This book answered all my questions about the turmoil in the middle east and the futility of trying to make peace with these people. Their mission in life is to see us converted to radical Islam or dead. It makes one wonder when our government is going to get tough enough to irradicate the power these people have to annihilate us on our own shores using the Constitiuion as a cover up to protect themselves. We citizens need to wake up and hold firm to the tenants of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.I've bought 6 more of these books to give to friends to help them understand. Reading this book is like taking a college course on the Middle East. I can't think of anything left out. Being guided through the past 50+ years by our tour director Miss Darwish, we visit her homeland Egypt and then her relocation in 1970 to the good ol' U.S.A. With her eyes we capture a first hand look into the people, customs and politics of Egypt from the mid-1950's onward. And then as she gravitates to her new homeland, the U.S., we see what she sees for the first time, much of what we here in the states take for granted. The foremost point that her story projects is how she came to the realization that what she had been taught all her life growing up in Egypt was very questionable to say the least, resulting in a new found love and respect for Israel and the Jewish people as well as an appreciation for the American way of life. A secondary point she provides is the observation she shares regarding the radical Islam agenda present today in the U.S. Upon finishing this book I searched for speaking engagements that Miss Darwish gives regularly and will be loaning this book to friends.
What a wonderful, caring, compassionate, intelligent and strong woman Nonie Darish is and I am grateful we have her with us today. (Review Data Last Updated: 2009-08-13 00:12:31 EST)

I read this book, well at least the first part well over a year ago. Yes, the beginning is interesting but then she goes the route of George W. Bush/Dick Cheney/Donald Rumsfeld. There is an endorcement from FORMER Senator Rick Santorum of PA which should have told me not to read it.He is the family values guy who lost his Senate seat due to his talking down to women. I put it in the recycle bin since I would never recommend it to anyone.
