This is the skinniest little book packed with the most succient information regarding APA - it's FANTASTIC!!!! I have used it from beginning to end throughout all of the paper writing in my Graduate Program and not one Professor has ever sent back event one comment about my paper formatting! Hats off to the authors!

This is a great little book. So many of the other APA book are so expensive, thank goodness this is a reasonably priced little book on APA. To me the MLA style of referencing is so much easier. But, if you have to learn how to reference using the APA format this book is really helpful.

This is an amazing quick reference for APA format writing. It saves tons of time by condensing the full document into a small handbook and it's all I've ever needed for accurate APA format! Highly recommend!

I have both the quick reference guide and the full APA manual, I use the quick reference guide 95% of the time. I could probably get away without using the full manual at all. Must have!

I really thought the book made writing an APA report easier than the other books. It was concise and detailed and gave you a sample report to look at. It was easy to find the answer to the question in one area instead of several places like some of the other books.

This is a great book to have along with the APA book. It is not as overwhelming and it gives you lots of good examples. Step by step directions were very helpful. I would recommend this book.

I have used MLA all of my life but when I took upper level courses, APA was the only style that was to be used. This book was orginaly discoved as a class requirement. I would not be able to do my assignments without it. It is small and compact, which makes it great when riding public transportation or sitting somewhere without a computer and working on homework or a job presentation. Although small and compact it includes alot of information including a sample paper to see how it all ties in. It covers basic information but not the smaller less used information so it may leave a question or two that is more tehnical. It is great to use to learn and get use to APA writting stlye without researching information along with having to have a computer and carry around or print large amounts of information to put together one citation.

It is the basics, as written in the description. If you have Word 2003 it will show you exactly how to set it up. If you have Word 2007, it would not be necessary, as it is already set up on that software.

Seems to be correct and accurate though.

Would recommend for those who don't have Word 2007.

I am in a second degree nursing program and after using MLA for my undergraduate degree, I had to purchase this book because I hadn't previously used APA format. I have to say the book is very small, but very much so "to the point." If you use Microsoft Word, the author actually explains exactly how to set up everything with both the older and the newer 2007 version. In my opinion, this book helped me quickly understand how I needed to format my paper APA style. It was very helpful.

This manual is so easy to use. Everything is in a catagory and there is no need to wade through hundreds of pages. Easy to use, made writing papers much easier.

This is so much easier to follow than my big version on how to write APA. I recommend it highly.

I think if you're in graduate school, you really need this book AND the APA manual. However, this manual is GREAT for helping with the formatting issues, which can be quite time consuming! It gives step-by-step directions for using your word processor to type papers, which the APA manual does not.

This book was recommended by my teacher. As one well versed in MLA format, I found this APA format book very helpful and much needed (plus it was very inexpensive!). Amazon shipped early as always and I have no complaints :)

This by far is the best book available to help students understand APA format it is in CLEAR ENGLISH with examples (thank you). Although the other APA manual is very detailed, APA the Easy Way cuts right to the point. I use many different sources for references and this book answers the how to cite this or that questions quickly.

I showed my professor this book and she was so impressed she said she was going to have to buy this book herself. A few of my class mates bought the other book and are so lost they don't know how to make heads or tails of the manual. This book is the best choice for the price and has easily understandable content.

Easy to use, and helped me get to know the APA writing style. Very readable, short and sweet. Kind of a quick fix, and an excellent addition to the "big" books on official APA format. It helped me immensely with my University of Phoenix classes, especially when some of the professors refused to help students find things they couldn't locate in the big books. This is a small book but contains all information about APA formatting. Handy when enrolled in a college program.

This book is very simple to read and understand. It is not overwhelming, unlike other APA books. I really like it because it's easy to follow.

You still need to buy the full version of APA however this was great as a quick reference. I would definitly buy both!

This guide is handy to use as a quick reference for APA formatting. Some basic knowledge of APA formatting is required though; this guide mostly contains examples.

I was a little disappointed in this manual, not so much with the content, but with the "prose" way in which it is organized. One good thing about this book is the large font size, however, which makes it easy to use as a desk reference while you are writing a research paper. But after looking through this book for examples, I still ended up going back to my tried-and-true "Pocket Guide to APA Style" by Robert Perrin - the most user-friendly, easy-to-read abbreviated APA guide I have ever seen.

This little book is concise and accurate and very user-friendly. I was able to easily locate the info I needed to cite my paper. The book is based on 5th edition APA rules, which are the most up to date.

Needed this for school, was used to writting in the MLA format so APA was foreign to me. This was helpful and made things simpler.

I had a term paper due at the last minute that had to be in APA style, which I have never used before. This little book is a good condensation of the larger APA Reference Manual. It had all the information I needed to get my term paper in the correct format without too much hassle; it was pretty much step-by-step which I needed (not being a PC guru either). My only complaint is that it only had one major example, but it did help immensely.

This book costs only a little more than 10 dollars, but it is a great help to cut down your time formatting your writtings of the Microsoft Word into the APA style. It actually guides you how to format in the APA style step by step and shows you a useful example at the end. Definitely, this book is a must-have, especially for those of you who are not familiar with the Microsoft Word as well as the APA style. Only thing that I wish book authors would include in this excellent book is how to format tables in the APA style.

GREAT RESOURCE! I am a graduate student and not planning to go on to to extensive research, thus decided not to commit hours to studying the giant manual for APA. Instead I bought this book per other's good reviews.

It has been a fantastic resource for APA style, citations, and reference guidelines. Extremely easy to use and nice and small to slip right into your backpack with the other books! The only thing its missing are tabs to make it even quicker to use...so I added my own tabs.

This book only tells you how to cite using APA style, not write. APA style is much more than just referencing. I bought this book hoping for a concise outline of important APA formatting features such as when to use numerals or to write out a number in words, whether bulleted lists are acceptable, etc. Oh well, probably serves me right for trying to avoid the actual APA manual...

Love this book. Only thing I would like to see is more reference citing examples...otherwise perfect for a quick reference. I'm working on my master's and they are sticklers on the APA style and I really hadn't used it since high school!

If you just want to satisfy your curiosity and get a flavor of what the APA is, then this book is for you, but if your are working on a term paper, for example and need a guide to proper citing of your sources then get something more complete. This book for example totally leaves out things like citing of images, charts and numerical data.

This book was a great asset when I was writing my pyshology paper. The sample is clear and very understandable. The book leaves nothing out.

APA: The Easy Way!
This book I purchased along with APA Pocket Handbook. But this book has a different purpose. This is the book to use to set up your computer to write in APA Format (If you use word). This book told me exactly which keys to click, choices to select, buttons to push, the whole nine yards. Then once my computer was set up for APA, I started writing my paper. No matter how many times I stopped and did something else, the minute I opened back up my paper document, the computer shifted in APA format. I didn't have to reset anything. For someone who grew up using a typewriter, this is heaven. So, I suggest purchasing both books. One so you know how to type the paper and one to set up the computer. Makes writing a paper so much easier,especially for someone used to using MLA.

When writting in APA style, there's no substitute for the real thing. Buy the APA Publication Manual, read it, use it, and don't bother spending money on guides or shortcuts. They don't work.
