It gives me the option to make the stuff I usually order and still lose weight. The instructions are easy and once you get the ingredients for one of the recipes you are pretty much able to use it over and over again for that entire section. Def must for you collection!!

I'm another that thinks this is a great cookbook.
I'm always looking for a way to have my big meal of the day (dinner) both filling and fit within the points allowed. My usual method is to eat 2 points for breakfast and 6 for lunch which leaves me 22 for dinner. Not the best way to do it. This cookbook allows me to eat a little more for breakfast and lunch and still have a really nice dinner. Last night I had the Turkey Enchilada casserole. 4 points for one serving. I had two servings. Add on some fat free refried beans and you have a very nice dinner for only about 10 or 12 points. Buy this book if you want quite a few lower point ethnic recipes.
