This market-leading text continues to provide both students and instructors with sound, consistently structured explanations of the mathematical concepts. Designed for a one- or two-term course that prepares students to study calculus, the new Seventh Edition retains the features that have made Precalculus a complete solution for both students and instructors: interesting applications, cutting-edge design, and innovative technology combined with an abundance of carefully written exercises.

I needed a math book and I found it in amazon.com! It was cheaper than the schools bookstore and kb books. It got to me right on time. Overall I have no complaints. It simply does its job and I'm satisfied with that.

I used Larson's Precalculus 6th edition which to my knowledge is not being sold anymore. I don't think much was changed from the 6th to the 7th editions so I feel I can offer a credible review of this 7th edition. The sections of each chapter are succint: to the point and coherently explained. Examples using the concepts explained immediately follow and end-of-chapter problems increase with difficulty to allow the learner to build confidence. The trigonometry sections cover exactly what you will encounter in Calculus, and is the best trigonometry curriculum I've ever used. You cannot go wrong buying this Precal book from Larson; I would also recommend the study guide and a Texas Instruments graphing calculator.

I bought this for two of my classes. Although the description talks about accessing Eduspace you should know that the passkey is NOT included with this product. You will have to spend an additional $67 on the Eduspace site to buy that passkey.

In many mathbooks, the writers/mathmeticians are quite useless when it comes to conveying how some function/theorem/problem works. They know how it works but they cant teach it; at least not in text. This one however... well however nothing. This is your quintisential mathbook.
Alright, it's not the worst thing that could happen to a student in pursuit of knowledge, but the book is a bit difficult to study from. I repeat - studying from this book is a problem in itself. I think this is mainly due to the fact that the example problems are not broken down enough or something; specifically in the trig section. My advice - get a tutor. This one however... well however nothing. This is your quintisential, uncommunicative, horribly written by disconnected writers, jungle of numbers mathbook.
It is next to impossible to study from. You may as well plan on getting a tutor, or be certain to write down every single thing your professor utters. The book barely serves as a reference manual; it hardly even breaks the problems down. As a result, a neophyte of trig and pre-calc, (like myself) may find much of this book to be incoherent math jargon. Obviously, eloquence is not (but should be) a requirement for a math book.
