If you read The New Pearl Harbor a few years ago, and found it disturbing but filed it in the back of your mind, you will find this update truly frightening. Written in precise language, and resembling a court record in its detail, it will leave any thinking person with only one conclusion -- 911 was a complete inside job.

Do not underestimate the effect that this may have on your life in general, particularly if you are someone who has always believed in the inherent decency and honesty of people, whether in business or politics. It may leave you saying silently "Tell me it isn't so!"

You might then find yourself at dinner parties suggesting others read these two volumes. But be careful, the mere hint that the accepted story might be the ultimate conspiracy theory will elicit dramatic responses. After all, you are questioning some very fundamental beliefs by calling the accepted facts into question.

I am left with one image in my mind -- that of George Bush standing on the rubble at Ground Zero, declaring "we're gonna find the people who knocked these buildings down!" Apparently he didn't have to go far to do that...

He's just asking, mind you. Why, how, what, where, when on and on. Of course the questions are meant to lead you to certain assumptions. Hopefully if you do, you will also stand back and say "OK, now I think this happened but the funny thing is...there are no facts here to tell me why!" There is an excellent reason for that...there are none! This is how this game works: I say that you are wrong, I give no proof that you are, then when you have trouble countering my accusation, I say: See? you're wrong and I'm right! And even if you do counter it, I just cherry pick from your arguments and employ only those that back up my...position, I guess you'd call it. Wonderful. I also have to say that this book is listed on many of the "Listmania" pages, along with other books putting forth a conspiracy theory. That is pretty humorous, as almost all of those books contradict each other in some way. I guess that doesn't matter, as long as you can claim membership in the club.

The government...here comes the shock...botched up an investigation, either out of political concerns, too many chefs, haste or human failings and somehow that almost BY ITSELF means there was an internal conspiracy to pull this thing off. That is an amzing conclusion. I should stop reading these books as all they do is make me tear what is left of may hair out, but I guess I'm a sucker for punishment. Or maybe, just a sucker.

Two thousand four hundred years ago Plato warned us for the deformed perspective of people living in a cave. In his story, they saw persons walking by a hole in the upper part of the cave reflected as shadows on the walls of the cave, and considered those shades as the "reality". In September 2001 Bush warned us for dangerous men living in faraway caves, which he held responsible for the greatest attack on American territory since Pearl Harbor... Is he right ? Or were we shown the shadows of reality on television ?

Who agrees with Socrates that the most important task for human beings is searching for the truth, we have breaking news. Thierry Meyssan of the Réseau Voltaire was the first whistleblower. He warned us for the first shadows of reality. When he looked at the images of the hole in the Pentagon - 19 m width - that we were shown on television, he understood there was no way a Boeing 757 with a wingspan of 38 m could have made only such a small hole. This fact stimulated curious people all over the globe to continue investigate what really happened on 9/11. The actual 911-truth-movement brings together architects, engineers, firefighters, pilots, philosophers and citizens, united by their common interest in discovering what really happened. The author of this book does an important effort to clarify some important points.

If we investigate closely the disaster with the twin towers, we quickly understand that the official version is false. To begin with, following the firm Worthington, Skilling, Helle & Jackson, the structural design of the twin towers was conceived in such a way that it could withstand the collision of a Boeing 707 : "The buildings have been investigated and found to be safe in an assumed collision with a large jet airliner (Boeing 707-DC-8) traveling at 600 miles per hour. Analysis indicates that such collision would result in only local damage which could not cause collapse." On 9/11 the planes hit the towers at respectively 440 and 540 mph, what means that their kinetic energy was below the design parameter. Collapse of the towers should thus not have occurred.

The official version further claims that the buildings collapsed due to fire. However, *never before in history* a skyscraper with a steel structure collapsed because of a fire. Now, consider for a minute that we want to believe the official story, and that the fire weakened the steel structure of those buildings. What should we have seen then ? A local failure or in the worst case the collapse of the upper floors. End of story.

But we didn't see this on 9/11. The twin towers collapsed totally. Consider - once again for the sake of argument - that we want to believe that the whole steel structure collapsed due to a fire on the upper floors; then again our faith is put under great stress, since the collapse of the twin towers occurred at *free fall speed*. For those who have left school a long time ago, this free fall speed was illustrated unintentionally by some unlucky people trapped in the smoke on the upper floors. Some of them preferred to jump. Not only those people, but the two buildings, collapsed in ten seconds. In the case of the people it was clear that the air didn't offer the slightest resistance. In the case of the buildings this meant that the underlying structure - 100.000 ton of steel - imploded "miraculously". Who refuses to believe in the "revenge of Allah" and prefers to stick to the elementary laws of nature formulated by Newton in 1687 cannot explain this without other forces necessarily happening to produce this incredible speed of collapse. Forces that broke the resistance of the underlying floors in a controlled manner. Forces known as... explosions.

Witnesses are confirming this. A lot of reporters mentioned explosions when covering the events of 9/11, including CNN, FOX, CBS and NBC. Explosions were also heard by 118 firefighters, among other survivors. William Rodríguez, the "last survivor" to be rescued from under the debris of the twin towers, and received by Bush as a hero in the White House, soon became his worst nightmare, because he continues to claim that the twin towers collapsed due to explosions.

Explosions also explain why surrounding buildings were hit by enormous pieces of steel from the twin towers. Some of them weighted several tons and flew over a distance of 180 m.

On 9/11 the twin towers weren't the only buildings that were demolished. A third building collapsed, some hours later. The WTC-7-building (Salomon Brothers Building), not hit by a plane, collapsed with the astonishing speed of six seconds. This event hasn't even been explained by the 9/11 commission in their 571 pages long report. Now, remember this building wasn't exactly a newspaper stand, but a huge skyscraper of 47 floors.

Two New York City officials - Michael Hess and Barry Jennings - went to this building, shortly after the first WTC-tower was hit, looking for their boss, the mayor, since in this building the Emergency Services Department was located. Apparently, mayor Giuliani was better informed, and had already moved on. While Hess and Jennings were inside WTC-7, they heard several explosions, and were even temporarily caught within this damned building. Afterward, this building would be evacuated and the firefighters were withheld to intervene.

The other building hit on 9/11 was the Pentagon. That is even weirder, since more than once, the Pentagon has been called the safest and best-defended building in the world. The airspace above the Pentagon is a no-fly area. Everything that flies above it without a US-military transponder will be knocked down immediately. If a Boeing-757 would fly close to the Pentagon, it would be shot down without pity. Only a flying object of the *own army* - like a missile - could come close, without activating the air defense system.

The big bosses of the Pentagon were delighted with the choice of the "terrorists" on 9/11. The audit area was completely destroyed, just a day after Rumsfeld told that the Pentagon was missing [...] trillion dollars. April Gallop, a survivor, declared that she saw "flames coming out of the computers", what is confirmed by another witness, Tracy Webb. She and other witnesses also claim to have heard explosions. Apparently, the "terrorists" didn't leave anything to pure luck. The computers with the audits had to be destroyed completely. Since 9/11 this investigation has been suspended. This raises the question who were the actual "terrorists" : a wild man living in a cave in Afghanistan or the big bosses of the Pentagon themselves, for whom war is big business?

If the Pentagon was not hit by a plane, but by a missile, this raises a second question : where is the plane ?

Now, let's first consider the twin towers again. Several eyewitnesses claim that the planes that hit the twin towers were no commercial airliners. Eyewitnesses speak of grey planes, without windows. Even FOX reported live having seen a "plane without windows" that "looked like a cargo plane". Several pilots on the website [...] confirm also that the proportions of the planes that can be seen on the official images don't correspond with a Boeing-767.

This leads us to conclude that not only flight 77 but also flights 11 and 175 are "missing". This raises the question if those planes were really hijacked. How do we know under normal circumstances that a plane is hijacked ? Because the pilot forms the code "7500" on the transponder. Not one of the eight (co-)pilots has succeeded on 9/11 to fulfill this simple standard procedure, that only takes about 2 to 3 seconds. Apparently, the Arabs were very handy with their box cutters... Have you ever thought about this ? Would you be able to kill a chicken with such a "knife", let alone : a human being ? On 9/11 occurred the impossible : the pilot ánd the copilot were murdered with box cutters, in less than three seconds ! And this operation was executed four times without a flaw ! Why were we moved to believe in such a nonsense ? Well, there seemed to be some cell phone communications between "stewardesses" and "passengers" who informed us on this "hijacking by Arabs". A small, but not insignificant detail was overlooked : cell phones couldn't communicate with the ground in 2001. This technology only became available in 2004, after installing a special "picocell" in the airplane, and this was installed for the first time in Europe in 2008 !!!

Now, if the four commercial airplanes on 9/11 weren't hijacked by Arabs, then what happened to them ? Let's go back to April 2001 first of all. It was the first time in history that an unmanned plane flew from the US to Australia, by remote control.

A remote control system could break in in the command system of a commercial airliner if the software has a back door. A remote system shuts off the transponder, what resolves the mystery why the code "7500" was never received. The Boeings were indeed hijacked on 9/11, but not by Arabs, but by an American computer system. This was probably on board of the large military aircraft E-4B - the "Doomsday Plane" - that has the most sophisticated military command and control apparatus, and which was circling over Washington when the Pentagon was hit, as shown on CNN and seen by a lot of eyewitnesses. The White House was even evacuated at this moment, due to the presence of this plane.

President Eisenhower warned us of the "military industrial complex" on the 17th of January 1961 in his farewell speech. That is what we're up to. The US are a permanent war economy. Producing weapons becomes absurd if there are no wars to fight. Therefore, most wars are initiated under false pretexts. President Kennedy intended to break the power of the military industrial complex. He wanted to stop the insanity of the nuclear arms race by making peace with the Soviet Union. He wanted to involve the whole world in a Pax Americana. He wanted to withdraw all troops from Vietnam by 1965 and therefore signed the order NSAM #263 on the 11th of October of 1963. The military industrial complex doesn't like to be dragged about. The weapons industry is the biggest enterprise of the US. Its interests are defended with all possible means. If it is necessary, they do in their own country what they do regularly in other countries of the world : kill the president.

It's important to distinguish the shadows from the reality, the lies from the truth. And let's keep in mind some wise words from Albert Einstein : "The injustice in the world doesn't exist because some people commit it; it exists because the great mass ignores it." Read this book, inform yourself, your friends and your family members.

The first 30 pages alone makes an overpowering case that the official story is not possibly consistent with the facts of 9/11.

Everyone should read this book and then consider the evidence for themselves. This is not oddball conspiracy theory, but an attempt to realistically examine what happened on 9/11 and address the incredibly incomplete and inaccurate 9/11 Commission Report.

Sadly, the vast majority of us will only know what the media tells us.

Although they might seem to be headed in the right direction, the specific theories of David Ray Griffin -- for example, remote-controlled Boeing airplanes -- are nonsense. As a 20-year Boeing pilot and captain on seven Boeing airliners including the 757 and 767, I can tell you that if the remote control technology was there to fly our planes with such precision, airline CEOs would be jumping like sharks at bloody chum to install it. Griffin offers no clue as to where the "remote control pilot" was flying the plane, where that "pilot" was trained or what any of this might prove. Even more absurd is that Griffin also subscribes to the "controlled demolition theory" concerning the destruction of the World Trade Center. The world record for building demolition was achieved on a six-story building, and it took nearly six months of taking out drywall in order to place the explosives on the bearing joints. Unless we can find the 1,000 invisible workers who planted these explosives on 202 stories of the WTC -- invisible men who, incredibly, have all kept silent -- we must conclude that Griffin either has lost his marbles or is trying to steal ours.

However, what the author says about Philip Zelikow, who was probably working with the conspirators, is well researched and concurs with my findings. Therefore we have the Truthers drawing off the energy of all of us who suspect an inside job, but then leading us down a garden maze into impossible, indeterminate scenarios that can never find closure -- Griffin is either knowingly or unknowingly, aiding the slickest of neocon cover-ups.

I hope that honest truth seekers will find my book, False Flag 911, and understand that 911 was indeed a neocon plot but one in which real pilots were trained by a group that had the means, motive and opportunity to direct the mission. I provide several paths to the conspirators including excerpts of the 2003 congressional report that was quickly classified by Dick Cheney. That report was an honest accounting of the Saudi-backed hijackers as they trained for the mission with logistical and financial support from high-ranking Saudi officials, most alarmingly within the Saudi Aviation Ministry. I have researched the NTSB reports and FAA radar recordings and have analyzed the black boxes for American 77 and United 93. Griffin's accounts of these flights are so far-fetched and uninformed that they actually have the net effect of aiding the perpetrators.

If you think that saying 9/11 is an inside job is plain crazy please read on, I'm not trying to preach to the choir.

Bush would did not want to conduct an investigation, as it would detract from the War on Terror. The jersey girls through a media campaign finally forced him to, he first appointed notorious insider Kissinger, until he had to resign because he refused to reveal his client list. Christopher Hitchens (no 9/11 truther he) has said that the appointment of Kissinger is tantamout to an attempt at a cover-up.

All that many people in the 9/11 truth movement want is a better investigation. They have not (in most cases) posited an exact alternative scenario, but to believe the government's story one has to believe the following:

two planes crashed into two steel framed buildings and bought down three, the 3rd WTC7 would be the tallest building in most cities, it just happened to be only half the height of the mammoth WTC 1 and 2. WTC7 is not mentioned even once in the 9/11 commission report

The site was not treated like a crime scene for architects and engineers and law enforcement officers to conduct a truly thorough going investigation in how these towers could have shredded themselves from top to bottom in 10 to 15 seconds. This is valuable information that would have been
a) necessary for future safety protocols
b) is mandatory by law in any case

The very fabric of the three buildings that was needed to do a deep and forensic analysis was either sent to landfill or in the case of the Steel nearly all the beams were sold to the Far East as scrap. This is beyond belief in itself, how could the world's single most important crime scene be dismantled before it had been thoroughly investigated. When NIST did their investigations, they had to overwhelmingly rely on computer models.

Firefighter tapes were many said they had heard explosions were withheld for years until they were forcibly released to the New York times under the FOA. Why withold them in the first place? What is the national security implication. We know the buildings were attacked so what is there to hide?

There were many wargames and terror drills going on on the morning of 9/11 they are classified, but this is a highly noteworthy coincidence. What has come out about them, makes them sound mighty suspicions. FEMA arrived in NY on the night 10th of Sept to conduct a bio-terror drill the next morning. The wargames involved hijack scenarios and mightily confused the FAA who were dealing with wargames and real planes without being able to know which were which.

There is very little sign of an airplane at the crash site of the Pentagon. Whether there was or was not a plane is extremely hard to prove from just photographs or eye-witnesses one way or another, but if the govt had nothing whatsoever to hide, why not release the 80 plus CCTV cameras whose films they confiscated, instead they treated us to 5 frames that show no plane but a huge explosion. The govt itself says "a plane flew into the building" so there can be no national security implication in showing it doing so.

Even Keane and Hamilton argue that they were not allowed to speak to KSM (khalid sheik mohammed) supposed mastermind of the 9/11 (and plenty of other plots). he was waterboarded severely which the CIA admit so it's impossible to tell if he is lying or not. Now if he was the mastermind wouldn't the Bush administration have
a) given their own congress appointed body the right to question him
b) given him a trial in New York to show that the US is above international barbarism and that they conduct fair trials even of evil terrorists? Why all the illegal behaviour?
why after nearly 8 years of the crime of the century, do we have the laughable spectacle of the imprisoning of Bin Laden's driver and no genuine legal process or closure on the supposed worst evil masterminds to ever attack the US? it doesn't make sense, how can any right thinking person accept this kangaroo process for such an important crime.

The shanksville plane debris is scattered over a large area indicating it might have been shot down.

why do all the bin ladens in videos after 9/11 not look like Bin Laden. The 9/11 terrorist attack enabled two wars, for which there was plenty of evidence that the neocons were hell bent on creating anyway. The official narrative is that 9/11 'gave them the opportunity'. 9/11 happened with just enough time for the Bush administration to have their war in Iraq and call the 2004 election after a swift victory, since it was obvious that Saddam's army would be useless against the terrifying WMD that the US deploys in combat.

David Ray Griffin is a searingly intelligent and a graceful thorough writer of very clear prose. He makes a truly unignorable case against the official story. Even if he is wrong on some counts (as I'm sure he is likely to be) the totally undeniable truth is that immediately after the tragedy the media and public and indeed the whole world took the tragedy at face value, believed the government and after that, nobody was ever allowed to question even details (let alone whole swathes) of the official story without either being made to feel like an idiot, a nutcase or a traitor.

This is just plain bad thinking, particularly when you know that the people who denounce any questioning are the on the 'logical' same side as George W Bush, a proven liar and warmonger.
If you know what you saw and you saw planes and you saw the footage of the hijakers at the airport, and you saw the buildings falling down, does that mean that you know everything there is to know? Is there only once possible way to describe how what you saw came to pass?

have some courage and look at the alternative. If you have at least looked and decided it's not for you, I salute you for we can't ask for more than for someone to have an open mind. We can't require that other people agree with us. But please look at this alternative narrative, it is deeply sincere in most cases and it explains the official story's outcomes better than the official story ever comes close to.

Griffin's latest book continues his presentation of questions
that have been raised about the official account of events
as reported by the 9/11 commission. To his credit, and unlike
many other 9/11 truth seekers, he points out clear in-
consistencies in the official account, and calls for a new,
truly independent,investigation of all the relevant facts.
After reading many of the websites on the subject of 9/11,
and Griffin's book, I am left with the inescapable conclusion
that at least one thing is clearly wrong with the official story.
That is: why were 4 hijacked airliners allowed to fly around
uncontested for such a prolonged period of time? Trisonic
fighter planes can cover a tremendous amount of ground in as
little as 10-12 minutes. Why didn't they intercept?

First, let me say that I'm not ready to declare with 100% certainty that 9-11 was an "inside job." I still have a hard time wrapping my puny little brain around the idea that this government, or any government, could pull off such a massive and devastating event. However, I AM convinced that the "official version" of this story is so full of holes and lies that a new, independent investigation is desperately needed.

And that is the reason I'm writing this review and giving Dr. Griffin 5 stars for his exhaustive research.

What is most frustrating to me about any 9-11 debate is the fact that everyone who refutes or simply laughs off the possibility that 9-11 could've been an inside job does so by shouting, "Where's your proof! You haven't proven anything! You're all just a bunch of crazy conspiracy theorists!"

Which brings me to the point of this review. The 9-11 truth movement doesn't have to prove a damn thing. Think of this as a criminal court case. The state (government in this case) has the burden of proof. The truth movement, and Dr. Griffin in particular, simply needs to sit back and shoot holes in the state's case, producing "reasonable doubt." Which I feel they have done and then some.

To say that 9-11 was quite possibly an inside job does not mean that you have a complete and impenetrable timeline of events, nor does it mean that you have the "smoking gun." It simply means that you've studied the state's case and, with mountains of evidence to back you, you've concluded that their story cannot be true.

And I believe Dr. Griffin, and many, many others, have accomplished this and beyond. They're simply saying, "Hey, your evidence doesn't add up, something stinks here." And they've forwarded their own theory of what possibly happened.

It's called having an open mind. The people who say 9-11 was an inside job don't have a definitive, air-tight case. But what they do have are truck loads of evidence that contradicts the official story and they're just saying, "Look, we've got a major problem here!"

We need a new, impartial, non-political investigation into the events of September 11, 2001. Why is that so hard to understand?

The 9-11 Truth Movement just wants what their name says: the friggin' truth. And it's totally clear to me that the 9-11 Commission Report ain't the truth. It's a greatest hits collection hand-picked by the Bush Administration. Maybe when they're finally out of office we can get a real investigation going. Although I'm not too optimistic.

So kudos to you, Dr. Griffin. Your evidence is compelling and frightening. You're making people think. And if you, and your many collegues, are right, God help us all.

I've read most of Dr. Griffin's books on 9/11 and I'm always amazed at how this brilliant scholar pulls together what you or I could find in newspapers, Web sites and journals into a cohesive argument that the Bush cabal set our nation up for this engineered tragedy. In the days after I began reading this book, I learned that Barry Jennings--a veteran NYC emergency management staffer who spoke out about explosions at World Trade Center 7 while he was in the building and how there were bodies in the lobby before the Twin Towers came down--died mysteriously on August 19, 2008. Jennings was only 53 and there's been neither an obit nor a cause of death. His death wasn't acknowledged until September 19, 2008. Jennings is another 9/11 victim because he told the truth. The truth will set you free. The official 9/11 story is just that: a story concocted by criminals to fool us into accepting their lies. Please, read this book and buy copies for your friends who still call you a "conspiracy theorist" simply because you're able to see the truth.

For those of you unfamiliar with the alternative theories surrounding 9/11, get The New Pearl Harbor and PLEASE read it first. READ IT NOW-PUT WHATEVER YOU ARE CURRENTLY READING ON HOLD. Then pass it along to another, it is that important.

For those familiar with the subject, Griffin has once again done a masterful job of presenting the continuing development of the movement, amending minor mistakes made in the first volume and disclosing even more evidence that has surfaced during the four years since NPH was published. A must-read.

D.R. Griffin's second book on the 9/11 massacre is a terribly skilled comment on his first version, with some rectifications and some meticulous unraveling of controversial statements, timings and physical processes.
His overall picture stands more firmly than ever `that every dimension of the official account is false beyond reasonable doubt.' Hereafter, a few crucial points:

- the free vertical fall of the 3 WTC towers (of which one was not hit by a plane) makes a rather cynical joke of the NIST report. Controlled demolition is the only plausible explanation.
- the official version of the fact that the airplanes could not be scrambled doesn't stand a close examination of all the timings involved. A stand down order explains everything.
- the Pentagon could not have been hit by a plane, unless all its debris should have evaporated after the impact. A missile attack is more plausible.
- the identity of the hijackers, if any, is extremely obscure. For D.R. Griffin, much of the evidence that there were hijackers on the planes dissipates upon close examination. The planes could have been flown by remote control. See M.H. Gaffey's book `The 9/11 Mystery Plane and the Vanishing of America'.
- the true identity of Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda is anything but clear.
- cell phone calls could not be made from inside the airplanes.
- a close examination of the official 9/11 Commission Report shows that all controversial points were omitted or the subject of biased interpretations.

It all insinuates that all the deadly attacks were an inside job.
But why? They served as an excuse to wage war. D.R. Griffin: 'Members of the Bush-Cheney administration planned prior to 9/11 invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, after which they hoped to attack five other countries. The commission shielded its readers from evidence that this administration include people with an even more murderous ideology.'

In the meantime, the public media continue to be completely gagged. A rather menacing silence is sometimes overshadowing the TV and radio studios and stations.

D.R. Griffin incriminates nobody. All he wants is a new and independent investigation to discover the truth.

This book with its perfect index and bibliography is a must read for all those interested in the 9/11 massacre and for all those who want to understand the world we live in.

It is a fact of life, if you drop a sledge hammer on your big toe, you are going to feel it, unless of course you've had too many beers and the pain is dulled. When you wake up the next morning, you wonder how come you can't walk without pain or at all. Denial seems to be the "new culture" that has grown up around sports viewing, celebrity nonsense, a diminishing industrial base, over extended armies and an arrogance that America is still "king of the hill." Anyone who has read history, about Rome or any other empire, knows the signs of a country in decay. Denial is the fuel that burns up the backbone of any country.
There is no such thing as a conspiracy theory, or fringe radicals, conservatives or liberals. Those are simply tents in which people house themselves, to launch their view of reality in the form of policies or agendas. None of these tents have to do with the truth or cold hard facts. And ignoring cold hard facts is denial. Read David Ray Griffin's books including this one, an updated version of The New Pearl Harbor, in which he brings more facts about 9/11 to light which are inconsistent with the official "facts" presented to us by the media, by government and a host of vested entities not wanting to face facts about who we have become and who we are. Have the courage to get out of your tent, lay down the labels and make up your own mind but only after reviewing the facts Mr. Griffin puts on the table. Then, when you are through reading this book, if you are troubled by the facts he presents,or even disagree with them, do more research, and watch the videos and corroborating evidence easily accessed on Google, until you come up with a picture that matches reality, not the one you want to believe or need to believe. Why? The country you live in depends upon citizens who face facts. If we are in fact a government for, by and of the people, you have a civic responsibility to educate yourself about hard truths. Why? Ultimately the very freedoms you cherish depend upon your involvement and your ability to educate yourself with facts, not belief systems issued from one tent or another. David Ray Griffin, has done his part to educate himself and others. Read his book and educate yourself. Our country depends upon it. If you read it with an open mind, you will see that as Shakespeare wrote, that something "is rotten in the state of Denmark." Why? Because so many of the facts you accept about 9/11 do not match up with facts Griffin presents. To shuck him off ( or anyone else) as a fringe radical or a conspiracy theorist in the name of protecting yourself, does nothing to change the facts. It just means you don't have the courage to face something you may not want to face. As a pilot, I said, at the time, after the second tower was hit, "There is the longest 20 minutes in modern America History." Why? We were under "attack" the official version goes. The north tower had already been hit, where were the fighter planes to shoot down the second jet before it hit the South Tower to protect our citizens from the "attack?" The US military had 20 minutes to get a jet there and to shoot down anything over NYC. Where was it? It is a fair question. An important question. Start there with the same question and you will be surprised that the answer doesn't jibe with the official account of 9/11. This book, in order to educate yourself, is a masterful account of those "other" facts that don't jibe with the official facts. Read it. You may not like what you find, but at least you will be closer to the "facts" of the case.

That quote bounced through my head as I labored my way through a theologian's take on 9/11. Griffin suffers from a rather severe case of logorrhea, which makes his arguments--when he actually makes arguments, which is seldom--hard to follow.

Robert Heinlein put it best: " . . . what are the facts, and to how many decimal places?"

Don't ask Dr. Griffin for those facts. He won't give them to you.

Griffin's book pretends to ask many questions--but ignores the answers if those answers are at all inconvenient to his . . . "theory" would be far too generous a term for his writings, as "theory" implies that he offers a systematic explanation of the events of 9/11. He doesn't. In fact, he seems to actually oppose any effort to develop such a theory, because in doing so, the theorist opens his arguments to criticism.

When someone runs away from cold, hard fact and retreats into speculation that is explicitly fact-free, he's not worth taking seriously, no matter what your beliefs about 9/11.

If you read this with even a 30% open mind, cover to cover as I did, I regret to say there is only one conclusion you can arrive at, and that is that 9/11/01 was planned and carried out by rogue elements within the Bush administration. Make your coffee strong this morning, your going to need it. Wake up.

It certainly leads one to believe we are led by criminals. Not suprised though!

What undermines the official story most are Griffin's collection of records obtained from various government agencies. Most of all, the "black box" file for American Airlines flight 77 was completed over 4 hours before this "black box" was even found. This suggests tampering or falsification that could only be performed by the federal agencies involved.

Griffin's reference to a U.S. industry patent that describes the remote control capability of the 9/11 planes through the use of auto-pilot and GPS navigation systems, establishes the technological capability for the 9/11 aircraft attacks being carried out by means other than control of the 9/11 aircraft by unqualified and unmotivated hijacker pilots. There is so little evidence that terrorist hijackers were ever behind the controls of the 9/11 planes at all.

Griffin also demonstrates that the 9/11 aircraft "black boxes" are virtually the only ones during the past two decades for which inventory control serial numbers were not published. The authenticity of evidence most vital to the believability of the official 9/11 story seems very much in doubt in light of Griffin's latest findings.

David Ray Griffin is a longtime resident of Santa Barbara, California, was a full-time academic from 1973 until April 2004. He is currently a co-director of the Center for Process Studies, and one of the foremost contemporary exponents of process theology, founded on the process philosophies of Alfred North Whitehead and Charles Hartshorne. He is also a leading exponent of conspiracy theories questioning the mainstream account of the September 11, 2001 attacks.

Griffin grew up in a small town in Oregon, where he was an active participant in his Disciples of Christ church. After deciding to become a minister, Griffin entered Northwest Christian College, but became disenchanted with the conservative-fundamentalist theology that was taught there. While getting his master's degree in counseling from the University of Oregon, Griffin attended a lecture series delivered by Paul Tillich at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California. At this time, Griffin made his decision to focus on philosophical theology. He eventually attended the Claremont Graduate University, where Griffin received his Ph.D. in 1970.

As a student in Claremont, Griffin was initially interested in Eastern religions, particularly Vedanta. However, he started to become a process theologian while attending John B. Cobb's seminar on Whitehead's philosophy. According to Griffin, process theology, as presented by Cobb, "provided a way between the old supernaturalism, according to which God miraculously interrupted the normal causal processes now and then, and a view according to which God is something like a cosmic hydraulic jack, exerting the same pressure always and everywhere (which described rather aptly the position to which I had come)", (Primordial Truth and Postmodern Theology). While applying Whitehead's thought to the traditional theological subjects of christology and theodicy, Griffin found that process theology also provided a sound basis for addressing contemporary social and ecological issues.

After teaching theology and Eastern religions at the University of Dayton, Griffin came to appreciate the distinctively postmodern aspects of Whitehead's thought. In particular, Griffin found Whitehead's nonsensationist epistemology and panexperientialist ontology immensely helpful in addressing the major problems of modern philosophy, including the problems of mind-body interaction, the interaction between free and determined things, the emergence of experience from nonexperiencing matter, and the emergence of time in the evolutionary process. In 1973, Griffin returned to Claremont to establish, with Cobb, the Center for Process Studies.

While on research leave in 1980-81 at Cambridge University and Berkeley, the contrast between modernity and postmodernity became central to his work. Many of Griffin's writings are devoted to developing postmodern proposals for overcoming the conflicts between religion and modern science. Griffin came to believe that much of the tension between religion and science was not only the result of reactionary supernaturalism, but also the mechanistic worldview associated with the rise of modern science in the seventeenth century. In 1983, Griffin started the Center for a Postmodern World in Santa Barbara, and became editor of the SUNY Series in Constructive Postmodern Philosophy between 1987 and 2004.

I predict that Dr. Griffin, whose unflinching courage and integrity is a model for all people of good will, will one day be recognized as one of the most important figures of our time. Without a doubt... a concise, rational, updated examination of the unanswered questions about 9/11/01. Dr. Griffin is a reliable and conscientious source of information about how Americans are being given a fictitious story, and how the story has manipulated them to accept warfare in exchange for their own welfare. Will people recognize it for what it is?

While the original "The New Pearl Harbor" is still considered the starting point for those new to the 9/11 Truth movement, so much additional information has come to light since it was written that Dr. Griffin decided it was time to revisit the subject.

As Dr. Griffin explains, rather than rewrite the original book, wouldn't it be more effective if this edition expanded upon the mountain of new information and understanding regarding the 9/11 cover up since the original was written? A lot has been learned over the past 4+ years.

Thus "The New Pearl Harbor Revisited: 9/11, the Cover-up, and the Expose" should be considered an addition to the original rather than a replacement. In order to pack in as much information as possible in "Revisited" Dr. Griffin assumes you have already read the original.

However, that assumption doesn't mean you can't read and understand this book without reading the original first. Dr Griffin does an excellent job of filling in enough background info to give context and clarity to the discussion.

Consider "Revisited" to be the companion to "The New Pearl Harbor" rather than the replacement. This is a must read if you're interested in understanding where the official version of 9/11 ends and the truth begins.

My favorite part? The extensive footnotes are a wealth of information in their own right.

As soon as I finished reading the book I called my cousin up at college and I apologized to her. She'd been trying to tell the entire family about the 911 Truth and we all have called her crazy for years. I assumed because she was young that she was just wrong. I had watched the videos she'd given to me but part of me was refusing to accept the facts. David Ray Griffin's book has shed pure light on the matter and I cannot live in denial any longer. David Ray Griffin has risked a lot to write this book and to speak out against the biggest crime on American soil ever. He deserves to be heard.

David Ray Griffin has offered up another stellar work. The many little known facts and attendant analysis that he again puts forth here regarding 9/11 makes the official account just seem utterly silly and ridiculous. An emperical mind is only one ingredient neccesary to absorb this informatuion however. You must also be in a place where it is psychologically acceptable to consider the inescapable implications of this material.

David Ray Griffin publishes what I think is his 7th book on the subject of 9/11 conspiracies, making him the most prolific writer, and quite possibly the publishing world's biggest profiteer off of this tragedy. Despite this volume of work though Mr. Griffin has yet failed to form even the vaguest narrative of what he thinks actually happened on this tragic day, and in fact has vociferously spoken out against anyone forming a theory, on the grounds (and correctly so) that if the conspiracy theorists actually form a theory, they will open themselves up to criticism for the weakness of their argument. There is also the fact that if he tried to put together all of his "evidence", full of contradictions, speculations and outright absurdities, it would form a sum total plot which would be laughed off as too fanciful for a comic book. Despite this though Griffin does bizarrely forward some "sub-theories" such as the voice morphing technology straight out of the SciFi movie Terminator 2, which he tries to pass off with a straight face as common everyday technology. This has opened him up for attacks even from the members of his own movement, people who hardly refrain from baseless speculation in general.

In any case, with his "Just Asking Questions" methodology, Griffin's books and even chapters within his books have the curious property of existing entirely independent of each other, requiring no standard for evidence or coherence, instead being an incredible amalgamation fo speculation, quote mining and omission of inconvenient facts. Griffin is never called upon to defend his work, or stand up for its intellectual and academic rigor, something I found out when I sent an e-mail off to the good retired theologian asking him about the claims in the original New Pearl Harbor regarding "multiple eyewitnesses to missiles hitting the Pentagon", a claim Griffin makes even though he cites no examples in the book. Griffin replied as such, when asked to defend his assertions:

"I said lots of things in NPH that I would not say today and that I did not repeat in NPHR, where I specifically corrected at least some of the errors I had made in that earlier book, written 5 years ago."

OK, so would he say this today? That was a somewhat ambiguous answers, so I asked him again, does he stand by the specific passage he wrote, which seemed a simple enough question, what author cannot decide whether he stands by his own works or not?

The answer I received surprised me.

"I am stunned that you do not understand the difference between my quoting what I wrote in 2003, in response to your question of what I was thinking then, and citing it today. I have not cited it for many years. And it sounds like you have not yet read NPHR. If you want to know what I do and do not say today, you'll need to read it."

Apparently Griffin decided this was not a simple question, as he refused to answer it and suggested I buy yet another book from him. However, after reading the chapter on the Pentagon in his new book, I discovered that he is lying yet again. He does not explicitly bring up the section I asked him about, nor does he explicitly reject the bizarre missile theory, only adding that it is controversial. Someone reading both books in sequence would have no idea that there are major parts of the first book which are false, and that he no longer defends.

Well, I suppose if in 6 months I were to ask Dr. Griffin to defend a passage in this book, he would dodge the question and simply tell me to purchase his 8th book, coming soon to a bookstore near you.

You would think that an author who has published 6 books on the same topic would have gained some sort of understanding of the event by the time he wrote his 7th. In Griffins case, you'd be wrong.

You would also think that, after 7 years with no coherent "alternate" theory being offered, people might be getting tired of 9/11 "truth". Unfortunately, David Ray Griffin once again shows us that there is no shortage of suckers willing to shell out cash for any book which purports to expose a conspiracy.

David Ray Griffin exceed expectations again with his new book. It revisits his first book on the subject of 9/11 and shows how the case against the 'official' story has gotten stronger. This is the final nail in the official stories' coffin. There is no doubt now that the events of 9/11/2001 were an inside job, planned and perpetrated by treasonous people inside our own government. This is one of the most important books of our lifetime, since it exposes the biggest lie and fraud against the American people. When The New Pearl Harbor first appeared in 2004, it opened many eyes to the problems with the official story concerning the events of 9/11, and fostered the birth of a research movement known as "9/11 Truth". David Ray Griffin's now eighth book on the subject is, as its title indicates, an updated look -- specifically at the material in his groundbreaking first one.

The four years between the two have brought to light so many contradictions and impossibilities in the official story, and so much new incriminating evidence, that most 9/11 researchers now believe there was no way for the events to have occurred without active planning and execution by members of the United States Government. Over the course of his eight books, Griffin has traced the evolution of his own thought in this direction. The New Pearl Harbor Revisited provides further weight for such conviction.

David Ray Griffin has probably done more than any person living to articulate the failure of the `official' conspiracy theory of what happened on 9/11. In his latest book, 'The New Pearl Harbor Revisited', Griffin has added yet another nail to a coffin that already contains more metal than wood.

Griffin's output of books on the greatest crime in United States history and its appalling and ongoing international consequences is matched by their quality. I've seen just to many documentaries and read to many articles about

As a librarian I am truly staggered by the amount of new information which has come to light through such sources as the oral histories of the Fire Department of New York; the prosecution files from the Moussaoui trial; the emergence of early video footage mounted from home collections on Youtube and Google Video; the release of government files and reports through FOIA requests; the archiving of early newspaper interviews on dozens of websites displaying out-of-print press articles; the various and conflicting flight manifests which have surfaced from the four flights; the seismic reports which reflect the time and intensity of the crashes; the press revelations showing torture was used by the CIA to extract evidence from al Qaeda operatives; and new historical accounts such as New York Times reporter Philip Shenon's 2008 "The Commission: The Uncensored History of the 9/11 Investigation."

Meanwhile, the government and media have consistently sought to dispel this body of emerging "conspiracy" evidence. making a number of corrections to the record, but adding a great deal of detail and new
information that has been uncovered since its publication in 2004. Even those members
of the 9/11 Truth Movement who have immersed themselves thoroughly in the subject
will find new information here, presented in the precise, and very readable style Dr.
Griffin has brought to each of his books on the subject. Readers who are new to the
subject would do well to start with the first volume, since it still provides one of the best
presentations of the basic facts available. Readers experienced with 9/11 analysis and
research in all its forms, likely will not be astonished by revelations in this work - our
capacity to be surprised has been somewhat dulled by the daily parade of insults to
intelligence that pass for governance in the era of Bush, but they will be gratified by the
well-researched detail and rational arguments that are hallmarks of Dr. Griffin's work.
In "Revisited", to pick an example, the section dealing with the information brought
out by the London Sunday Times on Sibel Edmonds, who defied a gag order to expose
corruption, espionage, high-level protection of foreign agents, and proliferation of
nuclear technology - all studiously ignored by the domestic media - is a grim illustration
of the debased state to which our "free press" has devolved. The quiet deconstruction of
former Solicitor General Ted Olson's report, in which he related details about the alleged
hijacking of Flight 77 based on phone calls that the FBI now claims did not occur,
should have caused headlines in the Washington Post, but at least the record is
corrected here.
As in his previous book - 9/11 Contradictions and its predecessors - he presents
evidence that exposes the inadequacies and sometimes the mendacity of the official
explanation, as represented by the 9/11 Commission Report and the thinning ranks of
its defenders. In doing so, his primary focus is on those incompatibilities between the
official account and the public record, or instances where the public record has been
manipulated or distorted to bolster a misleading view of events.
The already long list of inconsistencies, impossibilities, unexplained conflicts, circular
arguments, and downright contradictions in the Commission's official conspiracy theory
is further burdened by another heaping helping with this volume. Were the media the
least bit interested in the pursuit of the true story of 9/11, the official story and the
actions enabled by the passive acceptance of it by a fearful public and a cowed
Congress would most likely have already collapsed.
The Truth movement, in which Dr. Griffin has played a leading, perhaps dominant
role, has brought forward a very large body of evidence buried or omitted by the
commission ostensibly assembled to investigate the event. The efforts of the media
establishment to confine knowledge and public discourse about this evidence to a
counter-culture ghetto have been remarkably effective. When the subject does surface
in the mainstream, it is subjected to ridicule and dismissal with the inevitable ready-
made pejorative "conspiracy theory", which is invariably applied to non-approved
versions of events, discouraging the average citizen from taking it seriously. In this
book, and several others, it is made clear that the government version is, itself, no less
a conspiracy theory, and a far-fetched one at that. Dr. Griffin, in his books and with an
energetic lecture schedule, is doing his part and more to break out of this ghetto. His
calm and rational examination of the matter does him and the movement great credit.
The secrecy with which the current administration conducts itself, and its
documented efforts to propagate self-serving propaganda, do nothing to inspire
confidence that they have dealt, or will ever deal, with the issues of 9/11 with any more
integrity than they showed in the buildup to the invasion of Iraq. On the contrary, the
way the administration has dealt with 9/11 appears more and more an inseparable part
of a strategy to establish the "War on Terror" as a brand name for a long-term imperial
foreign policy. As it stands, the most charitable possible reading of administration
actions and the subsequent Commission Report is as a criminal coverup that makes
Watergate look like a tea party.
With the cooperation of a supine press and a complicit Congress, and despite what
appears to be breathtaking incompetence emanating from the top, the machinery of
empire grinds forward, appearing to have Iran in its sights. This book throws more sand
in the gears of that machinery. A great many in the Truth movement believe that the key
to stopping the endless chain of war, infringements on our rights, and human rights
abuses, all committed in our name and allegedly to keep us "safer", is exposure of the
truth about 9/11 and holding those who are truly responsible to account. Absent a
revival of investigative journalism - a dim prospect at best, in view of the media
ownership concentration - books like this one, arming the informed citizen with solid
information and providing a basis for demanding direct action, appear to be our best
hope.
