Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You To Know About

Kevin Trudeau blows the lid off a nest of deception and double standards concerning general and individual health in this new book, "Natural Cures 'They' Don't Want You To Know About." Kevin has risked government prosecution to bring you the full story of an intricate conspiracy.

From the retail supermarket outlets of huge, publicly traded corporations comes processed, manipulated, engineered "food products" - produced by other wings of the same corporation. These artificial, toxic treats are then sold with the blessings of the Federal Trade Commission and Food and Drug Administration - government organizations charged with safeguarding the public good - laying the foundations for future disease and chronic ill-health for the consumer, and a guaranteed source of revenue for the medical and pharmaceutical sectors.

Kevin reveals the shocking truth of how drugs - which are being advertised directly to the consumer, pushing their use to an all-time high - are actually the cause of illness and disease climbing to near epidemic levels.

And, though it sounds dire, Kevin offers a light in the darkness and directs the reader to scores and scores of alternative therapies, medical practices, philosophies and - most importantly - potential cures that help your body regain its natural state of health and vibrancy.

So follow Kevin on an amazing journey through the behind-the-scenes world of corporate sponsored "nutrition" and "health," and learn about "Natural Cures 'THEY' Don't Want You To Know About."

Shame on those who have panned this book! This book (and others like it) provide a great public service which has nothing to do with its stated (to educate the public) or real (to make more money for a con artist) purpose. Namely, it's a great way to determine if you are (1) a paranoid, and/or (2) lacking in basic intelligence. If you suspect that you (or someone you know) may fit into either (or both?) categories, but aren't sure, buy a copy of this book and read it / have the suspect of your choice read it. If after doing so (actually a chapter or two would suffice) the reader can't tell that the contents are obvious garbage, then the verdict is in! Anyone who has so little knowledge of basic logic, biology, medicine, and the scientific method that they can accept this drivel as fact has just identified themselves as a danger to themselves and others. They probably shouldn't be allowed to vote, have kids, handle sharp implements, or engage in any other activity that would allow them to endanger themselves or society at large. By all means buy a copy (or two ) today, use it as directed above and help identify the truly deficient lurking in our midst. Help stamp out cluelessness today.

I was extremely disappointed with this book. I paid good money to get what the Infomercial said were lots of secrets for natural cures for just about everything under the sun. Instead, what this book offers is website addresses and names of OTHER publications you should buy (pay even more money for) in order to find out the so-called secrets. In other instances - such as stopping smoking - the book tells you that in order to learn the "secret," you must log onto the author's website and become a "private" (paying) member and THEN, you can find out the secret. This book was a TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME!!!

The Natural Cures company stole money from me!!! Once they have your credit card information (for their "free" newsletter that I tried to cancel but they never did). This company charged me multiple times and refused to give me credit. Finally my credit card company had to get involved because Natural Cures found no record of my multiple requests to cancel what I did not order. The company still refused to refund all my money!

Now, after 6 months, they have started charging my credit card again and are giving me the run around about refunding it. I contacted them over a month ago and they are still telling me it will take another 30 days for a refund for something I did not order. Be wary of this man and this company!

I noticed that you can buy this book used from prices starting at one cent. I wouldn't pay that for it. Here is some of this joker's "advice" -
don't use sunscreen (they cause cancer; not the sun); don't use an electric clothes dryer; don't eat anything from a microwave oven; never drink tap water; don't eat from chain restaurants; don't eat anything that's pasteurized; don't drink beer or wine unless you have made it yourself. Right! Don't eat anything in a box, can, jar, or package!!!
Take a colon cleanser every day for 15 days; it you can't eat it, don't put it on your skin; don't eat anything with labels that say "fat free", "sugar free", or "low carbs". The stupidity just goes on and on and on. Oh, and I found this interesting - DON'T go to a psychiatrist or psychologist - DO dianetics/scientology. What a surprise! NOT!
As other reviewers have said, all of the "real" advice requires you to buy another book, or go to his web site, or subscribe to his newsletter. In fact, he has an entire chapter, called "The Solution" that involves nothing more than giving him more money.
My husband heard about this book on the radio and purchased it. Trust me, the paper it's printed on is worth more than this author's advice.
Amazon would not let me enter this review without giving it at least one star. I would give it none.

The book is terrible and contains little more than a conspiracy theory. Do not buy this book. Like he said, "I'm not a doctor, I'm just reporting." A lot of these "cures" are fairly well known anyways, even Wikipedia contains most of these "cures".

Kevin Trudeau may well be as much all about the money as he blames the whole world, have crime records, and more. Yet, people still have to listen to him. Most people in America are very negligent about their obesity and diet despite the epidemics of cancer and more diseases. Everybody has known at least a person with a severe disease, such as diabetes, we all know that the canned and boxed food has chemical that one should never eat alone. But, as Kevin exposes, the power of advertisement, media (so called "liberal") and government has been able to blind our society with very typical lies such as "the food only has small amounts of chemicals, it's OK", "I'm only having minor pains", or the plain denial of obesity, the most typical of all. After all, the medical science has progressed a lot and our health insurance (for those who have it) will deal with any trouble as many think.

No, the medical science has not progressed that much. Walk around a cementary and you'll find plenty of peole who died before 50. The statistics claim we live longer than ever before and much more in favor of medicine, what you may not know is that you can cliam whatever with statistics. The amount of lies out there is so big that we have already bought most of them.

Modern medicine has focused mostly on pain killers, which makes it more appealing than ever before. Yet, it's still typical for many people going from doctor to doctor to tell them all their pains and problems just to be told to drink water, take it easy, pay their copay and take more painkillers, so they neglect their problem. The situation is just like Kevin said, suppose that whenever your car sends you a repair signal the mechanic only turns the signal off. That is what current medicine does. It's pathetic how people are more caring with their cars than with themselves.

Most reviewers dismiss Kevin's challenges, such as drinking a full cup of artificial flavors or colors as gross and unrealistic because we simply dispose all those chemical over time. Never wonder how we can dispose all those chemical when water consumption is dismissal? No, those chemical stay in our bodies, especially in the fatty tissues, which makes far more difficult to expel. People truly drink at least a full cup a poisonous chemicals.

Most of Kevin's remedies are not practical or cheap at all, yet he is the single one who has been able to shake me and wake me up from my negligence and made me eat vegetable salads for supper, go organic and cut the meat. I never thought I could go enjoy a vegetable salad! And a salad with just a little organic dressing! Many other people do eat vegetables, but load them with fatty chemical dressing. "Low fat"? "Natural ingredients"? Read what Kevin says, and it's true. Changing my life and relieving me from minor pains that were starting to accumulate on my body was his remedy for me. Other than that, I haven't bought a single one of his products. I haven't even bother to visit his web site!

The fact that most reviewer do not stay on topic but bash his past or anything else and write very short and sloppy reviews make me think that corporations are behind many of those reviews. I am well aware that many people stand for corporation and this system that would always fire them at the slightest chance to outsource their jobs to China, but it's still puzzling to find so many. After all, only circa 30% of Americans admit being conservative, far less than the majority (circa 50%) who don't claim any preference. And just in case you wonder, no I'm not communist, I believe in common sense, more regulation, just like they do in Europe, and still a rich and industrious area. Which one is richer, Europe or America? I don't care; nobody can prove who is richer. They're both rich. Now, let's get back to topic. You still think it's insane paranoia to think on conspiracies, then why is it that when writing this review, this very web site, which should be foucused on selling, recommends tagging this book with marks such as "felon", "con man", etc. All of them, again, off the topic.

Kevin's writing can be scarier than a Stephen King's novel! No kidding! His book should be classified as pure terror, but in a new category, real terror, demonology and drama. The vampires and demons he talks about are real and far more lethal and evil than Voldemort. If this is a problem for you (no blame you), you can read Dr. Don Colbert's books instead.

And lastly, Kevin does provide a some literature to back up his claims, but most of it comes from daily experience that is available to anybody, all the things that we are seeing in public health, for example he exposes the medical corporation and colleges making huge fortunes to support research, publishing obscure articles to cover the fact that they are not solving anything for real. And he explains our system as well: it's all about the money. Suppose that the hospital and companies really cared for finding real cheap cures, they would lose so much!

I was disappionted. Actual remedies cannot be disclosed in the book because according to the author the government is closely watching him, but he offers the information thru his web site for a 9.95/ mo membership fee. Keven Trdeau states it is his mission to help others by offering this important information which I was willing to pay for when purchasing the book. I get the feeling that it's not just the government who is looking to make a profit.

"I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore." Kevin Trudeau repeatedly says this through the book. "It's all about the money." He also repeatedly says this through the book. Is this true? You bet your life it is. It's great that someone had the guts to take on the FTC and the FDA, as well as the pharmaceutical industry. A large part of this book targets the unethical health care industry, and unethical associations like the FTC and FDA. It really is all about the money. They want to keep you sick. They don't want you to get better! It finally makes sense why these companies crank out what the author refers to as "poison" to put in our body. It's all a scam to keep us sick so we keep coming back to them. The government agencies, medical doctors, and pharmaceutical companies are ALL in on it. Trudeau exposes these lying, cheating, hypocritical snakes for the lowly trash they are. It's no wonder he's "mad as hell." I'm mad as hell too, and I'm not going to take it anymore either!

Having been diagnosed with problem after problem (depression, bipolar, autism, etc.), and being prescribed different drugs all my life, it's no wonder I was never any better. Every drug I ever put into my body was designed to keep me coming back for more drugs. If big tobacco can be openly fried about their unethical practices, then why can't the FTC or the FDA? It's because they've got the money to keep you quiet, and the authority of bogus laws that they somehow got past congress to censor anyone who goes against what they say. If they had their way, this book would not be in print.

Yes, Trudeau has a criminal record and a history of criminal activity. Nobody can deny that. I don't deny that. But this man is truly an example of the fact that people can and do change, and he changed for the better and is changing the world for the better, one person at a time.

Read this book. Do what it says. Put it into practice. I did, and it paid off. I'm not depressed anymore, I have more energy, I've lost weight, I have more physical strength and endurance. I'm fit as a fiddle, thanks to this book. I live this book, I believe in this book, and I love this book. It's my Bible! Give it a try, you'll be surprised at the results.

A very interesting book, so many things which can be done for our bodies to feel better, to live better. Sometimes reading "Natural Cures..." I was wondering what can we do, what can we eat while practically everything is toxic for us, horrible. This is my first book with that kind of knowledge and I decided to go further and read more. IF there is possibility to live without drugs, and therefore live much better I want that, definitely ;)

(Hide Review...)  This is not science!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reviewer Permalink
This man does not use science. First of all, in alternative medicine, a "toxin" does not exist. Secondly, organic food has NO SCIENCE or clinical studies to merit buying them. People who claim to feel better when switching to organic food go through something called the "placebo effect." This man also accuses the government of poisoning us. If that was true, then wouldn't there be ALOT more people doing what he is doing? It wouldn't be just a small one man army.

Another point that I would like to bring up is that he claims that the fact that he is not a doctor is the number one qualification for him. He rationalizes this by saying that if doctors have been indoctrinated so much by the "system" then they don't have what it takes to make legitimate conclusions. As a biology major, and as someone who is going to be applying to med school soon, I would like to say that this is just plain stupid;. I have not been "indoctrinated" in fact, I argue alot with my professors about certain subjects.

So maybe I am just one of those "indoctrinated sheep" that the medical community is pushing out.

Or I am a rational human being that understands that in order to make a claim about anything medically, there must be science to back it up.

No wait, it can't be the truth, I must just be another one of those "they" people.

(Hide Review...)  A collection of disorganized thoughts
Reviewer Permalink
This book is disorganized and unstructured. I guess this is a result of self publishing, in that there is no one there to edit the finished product.

The basic theme is to cleanse your entire body and to not take any prescription drugs. On the one hand I find Kevin's fight against the FDA admirable. It may open the eyes of people who had no idea that FDA all about the money. But on the other hand I can't help but wonder if his black-and-white thinking is clouded by his scientology beliefs. He does praise scientology in this book.

Some of his ideas seem illogical and unsubstantiated. I am a huge fan of alternative medicine, and I am all for books that educate the general public about various options. But this book doesn't do a very good job. There are some good ideas here and there, but the entire book reads like a list of his thoughts and ideas... without structure.

I have to give credit to Mr. Trudeau for having the balls to write this book. I think most, except the most naive, know there is a lot of greed and corruption in the drug and food industry. Not just there, but in most companies, and for sure all of government. It's nice to have someone come out once in a while to expose these criminals by writing the truth--no holds barred. I know I couldn't do it. Highly recommended.

Hundreds of pages of boring, poorly written, political paranoid propaganda, not a single particle of substantiated fact, endless repetition of alternative therapy potpourri where every thing works and nothing is useful.

If you need to pay to be toll the obvious: that diet, exercise, hygiene, etc. are good for you and the delusional: that colonic cleanses, scientology audits, and dozens of natural cures are going to make you live for ever young, then this is your book.

I didn't even new Kevin's criminal pass but the call to order and the subsequent pressure to buy several products that will be pay effortless by allowing my credit car to be automatically drain each month, gave me an idea of his company business ethics it took 20 minutes to be able to buy the book with out any of the other "wonderful products".

One good thing: the introduction paragraph on competence.

Kevin Trudeau wrote on page 17 of "More Natural Cures Revealed", "By the way, although I look like I am in my early forties, I am really seventy years old...but that means nothing. The stuff in this book really doesn't work!" That sent me to the web where I learned that he was born on Feb 6, 1963. What was that about? Don't think it was tongue in cheek. Books are filled with mostly ranting. Might be benefits in some of the things he recommends and the few products he mentions.

I read this book with an open mind, hoping to find some nuggets of good information.

If you're gullible, e.g. you believe the apparent position of the planets when you were born profoundly impacts your psyche, and are easily conned by cold readings, then you'll like this book; I feel sorry for you, and scared that you make up about half of the US population.
I saw the infomercial for this book, which is very well produced and very convincing, and I read the book, which I found on a family member's bookshelf.
The FDA didn't give Kevin and his compatriots a hard time without cause. The FDA rules boil down to two simple rules: If you want to sell something and claim it cures disease, you need to provide good evidence. If you don't have good evidence, you can still sell it, and provide whatever lousy evidence you have; just don't make claims that aren't backed by that evidence. Kevin and company simply didn't follow these more than reasonable rules.

This book is so chock full of absolute nonsense, and so lacking in information on actual natural cures that I wanted to burn it.

The opening chapter is about a miracle cure he used for a heart defect that was about to kill him. Except it turns out the defect he had is minor - it does not actually cause major problems, let alone death (according to wikipedia). The cure isn't available in the US because studies were done on it and they showed that it was NOT effective. If you want to know about natural cures that studies show don't work, buy this book. Well, except that the book actually tells you that you have to send him more money to find out about most of them, and others report (thank you google!) that if you do send him money, you'll find lots of unauthorized charges on your credit card as well.

The guy has done hard time in prison; look it up. You still want to trust him with your health? The man needs to be locked up, again.

I bought this book and the "More Natural Cures" book one late night while watching Mr. Trudeau on an infomercial. I had just had my son and was desperately wanting to get healthy so it appealed to me. I ordered the books in July and after weeks and weeks went by without them arriving I tried calling the customer service line I originally ordered the books from. Not once did I get a live person and none of my messages were returned. I even sent an e-mail to customer service from his web-site. After a few months went by and all my attempts of getting in touch with the company failed I called my credit card company and filed a complaint and had the charges reversed. I also researched Kevin Trudeau on the Internet and saw that his past was questionable. Most things I read about him were very negative.

Well....out of the blue months after this ordeal the books arrived on my doorstep. I was so put off by my experience I wouldn't even open them. They sat on my book shelf for three months and were not touched until one day when my dad came over to visit. Here is the reason I gave his book two stars. My dad read through the first book and said it had a lot of interesting and eye opening information. I reluctantly began reading the book and I will admit I did learn some things from the book that got me thinking and doing my own research. For the most part it is chalked full of ramblings of how everyone is out to get him and references to go to his web-site but there were a few things that were of some benefit. I learned about coconut oil and the book also inspired me to start eating a more organic natural diet. It also led me to research more credible writers and doctors on the subject of natural health. I am quite certain that Kevin Trudeau is right on the money on SOME of his ideas but unfortunately he completely discredits himself by ranting and raving like he does throughout the book. You might learn a few things if you purchase his book but I strongly suggest you do your research beforehand and consider other avenues for similar information. I am actually very shocked it gets rated as highly as it does on here. There are far more better books that give a lot of the same information.

I am a real person telling a real story. As the result of an auto accident I have chronic SI joint problems. Conventional doctors filled me with steroids, anti-inflams, pain-killers, anti-depressants, etc. Those drugs did not "cure" anything. The side efects on my liver and the option of alternative health care were never mentioned.

After the accident I was basically homebound I went from watching TV a few hours per year to "Couch Potato of the Year"...(add 50 pounds). Warning:If you are depressed, TV will make it worse.

In desperation I began watching TV evangelists who claimed that God wanted me healed(in a nut shell, send money to show your faith). I didn't get healed. I got angry with God... "I believe you created the universe so I know you can heal me. Why are you healing all of these people and not me?" After months of this I cried out, tears rolling down my face, and asked God to open my eyes to the truth, take the blinders off. He did. I later found that there was no proof these people were ever healed. (No MD before and after shots).

With my blinders off I saw them for who they really were; men after money and power. If the big money wasn't there they would not be in the "healing" business. (Christ healed for free).

I believe many doctors enter into the field of medicine with the desire to heal people, but the "pharmaceutical" run medical schools teach "drug prescribing", instead of acknowledging the natural healing power of our bodies. (You can't patent nature, no big money in apples).

We need doctors for accidents, broken limbs, emergencies... and to teach us preventative healthcare.

With my blinders off I realized that our government agencies weren't protecting us either. Side note: When did our "public servants" become royalty? Save the royal treatment for our military and veterans.

I voted for Bush and I voted for the war...but when I got past the patriotic fervor I realized we weren't even protecting our own borders.
It started to look like our military was protecting oil for big business. Those people did not want us there (Iraq). How would you like Chinese soldiers occupying your country? Remember the majority of the terrorists were from Saudi Arabia not Iraq.

These very important issues will intertwine once your blinders come off. Big money (oil)(taxes)(healthcare) and (military). We are the peons paying the slave masters in the form of big taxes. They (big government)do not care about us. (Love your country but not your government).

Do some research..I know Kevin Trudeau did. I now feel that I have some control over my health and that it isn't all a crap shoot. I have been off prescription and OTC drugs since early 2006. I know I am healthier because of Kevin's book. It is a slower, more expensive process because insurance doesn't cover natural and preventative health care.

Sidenote: if prescription drugs cure then why is life insurance more expensive when you are on drugs?

Once your BLINDERS ARE OFF (can't throw pearls to swine):
research the teachings and writings of these 3 enlightened men.

#3)Government Truths:Dr. Ron Paul (Presidential Candidate-2008)ObGyn and 10 year congressman from Texas.

First, I'll say that everything I wanted out of this book appeared in the first fifty pages or so. The rest of the book might be crap. I don't know, I didn't get that far. The first fifty pages is worth way more than the price.

Second, I'll tell you that before I read it, I already was in 100% agreement with the author about everything I read. I reason I sought this book was to give to my ailing father who is being medicated to death by the very profitable medical industry. I myself am not articulate enough to get my points across to him, so I went looking for a book that says what I want to say. This book is just what I was looking for.

If I were to write my own book on this subject, this would be the book. It starts off with a bang, gets right to the point, and it doesn't pull any punches. When the author talks about the medical conspiracy, he uses that word, "conspiracy." When he talks about how most people are brainwashed by the medical religion and it's labcoat-wearing priests, he uses the word "brainwashed." Repeatedly. He makes all the points I would make, and does so far more eloquently than would be able.

My only criticisms are these:
(1) There are no footnotes or references. This is not a big deal for me. I consider this a good introduction to the scandalous state of the "health"-care industry. Anyone who wants more info can easily find it in abundance on the internet for free.
(2) The writing is very direct and not at all diplomatic. For my purposes this may be alright, but I can see some readers being turned-off by the harsh and confrontational tone.
(3) As I said, everything I need is in the first fifty pages or so, and after that the author starts getting into his own health theories which I don't know if I buy into or not. In other words, this book might have been a lot shorter. That said, anyone who gets through the first fifty-pages will get all the benefits I see from reading it.

As far as some of the other criticisms I read about, I didn't see a single reference to the author's website in the text of the book. It's on the dust-jacket but I don't see that as a big deal. If you don't want to subscribe to his website then don't. I know you can find plenty of further information about non-drug, non-surgical health solutions on the Web for free.

This book is very thought provoking and lists some excellent "natural" alternatives to try. Kevin's naturalcures.com website is also excellent with natural solutions listed for many ailments and diseases... and at $9.95 / month membership, it is a good deal considering what you might spend on prescription / non-prescription drugs that might just make you sicker. Check it out, you won't be disappointed. I am now eating more organic foods and paying much closer attention to what I am putting in my mouth and on my skin.

The book opened my eyes to some interesting facts and I did close the door to some foods and expanded my diet with others. I bought a shower filter and now use only bottled water and am glad I did. However, when I subscribed to his web site (which states you can cancel at no cost in 30 days) and canceled in 24 days I was still billed through my credit card. I had to call the CC (what a pain) and dispute the charge. I was told by the CC to watch my bill for the next 3 months to make sure the charge is not a reacurring one. If so I will have to call them back again. I thought that charge was a cheap shot and my opinion of the author dropped a bit. After all he says consistently in the book "It's all about the Money" and the charge made me feel he may be also.

This book is a masterpiece. Contains very reliable information on being healthy and staying alive. Most of the claims in this book has been credited by personal doctors i know. The system needs to stop creating problems. Why distribute a product that MAY CAUSE SIDE EFFECTS? Your goal should be to cure the problem, not to create another.

There is two keywords in this whole equaion, Treat and Cure. If you get medication to treat a dis-ease that means it is only making matters worst, not getting rid of the problem. Medicated drugs only treats the symptoms of a dis-ease.(Now remember a disease is only a dis-ease of the body, which with the right nutrients can come to a normal balanced ease.) Now a cure, brings the dis-eased body to a normal EASE. Basically this is what this book provides. Information that will save your life, time, and money.

For those of you who wrote the bad reviews and dont feel the same way, guess what? Who dont hear will feel.

http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2007/11/kt.shtm

On November 16, 2007, a U.S. District Court judge found Kevin Trudeau in contempt of court for violating a 2004 permanent injunction. The Court found that Trudeau violated the permanent injunction when he misrepresented the contents of his book, "The Weight Loss Cure `They' Don't Want You to Know About," in several infomercials. The permanent injunction banned Trudeau from using infomercials to sell any product, service, or program. The ban contained a narrow exemption for infomercials for books and other publications, but specifically required that Trudeau not misrepresent the content of the books.

Brilliant as a lightening bolt. Brave as a charging bull. Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You to Know About is not the only book out there about the corrupt and conspiratorial intent and actions of governmental agencies, food, drug, and chemical corporations, but it is a great one. The rights and freedoms of the average citizen are definitely under siege. We should all be "mad as hell" and ready to do something about it.

Hello stupid people, this is common sense....what Kevin talks about in his book is true and is documented. I have been very busy researching many things he states in his books "this is what people with common sense do" and have found so many documents that support what he say's and many have been very hard to find even on the internet...as if they were suppressed, go figure huh!
Open your eyes and look, you will see! There is something going on, this is so obvious a child can see it. As my title say's POP THE PILL AND DIE!!!!

JUST SHUT UP!!!!

Buy the book, I ordered both of mine off of Amazon and it is the best book I have ordered from here.

My father is an MD for a large HMO. We both read this book and agree with around 90% of what is written. This is especially true when the author states "the medical and food industry does not care about its customers...its all about the money". Sad but very true...if you think your doctor really cares about you and or your health think again. Wake up! All you are to doctors is just another medical record #! Doctors speak out patients names and put on a phony smile as a courtesy NOT because they care about you.

Overall, the gist of what the author is saying is on target (take care of yourself, eat right, know why natural cures aren't mainstream-hint: it has to do with the pharmacutical industry and their cozy relationship with the FDA). However, I was finished reading this book once the author stated that schools are paid $500 by the government for each child that is diagnosed as being ADHD. This is absolutely untrue. Some ADHD children are also learning disabled, and do receive special services that add to the cost of educating children, but no school is collecting cash for getting children addicted to ritalin. Also, schools don't diagnose ADHD, doctors do. As to why there seems to be a rise in the number of children with ADHD these days: please consider that most schools in this country have eliminated recesses (they usually have one recess in the middle of the day, at lunch time); we now expect young children (kindergarten through 2nd graders) to spend a straight 90 minutes in their reading instruction and a full hour in their math instruction; circle time and learning centers have all but been eliminated, as well as art, due to the strict time allotments for academics that states and districts are requiring; and the curriculum expectations have dropped down a grade at the elementary level (ie: kindergartners are now doing what used to be expected at first grade, etc.). Is it any wonder why kids act out?

(Hide Review...)  Good information about healthcare in America
Reviewer Permalink
I am mostly targeting the people who don't give this book a chance and who think Trudeau is just a scam artist. And for all the people who don't understand what this book is trying to tell you then that just shows ignorance and why we are the laziest country in the world. Kevin is simply trying to get information out to the public about how healthcare is run in America and he explains repeatedly that he is not a doctor and to see your doctor before doing anything in the book. I have worked for doctors and see the big pharma companies do their business. The reason healthcare is such a big problem in this country is because we are the sickest people in the world. Did you ever think that WE are the problem with healthcare not the government. All we have to do is take better care of ourselves and it won't be out of control. At least Kevin is trying to make a difference instead of all the fat people feeding there faces with junk and making things worse. There is no excuse for the obesity problem with books like this and the information about health all over the internet. This book is not only a health plan but is information to what toxins to stay away from. Some of the things are a little extreme like the 15 colonics but that is for the extremely sick and diseased. Your body will actually self clean itself with the right fiber intake and diet. And Kevin even says to just try a as many things as you feel comfortable not all of them at once. Everybody's health is different and some things might work great and some won't at all but to not try is just sad. If everybody wants to keep smoking, eat fat, and not move a little bit then you deserve to be sick. Then you want to run to the doctor for a pill for the easy way out. Most of the things he tells are eye opening and made me think that it could really be true because I know how the body works. If the things in the book didn't work then it wouldn't sell so many copies and it would be off the market. Think about it. Kevin gets his information from other doctors and experts in health and all of that information is not free to get. Everybody that works for the website needs to get paid right. I got 2 books from Kevin's infomercial and all I paid was shipping so I guess he didn't rip me off because he wants the information to spread. He already made his millions. I think Kevin has done a good justice in making this book and actually helping people change their lives. So you have a choice, live healthy now or send all your money to the drug companies when you are sick, who are the real greedy people that want you to buy their products for the rest of your life. It's funny how Dr. Oz is making bestsellers with the same information popping up from Kevin's book 2 years ago. I only read this book for information and I wake up every day full of energy and never tired like you're supposed to.

Also, in the second book he recommends using Hydrogen Peroxide and DMSO. Although they could be effective products, they are not exactly natural.

To his credit, this book did inspire me to read other more credible material. I'm highly glad that I didn't spend a lot of money on his regurgitation of other people's work.

(Hide Review...)  Far too negative
Reviewer Permalink
I picked up a copy of Kevin Trudeau's book yesterday and sat down to read it last night. To be honest, I've never heard of him before, but was curious to see what kind of information this book contained. It didn't take me very long to conclude that, while Mr. Trudeau does offer some good suggestions for correcting bad lifestyles and maintaining good physical health, the advice - I find - is far too negative. There is an enormous amount of bashing of the health industry, and even worse, far too much scaremongering. Much of his information I found to be not only very repetitious, but I am quite skeptical about as well...where were the reports and peer reviews to back his facts? The impression I walked away with was that much of what was written has been based upon suppositions, and a great deal of his facts were 'stretched' to emphasize the scare tactics.

Personally, I believe if one skims past the conspiracy accusations and is able to sort out fact from fiction, then some of the recommendations in Mr. Trudeau's book might be helpful. But therein lies the problem...how many know what is truth and what is supposition, created to attack government and medical industry? There is simply too much accusation, too many statements designed to scare the public into believing the statements, and certainly not enough data to support them.

My thoughts on the topic tend to be that as far as individual health concerns go, the simplest ground rules, mixed with common sense, are generally best. Eat healthier, organic fruits and vegetables; exercise regularly; make sure the body gets enough water and enough deep rest; and if one is to indulge in processed or 'junk' foods, then do so sparingly, but not with guilt or shame. We need to be able to understand what makes our bodies function well, so as individuals we must learn to listen to what our bodies are saying to us. Yes, Mr. Trudeau does advocate all of this in his book - which is the reason it earned any stars from me - but encouraging people to live in fear and to not trust the medical community is not the way to advocate healthier living. We can learn to balance a healthy lifestyle by working with both allopaths (traditional doctors) and naturopaths in deciding what works best for ourselves. As a recommendation, I would suggest Dr. Deepak Chopra's writings on natural health in order to understand how one can live a healthy, happy life that is not grounded in fear and bias, rather than a book such as Kevin Trudeau's.

Ok, I can only say this about his book. If you actually read it with an open mind, and can get through the repeating sentances and get to the parts he talks about how to be healthier, you will like his book. If you walk into this book with your own thoughts that cannot be changed, then don't read this book.

People here with their reviews that are negative are only pin-pointing parts of the book. They don't tell you the whole picture. There is one person that says you have to be rich to do what he says. It is true you have to be rich to do EVERYTHING Kevin says, but somethings Kevin says are not expensive to do, and if you try even one thing, you most likekly would notice changes in your body.

The only thing I can say about this book that I don't like is that he repeats the same sentances over and over. If you can get through the repeatativeness you might actually like this book.

I have no opinion if this is a good or bad book.

Great book! What this book caused me to do was think for myself. I did further research and made some changes. I have had experience with some of the things Kevin Trudeau talks about in the book long before I heard about this book or thought that natural cures existed. When my daughter had IBS I asked her pediatrician "can this be controlled or improved by diet", his answer "no, diet will have little if any affect". That's interesting, we all know what fiber will do. He wrote a prescription. I tossed it and tried some other remedies. Many things helped but changing increasing fruits & veggies, eliminating fastfood, and changing to an all organic diet cured the problem entirely. When she had a persistent cough, I took her to see the pediatrician. He said it was allergies and wrote a prescription for a nasal spray with steroids! I asked what she was allergic too and he said "its in the air". I noticed she coughed more at home, we have pets so I bought an ionic breeze to clean the air, cough stopped. Then my son was born and he has had hives and other allergic reactions. I've finally stopped asking the pediatrician and cut out all the processed foods. Our family now eats an all organic diet and my son's health has improved 100%. He experienced behavioral problems, headaches, insomonia at age 3, but no more after ditching the processed sugar in favor of cane sugar or agave, eliminated dairy, no white flour, and bought all organic foods. My son has transformed. He no longer looks tired, he has a sunny disposition and he is .... happy! Trudeau is not selling a product, he is saying essentially "Wake up America! Think for yourself! Turn over the package, read the label. Eat healthy. Drink more water. Stop taking over the counter and prescription medication for whatever ails you, fix the problem." Wow what's so wrong about that? Shouldn't we all eat healthier, stop drinking pop, drink more water, stay away from burgers and fries? The only people who would disagree are fast food companies! Well as I look around at a very fat society (I apologize for being so blunt, but folks look around you) and I see these children in school, more than half are obese! Why are children obese???? When I was a little girl, I think we had one obese girl in the entire school. Now its more like one in four at my daughter's school. Autism is on a 400% increase. ADHD, had anyone heard of that when I was a little girl? Why aren't people demandng answers to these questions? Well I say hurray for Trudeau and others like him. I personally recommend this book, and encourage you to read it and let it BEGIN your journey to a healthier lifestyle.

It also is a really eye opener to the current realities of life. The bad thing about this book is its a bit too repetitive and it does not give you specifics about the cures, which should of been discussed more in detail, but i give it 4 stars since it has really good facts & overall i liked it.

(Hide Review...)  Worth the Money
Reviewer Permalink
This book is very enligthening. Yes, people do live longer today but at what cost. Degenerative diseases are at an all time high. All drugs have side effects and they don't "cure" anything. If they cured ailments why do we have to keep taking them? All drugs do is supress the symptoms and never get to the root cause of the problem. All traditional doctors do is write prescriptions and cut out body parts. A lot of Kevin's ideas can be found in other sources. There is a lot of truth to what he is saying. It is all about the money. If everyone was healthy and used natural remedies the healthcare industry would suffer greatly. Read the food labels and tell me if you know what half that crap is. Why does food need all the additives and preservaties? It doesn't - it's put in there because it's cheaper and makes the food taste good. I have been buying organic food and using natural body products. It does make a difference. It may cost more but can you really put a price on your health. I know people who go broke trying to buy all their prescriptions each month. It's common sense the more natural the better for your body. I will visit my doctor if I feel I need to but I will definitely implement as many of Kevin's ideas that I find pratical and can afford. I can't do everything in his book but I can do some of the things. The book is worth the money so please read it. People are so judgemental. So what if he is a convicted felon? He tells you this in his book. He was greedy which puts him in a better position to recognize greed. $9.95 a month to subscribe to his website is not a whole lot of money per month if you feel it's worth it. We all spend money on things that we feel are important to us. Another consumer advocate that I like is Mike Adams (The Health Ranger). You can subscribe to his newsletter for free at www.newstarget.com. He has free downloads but there is a cost for some of his books. It's not free to publish a book. Take care and good health.

(Hide Review...)  Some fantastic advice
Reviewer Permalink
I approached the best selling "Natural Cures 'they' don't want you to know about" with a healthy dose of scepticism. After all, should we really take advice on healthy eating from a convicted fraudster? But I've concluded that Kevin Trudeau is the ideal person to write about the total scam that is the pharmaceutical industry and its packaged food counterpart.

"Natural Cures......" is basically a tirade against the culture of drugs and packaged foods that have taken over the modern world. Trudeau explains how this culture of drugs and snack foods (and some other products) is undoubtedly responsible for making us sick in many ways. He goes on to offer ways to reduce toxins in the body and cure or prevent many diseases.

A lot of what Trudeau teaches us is nothing new for most of us (snack foods have numerous chemicals, GM food loses much of its nutrition, etc.) but he goes to great lengths to make us realise just how serious the problem has become, just how extensive the lobbying and coercion of politicians can be and just how misleading drug or food advertising has become. So many lies and scams are exposed in this publication that there will be at least one revelation for everybody.

After making all this clear, Trudeau goes on to offer tips and ideas - many of them beautifully simple - on leading a healthier lifestyle to clear the body of toxins and "never get sick again".

A lot of the advice is superbly simple yet often something we would never think of (Buy organic fruits and make a fruit shake every day, don't buy any product with ingredients you can't pronounce, etc.) and very passionate. Trudeau clearly practises what he preaches and has very extensive knowledge of the industries he discusses.

It's true that some of the author's ideas make him his own worse enemy. Statements such as "Animals never get sick" and "Wearing a magnetic ring will help you eliminate chaos" simply invite his many critics to knock him. But there are so many articulate, practical and genuinely heartfelt arguments and suggestions in this book, I get the impression many critics have based their reviews on their dislike for the writer.

This book did what "Super Size Me" and "Fast Food Nation" failed to do. It made me realise the dangers of my diet (as the aforementioned works also did) but it also gave me the inspiration and impetus to actually make a positive change. I've done two juice fasts and a water fast since I got this book two months ago. I've taken up many of Trudeau's ideas and I feel far better for it.

Highly recommended, if only to see what the fuss over this NY Times bestseller is all about.

A few points to clear up:

1) This is NOT a scam. There is excellent, verifiable, common sense and easy to follow advice in this book. All the two line "It's a scam" reviews are clearly fakes from people who never read the book.

2) Trudeau DOES NOT recommend Scientology. He makes reference to one author involved in Scientology. That is all.

3) For all the 'smart Alec' people who say "Save money don't buy this book and just lives healthy". What is healthy? Many of us would think of drinking milk, eating @low fat@ foods and taking medicine when we are sick. That's the way we think , and Trudeau gives a balanced argument as to why this is wrong.

Beware of Kevin Trudeau! He is not the least bit concerned about customers and his track record proves it. Be very careful how you order anything from this guy and check the fine print and your credit card statements thoroughly as he is known from taking more from customers than they would like him to. The guy has wit but no integrity!

He pleaded guilty to larceny in 1990 in Massachusetts after being charged with depositing $80,000 in worthless checks. The following year, he pleaded guilty to credit-card fraud in federal district court and was sentenced to nearly two years in prison. The charges involved the use of credit-card numbers from customers of a memory-improvement course Trudeau was promoting.

The FTC first sued Trudeau in 1998, charging that he made false and unsubstantiated claims in infomercials for hair growth, memory and weight-loss products.

In 2003, the agency sued Trudeau for deceptively marketing a calcium product as a cancer cure and a product called Biotape as a pain reliever.
Trudeau paid $2 million in 2004 to settle the FTC's charges and agreed to comply with a court order banning him from infomercials except those that accurately promote books.

In a filing with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the FTC alleged that Trudeau has violated that court order.

(only reason for 2 stars is there is plenty of information in the book people need to be aware of, which by the way has been published by many who are more honest and care about people whom you should give your money to instead of Kevin.)

Kevin Trudeau may not be a very trustworthy person to most. I, myself, am skeptical about his motives. However, the book itself is more of an eye-opener than anything else. While the 'cures' are simply limited to common sense, I still find his words useful in making people aware. You can find similar literature in many places.

Kevin is saying that the government is only concerned with money and power. It's been that way for many years and it will always be that way unless a miracle happens. History repeats itself. All we can do is eat as healthy as we can afford to and keep our bodies moving. I, personally, have been using herbal remedies as well as taking in vitamin and mineral supplements for a few years now and I've never felt healthier. No more fast food, no more processed food.

What really sold me was the fact that it hit so close to home. My mother was a chain smoker and my cousin was an alcoholic. They both died at a young age, not from smoking and not from drinking as one would think. They died from the damages caused by processed foods. My mother had diverticulitis (infection of the intestine), my cousin had a heart attack due to a high sodium diet. Yes, they died from eating the wrong foods, foods "evaluated" and accepted by the FDA.

Now, I know the government did not put a gun to their heads, forcing them to eat these foods. I know that everyone makes their own choices about what they put in their mouths. However, this book is just another way to educate people on what is actually in the foods and how little nutrition they are getting, despite popular belief.

No, I would NOT suggest going to this man's site and spending hundreds of dollars to learn about some natural cure. However, I would suggest reading the book just to prepare yourself for what kinds of toxins and poisons are really out there. I would also suggest picking up a book on nutrition. That's where you'll find the real "cures".

Whether you read this book or not, the bottom line is to keep yourself educated, use common sense and make your own choices about your personal health.

It's so sad how badly backwards-compatible our society has become with real knowledge. If you don't praise this book like a bible, then you are already brainwashed. Kevin Trudeau says things multiple times throughout the book for a reason: to WAKE YOU UP from your brainwashed state. I feel good that I'm not alone in my beliefs about natural health/diet/lifestyle - and that Kevin is on the same page as me (and vice versa). However, what I don't feel too good about is the fact that just about everyone else is completely, 100 percent, B-R-A-I-N-W-A-S-H-E-D. What can be done to help you people? You're like helpless animals on a factory farm. Trapped, controlled, and no way out. Read Kevin's books AGAIN and AGAIN until the information you're reading MAKES COMPLETE SENSE. That my friends, is the first step to recovery. I want to see more people recover from a brainwashed state, I truly do.

It seems that this book was only written to make money. There is no real substance or material presented anywhere in the material. Even tho this book may make you think again about our government institutions, which is a good thing, it does not bring any hard evidence forward for the atrocities that he claims they have done.

My only concern is the people that he may be hurting and have stopped using their medications because of reading this book. There are some serious possibilities that people could die if they read this and try to apply its philosophy to their lives. It should be read with skepticism.

I would recommend getting at the library or borrowing this book before buying.

After looking for this book for like 3 months I found it here on Amazon, I'm glad I did too the information is so useful and after reading and putting some of his recommendations to use I feel much healthier (like he claims in his book consult a health professional before beginning) but I do feel much better after reading and trying some of his techniques out.

I think the info in this book is ok, but these are really difficult steps to take. I think the book is worth the amazon price, if you want a very comprehensive listing of alternative healing ideas. Don't expect miracles. Don't buy it from the tv ad, they never answer the customer satisfaction phone number once you have the product.

Kevin Trudeau is trying to become to personal health what Tony Robbins tried to become to the self help arena in "Natural Cures". I have read, seen and heard of most of this info from "Natural Cures" from various sources in print and the personal guidance of MD's. Many statements in this book are fact and some of it one can not be too sure about. You have to make that decision yourself.

Kevin does tend to 'hammer away' about the FDA, the FTC, and the medical / pharmaceutical complex and how they GOVERN this country by keeping the truth from Americans regarding natural healing. Once or twice is enough, Kevin !! If he only hit on that aspect of the book twice it would only be 250 pages long instead of 534. So much for the overview.

I will say that everyone should read this book mainly because most Americans do not know alot of the info contained in the book 'Natural Cures'. It can help to de-toxify your body. The main problem with Mr. Trudeau's info is that he wants you to be totally organic in your diet. That is fine and good if you choose this suggested route. You will be 2 things by choosing to be totally organic in your diet: you will be healthy and BROKE. I have been in organic food stores and I'm here to tell you that they ain't CHEAP ! Trudeau goes on to say you should NEVER eat shell fish or fast foods. This may be healthy but not practical. We are in the 21st century after all.

One has to agree and probaly know that you should never drink todays tap water which makes sense. When I am told to eat all organic fruits and vegetables by someone then I know they are dillusional. I can't match check books with this guy and I hope he knows that about his readership in general. I do agree with the statement that Americans are dehydrated and do need to 'put down' more water.

Whether you buy 'Natural Cures' new or used read it and try to develop a set of health principles of your own. For the most part I have to say that Mr. Trudeau is on the right track concerning natural health issues. It should also be said that reading this book will be more beneficial to anyone as opposed to watching ( GD ) American Idle (?) or Survivor. It will probably extend your life. Here's to your health !!
