|
The realtor's essential guide to harnessing true earning power How to Become a Power Agent in Real Estate gives real estate agents both the powerful sales techniques and the practical management tips they need to double their income by closing more transactions. Based on the outstanding success of Darryl Davis's seminar "The POWER Program," this motivational guide utilizes POWER Principles to help the new agent as well as the experienced top producer dramatically increase listings and sales. The book is full of Davis's surefire methods for managing the sales process, including time management for agents, prospecting for listings, handling the seller's and buyer's concerns, maintaining a winning attitude, and generating more sales in less time. He also reveals how clever use of the Web can provide a competitive edge and how the top producers work smarternot harder. Offering field-proven tools and techniques, Davis shows agents how to progress at their own pace to their own personal Next Level and accelerate their entry into Top Agent status. |

I love it so much that I borrowed my brokers copy and now and buying my own so I can refer to it over and over again.
I learned more than any training session as I love to read and take things at my own pace and the objection chapter is invaluable. Finally a trainer who actually puts information in his books rather than using them as a marketing tool for a training program. Davis gives up so many ideas I would have never thought of and has a sense of humor to boot. The PERFECT book for a new or motivated to improve agent! I have both of Dirk Zeller's books and they are such a disappointment I can't even get through them as he won't explain his methods and it frustrates me as I end up with unanswered questions. Davis goes through every step with you. 6 stars! (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-12-04 04:39:21 EST)

I'm working on my 6th year as a real estate agent and out of all the business books that I've read this one really hits the nail on the head! I started reading the book about 3 weeks ago and it already has had an effect on my business. I've been on 4 CMA presentations and came out with 4 Listings on the same day that I met with the prospects. This book gives samples of dialogues with sellers and buyers, time management advice, goal setting, servicing listings, seperating the serious buyers from the not so serious, and at the same time looking out for your clients best interest. You must read this book to succeed!

For a rookie agent, this book has reinforced many things I have heard from other agents. It has provided insights and techniques that have already been used by myself and other more experienced agents in my workplace.

This book is great! Particularly for new agents. If you just do have the stuff he suggests you can be a suuccessful real estate agent regardless of the market. Our broker gave us the book, but I so liked it I purchased a copy for a friend who is a realtor in another state and she has already implemented some things based on the book which has already improved her ability to get listings. Very easy reading.

This book is awesome!! I learnt so much from this book about selling and leasing apartments that I was doing tons and tons of deals in Manhattan. Eventually, Mansion Realty Group heard of me and came to me to recruit me! I am now a top grossing agent with one of the best real estate brokerages in the city thanks in large part to this book!!

I just bought this book not even 2 days ago and I am already more than halfway through it. I cant put it down. This is the first real estate book I have actually WANTED to go and sit down and read for 2 hours at a time. Its a very easy read and it has some amazing advice in it. I can't wait to try and put it to good use. I highly recommend this book if you've got tons of other real estate books sitting on the shelf that you lost interest in right away. This one will keep you busy for awhile and you wont be putting it on the shelf knowing your never gonna touch it again. This is a great book for both the novice and the experienced agent. I would love to go see one of Darryl Davis's seminars when he is in my area (and that is a big compliment being that I am not a fan of seminars.) Trust me, this one isnt a waste of money.

This book is a rehash of bits and pieces that you can find elsewhere presented in a more useful mode. Mike Ferry is not bad. Gary Keller is very good, though not long on some technical matters. And while you are at it, go to Roger Dawson & G. Richard Shell for a little help.
Now, Spin Selling, with the workbook, by Neil Rackham, and you will begin to put it all together. And, by the way, it is a statistical game. No matter how wonderful you are -- and no matter how much BS the trainers give you about how they can sell any and every person -- you can't. The trick is to expect to generate 3 to 6 sales per 100 people you talk real estate to PROVIDED you keep in touch and don't expect anything for six months. Keep on keeping on, talk to 50 new people (while staying in touch with the old) for 18 months, and you will suddenly discover you are making a pile of money. On average, you will get 3 transactions a month every month, provided you keep talking to 50 new contacts per month. What the motivational boys and the trainers don't tell you is they have nothing to teach. The only use for a trainer is to create a parent figure to whom you are responsible for making your phone calls, meeting the people and doing the follow up, and doing the follow up, and doing the follow up. Darryl Davis is pretty far down the list when it comes to helping you get where you want to go. (Review Data Last Updated: 2006-07-07 07:17:21 EST)

Overall, I was VERY impressed with the quality of information in this book. The *concepts* presented, on how to manage your time and build your business effectively, for example were absolutely on the mark. However, I definitely felt some of the scripts and "techniques" were on the cheesy side and a little bit high-pressure. I think it's important for every agent to develop their own style, so - lousy scripts aside - this book is a must-read if you are looking for inspiration and direction on building a successful real estate career.

This is a very good book. The author gives very good advice for novice to professional real estate agents. I learned some good tips and adopted some great techniques from this book. The techniques work the more you apply them.

This book is full of salesman scripts and manipulation. I was disappointed in the book. I dont think the days of just being honest are totally gone and I dont think you should have to have a script to answer your clients every questions, Why not just tell them the truth??? The book had a couple of good prospecting ideas and was somewhat motivating, but all in all it's a good book for a used car salesman.

After reading this book four times I applied the principles described in this book and got myself three marketable listings in eight days. My creative ideas for farming postcards are more attractive and far funnier than any sold in catalogs. I was emailing, talking in person, and telephoning prospects from seven in the morning until seven at night up to seven days a week.
My broker called me aside and said, "Marcia, I have to let you go, you are so aggressive you are scaring everyone in this office. I am afraid you are frightening customers." I had only been in the business three months so I am now broke, selling plasma and cleaning a few houses. As a single mom, facing a destitute Christmas is hard, but I keep smiling. I will save up enough to start over again: do the same things Darryl taught me at another office, (only under my broker, fellow agents and the support staff's radar screen). If you are an new agent who knows how to hide your light under a bushel basket, buy this book!!! (Review Data Last Updated: 2006-05-23 09:56:49 EST)

If your looking for a quick read that scratches the surface of a lot of real estate basics, you'll like this book. If your looking for something more in depth and detailed, skip this one and go straight to Tom Hopkins "How to Master the Art of Listing and Selling Real Estate". I may have enjoyed "How to Become a Power Agent.." more if I had not already read the Hopkins book.
