| Showdown with Nuclear Iran: Radical Islam's Messianic Mission to Destroy Israel and Cripple the United States | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
A terrifying examination of how Iran's president (a radical Shiite zealot) believes he has a "divine mission" to usher in the apocalypse and thereby herald the second coming of a Shia Muslim messiah-and how he is trying to achieve this by building his arsenal and threatening to cripple America and destroy Israel in a nuclear holocaust.

I haven't read this book, so I wish I didn't have to rate it, just to add a comment. Unfortunately, Amazon requires a rating. So I gave it a "middling" rating of 3 stars.
The topic is certainly timely and important. The book might be excellent, and it might be accurate... but I fear that it might not be. The reason that I worry about the book's reliability is that I know that "contributor" Jerome Corsi is not a trustworthy source. For proof, you can google for the quoted phrase, "Corsi is a dishonest journalist" If anyone thinks that doesn't matter, I would suggest contemplating the truth of Luke 16:10. Dave Burton "Falsehood is never so false as when it is very nearly true." -Chesterton (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-07-05 09:16:25 EST)

Michael Evans knows exactly what he is talking about and if you really want the truth about Iran you must read this book. I can only pray that the US will wake up and quit listening to the controlled media and realize what is really happening and why. This book is truth.

This book taught me a lot about Iran's past and present, but the information was presently too dryly for me to give it five stars. It's a good read if you're interested in the nuclear situation with Iran, but I would have liked it if the book delved further into the religious ideas behind Iran's actions.

Take the time to read this book in its entirety. The author states the facts that no one likes to hear, but must be said. It is about time someone brought forth the truth.

I don't know what to make of this book.
Say someone had a written a book in 1934 saying that Hitler was going to conquer almost all of Europe and write of the methods Hitler used to commit his unspeakable acts of mass murder. I would not have found it believable. I would have said that German is a poor military weak country that is barely economically viable. It could not even stand up to the Polish army much less France. Also that I know many Germans and I could not imagine Germans doing such acts. The problem here is also the same. Iran today is a weak country. Economically it is also barely viable. Militarily it could only draw with Saddam's Iraq. I know several Persian people. They are fine people. The problem is the Iranian government. If there was a free and open election, it would lose. The Iranian government knows this. Also unlike most governments today, it has a mission to ram a horrible form of Islam down to its people and spread this doctrine thought the world. So it attacks the West which it sees as secular and in particular the US and Israel. So it now sees itself in conflict with them. Ironically both the US and Israel are the most unsecular of the Western goverments. The only hope of Iran to balance off the US is nuclear weapons. Therefore, they are trying to make one. It is only a few years before they will have one. Then they will want some missiles. Only when the Iranian government feel that they can strike with these at the US will they feel safe. Once they achieve this safety what will they do? This book has some believable scenarios if you assume that a country is trying to achieve suicide. A few Iranian nuclear bombs hit Israel or the US will quickly result in a massive retaliation by either. That will result in the end of the Iranian revolution. Somehow I just cannot believe that this is what President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wants. Even if he did, he is not supreme. Over him is the supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his Council of Guardians. What I was wondering is what would happen if a nuclear armed Iran decides to use its weapons against a non-nuclear neighbour. This book is worth reading as a study of some disturbing trends and scenarios. It is not impossible that a nuclear missile supplied by some Muslim fanatical group or government goes straight into a major city and goes boom. Then what are we going to do? I just finished this book, and I have to say I was impressed. If I ran across something I found a bit hard to believe, when I checked the endnotes I (more often than not) found a web link. Sure enough, the web links were valid and led me to even more information.
Evans & Corsi provide an accurate and sobering picture of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. His visions of ushering in the return of the Mahdi through violence and jihad, and his explicit warnings of just that, should be heeded by the West. This is a must read for Americans, but even more so, for America's leaders. (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-12-15 02:41:29 EST)

When Corsi says the following:
"Islam is like a virus -- it affects the mind -- maybe even better as an analogy -- it is a cancer that destroys the body it infects... No doctor would hesitate to eliminate cancer cells from the body." (11/26/02) ...it reminds me of something the Nazis would have said about the Jews. While Iran and Islam may be a threat, so are China and many other countries and groups. It is rather scary that so much propaganda and demonization have taken place merely (in my current opinion) to foment another war for oil, Israel and Empire. Haven't we seen where this path leads many times before? Therefore, I caution readers to consider the bias of the authors into account. (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-12-15 02:41:29 EST)

In Showdown with Nuclear Iran, Evans and Corsi present an expose of Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons. Evans and Corsi argue that based on the words and beliefs of the mullahs, the Ayatollah, and President Ahmadinejad, Iran seeks to bring about the return of the Mahdi (the Twelfth Imam) who vanished down a well long ago. They believe that the Mahdi will return during chaos and apocolyptic times to bring the world under Islamic domain. They seem to want to bring this about. If you think things are destablized now in the Middle East, wait until Iran has the bomb, the whole world just might be destablized. Whose side would other countries line up behind? Will the U.S. or Israel do anything? It's scary enough that Islamic groups like Al Qaeda, Hezbollah, or Hamas could get nuclear weapons, but a state run by Islamic fanatics with the bomb is even scarier. Especially one who wants to wipe Israel from the map and see the U.S. brought down. There's no easy way out, now before they have the bomb, or after they acquire it. Scary reading but important and timely for anyone interested in the current problems facing the world.

The Koran itself solidly establishes they are at total war with and seek annihilation of everyone non-muslim; this is a doctrinal and canonical fact! Myself being a Baptist Christian, I suppose it becomes clear, with their goal being global domination, and myself, a soldier, having sworn an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution, a Christian document, e'en unto my own death if necessary, where I stand with them, in spite of how soft and flacid D.C. is in dealing with them. Read the Koran folks. We are at and in a state of war with them, irrespective of how vulnerable, at the time of this writing, our present commander-in-chief has left us by leaving our borders totally unsecured against them, and thousands others. Don't be fooled. Sunni or Shiite, they both go by the Koran which COMMANDS the same thing, wanton slaughter of all non-muslims.
This said, this is a very delicate book which I would discourage reading, until 1 has read, and understands, the Bible(and who is the New Israel),Victor Ostrovsky's books, By Way of Deception & The Other Side of Deception, and former Congressman Findley's book They Dare To Speak Out, on the Jewish lobby here in America and their invidious power and reach. There's another I'd strongly recommend but I hold off on the grounds it might brand me too quickly. But too, the near total, and apparently deliberate, obliteration of the USS Liberty in 1967 by Israel, leaving 32 dead and 171 wounded, clearly establishes they have, and want, no friends and 'll shoot a "friend" in the back at the earliest opportunity if it serves their purpose. The Israeli government has overwhelmingly proven they cannot and should not be trusted. The book starts off a fast and solid read; a lot of information buttressing why Islam is such a formidable threat today; much of what can be checked through other sources. However, a dangerous presupposition of the book emerges is that we have to first accept as pure and virginal the causes, people, and approaches of the present, and near past, U.S. and Israeli governments, whom have both solidly established themselves as lying, scumbag whoretrash.(To my critics-paraphrasing Teddy Roosevelt, loyalty is to the land and country first; NOT the government!) After about a third of the book, with furrowed brow, I was prompted to read what Evan's background is; suspecting he has strong ties & sympathies with the Jews, which he unfortunately does. While I still believe he has the ability to be objective, his obvious biases stink grotesquely in favour of The State of Israel. Either he doesn't know how the Israeli government operates behind the scenes; or he knows, and he's deliberately trying to whip up people's passions, under false pretenses, for them. Plus, it's mentioned in the book how the authors feel that, one of the reasons why, ultimately, higher gas/oil prices may be in the offing for the West-a buyer of oil-is because Russia-a supplier of oil-is getting revenge for losing the cold war and having world oil prices drop during the Russian-Afghan conflict, when they needed money. Here Evans displays his ignorance, or guile. If one looks critically at parastroika(translated-merely restructuring), people will find the U.S. emerged in a position of weakness, not strength. ERGO, THE COLD WAR WE DIDN'T WIN! LOOK A LITTLE CLOSER EVANS!! Now we're in even a bigger position of weakness with the Iraqi engagement based almost en toto on all of Bush's bs, whipped up in large measure, by, behind the scenes, AIPAC(The American-Israeli Public Affairs Committee), the most powerful lobby group in the U.S. The book does expound fairly well what the fundamentalist & fanatic, Ahmendinejad, is all about; seeking to usher in the Imam Mahdi, the final or 12th, by initiating some massive apocalyptic event (i.e. nuclear war). Bush, through a bevvy of lies, is exacerbating things by trying to superimpose an old-testament structure of gov't on a culture it's totally foreign to, all under false pretenses, with the usual Israeli whip-up behind it; and laughingly for the muslims, leaving our borders totally open to their infiltration! More could be said; but that's it. A slightly above average book. The scenario the book opens with is a very real possibility and should be read by all. With the fleet of freighters available to the muslims, converting a few into launch platforms and putting them under the flag of a more acceptable nation puts the U.S. at much much greater risk than most people could even fathom! The range of Iran's Shahab III and IV missiles is, respectively, 800 and 1,200 miles. If they just parked their butts 10-15 miles off either coast, how many targets might be in range? Quite similar to Bush, Ahmedinejad, it's apparent, also suffers severely delusional and horrifically grandiose & messianic lunatic tendencies, with the U.S. hanging precariously in the balance. God help us! (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-07-12 03:17:15 EST)

Iran has been relentless in its hunt for nuclear weapons and technology, intent on wiping out Israel, and author Michael Evans, who's worked in the Middle East for the last thirty years, offers an insider's consideration of Iran's dangerous capabilities in Showdown With Nuclear Iran. From the driving religious ideals of a fanatical president to what to do to avert the problem, SHOWDOWN is a 'must' for any who would understand and analyze the motivations and beliefs of leaders in the region, and will prove an especially popular pick for college-level holdings strong in Middle Eastern politics, as well as general public lending libraries.

The book is well written with much documentation much of which is derived from personal experience. This book should be read by everyone who considers themselves a realist. Unfortunately the book has been maligned by the 'politically correct' dreamers who don't wish to acknowledge the real danger to the US and Israel that Iran posses. Read it and then make a judgement.

If all that is in this book is true, we have had the most ignorant people in government; from the President on through all of Congress, and have had the most self-centered, egotistical, totally stupid people in the FBI, CIA and just about any and all intelligence gathering groups.
It doesn't take much of this information to realize why the United States of America is nowhere in existance in the Book of Revelation in the Bible. In a few more years at the rate and direction this nation is heading, we won't exist. If we don't make some quick changes in our thinking and governmental decisions I can't see the United States being in existance much past another 10 years. My wife bought this book for me at my request. (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-06-24 09:08:28 EST)

Despite conflicting opinions from previous reviewers, I found this book highly informative on topics that are largely misrepresented by the media. This book is well-researched, responsible and fearless reporting, which is a stark but welcome contrast with the current popular media. There is a sense of urgency without stirring up a panic. Having read the book, I now have a greater awareness and understanding of events in the Middle East and beyond. Only time will tell how accurate is Evans' guestimate of Iran's nuclear weapons progression.
I fully recommend this book for anyone who is interested in knowing more about the unreported side of Iran's current regime. (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-01-12 20:46:05 EST)

Showdown with Nuclear Iran is a gripping & powerful insight into the catastophic dangers that the Western world faces once Iran has the capability to manufacture it's own nuclear bomb. As an American who has worked in the Middle East for 30 years, the author, Michael Evans uses his inside knowledge & experience to allow him to strip away the spin & cover up surrounding Iran's nuclear intentions & to cut to the chase as regards that country's fundamentalist ambitions .Starting with Ayatollah Khomeini in the late 70's he systematically charts the rise of Islamic fundamentalism in Iran right up to the present day rise to power of President Ahmadinejad .It's fast moving, pacey style makes it very easy to read despite the rather disturbing subject matter. It is a wake up call to raise a slumbering West to the dangers facing it from a nulear, fundamentalist Iran whose president has vowed to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. But his intentions do not to stop there....Who is the 12th Iman whose imminent reappearance fuels Ahmadininejad's fanatacism? How will Israel & US respond to Iran's nuclear threat? ? What is the worst case scenario if Iran attacks first? This book will stimulate you, inform you & probably disturb you but most of all,try to stir Western governments & people who love democracy to act before it's too late......

Gave me insight into the plans of Iran for our future. We should not be like an ostrich with our heads in the sand thinking that the world will let us just live out our lives without any threat to our security and safety. We need to pray for these peolple that God will intervene in their plans to destroy the US and Israel.

If you have been watching the news, heard the President of Iran's tirades against the United States and Israel, and asked yourself the question "what is this guy's problem?" This is definitely a book you want to read.
Evans talks about Iran seriously as many refuse to do these days, treating it as the valid threat it is. Many amazing details are revealed that most people have never heard of, including the philosophy behind the thinking of President Ahmadinejad. Evans is, while not the best writer ever, good and readable, though even if he wasn't the content within the pages would make it a worthwhile read. Every American concerned with the safety of their country should read this book. (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-01-03 21:36:54 EST)

Iran MUST be stopped from getting the bomb. Unlike Russia, US, China, etc., and even North Korea, the MADD concept won't work. The radical leaders of Iran have vowed to start a nuclear war. They are willing for their country to be destroyed if they can eliminate Israel and damage the US. They believe they will all get to heaven instantly as martyrs, and it will lead to the second coming of a mystical figure who will establish an all Islamic world. Reason and threats will not work. Hopefully the relaively moderate Arab nations (KSA, Jordan, Egypt, Pakistan, etc.) will defuse Iran as they would also be destroyed in a world nuclear war. If the moderate Moslem states won't, the west Must stop Iran. As Hitler did, the Iranian leaders have announced their plans. The world must heed them. Time is running out. This is all thoroughly documented in this scary book. READ IT!

This well written and informative book could be called "Islam 101." If you have ever wondered about the extreme views of the militant Moslems, this book will give you an in depth understanding of their beliefs.
Do you know the differance between the Sunni and Shi'ite Moslems sects? Who is the Mahdi or 12th Iman and what part does he play in the militant Shi'ite Moslem faith? What part do the wealthy Iranian mullahs have to play in Iran's determination to obtain nuclear weapons? Who is financially backing Hezbosah and other Moslem terrorist organizations? What does a Moslem believer stand to gain by dying in Jihad or holy war? The answers to all these vitually important questions to truly understanding the Moslem viewpoint and more are found in this informative book. One reviewer expressed disappointment that it didn't contain any Scripture. Having been a believer for many years, I know what the Scriptures have to say about Israel and most other issues confronting the Middle East. I'm glad Mike cut to the chase and helped me better understand the strange ideas of the militant Moslem faith. (Review Data Last Updated: 2006-12-15 18:54:28 EST)

As a rule, I don't usually buy or read these types of books. Not being familiar with Mr. Evans or his work I wasn't planning on reading this one either. However, after seeing so many positive reviews and one or two negative reviews that launched into a tirade almost to the point of histerics it made me wonder why these few would be so adamant about someone reading this book, so I bought it to find out and I'm glad I did.
This is a great book, based on facts that anyone who wants to do the research can find out for themselves. Mr. Evans is correct in his assessment of the situation surrounding the middle east and Iran and has put in an easy to understand format. There's nothing in this book that can't be proven if the reader wants to take the time to search it out for themselves. I'm not going to tell you to buy it. I'm not going to tell you not to buy it. Every person is a free moral agent and you can make up your own mind. Those who would try to criminalize Mr. Evans or his work and coerce you into not buying it are either anti-semitic, pro-terrorist, anti-america or all three. But you decide what you want to do. If your interested in knowing the truth about the Iran Nuclear Situation, this is as good a place to start as any and better than most. If your not, buy something else. At any rate, I want to thank all of those persons for their ranting reviews against this book. Because of you, I was compelled to purchase and read a wonderful collection of truth that I would have other wise passed up. (Review Data Last Updated: 2006-11-04 01:17:31 EST)

"Showdown" is only putting the facts out as they are. The majority of what Michael Evans is telling us is only what is truth. Unfortunately, now, as has been the case since the beginning of mankind, people don't want to hear the truth. Iran is a serious threat to Israel and America. Michael Evans is not putting words into mouths, he is merely putting the facts together as they are and trying to get the American public to open their eyes.

I couldn't put this book down. I found it to be well written and absorbing. We hear so many half truths in the media and from our politicians. How refreshing to read a book that exposes the truth behind Iran's hidden agendas and the critical role that Israel has as a democratic ray of hope in the Middle East. I hope that the Iranian nuclear madness does not lead to a World War but if it does then this book will, in retrospect, be a prophetic masterpiece!

This book, Showdown With Nuclear Iran, shows what the one-sided media doesn't. It was refreshing to read something that doesn't have traces of propaganda attached to it. I recommend this book for anyone who wants to know the full picture of what is going on today in Iran.
To all my brothers and sisters in Christ, who are suffering under a dictator's heavy hand in Iran, you are in my prayers on a daily basis. (Review Data Last Updated: 2006-10-30 01:30:15 EST)

Excellent work. No stepping softly, but Mr. Evans stated the unpopular truth, and he must be congratulated.

This book thoroughly covers the current situation in Iran: It's history, foreign relations, strengths, and weaknesses and relationship of the leadership to their general population. The book focuses on the current leadership's (ultimately ruling mullah's) unrelenting messianic drive, including the use of any and all weapons at their disposal (nuclear if possible) for obtaining absolute world dominance. Options with probable consequences from a global perspective of different strategies taken by Israel, The U.S., and different nations around the world in dealing with the situation in Iran are thoroughly examined. This is a timely and important book for as many as possible to read; the world populace being accurately informed on what is currently going on in Iran is important for global security.

Mike Evens has done a good job of describing the very real and existing threat posed by Iran and radical Islam that is hell-bent on world domination. We do well to give careful heed to his warning.
If we somehow doubt the content of this book we need only look at the news coming out almost daily, in the proclaimations and threats spoken by Ahmadbinejad himself. The contents of Mikes book are no secret. I strongly recomend this book to all who love the truth. I have bought several copies and am giving them away. Yes sir Mike, you have hit the nail on the head with this book and it could not be coming out at a better time. (Review Data Last Updated: 2006-10-30 01:30:15 EST)

This is a timely and gripping investigation into how Iran has allegedly, through deception, concealment and great determination, sought to become a nuclear power.
The book at times reads at the pace of a novel but the subject matter is anything but fiction. Having studied the Middle East for some three decades the subject of this excellent, eminently readable and well written study is not new to me. Indeed it is something that I have personally monitored closely for some time now. That said I can only applaud the thoroughness with which the relevant issues have been addressed. The amount of detail provided throughout, together with the appropriate references/sources are indeed highly commendable. With due reference to the recent conflict Israel and Hezbollah, cited in the text as being a proxy of the Iranian government on it's unholy mission to destroy Israel in the name of world jihad, the book illustrates how Iran is described as having allegedly used the above conflict to distract the world while it continues it's pursuit of nuclear weapons. Both Israel and the US described as being "slated for destruction" in pursuit of such a jihad. The content of this study appears to be asking the question "what will it take for the international community to understand that in order to create a nuclear-armed Islamic Republic that could trigger the kind of global conflagration that the Iranian PM envisions will set the stage for the end of the world". With this in mind the book addresses in no uncertain terms what is alleged to be the Iranian President Mahmoud's Ahmadinejad's "mystical pre-occupation" with the coming of a Shiite Islamic messiah figure described in the text as the "Mahdi". Issues which the book cites as allegedly not being fully comprehended by either the international community or the United States. Perhaps central to the detailed analysis of this work is the attitude of Iran and it's leaders to the Jewish state of Israel. The reader is shown how Mahmoud Ahmedinijad, while denying the Jewish Holocaust, the Iranian PM is simultaneously presenting Iran's very own " Final Solution" of the Jewish "problem". Reference being made to recent statements from Iranian leaders to the effect that they will purportedly not be satisfied with anything less than "the complete obliteration of the Zionist regime from the political map of the world". The relevance of further such statements from the Iranian PM that "Israel must be wiped off the map", that "Anybody who recognizes Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nation's fury" and that the Jewish nation "cannot survive" and is headed "towards extinction" are given due attention within the context of Iran's alleged pursuit of nuclear weapons. Iran's spiritual leader, Hashemi-Rafsanjani, is also quoted as saying, "[The] application of an atomic bomb would not leave anything in Israel - but the same thing would just produce damages in the Muslim world". While analysing how Iran is moving ahead with the development of long-range ballistic missiles capable of striking targets 3,500 kilometers (2,150 miles) away (capable of striking parts of Europe, Israel and coalition forces in the Gulf), the study also presents interviews with leading political and military figures which investigate the possibility that Iran is developing a nuclear arsenal as a mechanism to set off a chain reaction of death resulting in the destruction of a third of the world's population in order to facilitate the arrival of the Mahdi. The role and involvement of such nations as Russia and Chin, together with their strategic alliances in relation to the Iranian regime are also studied in some depth. Also analysed are the difficulties confronting the US, Israel and the international community in both preventing Iran's acquisition of nuclear weapons, together with the risks & difficulties of any potential military operation with reference to destroying the Iranian nuclear facilities at a future date should such a measure be deemed necessary. The book outlining how the US, Israel and the international community stand at a "crossroads" where it remains to be seen if such have the resolve and determination to stand up against an Iranian leader who has voiced his agenda, and who is talking about a global nation of Islam. An agenda which purportedly involves defeating the West and destroying Israel. Whether or not the reader agrees with the opinions of the author or those interviewed for the purposes of this thorough investigation into the above issues, I am of the opinion that the sobering revelations herein need to be digested by every individual irrespective of their religious or political persuasion. I would also highly recommend two other works by the same author;- "Jerusalem Betrayed" and "The American Prophecies". Thank you for your time. (Review Data Last Updated: 2006-10-24 09:42:19 EST)

If anyone knows the truth about Iran and its evil ambitions, especially towards Israel, it is Mike Evans. This book should be on the readership list of anyone who is concerned about Muslim extremists, particularly those of the Iranian persuasion. Mike Evans sounds the alarm, and we hark back to 1935 Germany. Hitler is spewing his rhetoric, but the world is asleep. No one is taking him seriously, at least not until it is 1940 and the world is on the brink of being overrun by Nazis, and the extermination of European Jews is well underway. Is this not what Ahmadinejad is plainly advocating? Has he not said that he wants a new Muslim caliph over the entire world? Could any sane person not believe that he WILL use nuclear weapons if he is allowed to get or develop them? Showdown with Nuclear Iran tells it like it is and what must be done. Hopefully it will awaken enough people to the dangerous situation in the Middle East concerning Iran to cause a popular uprising and a call to action to prevent this madman from realizing his evil plans.

Having lived & worked overseas for many years, I realize that this book is the unvarnished truth. We are quite surely in the "Last Crusade", which Iran has stated. WE seem to be too dense to get it through are heads of mush, created by 24 hours a day of TV addling our brains.. This book needs to be required reading by all Citizens, especially the meathead pols inside the beltway..

10 STARS!!!
After reading this book I found it amazing how years (decades) of U.S. foreign policy has played out in the middle east to our detriment. It sounds as if China and Russia would very much support Iran over the U.S. Also how the "president" of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has stated that if the Europeans and the U.S. feel soooo bad about the holocaust then Israel should be moved to Europe or the U.S. This got me thinking; why not make Israel the 51st state!!! Preformed a web search on this and found many hits. Good article in the Jerusalem Post. Must read book for all responsible Americans!!! Let all Americans remember the Jews of the holocaust. Those who forget the mistakes of the past are doomed to repeat them. Israel 51................why not?!!!!!! (Review Data Last Updated: 2006-10-23 01:07:16 EST)

This is a wake-up call for America and for the world. Iran's president is not a political figure so much as a religious fanatic, and for that reason he is all the more dangerous. He can't be reasoned with. The threat of a nuclear holocaust does not faze him...he expects it so that the 12th Imam or the Mahdi can return. This book sets out the facts and the background for the crisis in which we find ourselves. The world better wake up and believe what he said at the United Nations, and realize that not just Israel and America are threatened, but the entire non-Muslim world. Read it and weep. Then pray.

Michael Evans highlights the enormous challenge posed by the Islamic politicos who have a clear agenda to destroy Israel and dominate the world at what ever cost ... "that Allah and Islam would prevail against the infidels." - And please know that "infidels" = Jews, Christians, you, me, or anyone else who does not "submit" 'to Allah, Islam, and Mohammed as His Prophet.' - Does this sound like religious and political insanity? It is. And it is very much HERE, ... NOW, ... and it MUST be dealt with.
To be completely honest, after reading this book I am left with the definite inpression that the so-called "clash between civilizations" is much more a matter of "a final confrontation" between "the god of Ishmael and Esau, - Allah," and "the GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, ... and the Lord Jesus Christ, Yahweh/YahOvah." Michael Evans defines these issues very clearly and undeniably: THE RIGHT of Israel's continued existence, ... and HOW to confront the menace and belligerence of militant, radical, KORANIC Islam. It's a showdown clearly delineated in the seers and prophets of Israel. This book and Bill Koenig's EYE TO EYE are very important warnings and insights as to how to see the issues clearly, ... and then deal with them DECISIVELY. highly recommended. If anyone thinks that Iran's current regime is not a threat to the world I suggest that he or she reads this book. It may be true that the first barrier to Iran's total domination of the world is Israel. Israel has considerable military strength - including nuclear weaponry; which is necessary for survival in a region where it is surrounded by agressive Islamist nations. Once Israel is out of the way America is likely to be next. Mike Evans explains how the Iranian Revolution changed global politics; and the relation of Russia, China, Pakistan and India to Iran's ambitions. He analyzes the errors of our politicians in letting themselves be maneuvered by the radicals in Teheran. And Iran's president has threatened to use its nuclear weapons against us. And it is probable that unless we stop them from completing their development they will likely do it. They believe in an Islamic " Messiah" who will come back to destroy their enemies and give them control of the world.
WE are in deep trouble! WE need leaders with wisdom and understanding to make the right decisions to allow us to survive. This book is a must for every American. (Review Data Last Updated: 2006-10-20 01:30:06 EST)

Showdown with Nuclear Iran is at once frightening and enlightening. It is frightening to consider just how short an attention span the American public has. Once the images of 9/11 faded from view, it became politically incorrect to mention the devastation and horror this nation experienced on that fateful day in 2001. It became politically incorrect to lay the blame for those events at the feet of the Islamic radicals who planned the events and executed nearly 3000 innocent people.
The American public is being led like lambs to the slaughter by the liberal media with their own agenda of suppression. How many, including myself, knew who Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was, what he believed, and how he purposed to reach his goals for Iran before he was pushed to the forefront by the mad mullahs in Tehran? After reading Showdown with Nuclear Iran, you will know, and perhaps more than you wish to know. Showdown with Nuclear Iran not only introduces the reader to the crazy-like-a-fox Ahmadinejad, but gives insight into what drives this man, and what the outcome could be with this wild ride on which he seems intent on taking he world. The book is endorsed by two brilliant gentlemen, Lt. General Moshe Ya'alon, former Chief of Staff, Israeli Defense Force, and Dr. Phillip F. Myers, chair of World War II Historical Society, and former war planner for the U. S. Air Force. General Ya'alon says of Iran: "The most detailed account of the Iranian regime's determination, policy, and plan to acquire military nuclear capabilities. Mike Evans...compellingly analyzes policy options for confronting this threat." Dr. Myers adds, "This is a terrifying book that US and foreign policy makers should read, along with the interested and concerned citizen. The book begins with a chillingly accurate fictional scenario which has all too high a probability of occurring. It then goes into the inner workings of Iran, its aggressive and fanatical ambitions, and the potential impact on the Middle East, the United States and the rest of the world." If you only read one book on Iran this year, read Showdown with Nuclear Iran. [...]. The book is well-written, well-documented and will certainly give you much about which to think. Dr. Evans' book Beyond Iraq: The Next Move, though not a book on prophecy, became prophetic in content. Should this book be equally prophetic, we will be haunted by our failure to stop Ahmadinejad. I'm glad I purchased this book. It makes me much more aware of the issues that the western nations are facing, and that the Islamic goals are not to be taken lightly.
The Muslims are very patient in pursuing their goals, and we are looking at decades or centuries ahead of us of dealing with the desires of the religion to dominate the world. Because of the U.S.A. political system, (which I think is the least flawed system in the world - but still has major problems), with its 4 year cycle, we can't seem to see beyond the current decade. I think that Dr. Evans is right-on with his analysis. I have friends that live in Israel and what this author is saying is consistent with what I have heard from these other friends. I did not give a "5 stars" rating only because it is not easy reading. The details make it somewhat hard to follow, I think mainly because the Iranian names are much alike, for example, and I have to keep referring back to see who is who.
