This is a great one volume bible commentary but don't be fooled into thinking this is a study bible. There is just too much info in it to be anything but another single volume commentary. At times, especially in the new testament, the commentary takes up 90% of the page with a few lines of scripture at the top. The best thing about this bible in my opinion are the various lists, charts, and diagrams. They really help me understand.

Now, if I only read the Bible daily, pray about it, and execute the inspirations, I will be OK. Dealing with cancer is tough, but my experience since reading daily is that I am grateful for the chance to change my lifes direction. I no longer am living for money,power and ego, I live to help the 'poorest of the poor'

I love the Life Application Bible. It tells you how to apply what the Bible is saying to your everyday life. I would recommend it to anyone who is serious about putting the Word of God to work in their lives. I also like the NIV version Jo Price.

This bible is SO easy to understand there is soo much more to each word that your read it gives you verses on words in the scripture has a great! concordenace has a great explination of the words in the bible and the scriptures as well vurse by vurse.. this bible is why i am faithfully very active in many bible reading groups small groups church readings and bible studys as well... if you want to get into gods word MORE! and accually understand the first time you read it what you are reading and everything behind it... THIS IS the bible for you!

In addition to the text of the Scriptures, this one gives lots of other information helping to put it into context. Each book has an overview section that tells about the major themes of the book, outlines the text, tells about key verses, etc.

There are also numerous profiles of major figures of the Bible. These go through strengths, weaknesses, accomplishments, mistakes, lessons learned, key verses, etc. They are very helpful in summarizing information about many of the key people.

There are lots of maps, a concordance, and lots of other aids.

Perhaps the most important feature of this particular Bible is the way that it helps give applications from the Scriptures to daily living.

This Bible was one of the best I have ever found. It is completely comprehensive in the layout and the way the foot notes are created. The notes and introductions really pose questions to ask yourself as you are reading, and the historical backgrounds are very significant for those that want to understand the cultural relevances in certain passages. This is an excellent Bible for the serious scholar and also for those who are opening up the word if God for the first time.
