As a 3 & 4 year old Christian Preschool teacher, I absolutely love this little book! What is even better is that my students love it too! :o) I can never get away with reading just one story from this book because the kids always ask for more! I first saw an older version of this book when I was talking with our Kindergarten teacher in her classroom. She told me that she loved it too because it covered some stories that our normal Bible curriculum didn't cover. So, about a two months ago, I purchased one to use in my own classroom. I was so impressed with the reactions of my students in the classroom, that I have decided to give these great little books to all of my students who move up to Kindergarten at the end of the year as a "graduation" gift. It was such a blessing to see the looks on their little faces when received their books. Thank you for having such a wonderful starting point for young hearts who are on their way to a lifetime of serving our Lord and Savior.

My kids - ages 5, 7 & 9 - devoured this book. They each read it cover to cover in the first few days. Its been 6 months since I bought it for them, and they are still reading it.

As a pastor, I was very interested in finding a bible that was developmentally appropriate, had good artwork, and held my 1 year olds attention. Each story is 4-6 pages (just right for this age). There are not too many words on each page, and the pictures are well done and interesting. I bought a bunch to hand out for dedications because this is a Bible that parents can actually look forward to reading to their babies.

This a very good bible story book for the little ones. My 1 1/2 year old grandaughter sees it on our bookshelf and knows that it is hers.
She goes right to it, takes it down and hands it ot me to read from.

I looked at several beginner bible books for my little girl who wished to know more but was having difficulty understanding the stories from the bible. This book is the perfect beginner's bible. The stories are short with colorful pictures. She loves it so much we are starting the book again for the second time! My 4 year old loved this book. At this point she is so insanely in love with god and this book has helped her to understand god's teachings in a preschool way. It has cute little illustrations and short stories that go fittingly with gods teachings.

This beginner bible is appropriate for very young children. It is not too wordy and has great colorful pictures so the child can follow along. Great as a gift for baptism or baby showers or birthdays. I highly recommend it.

I am a child therapist and I gave this book to a child client of mine and he reported that it was so good that "I just read it over and over again." I ordered 6 more for my grandchildren for Christmas this year. We found that this was a very nice Bible to give to our 2 year olds for their first Bible.

We consider this to be a Milestone in a 2 year old's life, their very own Bible given to them by their church.

I have a childcare business in my home and the children love this book, the illustrations are great. Each page there is not to many words. The stories don't go into too much detail that they would not understand as a child. The stories are short great for toddlers and preschoolers.

My wife bought this bible, the DeVries version, for our daughter a year or so ago, and it's been a common bedtime-reading resource. For our now-first-grade daughter, it's been a great source of basic bible-story information and a good basic tool for her reading development: we often read the content together, alternating lines or stories, and her sight reading and phonetic deconstruction both have moved ahead with great strides. On the content front, although she's the youngest in the early-elementary class at Sunday school, she's typically among the best informed, including concerning minutiae such as the details of David's early years, his friendship with Jonathan, and the decline and eventual demise of King Saul.

So whether it's better or worse than its predecessor, I can't say, but this is pretty good for a first bible, and my daughter loves it, which counts for a lot to me.

I am a minister in a small church in a socially disadvantaged area, with poor literacy. The Beginners Bible has been a great source of illustrations for telling the Bible stories to children in my church. The cartoon type pictures appeal to kids more than more realistic ones and the text is well adapted to thoughts that children can cope with.

My daughter is three years old and looks forward to reading a bible story at bedtime. The illustrations help guide the story along and are quite colorful. It is recommended.

We have had several books of Bible stores for our children (2 1/2 and 4 1/2). We recently chose this Bible to move our older daughter onto a new Bible with more stories. It has turned out that this is the Bible that both choose every evening. We have "tag team" with picking stores to read and it is wonderful to see them choosing their favorites AND new ones. The illustrations are wonderful and the stories are paraphrased well to help teach God's word.

My grand-daughter loves this book & so do I! I'm using this bible for our Children's Church & they listen attentively. They love the illustrations & they look forward to hearing the stories every Sunday.

I had the original copy when I was younger so I bought this for my child. I love the illustrations. My son is in 1st grade and he loves to read a story (or two) each night. I was supprised how many stories it had in it and how it basically goes through the entire Bible- Old and New Testament. It really shows the love of God. Highly recommended.

I researched a LOT of (children's) Bibles before buying this one - and I can tell you this one is simply the best. The illustrations are outstanding and the associated text with each picture is very pleasant to read to our five year old every night.

This Bible has been the perfect teaching tool for my child. The illustrations are vibrant and engaging, the text is appropriate for young readers, and the division of stories comes at the right spacing for brief attention spans. This is not a literal, word-per-word excerpt from the Bible, but rather a paraphrasing into not only vocabulary but tone that is just right for children. I have begun to purchase this and give it out to friends with new babies, in hopes that their kids will grow up with this text too. A great version of the Bible.

I really enjoy reading this bible to my kids. My daughter, who is in first grade, says that it is her favorite book. The stories are not too simplistic for her age, but not too difficult either. They chose great stories. We own the older version and just recently bought the new version for a friend. We peeked through it and liked the new illustrations so much that I am considering buying this one as well!

Many Bible stories have serious and often brutal content --- floods, rains of fire, disfiguring disease, sacrifice, mauling by lions, and human torture. Remembering fearful thoughts in my own childhood after hearing these stories and seeing pictures in a family Bible storybook, I really searched for a way to introduce my grandson to a loving God. This simple little book is colorful, accurate, entertaining and has more emphasis on the wonder and miracles of God than the evil in the world. There is plenty of time for my grandson to learn about that! Highly recommended for the pre-schooler and early reader.

What a wonderful book for grades Pre-K through 4. My children can't wait until it is their turn to read a chapter out loud. The stories relate to what is learned in church school, as well as what is told at Mass on Sunday. I highly recommend one for each child in the family, and then save them as they get older for your children's children. Great colorful illustrations and nice size print.

I bought this as a baptism gift for my nephew, and I was SO happy to find it. The stories are simple, but still comprehensive and interesting, and the pictures are really compelling. I looked at a lot of illustrated bibles for children, and this was the only one I found with multicultural drawings, which was really important to me. I didn't want to buy my nephew a book that depicted all of God's children as blonde, blue-eyed Caucasians. This bible has great stories AND great pictures and I absolutely recommend it.

This is such a nice Bible - the illustrations are just beautiful and very well done. My only complaint is that some of the stories leave you hanging the way they're written and don't really go into a little more explanation like they should. Other than that, we just love this Bible. My little one really liked the "snake" story, as he calls it, meaning Adam and Eve. Makes for a very long explanation, however, when they ask about who the snake really is and why Adam and Eve got kicked out of the Garden of Eden. Then, tie all that into why Jesus came and you've got an all night discussion! Pretty neat stuff too - if your little one enjoys figuring out where Jesus is in all the stories, point out that He's always the one in purple, the color of royalty. The crucifixion story is very well done and not made to be all that scary. Just be ready for tons of questions throughout this whole book. Highly recommend!

I got this Bible when I was 2 years old. I loved looking at the pictures- and they are very bright and colorful. This Bible first gave me the idea that there was a book about God. When I was a little bit older, It told me that Bible stories were interesting, and not boring and glum like I thought it would be after I looked at my dad's Bible with a black cover. After all, you can't judge a book by it's cover! Now I am 10 years old, and although I have a full text NIV Bible, I still love to look at this bible. I actually have 2 copies of it, because when I was 4 I begged my Mom to get me another copy of this Bible. I am extremely fond of reading, and I still remember the day I read it all by myself, When I was 5. Wasn't I proud! It's very understandable and in clear, big, print. I still treasure it very much, and I absolutely recommend this Bible to you.
