I love this book so much! The information is concise and clinically relevant! You really don't need much more and can't survive with less than this during intern year.

I carried this around in my pocket on my internal medicine rotation. It is not a pocket book but it just barely fit as long as I didn't try to put anything else in that pocket. It is handy and a good quick reference book. Not something you would want to study from or use as your primary textbook.

The Washington Manual is like a mini-DiPiro's. It is especially great because it is small enough to be carried in a backpack without the extra weight. The material inside is not too general yet not too overwhelming. Being a pharmacist that have been out of school for a few years, it is a great review of disease states. The book covers the pathophysiology and pharmacotherapy for each disease state.

I've had the PDA version of this book's 31st edition and I liked so much that when the 32nd edition came out I could not resist to buy the actual book. It is a great book for a quick review of many topics. I personally complement some of the topics with UptoDate and works great.

A "must have" for the medical practitioner's library. An easily accessible source of reference at the doctor's office or while doing rounds at the hospital. The edition is very much updated.

(Hide Review...)  Excellent but fragile

Excellent book from a trusted source! Could not ask for a more complete IM handbook. I like that it has a good balance between being very clinical and symptom-oriented vs. diagnosis-based.

Unfortunately, the book itself is very fragile. It used to come in a non-spiral bound version, but with more and more medical knowledge being added, it has since grown a lot thicker. I understand they have to use very thin paper and bind the book spirally to make the it portable, but with its intended use of being carried around as a reference at hand, I often soon find that the pages are coming off the binding. Also, the font is small and tiresome to read. I wish they would find a better paper and binding alternative, or come up with an e-book version so one has the option to print sections as needed.

(Hide Review...)  Very useful book

This book is really useful and contains a great deal of information regarding everything an IM student/resident would like to know. It's very well written, clear and concise. It has a big drawback though: it is big and heavy enough for not being comfortably put in your pocket, since it is considered a pocket book. If this is not a disadvantage for you it is a perfect companion for quick refence in theoretical and some practical stuff
