Pitbulls in a skirt is a fast paced novel that deals with friends Yvette, Mercedes, Carissa and Kenyetta that are the ladies of emerald city and the better halves of the EC squad head honchos.

The story starts out with introductions and giving background on each character basically. the women were made promises of a better life outside EC like their girl Stacia who was the wife of the captain of the EC squad Dex. After Dex's and Stacia's gruesome murders the entire squad is on alert not knowing the horrible truth behind the ordeal.

Thick is Yvette's man or so she thinks. he has a hidden agenda that none of the EC squad know about. As things progress Thick coerce Lavelle, Cameron, and Dyson to break up with the girls because of his failed attempt to get Yvette back after a lot of drama and pain caused when one of his secrets were revealed. Going along with Thick because of their loyalty to the EC squad they soon find out through a chain of events that the girls have taken over and they're supplier, Dreyfus has cut them lose once Yvette and Merceds deliver some info to him. All hell breaks lose after the girls take over as unforgiving truths are revealed.

Pitbulls was a page turner. i love the storyline and how the women (although i don't agree with their choice of business) took off the blinders called love and took a stand against the men they thought would love them forever. love ins't good enough for me to risk jail by being in control of a drug ring and it sure isn't good enough for me to sit out in the cold or heat for 14 hours a day like they did.

There were times when i forgot who a character was due to being introduced to so many at a time and even throughout the book more and more were being introduced. I love the flow of the story and the fact that there will be a part two. Can't wait for January 09 not only do i get to see who the next president (prayerfully Obama) will be but i'll also get my fresh copy of PBIAS 2.

This was my first read from The Cartel Publications and I was pleasantly surprised. To say this was Mikal Malone's debut, I was even more impressed. The ladies were definitely the brains behind the whole organization, and at times proved to be more thorough then their men. I look forward to reading more from Mikal and The Cartel in the future.

INDEED THIS IS THE BEST BOOK I'VE READ SO FAR IN 2008,IT REALLY CATCHES THE TRUE ESSCENCE OF HOW AND WHY FEMALES ARE RUNNING THE GAME NOW

This book was sooooo good! You NEVER seen any females doing it THIS hard! These females are like nothing you ever seen before! Every female has to read this book ASAP! Can't wait for part 2!

I loved this book all I can say is where is the sequel....What more important the love of money or love. These girls will having you look different at the men in your life...This was some straight hood drama from the 1st page. I'm glad I bought it..I can't wait to read the next installment!!!! Hurry Up Mikal!!!!

I loved the cover so i picked it up but The storyline was too far fetched in my eyes. The women acted like men and th eplot was too unbelievable.

I finally got around to reading this bull after buying it at this year's Harlem Book Fair. It was thoroughly bad and so unrealistic. It is because of street books like this that I am getting tired of them all. Don't buy it. It's a waste of money and time.

I was somewhat skeptical about buying this book at 1st. After reading alot of reviews, I decieded to purchase it. The book was good!! This book is about 4 friends (Mercedes, Carissa, Kenyetta, Yvette) willing 2 do whatever they have to for the men in their lives. Theses women face several obstacles, only to be let down by the men they have held down for years. One man's greed and need for power causes a gap in the relationship of others around him. With the lines drawn and the war about to begin, it's a fight to see who will endure in the end. The answer may surprise U.......

PITBULLS IN A SKIRT had me drawn from the cover. It's been a long time since a book cover had me as excited as this one did! I was thoroughly impressed.

PITBULLS IN A SKIRT is a fascinating story which chronicles the life of four friends: Mercedes, Kenyatta, Carissa and Yvette. They were known to be the true spine of the body of the organization, the Emerald City, which was run by their boyfriends. As with all stories, success only lasts for so long before it is put through the test by determining who is truly loyal to the cause.

PITBULLS IN A SKIRT takes its reader on an action-packed journey filled with drama and deceit. It perfectly illustrates the pros and cons of mixing business with pleasure. Much praise goes out to Mikal Malone for finally showing women in a different light. He has finally given strong women the respect they deserve. I would definitely recommend this book, it was an excellent read. I am looking forward to reading more novels by Mikal Malone.

These women in the book did not play, they held it down for their men. A sure Cartel hit!!! The Cartel Doesnt Play!!!!
