This clown is affiliated with Atlantic Publishing Company. He is probably the owner. Go to their website (Atlantic Publishing Company) and you'll see his name and email everywhere. He is the one that "new authors" should contact with. This person is POSING LIKE A REAL READER on Amazon, Barnes and Noble etc and is posting positive comments on his own books as well as the other books that are published by his company. Shameless act of deception just to sell a book. Unbelivable. I was looking for a book that I needed on liquor control and while I was doing my research I realized that this guy is doing this almost everywhere on the internet. I find it disgusting to be honest. God knows how many people buy his or his company's books just after reading his "reader comments" without realizing that it's the same guy that posts those comments over and owner. And of course he is affiliated with (if not the owner of) the company that published those books. It's pathetic how he doesn't even bother posting different comments for different. It's the same comment copied and pasted everywhere. So I decided to have him taste his own medicine. Further than that he (or the "authors" that work for him) post the same comments for the other books that are published by this clown's company. I'd bet it's all him posting under different names too as if his own FAKE comments were not enough. In all fairness those books may or may not be good and useful books. But his constant attempts of shameless self plugging certainly makes me think that they are not worth buying. At least not for me.
To D. Brown (Douglas Robert Brown ) ... Make up your mind. Are you "Amy Johnson" or "Restaurant Man". I don't know many Amy's that are men. Why do you paste same non sense comment for different books? And why do they all deserve nothing but 5 stars? Do you work for th e publisher of those books? Seriously. Get a life. I'm reporting your comments to Amazon. I believe that they are fake, misleading and not objective at all. Needless to say you post the same comments for the same books under a different name on Barnes and Noble too. Or your "authors" do. How pathetic. Stop plugging for your books and others that you either publish or God knows how else connected to. I can't that believe Amazon lets you get away with creating BS comments for your and your company's books. Have some decencyif you even know what it means and just go away. Let the real readers decide what to think about your books. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-02-11 03:20:39 EST)

This is a good book for the prospective real estate investor. I find it useful just for reading, and also for reference.

This book provides an outstanding "how to" overview of what to do to get started in real estate investing.
After reading this book my wife and I were able to make our first real estate investment, and actually located an outstanding rental property investment opportunity where the seller is including two years of guaranteed monthly rental income. This is allowing us to start investing now when our cash flow won't free up for this investment opportunity for another nine months. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-01-24 01:03:15 EST)

It's been a few weeks since I read this book and my main recollection is how basic the book was. As an experienced real estate investor, I felt it was a waste of my time. I ended up skimming most of it because there wasn't much helpful info for me.
I purchased and read several real estate related books from the same publisher (Atlantic?) and I found the same style of writing, minimal coverage of topics and annoying generalizations.... I would bet $1.00 they were the same author with a different pen name ! Good book for a beginner but if you're experienced, don't expect to get more than a few good "tips" from this book. This book is similar to several books published by Atlantic publishing. It recently has had affiliates post a series of fake reviews. Everything the individuals have reviewed has received 5 stars and every book is published by Atlantic publishing. If you don't think this is true, look at the other books that reviewers have reviewed. The pattern is clear. Atlantic, please don't waste peoples money with false reviews.

Buy It! Read It! Keep It! That is my advice to anyone who thinks that they might ever be interested in buying a piece of property. Steven Fisher's book "The Real Estate Investor's Handbook: The Complete Guide for the Individual Investor" is an excellent guide to show you the way through the maze. I think that this is a must have for someone that only plans to buy one property or for the next "Donald Trump" wannabe. Steven has covered a great amount of material in this book that is absolutely dynamite. I recommend this book to one and all.

Having been a part-time real estate investor myself, I thoroughly enjoyed reading Steven Fisher's book. Given the large volume of unhelpful books on real estate investing, I am pleased to see so much valuable information in a single book. If you have been, or plan to get, involved in real estate investing, this is the single best book to use.
Fisher covers all of the strategies that make for successful investing: starting with little money, "flipping," mortgages, foreclosures, and REO's. Unlike other books, Fisher also explains the secrets to finding the right properties. Given that property identification is the most common mistake that would-be real estate investors make, this chapter of the book is especially useful. The book also includes some effective plans for tax advantages and exit strategies. If you want to own and make money from real estate, get this book! "The Real Estate Investors Handbook" is a terrific guide for successful investing. The book could be a little overwhelming for a novice, but it is an excellent resource for the serious investor. It offers an in-depth and complete guide to making profits from real estate. The book also stresses the importance of record keeping and provides an assortment of financial forms and letters to be used when dealing with your property. Also included in the book are real-life testimonies from investors telling about their real estate successes and failures.
This book is a necessity for all real estate investors. The tips and helpful hints are an invaluable resource that can be referred to over and over again. (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-06-24 09:45:11 EST)

Whenever I have thought about investing in real estate, I always dismissed it as a "no, that's not for me." I had seen the various folks on TV saying `buy my papers so you can learn the tricks to purchasing homes for pennies on the dollar with no money down' but I never felt like I could spend the money on their product. Then, after searching through this book by way of the Search Inside and reading a page here and there, I knew I had to purchase it. The information it contained was worth much more than the cost I paid to purchase it.
The book spends a lot of time on understanding the various financial nuances of purchasing real estate. It has various worksheets throughout it to help even the most mathematically challenged person (like me) understand some very complex concepts like interest, mortgage payments, returns on investment and even landlord/tenant agreements. Further, the book offers a basic business plan and guidelines for setting up your own operation. The book is full of information and offers an accessible look at the world of real estate investment. It acknowledges that the complexity of real estate while keeping the text easy-to-understand and interesting. The step-by-step approach the book takes makes it an excellent resource for an investment beginner like me. I'm sure that a more seasoned investor would also find useful information in the book as well. I'm confident the small investment price I paid for the book will multiply exponentially as I put the information into action and start my own investment program. The Real Estate Investors Handbook is an excellent tool for anyone interested in a career, or even a part-time venture, as a real estate investor. But, perhaps even better, this handbook isn't aimed only at newcomers; it's also chock full of valuable information for experienced real estate investors. In addition to an extensive glossary, there are sample letters for landlords to use with problem tenants, case studies from seasoned real estate investors, and charts for evaluating potential investment properties.
The Real Estate Investors Handbook focuses on both residential and commercial properties, which gave me great insight and sparked an interest in the commercial side of real estate investment, something I'd not considered before. The most helpful aspects of the book were definitely the sections on being a landlord (including great questions to ask to make sure being a landlord is right for you) and how to find and evaluate investment property. Other topics covered in-depth are flipping property, finding a quality team to work with, and negotiating. Essentially, the book covers everything you could want and need to know about real estate investing. If you're looking for a complete book on real estate investing, I highly recommend The Real Estate Investors Handbook. It provides solid information backed by examples from highly successful real estate investors. It's comprehensive, easy-to-understand, and ultimately a valuable read with tons of advice that certainly has me more confident about starting a career in real estate investment. Definitely gets five stars from me! (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-07-04 11:33:05 EST)

This book is for all real estate investors, from the novice investor to real estate veterans. Unlike other books in the genre, this book uses actual case studies to substantiate the research presented. This provides the reader with clear examples and evidence of past success. The book also contains a chapter on negotiating for a property. I found this section particularly helpful because I, like many people, am intimidated and ensure when trying to negotiate a deal. This chapter gave me definite ideas and examples I will use when I next try to negotiate a deal.
Another unique feature of this book is the section dedicated to landlords. This section clearly outlines the rights and responsibilities of a landlord, how to attract and keep good tenants, and how to protect your investments. This section also includes sample forms typically used by landlords, including a holiday letter, a maintenance guarantee, and reasons for eviction form. This book is a good reference for those interested in the real estate market. I would highly recommend this book as a resource for anyone interested in investing in real estate.
