Being a college senior I was a little nervous about the asvab as I have not taken any math courses in years now. This book was a great refresher and contained detailed information on what to expect on the asvab. The practice tests were great as they had explanations with the answer keys to make sure you comprehend the questions you miss. If you are looking to patent your math and reading skills before taking the asvab I highly recommend this book as the questions on the actual asvab mimicked every problem set for math and reading in this study guide. I do not give a five star because the mechanical and electrical examples did not show up on the actual exam.

the aqft, which is the part of the asvab that determines your job is covered well in this review. i took the computer version and made a 91 for my aqft. i got the job i wanted, with the bonus =D. i would recommend this product for anyone preparing to join the military.

After studying this entire handbook, my son was able to score an 81 on his ASVAB and enter the U.S. Army earning the option to choose any field he wanted.

I was looking for a study guide to up my GT score so I could apply for Warrant Officer. This book is very good; it helped explain that GT score is only 4 courses, so it cut down my study time a lot. Math is hard for me, and the book explains EVERYTHING. Things I forgot from high school, it went from simple and worked its way up. There is always practice questions to check your learning and the practice tests were great, gave me the confidence I needed to retake the test and up my score. I had only 1 week to study, and the book definetly worked!! It takes you through step by step, a very good guide.

The real ASVAB has 10 sections, not 8. This book is not complete. Buy the Peterson's study guide instead.

I ended up getting a 70 on my QAFT, and a 67 in electronics. Do not study this book too hard, but study from various books to get a breath of knowledge.

The ASVAB is easy, just gotta find reliable information. Like I said, this book helps a bit.

Before taking the ASVAB I wasn't really sure what to expect. The online practice tests are nice but are usually outdated. This product was bought for me as a gift and I was very pleased with it. The book will first have you do a practice test to let you know how you do in each subtest. After this diagnostic test you will go through each topic and learn how to attack questions and what to expect on the ASVAB. Obviously this guide cant help you achieve the score your aiming for without you dedicating some time to actually study and do things properly. The ASVAB is easy, if you passed high school you can pass it. This guide to the ASVAB is great for people who are not sure what to expect or for those who would like to shore up on the topics and have confidence when taking the actual test. The Kaplan guide helped me achieve an 88 on the ASVAB.

This book does not prepare you for the current computerized ASVAB.
The real ASVAB has 10 sections, not 8 (as outlined in this "up to date" book).
This book completely neglected the "assembling objects" section of the ASVAB!
This book also had incorrect test time lengths as well as number of questions per test section!
It also did a very poor job of preparing me for the electrical section, as nothing in the real ASVAB was remotely relative to what was covered in this book.

My advice is to find the most recently published ASVAB-prep book that covers all 10 sections of the ASVAB.

This book is okay. I bought it mainly to brush up on the automotive section of the ASVAB. The book is easy to read well written and the explanation of the questions can really go a long way towards helping anyone understand the right answer. To be honest if you need anything more than a touch up on the subjects presented on the ASVAB, I don't know if this can help.
