The book isn't good choice for a beginner. Too many mistakes, missconceptions and lack of basic explanations of radio equipment makes this book usefull only if you had more simmilar books nearby. While drawings are OK, photos are of really poor quality. Could be better, much better.

This gives a new comer a good start on the basics. I was suprised to find it was written by a Brit. Too many specifications in Metric for a beginner, Also would expect a better glossary at the beginning before telling someone to attach something to a horn. What the heck is a horn. Ya, I finally did figure it out. All-in-All a good read.
