True to the Game III begins where part 2 left off. Gena wakes up in a unfamiliar surroundings all bruised and bandage. Wondering who saved her life from the brutal attack which was caused by Jerrell. She receive the shock of her life when she comes face to face with her true love and savior Quadir, who was suppose to have been shot and killed.

There are so many unanswered questions that Gena is looking for answers from Quadir. Of course she is highly upset because how could he go this long without letting her know that he was still amongst the living. Quadir takes us back to the night he was shot up and how he survived, his rehabilitation with the help of Dr. Amelia Hopkins, and how he was the one behind keeping her safe when she thought someone was following her. The question is has Quadir moved on with his life or is Gena his one and only true love?

True to the Game III is a pretty good read, but not one of Mrs. Woods best. The book did keep my attention. The book also went different ways, there a few people after Gena including some crooked cops but in the end will justice prevail?

Gena has gone through too much in regards to Qua's money. I don't understand why the doctor was even bought in as a love interest for Qua. what woman, doctor or not, will be so understanding to just let a man go like this one did in this book? then Qua's mother was so against Gena not liking her etc but rooted for her to be with her son after the way she treated her. i understand about the protecting his still being alive but please give me a break already.

Qua was supposed to have been so gansta yet he was too weak to command his money back from Gena bump asking and all that i'll never speak to you again if you don't give it to me crap. no real hustla is going to have that nonsense. then the crooked officers how stupid were they and the sista cop ellington was such a sellout. i wanted to shoot her myself to put her out of her misery. Rik was so out of character. i understand he was inbetween a rock and a hard place but come on now...would he really try kill Gena when she was offering him half a mill to help him out over money she would give him so freely anyway? i think not. he was there for her so of course she would've always felt a sense of loyalty to him when it came to money and he was Qua's bestfriend. and why would Qua kill rashun instead of seeing what was really up and helping him help himself? but being the gentleman that Qua is he leaves a punk azz letter and money for his mother like that's supposed to make everything alright. i believe having her son alive and well would've been even better and what was the point of ever having the other boy to kill his father? we never knew what happened to him outside of being in prison.

with all this being said and based on other readers reviews, i am not alone when i say this but i hope this is the end of the true to tha game series because i was highly dissapointed.

Although part III is much better than part II it is still a far cry from the original "True to the Game"...Now II left us believing that Ms. Woods actually made a "Young & the Restless" move & brought Quadir back to life so it was no surprise to learn the identity of Gena's savior...I've always LOVED Quadir & envied the love he had for Gena...So if u read I & II then u might as well read III...Ms. Woods I'm now looking forward to the completion of the "Angel" & "Deadly Reigns" series....can u please make it happen?!

TRUE TO THE GAME III, the third book of the Teri Woods trilogy, takes you on a hunt through the streets of Philly where the second book left off. Gena awakens and discovers herself injured and in new surroundings. She has much to deal with as she goes into hiding, as she remembers she has lost the love of her life. She's confused, frightened and hurt and makes too many mistakes which put her in grave danger. Meanwhile, a thug with a serious appetite for killing is searching the streets to slaughter and destroy anyone in his path to Gena.

Although the copy reviewed was an advanced reading copy, it was clearly well-written and very descriptive, more so than book one and two, but I felt as if I was reading a different story by a different writer. It is a wonderful thing to see growth in writers; unfortunately, growth hindered the street edge of this series. TRUE TO THE GAME III has lost the street edge that propelled book one to the top of the street fiction field and doesn't seem as "true to the game."

This book focused too much on the crooked cops and not enough on Gena. Gena appeared weak, without any street credibility and I found myself wondering who this book was about and why it was written. Though the book had drama, it was not enough to match the predecessors. Teri Woods was at the top of her game previously; unfortunately, TRUE TO THE GAME III fell short of what I expected from her.

This book really took it there. It shows how a vengeful brother can really seek revenge. By going after your family and friends and even your elderly grandma. That was the ultimate disgrace and I wish Jerrod could have been taken out to suffer more than he actually had. I hate the fact that Gena is such a weakling. You'd think growing up in Richard Allen would have made her stronger. She is one of the most naive characters that I have ever read about. Now the way Quadir was resurrected was sweet! I have to give Ms. Woods her props for that. His bff betrayed him in the worse way. Money really is the root of all evil. Cops, loyal servants and even your family members sometimes turn on you because of it. But I still have to go back and re-read part one because of the long release delay of two and three. I guess part 1 was re-released but I read it first years ago. No way to remember all that happened from eight years ago but I'm glad this one was released not to long after part 2.

I liked the first True to the Game book, and the second was okay it was interesting to say the least. This last one somewhat disappointed me. I understood what the author was doing and I think the story could have been really great. This book left me questioning a gang of things in the second book, by now everybody knows it was Quadir that saved her, well why in the world did it take so long, he'd could have been and got to her and explained the situation, he'd been following and watching her all that time and Jerrell wasn't with her 24/7. In this book Gena was even stupider than in the first one, I hated the way that she didn't seem to grow or mature really at all she was still some flashy hood chick worried about how she'd stay laced in Gucci and Gold, worried about herself. I liked the twist and turns and how she had to go through all that stuff, I just didn't like the fact that the author kept her in that stereotypical stigma of being this dumb tail girl. Then again, Quadir seemed just as air headed as her, so maybe they are a match made in heaven. And I agree the ending was not what I expected and I was very disappointed that she didn't go into more detail about their relationship. In all it was okay, the twist and turns were interesting not enough about the lead characters though, and the ending was very rushed and left you wondering how all of that even came about, but an okay book to read if your waiting in the doctors office or your cable is out lol, or your just plain ol bored. Get it from the Library though.

It a beautiful love story with many twisted situations. I would absolutely reccommend it to my friends or anyone else. If you are going to read one, read all three, their worth it. Loved this book!!

I really enjoyed this book. I read it in a few hours. This was a huge step up from the second installment, which I rated horribly. Things really seem to come together, there were many suprises and the ending was great. She developed thje characters better this time around and Gina didn't look like a complete fool.

i read part one when i was in my mid 30 it was good then, when i read part two and three im in my 40. i really thought part two and three was for the younger readers, the only reason i read part three was because i just wanted to finish the sequels, to see how things would end. i did not enjoy part three.
maybe for me it was a maturity thing, where i was at then and where im at now. if you really want to finish the series read it, get it from the library or borrow it from a friend.

In True to the Game III by Teri Woods, Gena's life is at stake. Out of the gate, she is attacked and an unknown hero comes to save her. After the assault, she awakened in a strange bed, in an unfamiliar home and with little clues to what exactly happened. Gena had many unanswered questions. But one question was more important when she stood ace-to-face with her deceased fiancé, Quadir; why are you not dead?

Explaining his death was the easy part for Quadir. Telling her he loved someone else was not as easy and caused her to flee. With the twenty million dollars she inherited because of his death, Gena could definitely make a new life without him. At least she thought she could until a barrage of violence, targeting her family and close friends, made her escape out of necessity. But it is hard to run away from something when you do not know who or what you are running from and why you are running from them. That was Gena's dilemma.

True to the Game III was a fast-paced, action-packed read. There is a little work needed in character development as it seems the author wrote this for readers who have read the first two parts. I connected with the characters via the situations presented, not so much because of their personalities. I am sure this third installment will tie up loose ends for TTTG fans and it would work decently as a stand alone. I did not care for the ending and found it not only fluffy, but told more then showed. Die hard fans would probably love it, but I encourage new readers to start with the first book.

I was disappointed in this book. I enjoyed True to the Game I and I even liked II but part III was just too unbelievable. The way Q comeback to life was unbelievable and then falling in love with the doc that nursed him back to health was just whack. The only reason I finished reading was to find out what was going to happen. The storyline was just too outrageous for me to believe. I would not recommend anyone waste his or her money on this book. Terri Woods has other books that you could spend your money on.

Ok, let me start by saying that i was a fan from day one of the very first installment of true to the game..part 2 was ok but this one right here was unbelievable! First off it was long and drawn out for no apparent reason, then her reasons for someone who was clearly dead in the first book to come back alive was farfetched! I thought i was reading a bad episode from Passions! i mean the author knows that we all love Gena and Quadir and the fact that she never put them together in this book puzzled me. I mean i was very disappointed. I know Terri can do better! she just should have left well enough alone...
To all those that are a fan of the very first book, i dont recommend you buying part 2 or 3. She dropped the ball ..big time! i wish i would have never read them!

Of course I read Part 1 about 7 or 8 yrs. ago. I'll be honest and say that I did not go back and read it to refresh my memory. However, I believe that Part 3 was able to stand on its own in comparison with Part 2, because that was whack, and simply a waste of resources. I agree that the Gena was too damn gullible and made moves that were out of character. Perhaps Quadir and his mom realized the fact that they were given a 2nd chance and were making decisions based off of that fact.(Trying to be better individuals and living life with no regrets, regardless of the consequences) The plot was indeed a bit shaky, but it kept me on the edge of my seat wondering how it would play out. Greed & Vengeance reared their ugly heads, but the acts of selflessness had to count for something. As I stated before it was ok, and kind of what I've come to expect from this author; mediocrity at best. Check it out for yourself, you may enjoy it.....

I can't explain how much I was in love the character Qua. I wish he was real. Not even cuz he was majorly ballin, but he was for real, real. I enjoyed part III. I couldn't wait to get home and run to the mail box. Qua gives me hope. Keep writing books Miss Woods.Your doing your thang , you should be a proud black woman. You have a beautiful mind.MUch love..I really can't explain how much I enjoyed these last 3 books. I liked Gina a lot too. Keep up the good work. P.S I was going to be mad if Gina and Qua didn't end up together at the end. I thought the ending was perfecT. Miss Hawkins
