I unfortunately have to be the first to make some negative comments about the book. i was surprised when Sara listed in her schedule that she watched TV from 7:00 on during the week, yet taking out the trash was too momentous a task to take on everyweek, as well as keeping up the house. I was fine with all that (although as a mom of two with a husband deployed for a year I have to admit I thought she was being a little wimpy, sorry) But what really got me was when she said she would get a maid the next time around. Are you kidding me?

A fun read, but I think a lot of people who go through REAL struggles during a deployment (beyond a webcam malfunction and having to go into the attic) or who have to deal with children during a deployment will find it laughable.

I think a lot of Sara's situations she was getting stressed out overare a result of her having a bit TOO MUCH time on her hands. Going to the post office to send your husband items he needs to survive his deployment should not annoy you and trigger "but what about me" response as it did.

As I read this book, I found that virtually every chapter of this book described the way I felt on my husband's two deployments to Iraq. Sara hits the nail on the head with her book and shows readers the incredibly frustrating and lonely side of deployment from the spouse's view. Unlike many books about this subject, Sara does not sugar coat her life in that year, she talks about her life straight from the heart and shows how it is possible to survive a year of seperation without going insane. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has experienced or is facing the deployment of a spouse.

When i seen the cover and title of this book it was one i needed to look at. I then knew it was a must read, so i got it right then! I have to say that it was well worth it in so many ways! I had it read in two nights! I am a wife of a National Guardsman, and find it hard to find books that really have the feelings that i do having my husband gone fighting for his Country.
Sara put the true feelings to light in so many ways with out holding back at all. She let it be known that it's okay to feel like you do when it comes to the mixed feelings of having your spouse come home. So if you are a Military wife in any way or want to know how a wife feels this is the book for you!!!
