I stumbled upon this little treasure by chance and absolutely love it! I have always been attracted to Egyptian lore and have collected various oracles and Tarot decks with similar themes. This one takes the cake! Historically based and thoroughly researched, it is not just a simple pack of cards.



The artistic skill could be a little tighter. The colors are not vivid, the execution is not as professional as it could be. What it lacks here, philosophically this set is lightyears ahead of all competition. It took about a month of study and review until it gave its secrets. It was mindboggling! I was a strict believer that the tarot did not come from Egypt. Now I am not so sure. This is not a tarot deck but it works like one if desired through random shuffling. I really appreciate the casting of the included 8 sided die.



There are some hard to believe theories presented as well; such as life originating on another planet, and rather abstract theories on the afterlife. I wished the book was longer, with sections on magical applications and individual invocations. To a creative magician, this is not difficult. Time will tell where this deck ends up. I was clueless as to its existence before this year. A second edition with some beefed up artistry would be nice but who knows...

I bought this deck thinking that this was a tarot deck...boy, was I surprised when I got the set. However, not to be bogged down, I sat down and went through the Book and then even did a few readings for myself and my friends.

It was powerful, to say the least! The readings are quite accurate and on the dot. I never thought that it would happen, but I have come to develop a respect for this method of divinition.

You can use this deck like a regular tarot deck as well and it still provides you with the answers you seek! This is how interesting this deck is.

I must say that I loved it!

all i can say is the book of doors is so in tune, i use and have used many other divine tools, however this stands to be the best. not once in a divination session has the oracle been off. all my friends and family are so suprised how true it is. i have used the book of doors since it has been published. in fact i use it so much
i had to order 2 more sets, because my book was falling apart. 1 for divining with others, and 1 for just me aclean copy. any ways the book of doors should be on everyones coffee table. the information is accurate, and true, simple to follow,the ancient teachings is a plus, it is simply divine.

i just got this set, and i love it. it is attractive! the author knows the material and the text is well written and provoking.it should be placed in the top ten along with the thoth deck for esoteric knowledge & thought.
it is not new age fluff...it is a serious working deck.
if you love ancient egypt and are willing to put in the time and work required for this deck, i think you will be greatly rewarded
the only complaints i have is it could be better quality & packaging...the cards are not coated and the die should have been made of wood. but most tarots will have similar issues...

As an archpriestess of Isis in the Fellowship of Isis, I am always looking for good tools to help introduce people to the Gods of ancient Egypt. The Book of Doors is one such tool.

The Book of Doors gives both a wonderful introduction and a detailed look into the Gods of ancient Egypt, presented as a medium for divination. The authors' heavy emphasis on alchemy as a path for understanding and transformation draws on the long tradition that historically traces that discipline to Egypt. While I do not always agree with their interpretation of the meanings of the Gods, which they sometimes distort to fit their alchemical model, I still find this a useful tool for both divination and for studying the Gods and Goddesses. I recommend it highly as an alternative or backup to your everyday Tarot deck!

I also find the use of a die to select cards to be a wonderful randomizing tool, as opposed to traditional shuffling and other selection methods. They supply an 8-sided die with the deck, along with instructions for using it. Interesting method.

This attractive set of cards and book make an excellent introduction to the world of the Egyptian pantheon. Well researched, written with poetic sensibility and insight, the Book of Doors makes a perfect gift for anyone interested in Egyptian spirituality. There is even an e-mail list dedicated to the study of the individual cards, in themselves a guide to the often confusing Egyptian Cosmology.

I have been useing the book of doors for 3 years now, and I have found that this is the easyist, and most acurate set of cards I have ever used.
