The book is advertised as "rousing" and "rollicking" but is actually pretty boring. The author only succeeds in presenting a superficial Lost Cause spin throughout. I suppose Crocker's strategy in this one-sided effort was two wrongs will make a right. Typos (especially missing words) were annoying. Obvious historical mistakes like misspelling Jackson's horse's name ("Little Sorrell") and inverting the name of General Turner Ashby to "Ashby Turner" make this simply "The Incorrect Guide to the Civil War".
