The New Create an Oasis With Greywater: Choosing, Building and Using Greywater Systms - Includes Branched Drains

Create an Oasis describes how to quickly and easily choose, build, and use a simple greywater system. Some can be completed in an afternoon for under $30.

It also provides complete instructions for more complex installations, how to deal with freezing, flooding, drought, failing septics, low perk soil, non-industrialized world conditions, coordinating a team of professionals to get optimum results on high-end projects, and "radical plumbing" that uses 90% less resources.

If you are a revolutionary and innovative thinker that respects the preciousness of water and its integral relationship to the planet earth; and if sustainability and conservation are forces that impel you in your daily life...
Then this is a must have.

After reading the numerous reviews on this site prior to purchasing this book, I thought I was getting a very thorough book that would assist with "legal" system design and reclaimation strategies. While this book does gloss over them, it refers you to a sister publication for all "legal" builing issues and concentrates on illegal or 'radical' methods as they call it. Take this in mind of you are looking to design a 'legal' system for your home.

I liked this book. It is short, fast reading and worth the time. I want to start my own catchment system because of this book. I have a need for understanding with some other environmental issues that were not addressed in the book, but overall, I am excited about the possible options for recycling water regardless of it's state (rain, grey, black) on my homesite. This book addresses my needs.

I found this book more for someone looking to convert their existing house and plumbing to run on a grewater system, as opposed to for someone looking to build a house around/incorporating a greywater system (which is my situation).
Still, an extremely specific and informative book for those who are interested in knowing every nuance of making a greywater system out of any situation.

A very detailed book, but specificly aimed at very dry area's.
There is info of use to wetter areas, but maybe not enough to justify buying the book.

I was able to find the information I needed to plan for a greywater system for our new house. But finding that information was a challenge. The book could use a consistent look and be better organized. The content is good; the presentation is lacking.

I've read two of Art's books, Water Storage and The New Create an Oasis With greywater. They were both fantastically educational and surprisingly easy to understand even for a woman like me who's never touched a tool.

Read this book and get over your phobia of graywater use. The time is now for people in this country to reconsider using used water. It makes so much sense. I'm glad Texas is one of the few states which realizes the necessity of reusing water. More states should follow the lead of Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico. This book was so very helpful to me in planning my graywater oasis.

I live off grid in Spain and need to sort out my grey water disposal. Your choices of reading material are slim ! Art and his team have the cash is a factor, Im willing to learn, peoples DIY market to themselves and they dont disappoint. Practical, common sense approach, most angles covered for all type of geography and with an eye for ones budget . I have read it a couple of times and getting ready to start implimenting, its not rocket science but hes seen the mistakes and documented the good the bad and the ugly. So we dont have to. Its almost Hobsons choice, but when Hobson aka Art is the world guru on this subject thankyour self he could write as well

Luwig provides page after page of valuable information. Anyone wanting to reuse greywater needs to buy this book. Ludwig's branched drain systems is simple, affordable, and highly effective at using greywater in the landscape, but you can make many mistakes if you don't heed the master's advice. I have installed several systems based on Ludwig's work, and I shutter to think what would have happened if I had not read his books! In addition, his writing style makes for an enjoyable reading experience even though some of the material is, by necessity, technical.
