This is a very convenient book to have for easy reference to the conjugations of verbs in Spanish. It doesn't do anything more, but it also doesn't do anything less. I love it!

This was one of the best books I have ever purchased when learning Spanish. It was such a great help for my language learning and I carried it around with me everywhere when I lived in the Dominican Republic. The item got here quickly and in great condition.

I am currently in intermediate Spanish 1 and i have used this book almost every day since i received it. It's not only a good reference for looking up verbs but a tool to learn about the different Spanish tenses. There is a section in the beginning that lays out what every tense should be used for and how to form them. I like the book a lot, it is well worth the fourteen dollars i paid for it.

I'm an adult taking Spanish for fun and travel. This book is dependable for conjugations. I've seen websites that are incorrect when they conjugate verbs! The CD just seems ok as a learning tool. I would've given it a 5 star rating except the CD doesn't live up to expectations.

I love this book!!!!!!!!!! It really helps me keep all the verb tenses and spelling changes straight. It is a godsend whenever I am dealing with an irregular verb. I also like that it has a ton of other common verbs in the back. Even thou they aren't conjugated, it is still helpful to see what verb they resemble and what they mean. This book is a great reference for anyone studying spanish. It lays out the verbs and their conjugations clearly and systematically without any extra filler. Barron's 501 Spanish Verbs is filled with 501, fully conjugated verbs. But, it's also got a great explanation of the simple and compund tenses, a review of basic grammatical terms, and a nice glossary in the back. I worked through the explanations, did the review exercises, and became much more confident with my Spanish. I have to agree with others who say this book is great for students and teachers of Spanish. The book gives Spanish teachers all sorts of tricks for teaching some dreaded conjugations- all 7 compound tenses!!!! This book is definitely worth the $.

This book is a wonderful reference. I am a student of Spanish, and this book is a great help. Only 501 verbs are conjugated, and occasionally I am unable to find a verb that I may seek. Still, it's a wonderful reference....

I stumbled on a copy of this book down in Peru last summer. It is really helpful for the beginner to intermediate Spanish speaker as it has every useful verb with all the common conjugations. Me gusto mucho!

This book will really help you in Spanish for all levels. Everyword I needed to know was in there and different sturctures of the words. This I will always keep and use.

This is a very convenient guide to verb congugation in an easy to follow format. I have not found much use for the accompanying CD yet but in studying irregular verbs, it helps you rapidly see stem changes, etc. I am currently just beginning the preterite tense so I cannot comment on using it for other than the present and preterite tense yet. I think you will be happy as a student to have this handy reference.

This book is very clearly and easily laid out. Alphabetical order, dictionary in the back, worksheets and activities in the front. I use this as a referance to my everyday schoolwork (currently in spanish 3) and everyday life. It has every form of the verb possible, easily laid out for a quick referance. At a glance, you have everything you need to know. This book is $11.55 (at the moment) and a AMAZING deal. I bought them on amazon.com for myself and my friend for christmas. who says an educational book can't be a present?? she was thrilled. The book is huge and came in a HUGE box at my front door. I was half wondering what i had accidentaly ordered! But no, after ripping out layer after layer of sheets of bubble wrap, there lay my two books in the corner, taking up about 1/50 of the box space. :) I didn't mind--at least my books were safe!

I was struggling, wondering, what book to get, since their are many other versions of this book with other brands. I actually also have the "practice makes perfect- spanish verbs" also, which is an amazing book and I highly reccomend that. But here I am reviewing 501 Spanish Verbs.

so...bottom line... if you are interested in learning spanish, no matter what level you are on, absolutely no spanish experience, or fluent, I am absolutely positive that this book will be incredibly useful to you.

This book has really helped my in my spanish classes and it will for the rest of my Spanish requirements. The cd is helpful and it contains all the verb agreements. this is useful this for anyone learning Spanish.

I bought this book when I was learning Spanish because so many people recommend it. However 501 Spanish isn't a great book for students. It might be fine as a desk reference but for most students conjugating every verb correctly isn't essential. Instead the focus should be on learning to USE the language not memorize verbs or relying on a reference book. In addition, for those who are interested in verb conjugations, websites like [...] make looking up conjugations a snap, not to mention they are free and a lot more that 501 verbs.

I've used this book for years in my spanish classes.

It neatly lays out all the different spanish verb tenses for you. Also, if there is a verb not listed, it directs you to a similar verb that follows the same rule. This book is a lifesaver and excellent resource for anyone learning spanish.

I've found this book extremely useful, especially since I teach several different level Spanish courses. The book is very well organized - the verbs are in alphabetical order, and some of the more useful verbs are further explained to include sentences using these particular verbs. Furthermore, there's an explanation at the beginning of the book explaining each of the 14 tenses included in the book, in addition to grammar terminology.

1. The Ultimate Spanish Review and Practice w/CD-ROM (Ultimate Review & Reference) No Spanish Instructor should be without this book. Besides 501 Spanish Verbs, I believe that this is the most important tool for learning Spanish. As an instructor, I use this book to get ideas on subjects that I wish to teach. This book also many exercise that students can perform at home.

2. Learning Spanish Like Crazy: Spoken Spanish, Vol. 1 (2 volume set) When my students ask that I recommend a self-study audio course to use at home, I always recommend this one. I like it because it has Spanish speakers from many different Latin American countries, and in some cases you will hear speakers from the same country but from different cities or regions which gives them distinct accents. I like this method because it helps the student become accustomed to hearing different accents. They also cover casual or conversational Spanish in this course which is what most my students seem to be interested in learning.

3. Easy Spanish Phrase Book: Over 770 Basic Phrases for Everyday Use (Dover Easy Phrase) This phrase book is an excellent buy. It has lots of phrases that will help your students quickly begin learning lots of new phrases. Your students will also like the fact that it is a bargain. It was written a long time ago so it does need some updating.

4 1001 Most Useful Spanish Words (Beginners' Guides)This is another phrasebook. It is also an excellent buy with lots of new vocabulary words and phrases. This one is also a bargain. But like it was written a long time ago so it does need some updating.

5. Vox Modern Spanish and English Dictionary
No teacher's teaching-Spanish tool box would be complete without a Spanish-English dictionary. This one is my favorite. No matter which dictionary I choose for my students, there are always words missing, mainly because many times we'll use different vocabulary words depending on the Spanish speaking country that one is from. But let's just say compared to other Spanish-English dictionaries, it is less common that I will not be able to find a Spanish word listed in this dictionary.

I love this book!!! it has all the conjugated forms of the most used verbs. plus in the back of the book, it contains the meanings of hundreds of other verbs! this book really helps with your spanish and i recommend it to anyone learning the language!

This book is a necessity for anyone learning Spanish. Conjugating verbs is one of the hardest things to learn. This book is very useful. It has translations and conjugations of verbs listed in alphabetical order. The beginning of the book has information and practice activities to help with verb conjugations. It also comes with a cd rom that has a couple activities to help you learn. They are not bad activities, but they are also not the best learning tool I have ever used. The book is well worth it though.

I have great enthusiasm for everything written by Kendris. In our freshman year of college we all had Beginning to Write in French on our desks and it was wonderful.
I recommend you use this incredible reference with Behind the Wheel Spanish 8CDs if you really want to speak Spanish quickly and well.
I found that almost every verb in Kendris' work was spoken and used in context on the CDs for easy car learning, and also in the text for easy home review. I've taken 3 years of Spanish from Berlitz and if there is one thing I needed help with is VERBS! This book explains in detail and in an easy to understand way how to use and conjugate verbs and then has 501 verbs fully conjugated. At least for me I know I 'm going to need to memorize these verbs in order to become more fluent.

I can't explain how incredibly useful and well organized this book is. All the crazy conjugations you need for each verb are clearly and easily laid out in a table format.

I have been studying Spanish for 45 years (no lie!)
and this book has been extremely helpful to me throughout my years of study. I have another more compact version (333 verbs) but this is the most comprehensive edition I have found. I wore out my first copy also and this is my second version!

What follows is as much a testimonial as a review. I started studying Spanish as a second language three years ago, at the age of 38. I fairly quickly purchased this book, and found it to be by far the most helpful resource for me. I believe I may even have learned more from this book than from six weeks of classes, six hours a day.

While obviously the pages with the verbs themselves and their conjugations are very important, the heart of the book is the forty pages of instructional material found at the beginning. Every tense is explained there, very clearly and concisely. Nowhere else did I find the basics presented so well as they are in that introductory section. Long hours spent studying and reviewing this material, and the verbs themselves of course, will be well-rewarded.

In my own case, I recently married a woman who speaks little English, and for the time being Spanish is the only language spoken in our home. I really don't know how I could function without the grammar and vocabulary I got from this book.

I must have 20 Spanish books. I've studied the lanugage off and on for years. This is in my top 3 favorites. Haven't checked out the CD yet, but am looking forward to that too. The information in the book is useful for Students of different abilities (but not a novice). I think most students that are high-beginner, intermediate or advanced would get a lot out of the book.

I'm not sure I'll ever learn all 501 verbs, but the CD-ROM exercises are enjoyable and very helpful. I wish more of the verbs had been translated into English equivalents. The examples in the front of the book were helpful, but I could use many more.

A great reference. Particularly like the 55 essential verbs. Text at the beginning gives wonderful explainations of verb structure and use of the various tenses.
