The Birds in My Life
This book was a major disappointment. Thank goodness I got it for only 0.75 on half.com. The photos are taken by an amateur, and some are out of focus. The birds are Photoshopped into a natural environment. The text is minimal, and is poorly written. An example of an entire page:

I am not afraid of any height
Here you can see me hanging upside
I want to see the blue Heaven
That ~ my original nature~ reminds

This has taught me to be very wary of the "ratings" on Amazon. All of the reviewers that gave it 5 stars only had her other books (which are all self-published) listed in "see all my reviews". Of course, they all received 5 stars, also! For someone that has supposedly attained "Perfect Enlightenment", she seems to have no problems misleading the public. Interestingly enough, on Wikipedia, one of her directives is "to not speak that which is untrue."

I hope this will help other readers avoid this author and be wary of uniformly glowing reviews.

* This book features the some of worst fonts in existence: curls, papyrus, and more.
* On one page there is a photoshopped image of a bird wearing an elegant fur coat.
* Here's a writing sample:

"I might look scary
But I am no witchy
I am all loving sweet
All dovey sugar honey!"

If you are between the ages of 10 and 80 you will be unable to have any response to this book aside from laughing at it. I actually thought it was joke when I first saw it, but apparently a lot of people have bought it on Amazon. This book is in my possession because a coworker got it for free and left it on the coffee table for someone else to take. I'm currently trying to figure out if I should save it for a gag gift, leave it in a friend's house for them to discover, or just throw it in the trash.

I'm thrilled that my neighbors love this book. The kids just love the birds! And my older friends love it when they received in Christmas.

It's such a lively and vivid portrayal into the bird "characters" that I feel they are my true great friends.
The author has successfully conveyed her love for these birds to her readers and made them a part of their lives.

This is the best book you can get to give as a gift honestly :)
Would appeal to many, many people, regarless the age or even if you believe they don't care much about birds or things like that, you would see that they will love it!

This book surely shows the love animals have inside and the beauty of their inner souls.

After reading the book, it seems that we have entered a new era, with a new level of understanding of our world... Communication with birds and other animals is not a remote, strange concept anymore. With a little love, we can access the secret inner world of our feathery fellows... No need to talk. Be silent and just listen to what these wise and sensitive creatures have to say... I am looking forward to befriend birds and to be able to open new horizons in my life.

For the Dad and Mom, this book has lots of touching stories and dialogues that would bring you love and happiness, remind you the child in your heart and help relieve the stresses in the daily work.

For your kids or kids of your relatives and friends, this book has lots of beautiful, well illustrated colorful pictures and simple stories that would easily be understood by children. By learning to appreciate and love birds, children could learn to appreciate and love other people and beings. Of course, they want to be loved too!

For the bird lovers, this book has a wide collection of various kinds of beautiful parrots not commonly seen in just one book! This book is a keeper!

For those whose native language is not English, this book is a very good place to learn English as the wordings used are simple, beautiful and in large fonts.

As for those who are health consciousness, concern about the well beings of our planet, and spiritual practitioners, nothing need to say anymore as the superb, noble and unconditional love from this book can only help uplift our well bings!

Oh, do PLEASE get over yourself! What? Just plain "Chang Hai" not good enough for you?

I think I'm going to write a book about my entomological experiences, titled

Kinda makes "Supreme Master Chang Hai" seem a little ordinary, by comparison.

I did not belived bird/animal have feeling like human until I read this book. The design and the color selected for this book uplift your mood. I enjoy the book very much.

When I received this book I started reading it, and I kept reading it, I couldn't put it down. I ordered this book for me, but my family also loves it and they share it with their friends. With beautiful pictures of 24+ birds and their stories - I learned a lot from their unconditional and selfless love. Their stories can bring pleasure and uplift your spirit with a pure, higher level of love. I definitely don't regret buying this.

This book may very well help rejuvenate your health and allow you to drop the extra pounds and possibly protect, and even reverse, certain ailments such as diabetes, high cholesterol, arthritis, and others.

I browsed this book in a store and I found it silly and vapid.

Why is this book getting so many 5-star reviews from people who have never reviewed a book before? The only thing that Ching Hai is a master of is creating fake reviews.

Supreme Master Ching Hai is the most compassionate not only for human being but for all beings! This world need a person like her.

Truly when you look at the pictures you can clearly feel how lively birds are and the love between Master Ching Hai and birds. Excellent gift to animal lovers!
