I created my first scale R/C plane recently and found this book invaluable. It covers techniques like panel lines, rivets, hatches, landing gear doors and finishing techniques very clearly and logically. The lack of color pictures was not an issue for me at all. Since the book is a collection of articles, in some cases similar techniques are covered more than once -- for example, there are three articles on "covering with fabric". I liked that, since each dealt with using slightly different materials, and allowed me to choose the approach that I was most comfortable with. I learned to mold fiberglass parts using this book, and have had great success with it. If you're building scale R/C models, this is a great addition to your library. I somehow lost my original and just bought another copy.

This book is a collection of how-to articles from different
authors. The articles are well organized but my biggest complaint is that there are not any color photos it's all black and white. If you are looking for how to ideas on painting etc it would be more helpful if the pictures were in color. (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-02-17 02:22:31 EST)
