The book was adequate, but not outstanding. It was very basic and was a good overview of the subject for a beginner. The service from Amazon was completely outstanding. Thanks.

I'm a Reverse Mortgage Originator and my clients find me at www.reversemortgagelender.org . Since they find me via the internet, I talk to people from all over the Country and explain to them how Reverse Mortgages work. I also provide them with a copy of Reverse Mortgages for Dummies (when possible). Even though the book is somewhat out of date now, it still contains the fundamental principles of Reverse Mortgages and helps them understand how this unique loan works. My goal is for them to be comfortable with the loan and respond to their questions after they've read the book. One of my recent clients from Alabama me his wife picked it up at the local bookstore and he started reading it when he went to bed and didn't finish until 5AM the following morning, he liked the book so much. His wife started reading it after breakfast and finished around supper-time.

It it's typical style, this book goes through the reverse mortgage product.

This is a good primer in reverse mortgages. I have been frustrated in querying my CPA and other financial authorities on the subject of the Reverse Mortgage and this book helps answer most of the important questions. I didn't want to get an MBA by reading this book and so many of the books on the subject are too detailed for what the average homeowner needs. This one fills the bill.I'de recommend it.

I've searched articles on the web, had the required reverse mortgage counseling, and bought this book. All you really need is this book.In coverage, organization, and language, it presents and clarifies a solution of a major problem for seniors.

Although this book is primarily intended for those considering a home equity conversion mortgage, I bought it because, as a notary signing agent I am occasionally called to conduct reverse mortgage closings. I wanted to have a better understanding of this type of loan. This book gave me that. I highly recommend it to all notary signing agents who want to gain more knowledge in this area, and be better prepared to do these types of closings.

I bought and read this little book that is packed with excellent information and, as a result, got a reverse mortgage. The Cash now available to me has paid off some medical bills and made it possible to make some repairs on my home in preparation for the hurricane season. It's a fail safe way of converting equity in your home to cash that you can enjoy now, instead of giving all of it to your inheritors when you die. I recomment it enthusiastically.

I bought the digital version of this book (my first digital book purchase ever) and I just had to write to say first of all how easy it was to access, and secondly what a help this has been in my business. I'm a mortgage broker and I've been looking into doing RMs. My company gave me a run-down of the loans, but I needed a more complete explination and viola! This book was perfect. I use it to educate my customers as well, and have suggested the book to several others. I definitely recommend this book!

I saw this book in a listing in the Wahington Post of the 10 best real estate book this year and bought it as a gift for my aunt and for my wife's aunt and uncle. I've been flipping through it and I'm really impressed with the level of information in this book. It's easy to read, and I think even our 70-something relatives will be able to understand the concepts. What we liked best about it is that it doesn't talk down to you, and offers many resources unaffiliated with the book for extra help. I would highly recommend this book.

I originally bought the Pocket Guide about reverse mortgages, after seeing a review in the paper that claimed it was a must-read. However, I was disappointed in that book's content, and didn't feel I took away enough "usable" information. So I bought this one and let me tell you, what a difference! I loved the authors' style and easy to read language, and I feel like I got a lot more use out of this one. My copy has been loaned out to several friends, and it's covered in post-its and notes. If you're looking at both reverse mortgage books and can't decide, either get them both or save yourself a few bucks and get this one.

Somewhat informative, some articles are confusing, but for the foremost it helped me determine what I can/want to do when I retire, in regards to obtaining a reverse mortgage for retirement income.

I bought this book for my mother, and although I had to go through it with her, it made the whole concept of reverse mortgages so much easier for both of us to understand. i thought i had done my homework, but this book cleared up some misconceptions i had, and taught me a lot about the loan and it's pros and cons without trying to sell me on getting one. it also put my mind at ease about repaying the loan and what would be left for me and my siblings, and gave us something to think about in terms of making arrangements for our mother's future. It's definitely the best source on the subject that i've found yet.

I have been looking for an easy to read guide on reverse mortgages and have purchased a few. I feel that this book will be of great value in my decision making process. It's very clear and concise. I'm glad it was not written as a commercial for reverse mortgages but as a guide. It was very impartial.

What a breath of fresh air!! Finally, someone who can articulate the advantages of reverse mortgage in terms that my mother (senior citizen), and I, (not senior citizen), can understand. What a godsend! As the daughter of a senior, it has fallen to me to make sure every option is explored. I found this book not only informative but supportive. It was easy to read and will be easy to use. I was able to go just to the chapters that reflect my family at this time, but to note chapters for future exploration.
