MICROSOFT OUTLOOK 97 STEP BY STEP provides a procedural, personal training system for those who want to get up and running quickly and easily on Microsoft Outlook, the new desktop information manager at the heart of Microsoft Office 97. The easy-to-follow lessons present clear objectives and real-world business examples, with numerous screen shots and illustrations. A new title in the best-selling Step by Step series, this is likely to be in great demand.

Microsoft Outlook 97 Step By Step manages to provide an introduction to Outlook while still delving into some of the software package's most powerful capabilities. A bundled floppy disk contains practice files you use to follow along with the lesson, review, and practice sections in the book--a useful addition if you don't already have a lot of data to work with. Many of the lessons focus on workgroup features, including features that require access to a Microsoft Exchange Server back end. (Many users won't be in an Exchange Server environment.) There's also a chapter on using Outlook when you're away from the office, which also assumes that you're using Exchange. You'll find an introduction to using customized forms, which come with the Office 97 ValuPack, and some information on creating your own forms. The chapter on using Outlook with other Office applications, and the troubleshooting tips that you'll find throughout the book, are especially useful, whether you're new to Outlook or not.
