This is the best cookbook i have ever used. Many of the recipes are easy to follow but it is also a grill exclusive cookbook. Now you may be thinking - so you can make chicken or steak - great cookbook right? Wrong, you can cook vegetables, starches and desserts in addition to every meat under the sun. Every recipe has a beautiful picture - the drawback is you are competing to make yours look that good and it makes you hungry to make everything in it. Overall an incredible buy.

This is an awesome recipe book. Every recipe has a color photo, with excellent instructions. Every recipe we have tried is as mouth watering as it looks! I used to let my husband do all the grilling, but now I am hooked. There are great tips on how to grill just about everything.

Excellent reference for both the beginner and experienced cook. The book is well laid out, with excellent photographs and instructions. All the recipes I tried were simple to follow and were very tasty and enjoyable by my guests.

I would recommend this book for anyone looking for straightforward recipes that taste good and aren't too difficult or exotic. This was given to me as a Christmas gift and I have really enjoyed trying out several of the recipes. Everything that I have tried to-date has been good, and some have been truly exceptional. The author seems to have a lot of common sense, but also appears to be an accomplished chef. This has been a perfect recipe book to help me get out of the rut of just grilling chicken and hamburgers and to try some new recipes.

I REALLY like this cookbook. I was afraid that alot of the recipes in it would contain ingredients that could only be found at a gourmet shop but I found most of the recipes use your basic spices etc. I have tried several recipes and they have all been great!!! The book itself is very big and constructed well with thick pages.

Very good book with great guides on what temperature and how long to cook. We use it as a guide for the type of meat even if we are not using the recipes in the book.

I'm totally new to grilling, so a very basic guide I guess is what I'm looking for, something that goes step by step. This book isn't exactly that, but it's still very good. First off, it has pictures for every recipe, which I love. It's got a bunch of different rubs and marinades you can make and kind of experiment with what you like.

Until this summer, my two best culinary dishes were peanut butter & jelly on a bagel and power bars served freshly from the wrapper. Then I got a Weber grill as a gift and decided that I had better learn how to use it properly.
I bought this book and also 'Weber's Big Book of Grilling' after reading positive reviews about both. Both books are fantastic. They cover the basics of how to run, outfit and maintain your grill. Also both have great sections that give tips on how to best prepare different types of meat/veggies. The rest of the book is composed of amazing grill recipes with beautiful color photography of the outcome. I am a very visual person and I love this book. I can honestly say that by simply following the recipes in this book step by step, I have successfully cooked ribs, burgers, chicken and tri-tip for crowds of friends and family this summer and have gotten RAVE reviews. This is something entirely new to me since I previous had no cooking ability (as I mentioned). This book is great! As a final note, this book is slightly more advanced than Weber's Big Book of Grilling, but both are sufficiently friendly for the novice. I received the book as a gift and i'm glad i did. Every other BBQ book is not nearly as informative as this one. Besides the recipes theres an entire section on rubs, marinades, and sauces. It gives info on the various types and cuts of meats. I used the info in this book to make my own rub and bbq sauce that has won awards

This is the only grilling book you need, perfect for my new Baby Q, iI have not had a bad meal since I started using this book.All my grilled food is perfect, but I now cook with a stop watch!

I have 3 Weber cookbooks, and each one is exceptional. The Weber cookbook author, Jamie Purviance, really has a great sense of taste and the ability to combine interesting ingredients to make grilled food great. One thing I was wary of with these book was I thought it may be one giant advertisement for Weber grills, but that is not the case (although I must admit I am a Weber fan, all of my grills have been Webers).
The focus is simply on the food, and it is done so well. Purviance seems to like Californian-style food, that is, lots of Mexican influence with spices and avacados and corn, etc. The recipes are well written and easy to follow, and are accopanied by large, full-color pictures that make you want to try every recipe. I have made many of the recipes in this book, and have yet to be disappointed. They are great for a tailgate or a backyard BBQ party, and you'll soon gladly find yourself burning through your fair share of charcoal if you get this book. Definitely recommended! For me, this recipe is worth the price of the book. Okay, a book review said it's got the backing of Weber...and, so...? Just check out the background of the author and you will know that a lot of education, experience and thought went into the making of this well written, informative, beautifully photographed book. The combination of ingredients in his recipes are not only creative but are what give that extra kick of flavor that goes above and beyond ordinary. I had taken the book from the shelf expecting to find the usual run of the mill standby grilling book. Not so. I couldn't put it down, I had to have it. What more do you want? You won't be disappointed.

The book was as decirbed with nice color pictures, simple recipies, very good tasting food by following the simple instructions. What I like a lot are the instructions on searing of the foods as well as each section of foods give their individual grilling times, and heat settings. It would be pretty hard to mess up. Everything I have tried so far...beef, fish, poultry, pork, came out perfect! Great book for grilling and very simple to understand!! "This one's a keeper"!

I have found most recipes i have tried to be excellent. However most of the dry rubs tend to be extremely salty and i have had to reduce the amount of salt by as much as 2/3s to make the rub palatable.

Great book, but when I added it to my cart, I was offered a deal if purchased with "The Art of Grilling". Some deal... many (if not all, I haven't compared it page for page) of the recipes are repeated in this book. I knew it had the same author, but I didn't expect the same book only rebranded.

This is not the best beginner's barbecue / grilling book. It's not nearly as informative as Weber's Big Book of Grilling but it is decent read. The recipes in it aren't as basic the Big Book of Grilling but they are still pretty good if you are looking for something new to grill. If you already own Weber's Big Book of Grilling and are considering getting this one to then I wouldn't tell you not to get it. I've certainly seen worse.

I have nothing but good things to say about this book. There are tons of recipes, each one with a mouthwatering photo. None appear to be overly complicated, but look absolutely delicious. In addition, there are a few lists of general recipes for rubs and marinades, and lots of great tips. I love the author's writing style, as he just seems very down to earth and unpretentious (he also does the podcasts and video "cooking lessons" on the Weber Nation website).
Another thing I really like is that there is not a lot of "fluff," but instead there is a nice balance of information and recipes. In other words, he gives you the tips and information that you really need/want to know, but doesn't wax on and on about each specific recipe. This is a great grilling book and at the price it really deserves a perfect rating, but going by the retail price I wouldnt have bought it for that. If you were to see this book in the store, the poignant tips at the beginning of each chapter could be read and memorized while thumbing through and these tips are dynamite.. Totally gave me some direction when it came to chicken.. It has a lot of interesting and tasty recipes, but I expected more grilling tips.. Buy it for under $10 and its a steal...

This is not the normal "throw the steak on the fire" book. It's an easy to use our ordinary kitchen spices and flavors to make very good tasting foods. It's now gotten to the point where I seem to be doing most of the cooking.

This is the third book I've bought from the Weber grilling series and all have been quite good. This one has the most basic recipes, but they all look good and there doesn't appear to be much overlap with other titles.

My sister and her husband got this book and after eating so many delish meals at their house, I bought this book too. Every recipe is so good, and the ingredients are common spices you probably already have in your pantry. The rubs are excellent, and again with common ingredients. My favorite recipe is the Cedar Planked Salmon...I have made it every weekend since I first discovered the recipe. We have made chicken, beef, pork and fish and this book has not let us down. If you like to BBQ...this is a must have.

This grilling cookbook is versitile and informative. It not only provides great recipies, but also good cooking tips and grilling information. The directions are easy to understand and the timing and temerature information is accurate. I purchased this book for myself 3 years ago and have given it as a gift several times and recommended it to friends. Everyone has been pleased with it.

Grilling expert Purviance provides us with a grilling reference book with recipes and aids his research shows of "how we want to grill today: simple and fun!"
He like so many of us wants to grill on those days when chaos and hectic pace evaporates the time and energy to do more sophisticated and involved recipes, so he has given us over 200 recipes for prep under thirty minutes with ingredinets found at most well stocked supermarkets. This differentiates itself from other grilling cookbooks such as Jamie's previous work: Weber's Big Book of Grilling (my favorite). Both are useful depending on the occasion. Certainly this one has enough for most nights or days when one wants to excellent food on plate quickly without shopping at multiple places and limited prep time. The full range of recipes is here: appetizers to main course entrees to desserts, sides, veggies, etc. Also, really excellent prep and technique advice is given here with wonderful color photos and illustrations. What I especially love about this collection are various taco offerings using halibut, and shrimp and pork and chicken as well as beef. Another for healthy minded diets is Whole Roasted Turkey Breast with Sage and Prosciutto. So juicy and tender yet flavorful and quick to prepare and serve, although little longer than thirty minute norm, but worthy every minute. Also a killer recipe is Citrus Pesto Tuna with Fennel-Tangerine Salad. This is winner whether you're rookie griller or experienced, providing necessary "daily" menu ideas! This cook book is a joy! And I should know...my family has been collecting cook book's for generations. The photos are appealing, the variety is very good, the recipes are step by step...even through the basics we sometimes forget! I have recommended this book to friends and family and plan to give it as gifts (perfect gift for a summer occasion).

I do a ton of cooking, and I have to say that this is one of the best cookbooks I've ever come across. I've yet to find a recipe in here that wasn't fantastic, and the book is worth buying for the rub recipes alone. If you have a grill, this is a must-buy. Even if you don't, it's worth considering!

This is the BEST book I've found for grilling. I hadn't been successful with grilling until trying the techniques and recipes in this book. There are loads of color photos that have tempted me to try a variety of new recipes, all with wonderful results so far. My girls' social group likes the pesto chicken skewers the best. I recommend this book to both beginners (me) and pros and I've purchased a second copy as a gift for my brother (the pro who would like to try new flavors).

I'm impressed with all of Weber's cookbooks, but especially this one. Always a broad assortment of well thought out recipes and yet never redundant--- perfect for weekend entertaining. This particular cookbook is extremely well illustrated and provides plenty of good advice on selecting the best cuts of meat and enhancing the flavor with smoke. A must have for any BBQ afficionado.

A fantastic cookbook for those folks that like to cook outdoors. My wife and I spend many hours and days living in our RV and this cookbook has help to bring some great gourmet cooking to our meals prepared on our charcoal and propane bar-b-que grilles. This book has become a part of our RV must have's and we may have to order a second copy to keep at home.

Great book when learning how to cook on the grill--suggested cooking times have given us perfectly cooked meats every time. Many ingredients are repeated (i.e. tobasco, garlic) giving many of the dishes the same flavors. Gave us a great start to grilling.

If you're looking for a book for marinades and rubs, this is the book. I have to admit, I've only tasted recipes from other sections in the book...I haven't cooked them myself, but I really like the dry rub and marinade recipes. This is a huge book and really easy to follow with clear recipes and color photography.

Great book on grilling. The recipes I've tried so far all taste great. However, some other reviewers have stated that the binding is not of the best quality and the book is falling apart. I think that they may be right. After about a month of use, I can see signs of this so I am being a bit carefull with it for now. I only paid about $5 for this new here so I won't complain too much, I'm satisfied. I would be a bit upset however if I had paid the MSRP and it was falling apart.

I purchased this cookbook for my husband who has recently been getting into grilling on our Weber charcoal grill. The book has great tips on grilling techniques and every recipe we have tried has been delicious. Our favorites are the BBQ ribs and the grilled pizza. I have 6 year old twins and they love to put their favorite toppings on their personal pizzas. It's not just the usual grilling recipes either. There are recipes for sauces, side dishes, and even desserts. I recommend this cookbook for anyone who likes to grill.

THIS BOOK ANSWERED MOST OF THE QUESTIONS I HAD REGARDING GAS GRILLING.

I thought I knew how to grill well and always got good compliments, but I have learned from this book and it has kicked my grilling up a notch. For example, I've learned to grill my steaks at hotter temperatures for shorter times to produce an outside with a little crust and the middle the way I like it. This is a great book for either gas or charcoal grillers.

I purchased this book for my brother's birthday as a companion book to Weber's Art of the Grill. Unbeknownst to me, he was a bit gunshy behind the grill and not at all confident BBQing. I was there for my nephew's birthday and happened to chat with his in-laws who were bragging about how wonderful his newly aquired BBQ was now perfectly paired with his newly aquired skills and recipes thanks to Weber's Real Grilling. He had used a new recipes every day for the 4 days prior to the birthday party and his in-laws were completely thrilled by his newly discovered skills and recipes...he had received an enthusiastic thumbs up at every meal!
