Nothing really new or groundbreaking in this book. The only interesting idea, without hopefully giving too much away, was the affects of radiation on zombies.
Being written in a journal format makes it easy to read an entry, go do something else, come back and read another, go do something else, repeat. I finished the book in two hours while scanning some documents. While books like World War Z and the Morningstar Virus books spank this one, I have come across some zombie stinkers much worse than this book. I have some issues with the fictional author of the diary being military and spending his time cleaning guns and lamenting his situation instead of modifying his environment or making more use of the knowledge that fire will kill the zombies. If you have time to lean, you have time to clean. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-07-12 02:25:09 EST)

Quite simply the best zombie book I have ever read. I am a huge fan of the sub genre of zombie horro in general. This book gets the job done.
First, the first person perspective you get from this is great. The author writes this as told by the journal entries of the main character. It is so well done you feel like you may actually be reading a zombie holocaust survivor journal! It really gets you wrapped up in the story. Second, the action moves quickly. Let's face it, you are reading zombie fiction to be entertained, and fast! This isn't War and Peace, nor does it try to be. The action moves quickly, but the author does a great job on character development, especially the two primary people. Third, and this is the most exciting part for me, he really addresses the "logistics" of a zombie plague. The planning, rationing, equipment the character needs, etc. pulls you into the fantasy. I always wonder, what would you need in a real zombie outbreak? A fictional problem for which the author gives practical real world answers... makes the whole story feel more "real" A fast read, great action, and all zombie... what more could you ask? I am "dying" for the sequel. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-07-10 02:40:57 EST)

I've read a bunch of zombie literature over the years, and I accidentally stumbled across this gem! Written by active military J. Bourne, the book takes the form of a action-packed diary written by a survivor of a zombie plague. Some very interesting plot twists and scenarios, and the fact that it's contemporary, well written and a good read combines to make this a sure classic in the making! The second volume is due out here sometime in 2008, so support the author and pick up a copy of volume one - you won't be disappointed if you enjoy zombie literature.

Much like the zombies in Day By Day Armageddon...this book really snuck up on me. It's a fast 200-page read from the perspective (and journal) of one man trying to survive in a world overrun with the undead.
On the plus side, all the situations are perfect for fans of the zombie genre. The character's motives, actions AND reactions all ring with a certain air of truth. The book works as an homage to any of the Romero films where the reasoning why the undead are returning to life isn't as important as the need for the last humans to fight for survival. It's clear that the author has a solid basis for the military, flying, and weapons and this adds a solid level of believability to the proceedings. I especially like that the character actually takes the times to do and address items that most readers would find themselves saying, "Well, you should do this." It's very easy to support an intelligent protagonist. The minus side is pretty light. Clearly Day By Day Armageddon is the work of a first time author (and smaller publishing house) and some editing may have serviced the novel in sections. There are some grammar issues, although wisely the character mentions that in the writing of his journal not all grammar will be perfect (so it works as a good safety net). For fans of the zombie movies who are looking to venture out into literature, Day By Day Armageddon is a good place to start. It will keep you entertained and "hungry" for a sequel. One of the best pieces of zombie apocalypse story telling ever. I love zombies. I have beeen a fan since seeing Dawn OTD (the orginal) in my early teens. Mr. Bourne has a gift for painting a vivid image in the reader's mind, and leaves you turning pages as time slips by. I hope he completes the sequel soon; I will by it. If you are a fan of the genere, this is a must own. It delivers shocks and gore that should be in any book about this subject, but has you pulling for the main character and the people he comes across during his fight for survival. When the inevitable day comes when the dead walk, and we all must fight to survive; you will be glad that you went on this jouney before thanks to J.L. Bourne.

Do not listen to the few negative reviews for this novel. It's very good and is meant to be read like someone's personal journal not as a routine story. Keep that in mind and you will be drawn in.

This is one of the most (if not THE most) entertaining books I've read. I was hooked from the beginning and could not put it down. I swear to you all that there was not a single boring page in the entire book. It flowed excellently. You get to experience the horror first hand through the main characters perspective in this first person diary thriller. Violence, horror, fear, and a bit of comic relief at some points. Definitely a must read. This book definitely has my standards high for future zombie books that I read.
Right now I'm reading World War Z and sadly I'm not enjoying it nearly as much as I did this one. I will definitely be buying the sequel. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-06-21 01:04:37 EST)

Where Kim Paffenroth's recent release Dying to Live was to be considered the philosopher's guide to existence after a zombie invasion, J. L. Bourne's novel Day by Day Armageddon is everyday man's field guide to survival. With the gritty, no-nonsense voice of a young Naval officer, Bourne details the evolution of an outbreak of a virus that spreads rapidly from China to America, turning everyone in its path into hordes of mindless, hungry undead. Trapped in his home in San Antonio, Texas the man begins keeping a daily diary of his experiences, detailing in dreary, realistic terms the progression of the downfall of the United States. After making allies with another survivor a few houses away, an engineer by the name of John, they flee the city only hours before the U.S. government is to drop nuclear warheads on all major national cities, including San Antonio. Day after day, with his sanity wearing thin and rations running low, the men continue what seems to be a hopeless struggle for survival in a world overrun with flesh-eating zombies. [...]

Not a bad book as far as zombie literature goes, but not nearly as great as World War Z. The main character decides to start a daily journal, and quickly notes a virus sweeping China. Well, you know what happens next. In a few weeks the world is populated by flesh eating zombies. What I didn't buy was the part of the main character keeping a journal, especially when he was on the run. On some days, he has pages and pages of what happened during that day, in great detail. Personally, if I was being chased by flesh eating zombies, I don't think I would have the time, energy or inclination to write entries in a daily journal each day, in long hand. But if you can get past that, the book isn't all that bad. I would usually read it before bed to help put me to sleep.

this is really good but a very GUY book. The guy lives ready for a zed invasion. I mean who lives like that? It would be more intrasting if he were a normal person and had to servive, but he is a trained military guy who is perfectly capable of surviving ZED

I'm trying to catch up on my reviews, so I'll not repeat what many others here have said, only summarize:
Read This Book. The author's choice of how the story is presented (jornal format), plus the 'pure' shambling Zs archtype, combined with a genuinely 'good' storyline and characters that you not only related to, but want to hear more about, makes this book a 'must read' for fans of the genre. (Not) patiently waiting for the next one, J. L. ;) (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-06-02 01:07:24 EST)

I liked this book, the only thing that could of improved it was it ended short.
His look into the zombies made them seem pluasible from the fast movers to the hearing.. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-05-31 01:07:39 EST)

I have a certain amount of respect for anyone who can finish a novel, and, judging from his blog, the author is a nice guy. But to be honest, this book is, well, terrible. I mean, really terrible. Look, it IS a zombie novel, so the standards are low. It's not as bad as, say, the literally unreadable _Monster Island_, but it's certainly not in the same league as _World War Z_. If you are really, really, really, really jonesing for a zombie novel, this might suffice for a beach read. But be forewarned: it's really badly-written, and the plot isn't in any way novel or compelling.

I just finished going through the bad reviews and thought I'd give one of my own. I saw where a lot of people complained about the editing of the book and the grammar errors, I though it added to the authenticity of it being an actual journal and written by someone that didn't know if they would be alive the next day or join the ranks of the walking dead. Who would have time to spell check in that situation and who would really care. I thought that the book was great and can't wait for the next one. Oh, I just remembered to spell check, just in case someone feels the need to pick apart what I had to say.

This book was well written and I enjoyed how it stayed true to classic zombie lore and rules. True, they do add a new trick with the effects of radiation on Zombies, but the book pulls it off well. I would recomend this book to anyone who loves Zombies and all I have to say is where is part 2?

I bought this on a lark and was incredibly suprised! I read it in less than a day and I am usually a real slow reader. My wife, who hates all things horror or Sci-Fi read it in just a few hours - she loved it and even passed it to her g/f's who only like popular books like Harry Potter or Davinci Code and they loved it too. This grabs you, pulls you in and wont let you go.
My only complaint is it is too short - I wanted more, more, more! Cant wait for the follow up and hopefully, the movie. This was more entertaining than most of the zombie movies made recently. Kick butt! (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-05-19 01:08:34 EST)

Ack. Where to start? Small vocabulary hinders this short story. Page after page is predictably chunked out in the same fashion. To further degrade this zombie novel author seems to be living out a personal fantasy rather than hooking the reader with a plot. All this would not be bad if his main character wasn't a wimpy nerd geek that feels uncomfortable when he hasn't shaved for a few days. The main character as well as the minuscule development just does not fit with a person that survives the zombie hordes. Day by Day Armageddon is a less than average try at a novel and should have been a free read on the internet bulletin boards. There are far better zombie novels to spend money on.

I went to the web link published here and read some of the novel before I purchased the work [only about 70-80 pages online]. I then ordered this book and two days later I received it via UPS and a day later I was finished with it! I can't wait for the sequel! I have to find out what happens to the survivors!!!!! Don't leave us hangin'...What a great zombie survival horror book!

If you are an apocalyptic world/Zombie fan this book is for you. Diary format is awesome and technical aspects are accurate (I am a military guy myself). Reading the first 70+ pages on-line hooked me and I had to buy the book. Can't wait for Part II, as the ending of this book leaves no closure only possibilities. Must buy if you loved World War Z.

A Plague of unknown origins is sweeping across the planet. A virus is reanimating the dead and when they rise the only thing they seek is warm human flesh. They hunt their prey tirelessly and without any remorse. All that made them human in life no longer exists in death. They are now nothing more than mindless killing machines. Governments have lost all measure of control and billions are either dead or dying. Civilization is crumbling and it is every man for himself. Come enter this nightmarish world through the journals of an unnamed U.S. Naval officer. Bare witness to his daily struggle for survival in this dark and twisted new landscape ruled by the Dead.
I have said it time and time before, but one more time wont hurt, I am a sucker for a good zombie story. I have also come to expect nothing but the best from Permuted Press releases. They publish the best Zombie Fiction on the market today so when I got my copy of Day By Day Armageddon I was expecting nothing but the best. Once again Permuted Press has come through in a big way. Day by Day Armageddon starts fast and never slows. Mr. Bourne serves up a story full of blood and guts along with nonstop action. I was also very pleased with the character development. Often times zombie stories lack well develop characters focusing solely on the gore and action. Mr Bourne did not make that mistake.. The characters are not wooden in the least and I actually found myself caring about the fate of the protagonist. I have rarely ever had that happen in a zombie story. The story flows smoothly and when I finished I was left feeling satisfied but a little disappointed. The story itself was wonderful, but I wish it had been longer. Maybe Mr. Bourne will give us one day. I will be one of the first to snatch up a copy if he does. I will end by saying that I highly recommend Day by Day Armageddon to all Zombie Fiction fans and fans of Horror Fiction in general. It is one heck of a story that will leave even the most jaded readers feeling satisfied. Permuted Press has published another great story and they have become the premier name in Zombie fiction. The biggest difference between this book and any other in the zombie apocalypse genre is that it's written as the survivor's journal. I could see how if we were being fed these entries daily or every couple of days over a blog, the reader would be at the edge of their seat waiting for an update on the status of our hero and the others that join him. Collected into a book, the suspense is somewhat lost, but it was a page turner nonetheless. The journal feel is carried further by the cover layout and jotted notes and other scribbled effects on some pages.
If you're a zombie fanatic, this book does quite the job of skipping over the typical introductory bits where the main character(s) learn first hand about the nature of what's happening to the populace. There's no first encounter where the protagonist wonders what's wrong with his neighbor. There's no pesky son to rescue across town, no lack of weapons or defenses. Our guy is a military man, a pilot, and his survivalist instincts are fully in place before we read the first entry in his journal. He has solar powered submarine batteries charging in his house, he has a stone wall lined with glass shards around his property. When something fishy begins, he's bought a brick of ammo, stocked up on rations and barred his windows against looters. He's ready for anything and quite able to live on his own. Heck, he conserves ammo and goes McGyver on his first kill, but none of the undead have a name or face. Was this zombie a neighbor? This perfect setup for survival (the character's skills, defenses, supplies and weapons), for the reader, comes off as an exciting test of how a near perfect scenario would go down. This is no unprepared schlep here. Our hero does have a heart underneath all the training and he eventually risks himself to help others and that's when the story gets good. It's a different take, interesting but a little impersonal. The ending is abrupt, so much so that "part one" should have been included in the title. The author has a good understanding of military equipment and the soldier's mindset, that's for certain. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-04-28 03:46:35 EST)

This was a fantastic zombie novel. It's presented in journal format and purports to tell the real story of how this plague went down. The author never discusses the cause of the outbreak, which these characters would never uncover unless they were intimately involved with the cure/creation, etc. This is definitely a pageturner and I highly recommend it.
The only problem I had with the book was that it was, in my opinion, unfinished. The book is relatively short (@ 200 pgs) and it ends abruptly, with the fate of the cast hanging in midair. With a few more chapters added, this could really have been one of the premier zombie novels around. I would love to find out what exactly happened to the main characters. This is why I could only give it 4 stars. There is a preview for a sequel at the end. It's dubious as to whether or not the fate of the original cast will be thoroughly examined, just gleaned over, or completely left out. Unfortunately, this sequel is written just like a regular book, the author ditching the journal format which worked so well for the original. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-04-28 03:46:35 EST)

If you are looking for non stop, credible action with a fine balance between realism and horror, then here is a book that deserves your full attention!
The story told in this book has the reader follow the fate and adventures of a Navy transport pilot that gets caught up -as everybody else- by a China-originating, fast-growing zombie plague. In order to save himself, the `hero' needs escaping from his town. The story unfolds rapidly and, thanks to the hero's skills and the support of other characters encountered during the escape, leads the number of survivors to grow and find shelter in unexpected locations. The format used to tell this tale is a personal diary, with scratches, comments, some B&W pictures and underlined sections of the text. Each diary entry is quite short, fast paced, and very credible. The tone used is the one of a military man: straightforward, no-nonsense, efficient. The whole story is seen from the standpoint of one single person, so don't expect to get any overall view of what's happening in-country or abroad, except in the early sections describing the evolution of the "disease" and through some broken, sporadic conversations on CB or else afterwards. There is no super-hero, just a growing group of survivors whose ties strengthen in time. Danger, insecurity and tension are omnipresent. Any erroneous decision is paid cash through wounds or, worse, death. The story is well documented, references to weapons, tactics or aircraft hardware are spot-on. This alone bestows an unmatched level of realism to the book. Obviously, this book is the opening sequence of a series -hopefully a prolific one!!- and I can't wait to get my hands on the sequels. A must-read for any serious Zombie fan. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-04-25 12:53:14 EST)

"Day by day Armagedon" (DDA) really captures all the fear of being survivors in a zombie-infested world and even when all hope seems lost human ingenuity will still pull through. Not only that - there are elements of family compassion as seen through the only surviving child of one of the families rescued. Romance is hinted at as well where we left off between the main character and a woman that was rescued. This book will keep you at the edge of your seat and guessing at every turn (of the pages). Definitely a good buy - can't wait for the next one! Hope it comes out in Kindle.

Day by Day Armageddon is a great book. It is horrifically chilling and keeps you on edge throughout the whole book. There is action from start to finish. This book is a great start to the series. I myself can't wait for the next one to come out. This is a great read for someone just getting into zombie books, or anyone who has read zombie books before. If you have read Max Brook's "World War Z" then you'll love this book. It's scary to see how an epidemic contained in one country could literally "consume" the world. In this book you see how a survivor and his neighbor battle the hordes of living dead in order to stay alive. This is a great book and I'd recommend it to anyone.

I have to tell you if there is only one book to read on zombies this year this is it, stop looking and buy it. I picked the book up and couldnt put it down. The way the book flows is awesome and I like how it builds each day with no pause in the action. I cant wait for part two and until then I will keep reading Day By Day Armaggedon. The only other thing I can say about this book is it should be made into a movie.

If you want even a *chance* against the zombies, here's your primer.
This is a brilliant read! Thanks to some good editing, you really feel like you're reading "just anybody's" journal. It was so good I made the last 25 pages take 4 days, even though it killed me! Then I loaned it to my brother and read it again as soon as I got it back. I haven't been scared in a long time. This scared me. YAY!! (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-04-04 07:46:47 EST)

I read the first few chapters online and was hooked. I immediately clicked the link at the end of the page and ordered the book. When it arrived I finished it in an hour. It's that entertaining. This book is written as a personal journal that also mimics a "Zombie Survival Guide" in some ways. This would make a great mini-series. You could skip all the boring day to day waiting parts (with commercials) and cut back to the action/drama.
If you like zombie/survival type movies you should like this book. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-04-01 13:30:41 EST)

Overall I found this book to be probably one of the best zombie survival books out there in that the journal keeps you hooked wondering what will happen to him tomorrow and so forth.
I guess my only objection is the amount of luck this character seems to have. Now the character may not feel that way from a readers perspective his life is overly blessed. Just as the events happen he already has a pretty sustainable house, then manages to move onto a new defendable location within easy raiding distance to food and finally finds the holy grail of holdouts of sorts. The writer does a bang up job trying to minimize the gifts that the characters find by showing some of the negatives but I would like to see how a similar story would work out from the perspective of the average American. Still, a darn fine addition to the zombie world of writing and as soon as the next becomes available I plan on picking it up to see where the cast goes next. I ordered this book blind hoping for a surprise...and surprised I was. I sat down and read this book cover to cover in one sitting. Very well written and well paced. I wouldn't put it down until it was spent. I can't wait for the sequel.

I really enjoyed this book and could not put it down.
The first person perspective works and keeps your interest. I look forward to the sequel. I give it four stars as I reserve 5 stars only for a masterpiece. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-04-01 13:30:41 EST)

I cant wait for the sequel. Im a slow reader and had this done in 2 sittings. Its highly addictive and the narration was well done. Other books of the genre, (WWZ), try this style with little success. Its a book I will definitely keep on my shelf for future readings. Each page keeps you wanting to find out more. I can see this becoming an enticing film adaptation.

This book was very interesting and entertaining, as it is written as a journal. I am a huge fan of the zombie genre and I would suggest this book to all of the other fans out there who have not read this yet. I cant wait for the sequel to come. This book follows the "Rules of Romero" so the zombies in it are the ones we have come to love and hate, the slow, shambling, flesh eating ghouls that make for very suspenseful moments. This is a must read!

Day by Day Armageddon is not a very good book. The main character is a two dimensional non-entity and the secondary characters are at best semi-mobile cardboard cut-outs. The story plods along minus even a hint of direction for its entirety, despite its stunning lack of length (which could be considered a triumph, I suppose...) and then it just ends suddenly (run out of journal paper?...) with the somewhat threatening promise of more to come. Clichés, technical errors and continuity flubs abound and the home preparedness of the narrator walks that thin line between ridiculously overly coincidental and borderline psychotic or maybe I should say psychic since the man just happened to be so incredibly prepared for the onset of a zombie apocalypse... Screw tension, huh?
But all that is neither here nor there, because none of it should really be all that surprising. Why? Because at its core, Day by Day Armageddon is nothing but a silly little zombie adventure story, more lazy, adolescent power fantasy than tall tale and no one actively searching out a title like this should expect any better. You can't fault it for its lack of imagination, style or ability, this isn't supposed to be a Pulitzer winner here, folks, so a little leeway should be given going in. Unfortunately, though, the real problem can't be ignored and that is the book's asinine choice of narrative style. To me, the "personal journal" approach is the "Blair witch" of literature. It is a style that never really works, mostly because it is fraught with a myriad of inherent problems. The main one being that no matter what, at some point, the audience can't help but ask: "Why the hell are they still filming?" or in this case: "Why the hell is he still keeping a journal?" It makes no sense after a certain point given the situation. It is destined to fail eventually because the reality of it is, that if the world fell before the crush of the Dead and the stuff in the book was really happening to the guy, then after awhile he'd be too busy surviving to write in some stupid little girl journal! I know, I know, its just a story, but that's my point, if it was told in a different style... poof! That problem vanishes. The narrative style is a detriment to the story's believability. Now, the apologists out there will tell you that this is because the main character wants the World to know his story or some stupid crap like that... fine, whatever, it's a dumb excuse, but its an excuse and in the end, to argue it is to fall into a quagmire of trivial quibbles. Of course, the apologists will classify every complaint as an unimportant quibble. God forbid you mention the typos. "Oh, that's because its a journal," the apologist will say. Is that so? Well, if that's true, if the writing and the book itself is in fact a physical manifestation of the tale, then why is it typed? Why isn't it then presented in a scrawled hand written style? To that they will of course answer: "Because then it would be too hard to read! Duh!" Well, sorry, kids, but that's a no go. Its too bad, but you can't have it both ways. If you're going to commit to a style, then commit to it, there's no half efforts allowed... which is what this book is: A disappointing half-effort. The "journal style" is nothing more than a gimmick and it's a neutering one at that, its constraining rules ensure that the characters can never appear in the book as real people. As a result, it comes off like it was meant as nothing more than a convenient defensive shield should someone question the authors ability or the "somewhat" transparent plot line. And maybe that's actually why he choose this style, I don't know. I certainly can not think of a viable reason to use this otherwise terrible narrative point of view. It is nothing except limiting story-wise. I mean, come on, isn't the author, the audience and the story naturally better served when we get to spend some good old fashioned character building time with the characters? Or maybe an internal moment or two or just a few... I don't know... conversations, so we could feel like we're actually taking part in a story instead of the poorly written and fanciful blog of a lonely teenager? Did he ever even talk to one of the female characters or were those feeling a little too ooky for his little diary? I hate to burst your bubble, people, but the typos and mistakes are not there because the author was actually trying to write as if the character was writing a journal, no, they're just mistakes and annoying ones at that, much like the story itself... My recommendation: Pass. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-03-23 14:46:12 EST)

This is the first journal zombie-themed book I have read and I like it alot. It gets into the story with a minimum of long boring background and set up.
What made it really interesting was that the author used real locations and people which I could relate to. The book moved fast and is a really fast read. I read it in a single afternoon but I was very satisfied and caught up in the story. I look forward to the follow ups that complete this saga. This is the beginning and the early parts of a zombie outbreak so do not expect closure at the end of this story. Very satisfying. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-03-23 14:46:12 EST)

This is one of those rare books that has you thinking about it long after you've put it down. You'll wake up in the middle of the night just to check your living room, jump as your cat scratches in the litter box, and swear you heard moaning coming from the other side of your front door. I've passed this little gem around the office and haven't heard one negative thing about it from the dozen or so people that have read it.
Day by Day Armageddon is just a fun read. Of all the books I've read, this one has to make the top 5. My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough. Fantastic story. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-03-14 03:35:45 EST)

The new trend seems to be long reviews. Some of them are even too long for most newspapers :)
Simply put, this is one of the top three post-apocalyptic books I've read. If you are a fan of military tactics, aviation, Romero style zombies, OR survival books, you'll enjoy this. Even though the zombies are traditional, Bourne created a new and convincing world. If I had to note one thing I didn't like, it was the journal style. It's a believable journal through more than half of the book, but toward the end there's too much written daily (or every couple of days). Most actual journal or diary entries are brief and introspective. In the second half there's too much of a narrative of actual events to be realistic. Even so, it's a fun ride! Day by Day was the second zombie literature I've read besides the Resident Evil series. I felt the author did a wonderful job in creating an unnamed protagonist who readers can relate to. I thought the journal approach to telling the story is a wonderful idea. Overall, the book is very good. The story has "Romero" style zombies: slow, presumably dumb, and only one kill spot. I felt the story approached the subject of zombies very well and realistically. It uses real life places, and it even uses real life people to add to the realism (ex. President Bush, etc). The book definitely will make you think twice about how you would survive in a catastrophic situation - I'm not just saying a zombie outbreak, but an disaster of any kind where it's literally you versus the world. I think any zombie fan should get this book. I must also add that the author is very active with fans of the book. So it's very good to see the author being active with actual fans of the book. Besides Drew Karpyshyn, and SD Perry, I believe J.L. Bourne is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can't wait for the follow up to Day by Day Armageddon. The author made it very clear at the end (as well as on his website) that he's writing a follow up. Hopefully it'll come out sometime in 2008 and it can pick up in popularity. i must say that there have been maybe three books in my life that were as compelling as to keep me reading them without stoppping. this is one of those. i did welcome the format as a journal. definitely different. and while i personally noted discrepancies with some of the technical aspects, this is an outstanding read. well worth the price.

One of the best zombie books in my collection. It was a very fast read, but didn't feel too short. Left me wanting more, which is what any good book should do. Well written, good pacing, great overall feeling of impending doom.
Especially liked the accuracy of the military references. It was a breath of fresh air after finishing another zombie book with some of the cheesiest military dialogue I've ever had to choke down. Looking forward to reading future works! (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-02-24 09:33:33 EST)
