What's Your Poo Telling You?

With universal appeal (everyone poops, after all), this witty, illustrated description of over two dozen dookies (each with a medical explanation written by a doctor) details what one can learn about health and well-being by studying what's in the bowl. A floater? It's probably due to a buildup of gas. Now think back on last night's dinner, a burrito perhaps? . . .All the greatest hits are here: The Log Jam, The Glass Shard, The Deja Poo, The Hanging Chad . . . the list goes on. Sidebars, trivia, over 60 euphemisms for number 2, and unusual case histories all make this the ultimate bathroom reader. Who knew you could learn so much from your poo?

If you have ever been interested in Poo, then you will love this book. It is hilarious and informative. I found myself laughing out loud after reading every few pages. The book explores many types of Poo, like Deja' Poo, Hanging Chads, Monster Poo, and many more. What causes these types of bowel movements? What elements does Poo consist of? Who invented the modern toilet? Why is the secret service careful to dispose of the presidential poo so that it doesn't fall into the wrong hands? All these questions and many more are answered in this book. You will also learn about your health by observing your poo. Not bad for a one hour read.

I purchased this book as a gag gift for my brother's 50th birthday (along with other senior citizen refuse items) and when I received it I couldn't believe how small it was. Normally I would never read a book before giving it to someone but this could be read in a matter of minutes. I found the book to be simple (which is good especially if you don't want big scientific words) and somewhat humorous. Not laugh-out-loud funny as some people think. The information was worth reading though. I don't recall my parents ever giving the "your different stools mean this..." speech. I learned a few things and now I'm aware of the health of my home through the inspection of the garbage.

I first heard about this book on [...] an episode of Internet Superstar, where one of the authors spoke about it with Martin Sargent. It sounded interesting, but not interesting enough to search it out. Recently, I was out with my wife Michele for dinner when I saw the book.

It's a small book, suitable for reading on the toliet, so I picked it up. Once I got home, I went to the obvious reading spot and began to read. Happily, it's actually an informative book, explaining a lot about poo and why people encounter such a variety of poops. 95 small pages long, the book contains a ton of good, easily understandable info on poo.

After reading the book, I'm planning to make sure to eat a bit more fiber and drink a bit more water to be nice to my colon. If you see the book, pick it up, you won't regret it.

I ordered this book after it was reommended by a health and lifestyle writer in an aricle published in my Daily Newspaper. Its amusing and a great gag gift, but not as medically detailed as I would have prefered. It has already been re-gifted.

Considering that I bought this book on sale for $5 with free shipping, I would say it was a steal. The book is educational with funny photos and names to help classify each type of poo. Each classification of poo includes symptoms and causes as well as any reason for concern. The book is also very small and thin, so it actually sits nicely on the toilet as decorative reading material for any guests that make an extended visit to your restroom.

tells you what which poop means so you can sit in the potty figuring out what you ate too much of and what you should add to your diet. I could have done without the slang poop terms in the table of contents (The number three) but I nevertheless knew what they were referring to and was able to go to that page. Good book!

The book is hilarious, yet, informative! When I saw a pile of the books sitting near the checkout at B. Dalton, the clerk told me it was their top seller for the store 3 weeks prior to Christmas - outselling the NY Times #1 book! That sold me. (I was actually there looking for a different book.) When I decided to buy a copy for my boyfriend as a Christmas gift, the clerk's response was, "Just one?" I ended up buying 4 total to give as gifts and they were certainly the most talked about Christmas gift! I HIGHLY recommend this book - especially if you need a fun gift for a guy.

Reviewer Permalink
--This book is small in size. I was expecting a little bigger. It measures about 6 1/4" long by 4 3/4" wide, and almost 1/2"wide. 95 pages.
I guess it's better at this size because it fits on the top of the toilet tank for easy reading!

--Very funny with each type of poo hilariously described in 1/2 to 1 page of text. After that, the MD describes in 1/2 of a page of more serious description of the how's and why's.
There are simple outline drawings on every other page or so

--Scattered throughout are some "did you know's?" and "nuggets". Interesting facts, but by no means doctor-grade, hard-to-understand info.
Very funny and cute book.

Old university buddies Josh Richman and Anish Shesh deliver a riveting bathroom read for anyone, including those who never read in the bathroom (otherwise known as people who 'don't poo').

Filled with the most comprehensive explanations for every kind of stool imaginable, as well as an impressive variety of terms of endearment for all of them - What's Your Poo Telling You is undeniably, a masterpiece.

4 stars, not 5 - why? Well, there's always Shakespeare. But really, the only thing this book is missing is a nice roll of toilet tissue as a bonus with every purchase.

And for those people, who indeed don't poo - as someone once said, if you can't handle poo, you can't handle life.

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who thinks poo is funny. But this book is SO HILARIOUS that everyone who sees it can't stop talking about poo. It's fantastic!
