Here is a review that wasnt written by one of the authors in the self help author circle.
The way I found this book to be written was clear, concise and to the point and did an excellent job decribing the how and why scientifically all this is supposed to work on a quantum mind level. I suppose I buy that. I have seen things like that in my life. But I also have doubts, as I am a poker player.
After the world series of poker was won in 2005 we all knew who the winner was. Fossilman was the guys name. It takes incredible skill AND amazing luck to win the world series of poker. With over 20,000 entrants the chances of being the last one standing is pretty small indeed, skill non withstanding. Many of the top pros just dont have the cards go thier way as dictated by chance. You can be standing there in an all in situation against a pro (those that play or watch poker on cable know what Im talking about) and you are subject to random chance as the cards are drawn off the deck. If you flop the set you stay, if not, youre out and you go home. This sends many pros home and many ameteurs who do not possess the pros skill end up eventually winning the WSOP. In 03 a guy won that played for several years and entered in a contest online to get a seat at the WSOP(World Series of Poker) and won the whole thing. Astronomical odds. But someones gotta win, and there is going to be someone left standing at the end of the World Series of Poker, just as there is a 1 in 80,000,000 million multi state lottery winner. Anyway, watching the rerun tape of the WSOP (that I knew Fossilman won) I watched him win improbable hand after stunning just made the card he needed at the last second hand. Knowing he would be the eventual winner let me marvel at the raw luck this guy was enountering as he knocked off person after pro after guy, weaving his way through the tables knocking off his opponents to end up being the winner.
And thats my point. These two guys (authors) that wrote this book. Could it be that they were just two lottery winners of life that just so happened to be 2 out of 200,000,000 people that were at the right place at the right time every time like the guy that kept winning hands at the WSOP? Given a big enough population size, statistics dictate that there will be through random chance several SEVERE winners out of 200,000,000 non winners. There are 300,000,000 million people in the United States, 90% of which live check to check. Then there are these two guys that just so happened to win at everything they did and they became rich.

Perhaps the error of these two authors was to turn around and personalize statistical odds and think they could develop a system that could include the other 200,000,000 people that didnt win in their winning circle. But the problem with that is that capitalism is by nature a pyramid. The wealthy few exist at the top help up by the base of the majority of the others through services and the manufacture of goods.

Lets say everyone in America got a check from the government for 10,000,000 million dollars. Inflation non withstanding, what would happen? WOOOOO! Im a multi millionare! Youd want to be tended to, to buy stuff, be pampered, go on vacation. But why would the guy at the hotel serve you? He got a check for 10,000,000 too. So did the janitor. So did the pilot of the plane. No one is working, they all expect to be waited on as they are now rich. No one is building, manufacturing, producing food, everyone quits thier jobs. Suddenly if everyone has money, no one wants to work as THEY expect to be waited on. Suddenly the money is worthless, and we are back to trading beans. Not everyone can win and be rich.
Good book, good science behind it, I just decided to throw on a pair of horns and make the case for the other side. I guess Im going to find out if this really works within the next two months as I am going to do this every day.
Good luck people. And yes, I gave this max stars cause at least it got my hope up. We will see if it delivers: me sitting in my own house with a mercedes and Range Rover in the garage.

Excellent! This book allowed me to get out of the business that I spent a few years unsuccessfully trying to perform a CPR on and to get involved (successfully) with the business that I would never even attempt to join before I read this book! I literally force everybody on my team to study this book and also The Four Hour Work Week. Success in small business is more achievable than most of business owners think and "small" business can generate rather "big" money turned out!
The book addresses probably all of the aspects of small business development and the most important lesson that it teaches - it's not the business that fails, it's the business owner's inability to run it successfully.
I have a university degree in economics and most of the stuff this book has I didn't hear from my professors about. The matter of fact I think this book gave me more helpful information about how to run my business than four years in college!

I really enjoyed this book. As an entrepreneur, it can be challenging to keep a positive mindset and focused on one's goals and reasons for being in business in the first place. This book does a great job of explaining the laws of attraction, gestation, and action. What I took away is primarily the vision, visualization, and affirmation work that I'm incorporating into my morning routine after meditation. I can't speak for it's effectiveness quite yet; however, I do feel my mindset is more focused.

The chapters on elevator speeches, unique selling proposition, ideal customer, and benefits were very helpful. There are 1000's of books on those subjects and I believe the authors here do a superb job of making these concepts more accessible and useful.

I believe the weakness of the book is action. While the book speaks of the necessity of action, the exercises are really about developing one's mindset. Perhaps it's the chapter that gets into marketing where this is more glaring. Even the recommended reading doesn't give one much to go on. Perhaps adding Guerilla Marketing for Consultants would help complete the program. The information on creating a compelling advertisement is very useful and concise.

Overall this book attempts much and succeeds.

I thought "The Answer" was an outstanding read. It does an exceptional job of combining powerful research from the fields of neuroscience, quantum physics, and other disciplines with practical, results-oriented business strategy. For me, it brought credibility to some of the most important concepts regarding the Law of Attraction. Likewise, it highlighted some critical success strategies for business owners (much like some of the E-Myth content). All of that combined with a friendly, down-to earth writing style and a collection of excellent real-world examples. This book will go on my list of recommended reading for clients and readers due to its accessibility and real-world application.

(Hide Review...)  Logical, Sensible, and Motivational Advice for business owners
Reviewer Permalink
John Assaraf, author and a key speaker in the movie The Secret, has partnered with entrepreneur Murray Smith to create an instructional tool for business owners. The Answer is aimed primarily at small business owners who may not be experiencing success commensurate with their efforts. The premise merges the principles of The Law of Attraction with common sense marketing strategies to jump start lackluster sales. The authors have transformed themselves into multi-millionaires utilizing the techniques they expound in the book.

Both authors have a "rags to riches" story to relate that exemplifies the potential behind following their plan. Assaraf was a poor immigrant who fell into gang activity in high school and lost a promising athletic career to injury. Smith was a special needs student, labeled as learning disabled and directed into vocational school to begin a career cleaning sewers.

Despite the obstacles laid before them and the limited encouragement they received, they refused to place limits on their chances of success. Each man went on to create multiple thriving business ventures. They have surrounded themselves with wealth and prosperity.

Assaraf and Smith begin by explaining that each has unique skills and expertise that complement the other, therefore the book is divided into two separate focuses. The first half is written by Assaraf and centers around positive affirmations and visualization. He provides exercises for neural reconditioning. Murray's second half guides the reader in marketing and strategy, identifying the ideal customer, and working to attract that customer to the business.

The Answer is the most logical book to be veined from the empire that has arisen around The Secret. It draws on scientific evidence and quantum physics to prove the validity of the Law of Attraction. Beyond the law, it provides valuable analytical tools for proving a business' worth to potential customers. The rules can be applied to any venture a person decides to undertake, whether it be business or personal.

The writing style is straightforward and unencumbered. Possible questions the text may evoke are addressed in various locations throughout each chapter. Assaraf and Smith provide some revolutionary insight into recognizing the barriers small business owners can create for themselves.

As a reader, I know there is an incredible amount of hype surrounding The Secret and its many facets. The participants are banking unimaginable profits from the subsets of the idea they have individually created. In fact, I just read today that Joe Vitale is releasing a new course titled The Awakening and Marci Shimoff is hosting a PBS special by the same name of her book Happy for No Reason. But I can't help but believe in the legitimacy of the core theme that we create our own realities. Science is providing more evidence of this every day. If these books serve as nothing more than motivational tools, that's great. But really considering the subject matter can open readers up to many realms of possibility and create a positive influence in daily life.

On that note, I have to say that I highly recommend The Answer. I recommend it to business owners, entrepreneurs, intellectuals, spiritual seekers, and Law of Attraction junkies. Use it as the next step in rounding out your attraction strategy.

"The Answer" is inspiring asking you to dare to live your dream but it also offers practical ideas to help you grow your business. When I read the book I felt that I could reach for the stars but the practical ideas in the book kept my feet firmly planted on the ground. Definitely worth reading if you're looking for ways to apply the Law of Attraction in your own business.

Another must-read is "Nexus: A Neo Novel." I found it an inspiring journey where deeper truths are hidden in a brilliant psychological adventure tale.

I am a college student majoring in business, looking to expand my way of thinking, and this book certainly has done that. It opens your mind to things other than the random things that don't matter in life, that we all seem to stress out about. It is more than a business book with some insight into the law of attraction. It does much more than that. I am extremely impressed with this book, and will keep it forever, you should see all the tags I made in the pages of this book!!
Without a doubt in my mind, 5 stars!

(Hide Review...)  Two Authors . . . Two Books

Before I got halfway through this book, I was so excited I wanted to go ahead and write a glowing 5-star review of it. But I decided to wait until I finished reading the entire book, and I'm glad I did, because the second half is nothing like the first. It is obvious that this book was written by two very different authors. I would describe the first half as "What The Bleep" meets "The Secret" . . . only it is an improvement on both. It takes the information in the DVD "What The Bleep" and makes it completely understandable. And it takes the promises of "The Secret" and makes them believable, adding in the practical aspects of taking action. I was so inspired by the first half of this book that I reclaimed a vision I had started to lose sight of, and miracles to support that vision began to appear in my life immediately. And then I went on the second half of the book, which I would describe as Business/Marketing 101. It was like taking a college class on how to establish and grow a successful business . . . complete with all the homework. There were so many lists to make and surveys to conduct that I felt completely overwhelmed, and very bored. It almost gave me the impression that you could ignore the first half of the book and succeed in business by sheer marketing savvy alone. I know this information is helpful . . . and probably necessary . . . but it was so complicated and detailed that it took the wind right out of my sails. You will note that I still gave this book a 4-star review, because that is how good the first half is. And hey, if you are a very business-minded individual, you might think the second half is the best part, and that's fine. I'm just sharing my personal experience with you.

One day I was bouncing around the internet and researching as usual and I can't even remember what I was looking for now because once I stumbled onto "The Answer" I ordered it from Amazon. The day it arrived I read it halfway through before putting it down for the first time to break for sleep. After reading it through one time and going back through it again with a highlighter all my pages were yellow. There is so much knowledge and wisdom in between those 2 covers I was absolutely amazed. It would take significant editing to get this book up to mediocre. Poorly organized, speciously reasoned and over-promised.

Like another reviewer, I read a lot of self-help books and have written one (Living an Extraordinary Life--available here on Amazon)that has been well received by people who have actually read it.

Am I the only "growth groupie" who is increasingly suspicious of any book or seminar promoted by the Jack Canfield/Jay Abraham/Bob Proctor crowd?

And didn't some very talented personal development gurus release a wonderful DVD last year titled ..... The Answer? http://www.gettheanswer.org/moviepreview.html

Perhaps obviously, I've got integrity issues with this book in addition to it being a lousy read.

This book answers many important questions that you may have about creating a successful business, especially the question of paramount importance 'how am I going to make money in my business?'

This book spells out in incredible detail the processes of the mind and how it effects the results of our current life as we know it. I must commend them on the thorough explanation, though felt it could be summarised in a chapter. If it was purely about the mind then so be it, however I did struggle to get through this part, a little brainy so to speak. From there the wisdom John and Murray inpart on the virtues of setting up a successful business, along with amazing scenarios to demonstrate how to do it, is priceless. Before I get into discussing this book I would like to tell a bit of a personal story relating to this book. It is a story that hopefully might even make the book even more interesting to prospective readers. To relate this story to you will make my review a good bit longer than normal, but please bear with me because this story really does have to do with what's in this book...

Last year I watched the international phenomenon, The Secret, which has swept the globe with its message: "Everything that you have, make or do happens because of your thoughts. Everything that happens to you, whether you wanted it to happen or not, was attracted to you by your subconscious mind. This is known as the Law of Attraction. If you want to have a better life, use the Law of Attraction to your benefit."

What The Secret was putting out there was that we are responsible for our own conditions but we need to align what we want in life with our subconscious before we can truly change.

I took this in as positive thinking, as a "philosophy", so to speak but I decided to give the Law of Attraction a try. But after putting a small amount of effort into its practice by trying to manifest some small things - a second trip to Egypt in the same year, an interview in a newspaper, etc., I found the Law of Attraction to be rather true in my life. Thus with no more guidance than the information in that film I started experimenting with one of my businesses last year, a business that hadn't been faring too well in the recent past. To my joy this business turned around and doubled in size within ten months. I then used the same principles to find my sweetheart and in a matter of weeks I found a wonderful girl, just as I had imagined her to be even before I knew her. And after that I turned my attention to a second business I had in December of 2007 and now it is double the size that it was when I started using these principles.

In the course of all of this I moved to Bangkok, Thailand, from Saigon, Vietnam. In Bangkok I have met many new and very interesting people. One day I was called out of the blue by a friend I hadn't seen in a while. She asked me to come to a showing of The Secret which was being held by a Belgian man named Guy, who was interested in the Law of Attraction. I dropped everything I was doing that Sunday and came to the showing. I came not so much to see the movie again, although that was a side benefit, but I really was interested to meet people who were using these principles in their lives so that I could compare notes and see how this was working in their lives. I was there to offer my experiences and to gain from others. Guy and I with another Belgian, Chris, formed our own monthly meeting group.

But something had always bothered me about The Secret: It wasn't enough. I felt like the information in The Secret was more of an advertisement than a practical way of doing things. I decided to focus on finding a guide, a teacher who could take me further into the nitty gritty of how we should use these principles to improve our lives on a day-to-day basis. I decided to "intend" a teacher to come into my life - a teacher who could show me both a much deeper understanding of what I was doing as well as how to use these principles in a practical way.

Two days after I made the intention of finding my teacher came the e-mail from Norm Goldman of BookPleasures.com. The public relations firm representing John Assaraf and Murray Smith was requesting a review of their new book, The Answer.

Recognizing John Assaraf's name from The Secret immediately, I jumped at the chance to review this book.

Coincidence? Stay with me. My story about this book doesn't end there.

I remembered John Assaraf's name especially for two reasons: First, one of the most poignant scenes in The Secret is when his six year old son finds a five year old vision board in a corrugated moving carton. In explaining to his son the purpose of this vision board John realized that the perfect home he'd wished for five years earlier was exactly the home he was living in at that time! (This amazing and thought provoking story is well covered in both the film and book versions of The Secret as well as in John's book The Answer, so I won't go into great detail about the matter).

The second reason I remembered John Assaraf's name is because it reminded me of a friend who I was trying to reach and had decided some time ago to find out about. At university I had a friend named Marc Assaraf. So the day the advance reading copy of The Answer arrived in my office in Bangkok I checked John and Murray's website for their One Coach business and I e-mailed John asking him whether he would be interested in helping me with any questions I had about the book (he responded that he would). But at the end of the e-mail I asked whether, just by chance, he had ever heard of someone named Marc Assaraf. It turned out that Marc Assaraf was John's own brother!

From my point of view, I could take this situation for a very, very wild coincidence, or I could take it that my receiving John's and Murray's book was a convergence of two intentions that I had clearly stated and wanted the manifestation of. Both answer could not be true.

To make matters even more "coincidental", the very day that I finished reading The Answer I received an e-mail from Chet Holmes inviting me to a conference call with none other than John Assaraf. I opened this e-mail less than one hour after finishing the last page of this amazing book!

Needless to say, this was a conference call that I participated in and gained much from.

The Answer is a well written book that explains exactly how such a "coincidence" occurs. At least in the first half of the book it does.

In the first chapters John Assaraf explains scientifically how your mind and mine are connected to the world through our subconscious and how we can change the poor results we have been getting, whether it be relationships, financial, professional, etc. I really have to admit that when I first opened the book I felt a bit strange reading all about the science behind this. What I was looking for was the quick, practical tips that would help me to better use the principles of the Law of Attraction. (John Assaraf prefers to use "Law of Resonance"). By the middle of the book all of John's painstaking research that he shared made sense - John put all of his findings in so that we'd know exactly the whys of the how to make the changes in our lives. Don't get me wrong, I was not saying that the first part of the book was not interesting. Just the contrary, it was extremely interesting. I didn't see its necessity until later in the book when it all came together and then it all came clear.

John's long-time friend and business partner Murray Smith took the latter part of the book where he gave advice on how to determine where you might be in your business and where you want to go (some of this was covered in John's section of the book, though the two authors were coming from slightly different angles). Murray then gave some excellent tools for both entrepreneurs as well as people who worked for others to be able to use in order to turn their businesses around and to guide the reader on how reach their goals. Both Murray Smith and John Assaraf gave many examples of how their clients had discovered where they had been going wrong and turned their businesses and organizations around. There are also plenty of practical resources in this book for the reader to use immediately.

Trust me. If you want to enrich your life or change something in your business in any meaningful way then read this book. Devour it. Digest it. Once you have read The Answer of course you can draw your own conclusions on what these guys are saying. But I am willing to bet that if you follow their advice you will feel like magic has come into the way you do things. Planning becomes fun and effortless. You will see doors opening for you that before were not just only closed - some of the doors weren't even there! Take it from me: You have nothing to lose and so much to gain by using Murray's and John's advice. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to know how to get more out of their life.

This is not only a very good read, it is also a excellent source of helpful guidance. A modern day combination of The Power of Positive Thinking, and so many other self help books of the past, this one adds a few new wrinkles that will make the purchase price a mere pitance when compared to the benefits derived from reading this book.

As a business owner and a student of success literature, I make this book a must read! There are certain books every person must read, such as "Think and Grow Rich." This book helps explain the science behind the principles taught by Napoleon Hill in "Think and Grow Rich."

And this book is not limited to just business owners. Everyone should learn, know, internalize, and use this information in your life. This material will help you be more and do more then you ever thought possible. Because when you learn that your thoughts create your reality, you will begin to change your thoughts!

If you haven't read Think and Grow Rich, get it and read it! Then, watch The Secret (Extended Edition). These other 2 resources and this book will pull everything together. You will be unstoppable!

Having heard John speak, I expected The Answer to be a great read with much wisdom. I was not disappointed. Although very business orientated(as the full title suggests), The Answer is right up there and possibly surpasses Think And Grow Rich. This is a "must read" for anyone contemplating going into business, in business today, or wishing to enhance their career prospects through helping the company they work for expand. Obviously much of the information can be adapted to other areas of one's life.

...I would recommend it be this book. I personally try to read at least one book per month if time permits, but if I had to choose between the 3 other books that I already read this year, I would choose this one in a heartbeat.

The methods are so simple yet so effective. It was a real eye opener for me and I am already taking steps to move forward in my career, my finances, my relationships and my business. I now know that I can acheive anything in all these areas.

I have read many books over the past 10 years on personal development, business, real estate, management, etc... always looking for that key that would unlock the door to a better future for me and without a doubt, I would have to say that this book truly is "The Answer" I've been looking for. An absolute must-read!

Yes, the Law of Attraction lives on and the author does a great follow up of The Secret and other books on this topic. I have to tell you there are many out there and this is such easy reading. However, would like to recommend my favorite because not only does it give information, but shows you how through exercises and a journal to record your transformation,Living The Secret Everyday: My Secret Workbook. A must read too.

I have read other books about how to run a business, etc., but I loved the way this one blends the law of attraction with running a business. This one will be by my side for a long time, unlike all the others that I turned around and sold on an auction site to get some of my money back. There is a lot of great information in this book to help you build the business and life of your dreams!

After the big build up and glowing reviews I expected something amazing. Starts off with pseudo science mumbo jumbo consisting of a Star Wars "use the force" theme - a very long stretch from Quantum Physics theory to how you can change your future. Moves through some physcology on how to change your self view and see yourself as a "winner". It then goes on to more realistic, but fairly basic, market segmentation advice for targetting your customer base with a continuous plug for their consultancy company throughout. All in all, yet another book written by a couple of guys who cant quite believe they just happened to win life's lottery and therefore have to try and retrofit some clever strategy/methedology to what they have achieved instead of realizing that 95% of it was being in the right place at the right time - "if you just wish for it and work hard enough you will get your dream life" - use it but dont expect it's a guarantee to get the winning ticket and dont believe the hype. Expect the Donny Deutsch genre of "just go out there and max out your credit cards/debt to achieve your dream business" - they never interview the 85% of people who crash and burn.

The book is truly a primer, blue print for any one starting a business or wanting to excel in the life and in business.
The Harvard School of Business should make this book required reading and study.
I enjoyed reading the two different writing and business styles of both authors. Usually when people co-author a book, the reader does not feel the personality of both authors. This book is unique in that respect, and that makes the book even more interesting.
I gleened so much from the rereading of this book, but by far Chapter 15 was the crowning glory for me. This chapter summarized the mindset of a business person THINKING BIG.

This book has a great deal of interesting information. I really enjoyed the chapter "The Universe Inside Your Brain." I am also a student of the original Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill, however it sometimes frustrates me with how outdated some of the belief systems are. If you want a book that is fresh, full of interesting things about how your brain works, as well as easy to follow---I highly suggest you read this book.

I just finished the book last week while on vacation and I strongly feel that the information that it provided will help me to grow my business and to get to the "next level". John and Murray are inspirational in both their business and personal lives.

This book, like The Secret itself, requires action and commitment on the part of the reader to achieve the full benefits that is has to offer.

I really liked the book. It is packed full of great techniques to really 'program' yourself for success. I've heard of these techniques before (and used many) but this book puts all the ideas into one step by step system. And many more new ideas in this book. It gets a little 'technical' at the begining but once you get through that, it is an easy read.

The SecretThe Secret [UNABRIDGED CD] (Audiobook)The Secret (Extended Edition)Having It All: Achieving Your Lifes Goals and Dreams
I am a huge fan of John Assaraf from reading his previous book "Having It All", reading & re-reading his contributions to "The Secret" plus having heard him speaking live at business seminars.

John is one smart business person with a very kind heart, and he has success experience to back it all up. "The Answer" is not an easy read. You have to be committed to improving your mindset AND Life. If you are open-minded to the recent reasearch of Quantum Physics, then I highly recommend that you commit to buying AND studying "The Answer" - not once, but over and over again. This information can change your life - if you let it.
