I don't know, I thought this seemed like a great idea. And maybe in some markets it is. In Philadelphia, it's different from the authors home of Florida and I just didn't get anything out of reading this book. When he says options are a little known used RE tool, he ain't lying! After reading Mr. Lucier's book I realized that this was a concept that was completely impractical for me. Some of his stories about finding warehouses that sat vacant for years, cleaning the floor and a coat of pain and voila! $25000 profit, well, they just seem totally out there to me. If you think you can make a go of it, yes, it takes little money but this concept is seldom used and not going to work in many places.

This book is exactly what I was looking for. I was interested in getting started in buying and selling real estate options and this book gets to the heart of it. There are a multitude of great suggestions, tips, and instruction. I would be lost without it. There are even sample forms. Worth twice the price!!

Real estate options are a very little used tool in the business, possibly because many people confuse them with land contracts. RE Options are nothing like land contracts, in a land contract you are obligated to buy. In an option you have the option of purchasing at a preset price. A number of examples are given and this is a well written book for people who have never attempted this. I recommend this book to all RE investors and Realtors.

Like Lucier's other book on finding preforeclosure properties, this book on real estate options, while full of useful information, is so hard to read because of the terrible writing style that it is hard to recommend very strongly. His uneducated writing style causes me to wonder if he really knows what he is talking about. Prepare to be educated by torture if you choose to read this book.

Great for a rookie to get lot of updated real estate information, but this book is probably geared toward an investor with a little more experience or a rookie investor that is well schooled. Also good a strategy, which involves locating distressed property, controlling that property with an option, and then finding a buyer who would probably not have considered that property until you were able to show him the potential in that property. I went to read this book to see if they had any definite information on tax liens and tax deeds. Plenty of developers have raked in millions because they were able to start subdivisions with cheap land bought through tax sales. Unfortunately, this book doesn't cover a lot of this.

I would recommend reading something like Investing Without Losing: The Beginner's Guide to Real Estate Tax Lien and Tax Deed Auctions if you're looking to invest in real estate with less money, controlled risks, and higher profits.

Mr. Lucier has written a book with no bullspit or filler material. He simply gets down to the business of educating the reader about straight options and the best way to profit from them.

Really got me thinking and was filled with very useful, helpful, informative, but easy and simple to understand tricks. One of my favorites. A+

This book is great. It's concise, educational and to the point. Mr. Lucier provides enough information that Realtor's would never tell you. He also provides forms to guide you in the right direction. I am also reading his book about Pre-Foreclosures and it has a lot of insight with the in's and out's of the housing market.

I would recommend anyone interested in real estate to read this book first.

I have read Mr. Luciers book from front to book in its entirety and I'm about to re-read it again along with taking notes and contacting the attorneys, combing thru public records, etc to make this strategy work.

I believe the information that Mr. Lucier provides in his book can be compared to that of an uncut diamond. Meaning that, natural diamonds dont look like the ones you see in the jewelry stores. In fact the average person may simply pass them by as an ordinary stone if seen. Natural diamonds must be cut and polished to become truly valuable as we all know them to be.

Mr. Luciers Real Estate Option book is that uncut natural diamond, and it is up to you, the reader, to cut and polish this information as it applies to your local real estate environment to make it truly valuable.

When it come to Real Estate book, remember Thomas Lucier, and you come across an individual having 25 years of working experience pouring his knowledge and expertise to you. The books, which I read from other authers before, they were just Technical Writer. I read this book and planning to read others as well. It gave me practical knowledge and exposure about this challenging profession. Good Luck

This is my second of many books by the author. I like the way the material is presented with no fluff or "bullspit" as he likes to call it. Everything I needed to know was in the book and has since been put to use. Many thanks to Mr. Lucier for not wasting my hard earned money and time as so many other so called experts have done.

I've read a few real estate books and this has got to be the best one I have read so far. I am also reading his Pre-Foreclosure book and so far that has also been really good.

when i first started reading this book, i got all excited because it looked like it was gonna be filled with lots of "advanced" technical information that i can read, review, and research for more detail. i was right. i enjoyed this book from start to finish (even though it got a little slow for me somewhere in the middle, i understand that the basics must be included to appeal to a broader audience).

one thing that i am all jazzed about that was mentioned in the book, but wasn't talked about in detail, was regarding the taxation of the option consideration. the option consideration is not taxable until the exercise of the option. now, with just this bit, you can get pretty creative.

also, the author's keeps his promise to answer any technical questions via email or phone. now that's awesome!

Im 23 and im about to start my own company after reading this book. it'll give you a good sense of direction about how to go about flipping properties under option....think about the following:
- you dont have to put money upfront
- you dont assume title to the property so you avoid lawsuits
- and you can easily make $15,000/property
- do that 4 times a year and u'll be making more money than you do in the entire year
- you spend less than 60 hours per property

I wouldnt sell the book even for $100. Its worth a lot more than that!! there are only 2-3 books written on this subject (naked options)...go and buy one for urself!!

Thomas gets to the point of exactly what to do and how to do it. There isn't any fluff or crap that other writers fill people's heads with. It is information that comes straight from the field.

He also talks a lot about the risks and things you must avoid to not get taken for your money and to make money.

Thomas paints a realistic picture of what it takes to make money in this business, which is much different from other writers that sell you the high points and then tell you to buy a multi-thousand dollar course.

Mr. Lucier's book, "How to Make Money with Real Estate Options" is very informative and necessary for anyone interested in Options. I enjoyed his practical experience examples paired with a dose of humor. I have been studying various Real Estate transaction stratigies. This book has given me the confidence to proceed in Options now that I am armed with lists, forms, and legal links. Thank you for an honest, concise and welll-written book!

Thomas Lucier gets right to the point with straightforward strategies for finding properties with the best profit potential. These profits are possible because these properties are well below the radar of most of the local real estate competition. Lucier then explains in detail how to use option agreements to control these properties with low risk to yourself. I checked with a real estate attorney and he confirmed that the option agreement complies with the real property statutes in my state.

I contacted the author one time for further insight and he answered my question immediately. Impressive. Thank you Thomas Lucier for writing this book!

I have invested in numerous books, programs and seminars on real estate investing and this was the first book that didn't sugar-coat what one can expect with the various methods being touted by the "experts". Having acquired or controlled a number of properties through traditional financing, lease options and subject to methods and dealing with the many pros and cons of those methods, I am re-tooling my company to focus on naked options in order to minimize my risk and maximize my profits and am using Thomas Lucier's excellent book as my operations manual.

After reading the 1st paragraph of the Introduction to this book, I knew right away, that I finally found an author that was for real and would provide me with useful and practical Real Estate Investing information that I could use in the real world. His book, "How to Make Money with Real Estate Options" is absolutely incredible. His realistic & no-nonsense approach to the subject has changed my life and made me a believer in controlling Real Estate without actually owning it.

And yes, he will not only return your message, but he'll promptly get back to you with an answer to you question or concern. This would never, ever happen with any of the other authors, unless of course, you signed up for their boot camps.

I'm a long time real estate investor (over 16 years) and found this material to be OK, but weak on practicality. There are better books to be found.

My wife & I were looking for some down to earth advise on how to make money in Real Estate. We tried some of the expensive Guru types. Then we read Mr. Lucier's books. We found the books to be realistic, informative and entertaining. We are only sorry that we did not start with his books. We wasted a lot of time and money on other people's products.

Weather it is real estate options or foreclosure procedures, Mr. Lucier give the reader a well defined plan for making money. He also includes pitfalls and problems that other authors tend to forget. These books are for the real world!

Get this...You can ask Mr. Lucier a question and he actually answers you! He will even take a phone call and talk to people who have read his books. Try that with Carlton Sheets or some other big name Guru. Not a chance.

We urge anyone who is interested in the business of real estate to buy Mr. Lucier's books and read them twice. You will really have some knowledge.

I'm in the process of reading this book a second time. This book is not the candy coated stuff you usually get. It brings up the many things that can & do go wrong. It then tells you how to try to avoid typical pitfals. It warns you of the real world deals where owners are dishonest & how they will attempt to swindle you. There are plenty of reference web sites & samples forms to use. The biggest surprise was that I emailed the author & got a response w/ in hours - I'm impressed!

I am disappointed in myself for waiting so long in purchasing this awesome book. The price is extremely reasonable, the information is packed within an easy readable book. You receive step by step instructions with support from the author. I receive an answer to my e-mail within 10 minutes. Treat yourself and buy this book.

This book was very informative to me. The only problem you may encounter is that the Author, who does publish his contact information doesn't seem to respond to questions as some other reviewers stated. I've left messages and emails for him and have yet to here from him. This was like 2 months ago.

This book is very thorough, well organized and easy to follow. It provides links to ready-to-use forms and letters for individual investors. You will learn how to limit your property investment risks while implementing strategies to increase the value of property. Make small or large profits. It is up to your imagination!

I thought I understood the lease/option strategy and always avoided it because of the probability of violating the "due on sale" clause of mortgages. This book outlines a smarter strategy.

I am a former real estate broker (6 years in California during the crazy years of 1977 through 1983) and this book by Thomas Lucier is one of the better I have read over the years. It gives much practical real world information and gives the novice investor and experienced investor a tool to improve their chances of success in the options and lease options world of investing in real estate.

It is a seminar in a book. I highly recommend it for others.
