Ask and It is Given is one of the clearest, strongest most concise books I've ever read. It shows me how to plug into the Power of the Universe and be aware and in tune with the Law of Attraction and Source. I think everyone could benefit from reading this book.

This book is essential for anyone wanting more happiness and greater peace. Since practicing the Art of Allowing, I have transformed my entire life into something I love and am eager to live. I found the information in this book to be intuitive. It just feels right. There is relief on every page and the exercises in the back are invaluable, making it the best book to start you on your journey to Allowing all you desire to manifest in your life. Great help for parenting too!

Whether you are able to buy into where the information comes from or not, you need to read and re-read this book. The philosophy is absolutely amazing, and works if you apply it in your life. Take the time to read the entire book, give it a chance, and I think you will be simply amazed and delighted, for your life will change!

This is yet another book that professes to know the way to riches. Good news! it's easy, I mean it is REALLY easy. Basically; think positive, visualize the 'things' you want, get your vibration all lined up and you're done.

Then add some selfishness, which is important and the more the better! In case you think that the world may need people who actually have empathy and compassion, they cover that one. Simply believe that all those poor sots suffering and disabled choose their lot in life. Got it? OK, let's focus back to feeling good!!!

This manifesting of success DOES WORK - it works for the people who convince people that it works.

Their law of attraction is true-ish. First, it's not a law. Second it is a small piece of the whole. It's like believing that eating vegetables is the way to health, which is correct, but so are many things IN CONJUNCTION. With this book, it's just vegetables or just LOA and that's all.

Shallow with tunnel vision and a desperate need to believe that things will be easy? Then this is the book for you!

Loved the authors approach explaining the Law of Attraction aand the examples and exercises in the back of the book.. To reinforce and more information and even simpler exercises with a journal I recommend Living The Secret Everyday: My Secret Workbook

For those of you who don't get the significance of the connection between Amway and Abraham I would urge you to do some honest, open-minded research and come to your own conclusions. For a time I believed that "Abraham" was the real deal. I bought their books, CD's and DVDs. I attended one of their workshops. But after discovering contradictions in the material I began to ask questions. After having done my own research I have come to believe that "Abraham" is nothing more than the re-packaged, spiritually-dramatized version of the Amway motivational seminars that Jerry Hicks gave in the 1970's and 1980's. Yes, it is wonderful, positive material that is lovingly, wittily delivered. It makes people feel good. And if that's all you need - I highly recommend it. But I, for one, need more than that.

As a literary work I give this book 2 stars. It's super repetitive. So repetitive that while listening to the audio version I thought my Ipod was broken and skipping at one point! If I had read the book rather than listening to it while i did other things I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it, or even finished it.

The information contained in this book, however, is fabulous! 5 stars!

The reason why I give it 5 stars is that Esther and Jerry hicks are the first people that I know of that recognize when you are in a low place emotionally you need to take baby steps towards feeling better first in order to accomplish what you want. You can make those steps very quickly in the end, but you can't get from one point to the other without experiencing the middle. If what you want is too far away from where you are you won't have it right now, or even tommorow, but if you make the shift to the next level closer your goal will be closer to you.

This is a very practical point that most self help and self improvement books miss out on entirely, and in my opinion why they don't work for most people. If what you want it seems too far away, you won't allow yourself to have it!

Whether you believe in the Law Of Attraction or not, whether you believe in Abraham or not, you can gain something from this book. I'm still not sure if I believe in these things, but it doesn't matter right now. I don't really believe in magic, I don't know that I will ever "manifest" anything!

The point is that while the information is presented in a way that seems way out of left field and new-age to most people, it is actually very practical and common sense. The creative visualization practices presented in "The Processes" will work for you if you approach them with an open mind and a goal of just feeling better.

So my advice, if you are interested in these ideas, than listen to the audio while you do your busy work. It definitely won't hurt. If you combine it with more action oriented information ("Think and grow rich") you will have a winning combination to achieve whatever you want in life.

Never have I read a work with so much repetition. It's as if the goal of the first 21 chapters was to see how many different ways one could phrase the same thought.

Chapter 22 offered a fresh perspective that I have not encountered elsewhere.

To be fair to the work, perhaps my experience would have been better had I not read "The Secret" and "A New Earth" prior to reading this one.

I fully embrace the power of positive manifestation. And there are wonderful books on the subject. I don't feel this one of the best, but I am pleased for all the readers who have been inspired by Abraham's message.

Jerry rushes through the message with no attempt to connect with the listener. We hear him "reading" the words without "feeling" them, so his delivery lacks passion and conviction. But when Abraham speaks thru Esther, words come to life, spirit "plays" with the audience, involves us, wraps its arms around us, even scolds us lovingly, and we welcome the Living Word into our hearts. This goes into so much depth on the Law of Attraction and gives it to you in a basic 3-simple step approach....easy to follow easy to read. Unlike The Secret, it gives you exercises called processes to follow-up and reinforce the principles. Similar and also a great book that continues where The Secret left off is Living The Secret Everyday: My Secret Workbookalso giving you even different recipes (exercises) to follow and transform your life. Read both and you will learn from both.

This book is crammed with around the kitchen zink self-made psycho-spiritual mind babble. It does not even properly explain the concept of vibration that is being used to create the "manifest your desires effect". How can anyone with no proper psychological traning/understanding establish themselves as bestselling authors by forwarding messages from a spiritual entity they cannot even transcribe properly. This is yet another horrific example of how self-established New Age authors turn themselves into authorities with big pockets by tricking readers into buying yet another volume of their over the counter make yourself happy products. If you trust your own life experience and use your discernment - you could leave this bookstore and keep your dollars.

This review is from someone who reads, enjoys and believes in inspirational books. I bought this book per recommendation. What an unbelievable piece of [...]! Even thoroughly disappointed by the first chapters, I kept reading, hoping that good practical content would come later. It did not. The book is just full of empty buzz, totally basic common sense at best, cheap and obnoxious evangelist-style preaching about nothing and brain-washing at worst. Absolutely horrible and disappointing! The style really reminded me of the cheesy multi-level-marketing presentations and other [...]. Zero magic, no good content whatsoever. The book was so bad that it made me not want to read self-help books anymore.

Excellent book re: Law of Attraction. Important tips for achieving focus, deliberate creating, and allowing

This book is the best book I have read in years. It arrived at the right moment in my life. I was going around in a circle not knowing where to go or what to do anymore. After reading this book, I began to focus my energy in the things that I wanted instead of the miserable things that I continued to have no matter how hard I tried to push away. I am not finished with the book. I am devoring it slowly, very slowly to absorb it into my system. I know it works because one of the things that I wanted came through a week after I began reading the book. I know this book will transform my life and I will finally find what I have always wanted. I am recommending this book to all my friends and acquaintances. Thank you Esther and Jerry for the wonderful job of hope and encouragement you have done.

Before I purchased "Ask and it is given" I was looking forward to an in depth study on the Law of Attraction. This book was recommended as a great starting point. Much to my disappointment, I failed to realize that the book was supposedly written from beyond grave or from the Ether. I say Kudos to Jerry and Esther Hicks for manifesting a cash cow called Abraham. Esther's performances in character as "Abraham" starts out fascinating until she starts to break character and starts to talk like the incarnated Esther again.

Am I supposed to believe Esther and Jerry's version of LoA simply because a supposed "channeled spirit" told me? And they go so far as to say that the spiritual collective (sounds like the Borg from Star Trek) actually wrote this book through Esther's hands at the keyboards. I feel Jerry is actually the "Wizard" behind the curtain. Jerry openly admits that before he got into spirituality, he was into "Think and Grow Rich". I think Jerry did some excellent thinking. He knew the original teachings of the Law of Attraction and taught them to Esther. Esther has an uncanny ability to quote writings verbatim.

Since I've started investing in books and resources on the Law of attraction, I've discovered that everybody has a "me-too" piggy back version of the "secret". Usually it's called the "Missing Secret" (aka why the secret is not working for you) There's thousands of dollars that can be spent on these back up books.

But all you need is the material that inspired all of the above.

2. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill

Both were written in the early 1900's. Both explain the what and why behind the Law of Attraction. They give you their formulas based on 2500 case studies and give you analysis as to why one group failed and others succeeded. What is more fascinating than "Abraham" is that these two books are as accurate today as they were in the early 1900's. They teach the "secret" from the mouths of Thomas Edison, Charles Schwab,J.P.Morgan and a multitude of America's wealth pioneers.

I say don't waste your money on the abracadabra or hocus pocus. Don't spend your money on the cruise lectures. Do yourself a favor; buy the original teachings of Hill and Wattles and THEN branch out into the after market teachings of people like Joe Vitale or Carnelian Sage. And if you still want to purchase "Ask and it is given", you'll be better prepared to discern the fact from fantasy.

I enjoyed this book thoroughly from the beginning showing us how to Ask and it is given and our only problem is the art of allowing. This theme is reinforced throughout the book with examples of how it works with The Law of Attraction. At the end of the book, the authors give you processes showing you how to follow these principles. Another book with the same theme I enjoyed is called Living The Secret Everyday: My Secret Workbook also with an overview of The Law of Attraction, giving exercises and charts in a workbook format and a journal to keep track of your thoughts. Make sure you read both.

If you like drivel you will love this!

A friend of mine who I consider to be quite intelligent suggested that there might be help for my battle with Myofascial Pain disease in this book.

He did in fact credit his recovery from luekemia to his having read the book.

If you believe in Disney Type fantasy or Harry Potter or other fantasy then this will work for you.

It certainly works for the authors as the royalties roll in.

I made the mistake of buying the tapes too. They can be torture for a realist to try to listen to!

Ask and It Is Given is a truly awesome and wonderful book that a real eye-opener! Great book to start connecting with you Higher Self. And the rest is Joy!

I used to think that Law of Attraction was just some New Age philosophy. Not any more. I have used the strategies in this book to become a happier, more successful person.

If you really want to learn about the Law of Attraction, read the Bible. That's where all of this "new thought" approach comes from. If the Bible's language is too archaic for you, read any of Catherine Ponder's books. If you insist on this one, however, don't buy the CD; buy the book instead. Jerry Hicks' voice is grating and lacks emotion or animation. I couldn't even make it through the first CD so I gave it to a friend who agrees that his voice is beyond irritating.

The Abraham-Hicks books are my favorite books. While there are lots of books written on this subject, the Abraham-Hicks books teach you how to apply the concept of the law of attraction. The books are well written and are very applicable to real life. I would encourage you to try one of the books, but study it, rather than read it. Then try some of the processes described in the book. To get the most out the ideas in the books, you need to read them all - I have.

Before The Secret, there was Ask and It Is Given. Someone gave this book to me at a time in my life when I was suffering from a serious illness. It reminded me that regardless of what is happening in my life, I can always connect with my innermost desires and trust the universe to work for me. I really had a hard time getting past the first part of Abraham. Where the spirituality was concerned, but after praying for some guidance and understanding, I realized that the book is (in my opinion at least) just mind games, and it plays on the weak minded people. So from an open minded point-of-view, it is a good book, but for anyone who wants to read this book, please read your bible along with it. I think we all can say that prayer and trusting in God to set the stage in life and where you are in life is the answer. I mean yes things happen for a reason. I mean I want the desire to have a new car ONE DAY but do I go out and steal one just because for a split second I had the desire to have one? I mean do I want to go to jail for a car over a split second desire? Or do I trust God in providing me one, one day? I don't mean to sound all righteous or nothing, I just don't want to get confused on how I get what I want.

I was in Barnes in Noble yesterday looking for another spritual book, the day after i started reading "The Power Of The Subconsious By Joseph Murphy". My spriut was searching for more knowledge on LOA and the source within us. On the book shelf I saw The Secret (in which I have seen already), the master key system(which is just amazing), and Think and Grow rich(another great book by Mr. hill).

There was another book there called "The Code" in which i was intending on buying after i skimmed through the pages. But I just couldn't leave the isle just yet, it was like something was telling me that the reason I was there was not to get The Code. Then i beautiful Blue cover caught my eye spelling the words "Ask and It is Given". To myself I was like i asked for an awesome book on the source and theres a book standing out of all the others basically calling me.

I didn't know anything about Abraham(I do now!!!) at the time, but I knew I had to get it. I didn't have a doubt in my mind that it wasn't a scam book with the same rehashed mess that author's book in today's books that was used almost a centry ago. Since this had been the first time in over 3 years I have been inside a library and all of a sudden am called to drive and book I just went with the hunch.

So far I am loving the book, and have recently downloaded the audio tapes, and learned more about this non physical intelligence called abraham. When am reading the book it feels different from any other book I have read, anyways i recommend this book to everyone.

The material is excellent and the audio book makes it easier to absorb. You can listen to sections over and over again.

What I like about Esther Hick's book is her information comes directly from the group called Abraham not from someone else. Abraham gives step by step instruction on how to make changes in behavior that will give you the results you desire in life. There are also examples why the process does not work for someone and how to make changes so it will. By using the "pivot" technique thought patterns can quickly be changed to bring a person in alignment so they can receive that which they want.

Want a book that wakes you up to how to achieve exactly what you have only visualized in your head? Then look no further, the specific information found in these pages are not for the weary. Those who understand (even the slightest) that there is more to life than just living each day as others dictate, then this is your book.

"Ask and it is Given" is a God send for those who ever asked; "What is my purpose, what am I supposed to be doing?" This book is also for those who understand that to achieve what you desire there is a process and it is no more complicated than believing!

I attended a workshop by Abraham some years ago where I purchased this book. I haven't read it cover to cover, but when I'm feeling the need for a lift, I open it anywhere and a few pages later I feel my mood elevating, and begin to remember that I can direct my thoughts to happier places by choice.

This book was recommended by a friend when she knew I was going through a really bad time. I have enjoyed it so much that I have both purchased additional copies for others and have recommended it to others who have bought it.

I really knew very little about the Abraham-Hicks "movement" (if that's the right word). Regardless, what they offer is very useful, simple, and does have amazing results.

What I especially love about this book are the processes in the back. My favorites are #2 - The Magical Creation Box, #5 - The Prosperity Game (which my husband is doing), #10 - The Placemat Process, and #15 - The Wallet Process. These are very simple actions you can take and the reward is amazing.

If you are like me, and have read seemingly every book on using the Law of Attraction, please read this. For me, the teachings brought everything together and helped me apply it now, to more than 1 aspect of my life - to all at once. The best tool I benefited most from, is the "Emotional Guidance System". I am keeping more positive than ever before, and manifesting better than I ever have. This book shows you how to recognize when you've strayed off-track instantly, and how to get back on. The exercises are fun and positive. I plan on re-reading this book at least twice more. Any book written by Esther and Jerry Hicks is wonderful. I have seen them in person and have listened to the fabulous words spoken by Abraham through Esther. Abraham has quite a sense of humor and is such a joy to listen to. And Esther is the perfect vehicle for Abraham to speak through. If you are interested in the Law of Attraction and how it really works (The Secret is too simplified), then read this book or any book by Esther and Jerry. You will feel incredible and your life will change.

This is a great book for uplifting yourself and processing your own internal conflict, if you are in that mode.

This was an easy fun read, I just wish I could get their techniques to really work in my life. I've honestly tried to no avail.

This is the quintessential book for the Law of Attraction. Contrary to the movie The Secret, Ask and It is Given does not gloss over the hard part of using LOA: remaining positive at all times, working smart on your skill set, and relaxing and having fun whereever you find yourself.

This is an incredible, life changing book. The concepts taught by Abraham are so simple and straight-forward and necessary for us to hear. I found the 22 processes particularly helpful. Regardless of what emotional or vibrational state you start from, these processes can help you move to a place of higher vibrations, closer to manifesting your desires. This book will give you the tools and thought processes to help you deliberately create your desires.

I recommend reading it multiple times to make sure you didn't miss anything!

Ask and it is Given is quite possibly the best Abraham book I have read to date. I have attended lectures, have listened to their CD's and have read several of their books.
This is, in my opinion, the best of their products because the second half of this book gives many practical exercises supporting the success of each reader to more easily manifest for their best and highest good.
I recommend this book to anyone interested in deliberate creation. Please read with an open mind and an open heart.

Based on the Law of Attraction, Ask and it is Given, gives you the tools and guidance to "implement" the teachings and lessons. I have shared this book with many people in my life and they each find that their daily lives have more value and focus. The gifts of life are before each of us. We need to learn how to "ask" and then "receive" the gifts. This book has the roadmap! Great book. I finished the book and immediately started the first chapter again.

This book is well written and presents information that is life changing yet at the same time familiar. The 22 processes that are included as exercises have been instrumental in teaching me how to allow all that is good to flow in my direction. I highly recommend this book to anyone who would like to increase their vibrational attitude, and thus enhance their life. This is a book I have reread every few months and in doing so have found more and more ways to apply these subtle techniques.

There are twenty some exercises in the second section of the book which I will do over time. It is suggested that you work with them in a relaxed manner and in a way that works for you. My favorite exercise so far is on prosperity. The exercise is unique and brings a level of play and increased imagination to the area of financial abundance. This book is very life affirming!

The authors of this book (Abraham) are non-physical beings channeled through the co-writer, Esther Hicks. We will admit that after reading the introductory chapter where this concept is explained, we almost put the book down . We had a MAJOR problem with this concept because it felt very uncomfortable. We pushed passed the uncomfortable feeling and got through the book. We are very pleased to say "WE ARE SO GLAD WE DID!"

This book explains how to use the laws of the universe to achieve any goal. These principles make perfect sense. We can now look back in our lives and clearly understand why we are where we are today. This book explains how we were creating by default, because these principles work whether or not we know about them... like gravity. The best part is that from what we learned from this book, we can now use these universal principles to deliberately create the lives we want for our future. IT REALLY WORKS!

You can start from right where you are. No matter what your life looks like today, you can begin changing for the better. Abraham gives different processes to help you to start moving up the "emotional ladder." Based on how you are feeling right now, you can choose the best process to help you start moving towards your desired goal.

I've read several books by Jerry & Esther Hicks, including 'The Law of Attraction' and 'The Astonishing Power of Emotions'. This one, however, had the most impact on me. I read it in 2 days and have reread a couple of times since. The gist of the message delivered by 'Abraham' is that the best thing we can do is to reach for 'relief'...not try to go from dismally unhappy to ecstatic joy. In fact, the delivery of this information felt so 'right' to me, all other books I'd read prior to this one made even more sense. In other words, this book was the 'mmissing piece of the puzzle'. I can't say enough about the contents. I think it's one of the most valuable books I've ever read and, if you're familiar with 'Abraham' and have heard them speak, you can even hear the humor when you read the words. An invaluable resource for anyone wishing to change the way they live their life. There are even some 'games' to play to enhance your ability to focus on what you really want as opposed to what you're pushing against. Terrific read!

I read a lot of Wayne Dyer books, and this is one of many he made reference to. Whether you buy into the whole idea of chanelling or not, the ideas offered here are very applicable to anyone's life. It just seems to make sense to me....Highly readable, sometimes repetative (in a good way), this is a book that you will sit down and read a portion of every day.
