We have several of the Street Wise maps for different cities. They have a terrific index of streets--makes it easy to find any place in Paris (or other big cities) quickly. The maps are laminated softly and can be folded and carried in a purse or pocket. It also includes a metro map and shows major attractions on the map. It's the absolute best map for travel in Paris.

I generally like the "Streetwise" series of laminated maps, and their Paris map is no exception. It is compact, clear, easy to use, and exceptionally durable. It covers the city center of Paris, and the front side centers along the middle of the city with the Seine River running roughly along the midline. Northern and southern extremities, an index, and a Metro map are located on the back. All in all it is exceptionally useful for both planning a trip in conjunction with a guidebook as well as actually maneuvering on the ground in the city.

The most important landmarks are well defined on the map, and the information presented is accurate and current in my experience (it was revised in 2008). If you want to get out of central Paris you will need another map. Every map is designed for a specific purpose, and this one is designed for use by tourists of central Paris; for this purpose this map is exceedingly well suited, and I recommend it unequivocally.

Handy and durable but only covers the central part of Paris and leaves out too much of what you may need.

It was not as easy to read as I'd expected. Having to turn it over made it awkward. I found it not as good as a free paper map I picked up in Paris several years ago. However, the laminated surface is a plus.

these maps are great for city center and heavy traveled areas near city. Be sure to review them before you leave to be sure they cover the area you will be in because they are mostly city center and heavy traveled areas near city. these maps are compact and easy to carry while traveling in city. they also have public transit information so you have it all in one easy to carry fold and laminated map. Did not use for driving but why drive in Europe? I would buy these for all my city travels.

I needed to add on a few dollars to get the free shipment for my books, but the map is very difficult to read. It fails to clearly show the subway routes. I have seen much better maps of Paris. It is also nicely laminated, but too large to carry!

It was accurate, easy to carry, easy to read, detailed with specific buildings, gardens, museums - laminated. The only map you will need for the trip, if in fact you stay in Paris.

I bought this laminated streetwise paris map, and I REALLY don't like it! The map chops the entire Paris area in half, and displays one half on one side, and the other half on the other side of the map --- you cannot view the entire paris area all at one time, which creates a problem when you try to see which road leads to where -- you're constantly flipping the map over and back and forth, and you still cannot see how the roads (or metro lines) line up on the other side).
I really wish that the entire area was on one page (not double-sided)
So what that's it's small, it's absolutely useless...

Unless you plan to visit only the very center of Paris, this map is useless. If you want a map that covers all of the city, includes maps of the metro and bus lines, and fits easily in your purse or backpack, wait until you get to Paris and buy a "Plan de Paris" (a detailed pocket map) from any newsstand or bookstore.

This Streetwise map is the best map ever - no matter what city you need. I just returned from London and Paris and took one of each. As I checked with directions at the hotel desk, they both looked at my map and said it was the best one they had every seen! I agree! It's easy to read, has every street, landmarks,and Metro stops included.

While the content of the map was great, the size and lamination would not allow it to fit into my purse. Actually ended up carrying the paper brochure map around from the hotel the whole trip, which also allowed for circling destinations easier.

This is about as complete a map as I think you can find. I tend to use a lot of maps, but always found myself going back to this one whenever we needed to navigate somewhere. We just got back from Paris, and I was able to find every single street I ever looked for on this map. I found the maps of the Metro stops easier to read on this map than the official Metro map.

The only drawbacks - the layout is a bit odd. They chose to center the center of the city, which makes sense, but for the North part you have to flip over, and for the South part, you have to flip over. Just a little unusual. Also, there are no Bus markers, if you were looking for that.

We use Streetwise maps whenever possible when we travel and find them to be the best we've run across. I love the fact that they are sturdy and laminated and don't fall apart. They are clear and accurate. The Paris map has the Metro/RER insert which is handy when you want to travel light and don't need all the information of the full route maps.

You can't go wrong.

This map was by my side the whole 10 days in Paris and I pulled it out constantly! I love the lamination and heavy duty construction. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because the most northern, southern & eastern sections of Paris seem to be missing from the map. I would prefer the map to have the whole complete city, including a tiny piece of the outskirts because there were times when I traveled to the outer edges of Paris and the map couldn't help me. But, I will say that the detail on this map is excellent! It was the only map we saw that had every little tiny street name on it which is very important in a crowded place like Paris. I highly recommend it!

People stopped us and asked if they could use our map because it looked so much better then theirs, and it was!!!!!!!!!! Won't go anywhere without one of these!!!!!!!!!

This map came with us every day as we walked around Paris. It was very easy to orient ourselves when opening the map because of the colored pictures of landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower. The laminated format is a must with Paris's frequent sprinkles as well as it makes it much easier to handle in the wind than a paper map. While Streetwise does have the Metro stations marked on the street map and does have a separate Metro map showing all the routes, I found the Metro map in Frommer's Frommer's Paris 2008 (Frommer's Complete) easier to read.

If you are a tourist this map may be adequate but for finding your way around Paris it is a disaster. Entire neighborhoods are completely left out.

I LOVE this map of Paris! (have also used the Streetwise map of Athens) It's accurate, detailed, folds easily to the section you need to use, waterproof, etc., etc., etc. I especially like that the arrondisements are outlined, which makes finding things easy if you know the Arr. number but not the exact street. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the farther North and South sections of the city are on the flip side, which is confusing at first, but once you figure that out it's very easy to use. I think the makers did that so that the central city (and the Seine) would be the main focus. BUY this map - you'll be glad you did!

This was hand's down the most helpful thing I had while I was in Paris. I was able to navigate the streets with no problem. One of the map's best features is the metro map. This insert shows you all of the metro lines and colors, then on the street map there are color dots that show you what metro lines are available where. This map will be going back with me for sure when I make my next trip!!

This was a great map for getting around Paris, but I would recommend using a different map for the Paris metro - it didn't integrate the street & metro maps very clearly, which made a few of our metro stops a bit unfortunate & our walks a little longer than anticipated. For the money, it was a good purchase & was the perfect size to take with us everywhere.

I buy these maps for every major city that I visit. They can withstand a beating! I live in downtown Chicago & carried one in my purse for about 8 years before I replaced it. I still carry one everywhere I go, not because I need directions so much anymore, but because there are lots of tourists where I live & work who can use a bit of help.

I'm going to Istanbul next week -- no Streetwise map is available for Istanbul. My husband & I have bought a collection of cheap paper maps, hoping that they will get us through the trip.

This is a very well-done map. The hard-format is particularly welcome. Good index. One drawback is a confusing map of the Paris Metro system, not the classic, easy to read map you usually see.

I took this map with me on my first trip to Paris in October 2007. I'm glad I had it. I was able to find every street, monument and museum that I was looking for. It's very accurate, small enough to fit into the back pocket of my jeans width wise and seemingly indestructible. I used post-it flags to mark important locations (such as my hotel) for easy navigation. I always had the map with me and never really looked at the guidebooks that I had brought along as well, so I eventually just left the books in my hotel room. Get this map!

We just returned from a trip of more than a week in Paris. The Streetwise Paris map was invaluable! I can't name how many times my husband and I commented on how glad we were to have this handy map, especially since Paris is a city NOT designed on a neat grid. The drawings of landmarks and color coding made them easy to locate at a glance. Its compact size fit in my bag or my husband's jacket pockets. The accordian fold allowed us to open it to a specific section of the city, and the lamination kept it from getting tattered or falling apart like a paper map. Wonderful! Need I say more?

This map got me everywhere I needed to go in Paris. I had a few other maps with me, but this one ended up being my go-to map. It had every major destination (and most minor ones too) and clearly marked all the metro stations nearby. The size was convenient - small enough to fit in my purse without marking me as a tourist (no need for my bulky guide-book), yet large enough to read easily. The lamination is a life-saver as anyone who has spent multiple days in a city with a paper map can attest to - no wearing around creases/folds to blur the information. It also doubles as a rain shield - a very handy feature in drizzly Paris.

This is the best street map of Paris I have seen. I used it extensively during my first trip to the city this past summer. Unfortunately, half way thru my stay I lost it. I then had to rely on the hotel hand out map - no comparison. I will be returning to Paris shortly and I purchased another Streetwise Paris.

My wife and I recently spent 4 days in Paris with this map (and each other!). It was absolutely indispensable. It had everything on it from several of the monuments and museums we wanted to visit to all of the metro and RER train lines. We will definitely be taking this with us on our next trip to Paris.

This is the handiest map you'll ever use! Easy to use, easy to carry... and every single street is on there! You cannot get lost with this handy!!!

Not the best map of the city, but good. It's better than nothing thats for sure.

This clearly printed, sturdy little map saves you from carrying a heavy guidebook everywhere. You can stash it easily in a pocket and refer to it in a flash. It covers only central Paris which is mainly where you'll be if you are only there for a few days. If you go out to the Bois de Boulogne or Pere La Chaise you'll have to bring the guidebook or do what Parisians do and pick up a copy of Paris Pratique at the local book store.

I mutilated the metro map from the hotel desk. This laminated map was a great help in locating where we were and where we were going. Love it.

I bought this because of the rave reviews and they proved to be true! This is the only map you need to get around Paris and the metro. Convenient and the coating makes it nice so it doesn't get that worn, fall-apart feel of paper maps. We used this to get everywhere by foot and metro. BEST buy for the trip!

good map, easy to use. We used markers to map our locations and it was really helpful. The metro map is invaluable. We did have map envy over another couple's map that included a miniature paris guide. There might be better ones out there but this is a great map, park bench shield, emergency umbrella and all around solid map.

This map is very helpful, folds easily into compact shape, is laminated to protect it and enabling you to mark on it and is easy to read. I love Paris and this map makes it much easier to explore new things in Paris.

This map is magnificent. It turned out to be a life saver during my week and half in central Paris. Walking the city I managed to get lost several times, but each time this map got me back to my hotel safely and without a hassle. It is especially useful for navigating Paris via the Metro. All Metro lines are CLEARLY color coded on the full map and there's also a smaller Metro/RER map included. My travel companions consistently ignored their maps and consulted my Streetwise because it was so much easier to use. Like all of the Streetwise maps, this one is compact and durable, made to withstand even the rainiest of Paris days. All in all, I highly recommend Streetwise Paris. I know I will never again visit Paris without a copy tucked away in my daybag.

I had my first experience with Streetwise a few years back in London. This is one of the handiest to use maps that you can imagine. Countless times during our trip to Paris we pulled this out to find cross streets, identify routes or reference the Metro map. These are always worth the investment.

This map was recommended on the Trip Advisor forum for Paris and they were right. It was remarkably clear and sturdy, a good size and price. I bought it at Amazon a couple of months before I left. I used it to help me plan possible accomodation and day trips. By the time I got to Paris I knew the map well. I opened and closed it SO many times without any wear and tear. I got lost twice in two weeks and this map saved me both times.

I plan to take my Streetwise Paris map with me in March when I visit Paris. I've been several times and expect this map to be very useful. It's clear, easy to ready, and the lamination, of course, makes it indestructible (my former map fell apart at the seams). It's a little awkward since it's divided up, but the size of the map and the city shape don't exactly match--so I'm not sure how the company could have done it otherwise without sacrificing readable text.

Like other Streetwise maps, the Paris map is a useful tool to have with you on a visit to the "City of Lights." The map is clear, easy to use and convenient. It folds into a size that is easily placed in your pants pocket. The streets and sites are well marked and it is easy to locate where you are, where you want to go and how to get there. In combination with the Artwise map, it can be used to make your time in Paris an easy and enjoyable stay.

This map is great if you are just going to be doing the tourist thing in central Paris. However, note that not all neighborhoods are listed. I kept it with me at all times and found it extremely useful to find hotels, etc. The map is laminated so you can be hard on it without worry. I often came up from the metro a bit disoriented and this map helped me find my way. Highly recommended.

I bought this map, having read the previous reviews. And am returning it because it gives a much too limited view of Paris. It literally cuts out whole neighborhoods -- the north end of the 18th, most of the 19th and 20th, the 12th arrondissements(including Belleville, Menilmontant), most of the 13th, 14th, 15th arrondissements including Montparnasse, the Cite Universitaire, etc.

Fine if you want to get only to the hottest tourist spots, but totally inadequate if you want to visit the "tout Paris".
