Aside from the contracts themselves, the author provides you with a negotiating checklist for each contract to help you edit the documents to meet your personal job needs. It also helps prepare you for presenting the contract to your customer. Lots of helpful tips as well.

One type of contract that I found missing is a release that allows a client to print and display the photos without totally transferring the copyright over. I like to keep my own rights to my work, while allowing clients to use them as well.

The index could be easier to use. I tend to have to hunt for some types of contracts. Still, this book is a resource that is well worth it's price.

Good form letters and documents for any photographer. A CD is supplied with a soft copy of the forms. All forms are customizable so an established photographer can cut and paste specific wording for their own documents.

I bought this book and its utter waste of paper and money. There are much better forms available for free to be downloaded from the internet. This book is completely useless for anyone who lives outside USA. I think Americans are smart enough to google the kind of forms they are looking for.

this book is a must if you are a photographer starting a business. the book includes dozens of contracts for most photographic jobs, with a detailed description of each, including the meanings of each section of a contract. the included CD gives you a digital form for each contract, in several file formats, including MS Word and Adobe Acrobat.

This should come in handy for my neice who is getting into photography big time.

This book is excellent. It's written in a way that makes it easy for us "common folks" to understand and also to explain to our clients. The information offered is extremely valuable, full of legal insight and advice for constructing your own contracts, and the sample forms are fully explained and are very easy to alter for a business' specific needs.

I also recommend "Wedding and Portrait Photographers' Legal Handbook by Norman Phillips and Christopher S. Nudo, Esq."

As a professional photographer in the works, this is a great asset to get started with. Not only does it give you the contracts and forms you will need, it also explains them for you. This is a great tool for those who are just getting into the business side of photography.

This is an excellent book that should be on any working photographer's shelf. I bought this book to help me wright the contract for my first paying job as a professional photographer. I was able to use the form as a guideline to create a formal letter to be signed by both parties and serve as a contract. The author explained each section of the form, what it meant, and why it was there. Based on that information I was able to decide what I needed in my letter and what wasn't needed. The only complaint I have is that the author suggests "If an assignment will be very lengthy, perhaps requiring a number of sessions over a period of months, a schedule of payments should be used" but he fails to demonstrate how to write that. Still a most excellent book.

This is a perfect book for photographers, with sample forms, explanations as to how and when they would be used, and a CD with the same forms that can be customized. Very very useful, and excellent purchase.

This book has all the forms you will possibly need for photography. It has some younever thought of that you would need. I haven'thad to opportunity to use them yet, but I will and I will really apprecite the book then! I reccommend this book highly.

Tad Crawford has written a whole series of books out of his expertise in the law and creative arts, with a special focus on photography. I'd suggest looking at Tad's other books, too, since this one is more action-focused without extensive explanations of the whys and wherefores of it.

Appears to cover all the bases, including contracts, legal assistance, and many more forms than I ever imagined I might need. Very informative.

I didn't originally buy this book to "read". I bought it for the invaluable resources inside - the wealth of forms that any photographer needs to protect their work and their business. What makes this book so enticing is you don't have to photocopy, or redesign any of the forms since they're all included on a CD that comes with the book. That being said, I should mention that I was quite surprised at the thorough explanation for each form, and the situations where each form might be needed contained in the book. A person could undoubtedly pay hundreds (probably thousands) in legal fees assembling the information in this book on their own. This book is a photographer's "legal-resource-in-a-book". I highly recommend it.
