This book provides some good rough outlines of high level laws in various states, but it claims to be a "Traveler's Guide", and as such, lacks some extremely important information.

I realize that a concise, efficient book cannot address all firearms laws thanks to the tens of thousands on the books, however it leaves out some major issues which would apply to travelers.

The first example that springs to mind would be restaurant laws. Everyone I know who travels relies on restaurants at some point during their journey. In many states, the laws vary about the legality of firearms in restaurants...whether alcohol is served or available, the percentage of income derived from alcohol, rules about posting signs, etc. The book simply does not cover this or similar issues.

What the book DOES address are the state-by-state legal implications of transporting a firearm in your vehicle...that's really it. So it's really more of a "Laws About Transporting Firearms in the 50 states" rather than being completely useful to general travelers who happen to bring a firearm on their trip.

I live near the border of 3 different states, so I got this guide to keep in the car. It's extremely useful to have so I can quick reference which states honor my carry permit and which do not. Even states that might honor it have different laws concerning whether you can carry concealed or open, how to transport it in the vehicle, and what type of establishments might prohibit firearms.

The guide also gives a quick reference chart at the top that shows you how 2A friendly each state is (or rather, which states are abiding by the laws of our Constitution and which ones are in violation of them.

I would recommend this guide to anyone who travels armed, especially if you are planning a trip but it's always good to have this on hand. The guide was shipped quickly as well and arrived in excellent condition.

I find the guide to be very informative. I travel a fair amount using a motorhome accross many states. This guide will help me to follow each states laws.

If you own a GUN and have a concealed weapon permit or intend to get one. This is a great book to have especially if you also intend to travel.

I highly recommend this book to anybody who travels with firearms.

This book goes over the basic types of firearms laws found throughout the United States and then lists each state with more detail. For each state one can see: a quick firearms grade (0-100) based on the local legislation, firearm ownership restrictions, AR ownership restrictions, automatic ownership restrictions, right of self defense (Castle Doctrine), open carry regulations, concealed carry regulations and, and vehicle transport/carry, and a half page of writing explaining specific exceptions or details pertaining to the state. Two other handy tools can be found in the back of the book: a list detailing which states will recognize another state's concealed carry permit, and a list of state authorities so that one can update themselves on the ever-changing laws before traveling.

This guide is an essential part of the reference material for anyone that owns firearms, especially if you travel with them or if you carry concealed.

This is a replacement for the one I bought several years ago. The updates to the laws are important to track.
