The Life Application Study Bible is fantastic! Easy to read and understand. The passage explanations at the bottom of each page explain the passages in detail and will help you to understand what was just read. I recommend this Bible to anyone who wants to learn and understand the Words of God. Excellent choice!

I purchased this Bible as a gift for a relative. As a result of this Bible she has told me that things are much clearer and she cannot put it down. The Bonus CD is an extra blessing and she said the graphic are undescribable. This is an excellent gift for a new believer and since I see how happy this Bible has made my relative, I have decided to purchase one for myself as an additional study resource.

I actually purchased 3 of these Bibles, one for my husband, one for my mother, and one for myself. I love the Bible, it's so easy to read and understand. My mother loves her's also, especially the large print. She says it's easier for her to read and understand.

I liken this Bible translation to that old, reliable in-line Slant6 motor with the power of a modern Hemi V8. Footnotes and commentary is spot on for those that take the time to read such things. If one wants to raise their degree of reading past the junior high school level, then this Bible is for you. The eloquent manner and prose used in this timeless standard is unparalleled. I got this after I learned that the reading level of this work is equivalent to the 12th grade/ freshman college level. I wanted to raise my understanding of the English language and this helped a lot. However, the main factor in my getting this was I found out that many verses were removed in other "New Age" translations, most notably the NIV. The clincher was seeing Jesus' word removed in that 'book'. To me that was UNACCEPTABLE. He said those words for a reason i.e. "For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost."- Matthew 18:11. THE WHOLE REASON WHY HE CAME! Keep in mind that we don't live forever and there is a God because this planet and it's perfection to support life is not an accident. Research at the odds of that fact...

This Bible will be a very good reference and eventual replacement for those newer bibles, if one has those: It replaced my NIV. Research what was said above concerning missing passages and ask for guidance to get this wonderful book because you need it. GOD Bless!

This was the first Bible I read from cover to cover. It uses the New Living Translation, which is a "thought by thought" translation rendered in language that a sixth grader should be able to read - especially good for someone who's intimidated by the prospect of doing more than looking up a verse here and there. It also contains lots of great maps and sidebars, as well as extensive notes that explain how specific words, phrases and verses pertain to our pasts, presents and eternal futures. I've given many copies away at the nursing home where I hang out, and have seen it captivate more than one elderly person who had never read more than a passage or two from the family Bible.

Excellent BUT the print is so small I have to use a magnifying glass to do a whole lot of study.

A friend loaned me hers and I found that the living applications sections as well as information on the different Biblical figures to be very informative and enlightening. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to have a deeper understanding of how to apply information in the bible to their lives.

I really enjoy reading this Bible. The King James Version is the only one I have ever read but I love to read them together. It is a Great study bible. So much information about the people and places.

The Bible was a Christmas present for my husband and he loved it. I have looked around and this was exactly what I was looking for that I knew would be perfect for what he wanted. I grew up with a King James version Bible, but he didn't. With him being a new christian, I knew he wanted something that he could understand but had references that would allow him to study the Word and continue to grow in the Word and this bible was it. I recommend it to everyone!

PROs:
Lots of suggestions for daily living (hence the "Application" title)
Good - average - commentary on most chapters/verses.
The font used is good - about the same as other Bibles of this size.
It feels well crafted - the binding looks to be of quality
Plenty of charts, maps and other "goodies" to aid in understanding.

CONs:
As with lots of other Bibles in this category, not the best paper. It's thin and allows a good deal of bleed-through. Sometimes it's hard to get hold of a single page to turn. Feels like you are going to rip it out if you are not very careful.

Don't get me wrong... it's livable. Some "weaker" eyes may have trouble reading, and if you have arthritis or some other debilitation with you hands/fingers... you may want to look elsewhere.

FINAL:
Barring any of the issues one might foresee with the pages, I think this would aid in any believers' walk and study.

Anybody just looking but not yet saved would do well to read this one or a MacArthur study. Both offer commentaries of superior aid in understanding and living.

I bought this for a co-worker & am excited to share it with her, as she has little knowledge & almost no understanding of God's goodness or the richness of His Word.
It is a perfect starter to learning of, leaning on & loving our magnificent God in simple language & with excellent study helps.

I think this is a wonderful study help. The notes and personality profiles are great, as are the time lines and charts. I use it regularly with an ESV ESV, Thinline TruTone Bible (Chestnut Diamond, Red Letter)for more in-depth, "literal" study.

The only regret I have is that I bought the hardcover edition instead of a nicer leather one.
