The Irresistible Offer : How to Sell Your Product or Service in 3 Seconds or Less

Your customers are going to give you three seconds to make the sale.

Do you know what to say in those three seconds?

The marketing methods of the past are losing effectiveness as consumers are getting smarter and smarter and have less and less time. What is needed is a new way of doing business-a method that is simultaneously socially responsible and far more effective than "old" marketing. This new way is The Irresistible Offer.

"The Irresistible Offer is the missing link in many marketing books."
—Joe Sugarman, Chairman, BluBlocker Corporation

"The Irresistible Offer reveals secret after proven secret guaranteed to pump fresh power into your sales process."
—John Du Cane, CEO, Dragon Door Publications, Inc.

"As the world's fastest reader (Guinness Book certified) I've read just about every business and marketing book in existence. The Irresistible Offer by Mark Joyner is, by far, the easiest and most powerful. If you want to make a profitable business (any business small or large), The Irresistible Offer should be your starting point."
—Howard Berg, "The World's Fastest Reader"

"I've read every book on marketing printed in the last 150 years. This is the first breakthrough in over fifty years."
—Dr. Joe Vitale, author of The Attractor Factor

"If I had to choose one modern marketing genius to learn from, it would be Mark Joyner. The Irresistible Offer belongs in the hands of everyone wanting to wildly succeed in business."
—Randy Gilbert, a.k.a. "Dr. Proactive" host of The Inside Success Show

This book was a nice quick read and I am now a pro at using Kindle's notes and highlight tools. I walked away with a ton of new ideas to try out or scrap in favor of even greater ones. The important thing is this book actually got my mind revved up and throughout the entire read I found myself asking "How can I apply this idea" and coming up with all kinds of answers. A great source for inspiration and a pain free energetic read.

The title of the book is the only thing I found to be irresistable.
It did have some information but I just felt like it leaves you short. We all know that a good offer will get the phone ringing. Maybe I should use that title with my offers! Oh yeah maybe that was what he was saying. I got it now.

In one word, this book is POWERFUL!!! I thought Joseph Sugarman had the market on this type of material, but this book is the missing ingredient to writing POWERFUL Copy! Since I've read this book, my copy gets READ and ACTED upon IMMEDIATELY! And that's what I want. I'm grateful Amazon.com sent me an email mentioning to me that people who have purchased some of the other books I've purchased, have purchased this book too. And I'm glad to be numbered among those who have this book in their library. Bravo!, Mark.

(Hide Review...)  Better Title: It's coming, it's coming... there it went
Reviewer Permalink
First, let me say that there is a lot in this book to justify purchase. However, it never really tells you how to create an offer that will "... sell your product in 3 seconds or less."

In the early chapters the author keeps telling us about how he is going to tell us how to structure such an offer and the promise is that "it is coming." Unfortunately, it never really arrives. Then we move to the past tense much as George Carlin's definition of a "moment:"

"Here it comes. Wait for it. Wait for it. There it was."

Instead, we move on to other things relating to the irresistible offer. Now, these other ideas have merit, but the title is pure hype.

The author sent us one example - Domino's Pizza - and promised others. Unlike Dominos, he did not deliver. (Pun intended.)

The Author has offered, in a very timid and unassuming way A TRUE MASTERPIECE.

The book looks poor, the text looks scarce.........still what he tells you can be translated IMMEDIATELY INTO REAL GOLD.
In a world where all are Internet "gurus", in a world populated by people who pose as "experts", you find this gem, written by somebody who does not speak at length because HE LAYS DOWN HARD FACTS one after the other, with no mumbo jumbo to confuse and flourish the concepts.

And this is perfectly in character: in fact he tells you that THIS IS THE WAY MARKETING SHOULD BE, barebone, quintessential VALUE AND BENEFIT, immediately and elementarly communicated in a few words.

It helped me to open a sales marketing letter in a way that does not sound like "marketing jargon", overloaded, boastful, bombasting.
No. It helped me to write an opening in just 4 lines, BUT THOSE FOUR LINES ARE CATCHING PEOPLE'S ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY, because they are spelling out the magical elements that Marc Joyner so beautifully illustrates in this book.
And those four lines are HONEST, TRUE, BELIEVABLE SUBSTANCE.
People notice that, that's why they read the remaining of my sales letter.

Had I applied the concepts of the other "gurus" I would have created a castle of cards, I would have alerted potential buyers: "Hey, I am trying to sell you something...and I don't care if I sell you something of value, something you need. All I care is to confuse you so much to buy my stuff"

People are not at all stupid. Marc Joyner addresses this SUPERBLY.
I AM GLAD I BOUGHT THIS BOOK!!!

(Hide Review...)  Told me everything that The Irresistible Offer isn't, but didn't share enough examples of what it is
Reviewer Permalink
I've read a lot of business books over the past year, trying to market my landscaping business and figure out how to better serve my customers. This book has a great premise, but unfortunately didn't really deliver. I've gotten more out of the first chapter of a Zig Ziglar book I am also reading than I did out of this entire book.

The author tells us the four (very basic) things that The Irresistible Offer is, and then tells us for the rest of the book what it is not. What I really expected was practical help in crafting my own Irresistible Offer!

Sometimes in books, that help comes from using such varied examples that I can't help but see my own business in those examples, but the author here kept repeating (over and OVER) about how Domino's Pizza has the ultimate IO. I kept wondering if I had flipped open to the wrong page after seeing the same example stressed in the same way so many times. I get why their example is great, now how about some examples from other industries?

My issue with a lot of the advice, too, is that it mostly wasn't applicable to my product. I am used to scrounging through the sales advice for people selling widgets to find the advice for people selling their expertise, but this book was more unbalanced than others in that way, and I felt really frustrated that I was spending so much time on this book for so little practical return. I felt like I was trusting the author to deliver on his implied promise to help me craft my own IO, but he never really came through for me.

The concepts that I could apply to my business were almost all ones that I have read before.

If you are kind of new to selling your own product, you have total control over marketing and pricing decisions, and your product is one that there isn't a lot of overhead invested in each one, then this will probably be a very helpful book for you. If you sell your time or expertise, or are part of a sales force and do not have direct control over marketing, or have read a lot of business books, then I think you can skip this one. Go for something by Dan Kennedy (entrepreneurship) or Zig Ziglar (sales) instead.

Very simple and basic approach, but very correct at the same time. It's better to create an irresistible offer than to go for voodoo advertising that doesn't work in the short run, but supposedly will work if you keep at it long enough. In my experience good ideas show results very quickly. And this book very clearly explains how to work out good ideas and apply them.

Mark Joyner's "Irresistible Offer" is one of the best summaries for the new sales person I have ever heard! Every time you go through it, you learn much more, because there is so much in there you cannot get it all in one reading! He gives details as to what an Irresistible Offer contains, and many well-known examples of how it worked with companies most readers will be familiar with.

This book is highly recommended! I personally got the audio version (unabridged), read by Rick Joyner himself. That way I can just lean back and absorb the wisdom this awesome book pours out. You should take Rick up on his offer to teach you how to present the Irresistible Offer to your customers!

(Hide Review...)  Reference guide - MBA Marketing
Reviewer Permalink
I have not read what others have to say about this book. But this book helps me a lot by saving lot of marketing research time. First of all just reading the book won't help, you need to have a product or service of your own where you can implement the ideas of this book. What's more, you would be able to generate more ideas from within while you are reading this book.

If you are just reading this book without any product or service (just in case you bought this book by getting persuaded by the Title) you would get ideas to try something of your own. Which means that the opportunities are unlimited and the book motivates you to an extent that you get creative and try things.

This book fills up the gap between the knowledge of a practicing Marketing MBA and a business man who is just doing business on hit and trial basis. In simple terms, buy this book, use the step by step ideas and grow your business.

About the "3 seconds", I am not so sure about that probably because, though I am an MBA in Marketing but my area is mainly Online Promotions and Activities. 3 seconds for me is the time that my web page takes before it downloads. I am using it as a reference guide. The author is credible because of his connection with ICQ and eBook trends that he started.

I have read so far the only two third of the book and am already giving a 5 star because this book is much worth than the cost of the book for me. I have no marketing experience, except that I have been selling my products on my own to people I meet on cash and check basis. Since I am shifting my business to Internet I bought this book so I can start my on-line business with a sound plan. I think he's a good writer in that he can explain the concepts very well in a plain English even I can understand well (English is my second language).

I think this is a good book for people with high motivation like myself and already have good products or services and ready to sell but not completely sure on what exactly to do.

In the next few months I will be implementing the content of this book, and if I see PROFIT I will come back here to add more comments.

One cannot forget, though, that books or instructions does not guarantee the results and we are the ones responsible for the results of whatever we do.

I have to chime in and add my voice to those singing the praises of this invaluable marketing book by Mark Joyner.

While some of the material may seem very familiar to you (especially if you've read or heard any online interviews with Mr. Joyner) it's how it's broken down and explained in easy to understand steps that makes this book an absolute must read book for anyone wanting to learn how to market in powerful and profound ways.

As someone else mentioned in a previous review, the book cover and title itself are the living embodiment of what the book teaches. At first when I read the title I didn't believe anyone could sell a product or service in 3 seconds or less but I'll be damned if this book doesn't do that. Dominos Pizza certainly did it and I dare say Google, NetFlix and TiVo do it as well. In fact, TiVo doesn't even have to say anything to sell itself. Just watch anyone use TiVo and you're sold on it.

Prior to reading this book I vaguely understood marketing. Since reading this book, I've begun my own efforts to create an Irresistible Offer with my site at Zentimental.com. If I succeed, it'll be because of the insights Mark Joyner first opened my eyes to in this book.

This audio book was really a waste of time and money! This wasn't complete garbage, but I don't see how it would be of value to the novice or the pro. I'm sure Mark is a good guy and knows about marketing, but I found little value in this and I'm in sales. It came across as a way for him to make money selling this book and was mostly just "fluff". He made a few good points, but nothing new here unless you are a novice. I am going too sell it to a used book store. Do you want to buy it?

(Hide Review...)  How could two be right and seventy be wrong?
Reviewer Permalink
This book caught my eye, first because of the title, but then more because of the glowing praise and overwhelming number of positive reviews. At the time I purchased this from Amazon, out of 72 ratings, there were 65 four- or five stars and only two with one star. How could two people be right and so many others wrong?

Joyner covers most of the basic marketing tips you would expect to find. But contrary to claims that this book "reveals secret after proven secret guaranteed to pump fresh power into your sales process", I can't think of a single suggestion here that hasn't already appeared in a half dozen other books.

I at least expected a breakdown of the factors that make an "irresistible offer". Joyner does that, though in a disorganized and repetitive way. For example, "believability" is the third main element, even though "why you should trust us" is already a sub-component of element number two. Even the three main company slogans Joyner uses as great examples of the irresistible offer all lack in at least one of the supposedly essential elements.

It's one thing to do a retrospective look at three hugely successful marketing slogans and try to shoehorn them into your pet theory, and another to provide practical examples of how to actually craft a brand new "irresistible offer" from scratch. There are hundreds of struggling companies or dying products out there that Joyner could have drawn from. I would have loved to have seen a step by step example of creating a specific irresistible offer for any one of them. Unfortunately there are only vague generalities.

Then there are glaringly simple math errors. Joyner describes a rate of 1.01 (by which he really means a 1% increase rate) that "increases by just 0.3 percent" to a rate of 1.31 (which in reality is a 31% increase rate). But what Joyner is calling "just" a tiny 0.3 percent increase in the rate is actually a whopping 30-fold, or 3000 percent increase! Is it any surprise the final outcome of this example mushrooms from about 12,000 all the way to two million?

But what prompted me to put this book down on page 197 and write this review is Joyner's adolescent preoccupation with sexual references. I overlooked his first few references to the oldest profession and their "irresistible offers". But then Joyner actually embeds inappropriate sexual references into his theory, as in "measuring the effectiveness of my campaigns by, for lack of a better term, "The Copulation Rate"." Ah, Mark, if you had consulted any other marketing book, you would have found out there is no lack of a better word. It's called the "Conversion Rate". And did Joyner really need to repeat copulation at least 15 times (yes, I counted). Maybe he used this word to distract people from the math errors (yes, same section). The word doesn't even make sense used in a biological analogy, since copulation is basically "sowing the seeds", and the desired outcome or conversion would be a birth or successful reproduction (unless, of course, copulation, and not successful reproduction, is the ultimate goal). I had to wonder, who he was marketing this book to, teenage boys looking to get lucky? My patience ended on page 197 when Joyner chose to use this personal example: "Hi, my name is Mark Joyner, and I'll have sex with you in 30 minutes or less or it's free."

If Joyner somehow redeems himself on the last nine pages I'll never know. But if he is the marketing expert he claims to be, does he really expect people to use this book in any professional or reputable business environment? I'm trying to imagine an account manager with his sales team. "Jill and Sharon, let's discuss the Wentworth account, and how we can apply Mark Joyner's marketing strategy. What's our (for lack of a better word) copulation rate this week?"

You've read it all before. It's a decent read until the last third which is full of yada, yada, yada. If you've read a few marketing books you'll find little new here. To his credit the author offers a read of fair pace and some insight into the marketing tactics employed by some of the big players. To readers new to this genre there is something to be gained from this book, but the "3 seconds" in the title is a deceptive ploy to get you to buy the book in 3 seconds.

Reviewer Permalink
Mark Joyner, whether teaching you how to market via word of mouth, how to improve your personal performance via simpleology courses, or just giving you general insight into life, is successful for one reason: honesty. His honesty and integrity allows him to see that which others who try to manipulate and control miss. And isn't that the secret to success? How many people ever desire to come back to a business, company, even person or individual who is phony? One who attempts to draw you in with deception and then does the bait and switch. Warren Buffett--he of multi-billions, the great investor--said that a major factor in choosing companies to invest in is based on whether or not you like the company enough (read people) to work there. Well, Mark Joyner is one of those people many enjoy working with. Because of his honest, straight forward approach.

The Irresistible Offer is certainly that: honest. Even though it has its flaws--excessive examples, repetition, and at times, opaque theory--it is a book that truly displays the genius and great insight of its author. And you've got to believe (all you The Secret people) that if you seek the truth, the truth will seek you. Herein lies Joyner's gift.

I once read a sales letter of Joyner's that hit to the core, issues I had been having in acquiring all-things-marketing to get my business going. He mentioned how marketers are charging hundreds of dollars for a "box full of 'secrets' that is nothing more than some low-quality audio recordings and poorly edited transcripts?" And how important it is that "A transformation of spirit without a direction and a clear plan might bring you happiness for a while, but if that happiness is not reinforced by real change in the real world, it is always short lived"? Personally, I have chosen to avoid many schemes, internet marketers, and plans or bonus-encrusted list blasts because "quality and value is more important to" me, as Joyner states.

The book certainly has its more general philosophies, but it also gets into enough specifics on Word of Mouth and how to use it in your business to give the reader his money's worth . . . and then some. Great ROI, wouldn't you say Mark? Get it. It's worth every penny.

I'll save you irreplaceable time and hard-earned money - don't click 'add to cart!'

This "book" could be reduced to a few typed up pages of text - but they spaced it way out (huge margins, small pages, big type) to bulk it up into a waste of space book.

The content is unoriginal, nothing not seen in most other marketing-rich-quick books, and 52 pages of about 200 are dedicated to Domino's Pizza and how wonderful it is. (are we done yet?)

And the $397 worth of surprises? Mostly more get-rich-quick 'e-books' with actual retail values set by the AUTHORS! or MP3s of this wizard pontificating about topics he has little insight about. Yawn.

I'd send it back if I could. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

The Irresistible Offer is an excellent book that teaches the nuts and bolts of putting together a product and brand message. It explains how you can refine your product's message into a 3-second touchstone that conveys the features and benefits of your product to prospective customers at a glance.

The psychology and theory behind this book is excellent. I would recommend it as an addition to any marketer's library.

The title itself is an excellent example of "the irresistible offer." The "3 seconds or less" refers to the amount of time you have with a prospect to get and capture their attention. However, the way the title of the book is written, you could interpret it to mean it will only take you 3 seconds or less to learn how to sell your product. Now that's great copywriting! And for anyone who wants to succeed in business, this book is a great reference. Buy it. Read it. Apply the lessons. And succeed. Even after nearly 30 years in advertising, I learned from this book.

If you're concerned about positioning -- about setting your product or service apart and connecting with your prospects, customers and clients where they live, then you simply must get this book. Read it and apply it to your individual situation.

There's so much marketing information and help out there that it's hard to know who to listen to.

This should be a staple in everyone's library. There is no doubt THE IRRESISTABLE OFFER by Mark Joyner will make you a better writer and/or salesperson. In fact, this book will make you better at a lot of things even above and beyond the business world.

I didn't make a lot of notes in this book, but certainly learned more than I thought I would. I believe this is a book you will have to read more than once to fully absorb. The book also comes with free software and audio material that I have not yet downloaded, but if it is of the same or similar quality as the lessons of the book, I'm sure it will be invaluable.

One of my favorite parts of the book was the last chapter where Joyner talks about applying what we learn. I can't agree more with this. So many people believe all they have to do is read and learn. Without practical application (yeah, that means you've actually got to get off your toocus and change something about yourself), all the reading and learning is moot.

The last half of the book is geared towards internet marketing and some of it was difficult for me to follow. Another reason why I will definitely go back and reread this one. Joyner's writing style is, as expected, great. This is not a book I would recommend without a good understanding of sales and writing. If this were the first book you ever read in these categories you would probably come away thinking you knew a lot more than you actually do. Bone up on basics before you go for the gusto.

Although Mark Joyner has picked an important topic to discuss his book is little more than a marketing primer or refresher. The book falls short (in my opinion) on the actual process for creating the irresistible offer and simply skims over the basic concepts behind it. I'm not sure who he has targeted as his audience because it is cleary neither the novice who needs detailed guidance, nor the expert who needs advanced guidance - "The Irresistible Offer" seems to fall squarely in the middle due to its lack of real "meat and potatoes" content.

If you are looking for solid guidance in the "how" of creating your irresistible offer, you will not find it here. However, you will find food for thought and a very sound introduction to the many aspects of creating and delivering a powerful marketing message.

I helped Mark promote this book a while
back and everyone that got it raved about it.
So, I went and picked it up for myself.

It's really good.

I was reasonably satisfied, but actually most information is already known as basic marketing techniques. There are some good Ideas that aren't new, but are worth trying again and this book does remind you what is important in knowing the highlights of your product and how it can be matched to a known target group. I am not sorry I have it as it will always be a good reference.

I have purchased and read many books on business from marketing to advertising and this is BY FAR MY FAVORITE!!!. Why? Simple, it gets right to the point, is an easy read (so many authors to me overwrite and end up making you read irrelevent or cumbersome material) and most important gives you real world example of how the big/successful companies use marketing effectively. What I really like is that you don't need to be a fortune 500 company to use this authors ideas. From a mom and pop store to a huge company all his material applies. You won't regret this purchase.

The real money maker is creating a product to tell you about ellusive, greyware tactics to creating something but never giving you clear ideas of how to do so.

Confused?

After reading this book, it reminded me of the Rich Dad Poor Dad series.

Meaning, I was excited to do something but I had no real idea of where to start. Everything in this book talked in vaporware levels. Thinking about things. Some examples. But much like the Rich Dad series, it didn't help me trade or organize my finances.

It goes to talk about how the Irresistible Offer is more than just a USP (unique selling proposition). But it never tells you how to stand out or how to start thinking along the lines of...

"What do I offer that makes my pitch irresistible?"

That takes some deep thinking and understanding of your product from a consumer perspective.

There's no checklists or helpful hints on how to get your mind into that mode.

At the end of this book I would have expected to have an Irresistible Offer drawn out. Or at least a USP.

All I got was verbage telling me I should have it by now.

Huh? I bought a book on what it is and how to create it and yet I don't have a better clue then when I started.

This wasn't a book that I had to have in order to market successfully.

There's many other books that really help you get on track and focused.

You can skip this one.

Reviewer Permalink
I took the trouble to refund the book because its contents can be put in mere three lines:
To make your offer irresistible,
- give your customer a high value (in terms of price vs. usefulness), and
- tell it in a short, memorable and believable way.

But you already knew that, didn't you? If you didn't, I've got a bridge to sell you. Besides, Mark's promise of additional Internet value for buyers of the book is a crude hoax. So I wonder - who are those "excited" reviewers here who, after allegedly reading this opus, convinced me that the book is worth looking into?

Now, Marks' second book - The Great Formula, is better. Not because he wrote it so, but because it is a collection of essays written by his pals who "give great value" to the goofs on the Internet. Worth reading just not to be one.

I hate reading books where the author was obviously given a page count to live up to. This book is not like that. When the author is finished telling you something, he doesn't repeat it in five different wasy just to have a bigger book. The Great Formula is an excellent simplification of much marketing writing today:

1) Create The Irresistible Offer
2) Present it to a Thirsty Crowd
3) Sell them a Second Glass

This model is simple and yet deep. Many small businesses, my past business included, sell to a customer with no plan for how they will bring value to that customer in the future - the Second Glass.

I love simplicity that works and this book is a powerful example of that.

Normally I'm a huge fan of Mark Joyner but I didn't get full value from this book. I found the concepts were bang on and the information was clear but there wasn't anything I hadn't heard before. Now I have to admit that I am a prolific reader and it probably isn't fair to expect something new on such a widely written topic. And it could have been just poor timing on my part as the information didn't match up with where my business is right now. Like I said earlier I'm a fan of Mark's and read his advice in his daily ezine constantly and will probably buy his next book too.

I have been in the process of reading and re-reading this book for about 7 months now!

Sometimes a topic like creating offers for your products seems like a simple thing to experienced marketers. In my case, although I've been involved in marketing for years, I had to constantly go back and review the book to make sure that I was actually understanding it as it was meant to be used.

There were some exciting ideas that I could use right away...and some that I am just now grasping after having made a few attempts at using the strategies contained within it.

If you purchase this book, I'd suggest you make sure to take the free course that's included by the author...because it will guide you along and transform your thoughts on marketing forever!

OUTSTANDING book! Mark provides very practical examples of promoting your product or service...It is easy to read and there is plenty of white spaces on each page. This makes it easy for any type of notation and ease of use of the highlighter...I read the book in one sitting while awaiting my delayed flight and I was excited after reading the book and I was not upset with the delayed flight...The only section I disliked in the book was the section on magic BUT I understand his viewpoint of why he wrote about magic...Buy a copy and see how you can profit rather quickly and learn about magic.

I never thought I'd give a book a zero, however, believe me in this case I'd make an exception. I bought this book because I have never seen a book with better reviews . . . all by the top guns in the field. I have a heavy background in direct marketing myself and assure you that the reviewers all have top notch materials themselves. Nevertheless, this book stinks. It promises you the world and then delivers nothing.

It is inundated with cute litte single sentence paragraphs that tell you virtually nothing! He uses a bunch of abbreviations of his own that are difficult to follow.

I can tell you another thing. I have been involved in the publishing business for years and can safely say that if you wrote this clunker (and yes I mean word for word) nobody would touch it with a ten foot printing press. Save your money.

The only reason I would tell you to thumb through the book is to get the names of the reviewers in the front of the book -- again all top notch folks -- and purchase their fine materials instead.

I bought this book because I have read article written by Mark before. He is an excellent writer and very clearly presents difficult information. He goes above and beyond on this book. It was hard to put down even when it was 1 am. I have read it once and put it aside for a few days to digest all that he gives you. I have it on my calendar to pick up and reread again next week. It may take a time or two through the book to truly get it (and by get it I mean absorb it, believe it and implement it). He provides concrete examples, concise practical laws of marketing and business building. An excellent read and worth multiples to your business if you implement even 1/100th of the information he provides.

I consider myself a marketing expert. I've built two hugely successful million-dollar mail order companies within just a few years and thought I knew ever trick in the book from Gary Halbert to Dan Kennedy.

And I found a new gem in this book!

There wasn't anything "new" per se but the way the author had "updated" the importance of marketing techniques was a refreshing polish on things that have gotten dusty over the past few decades. His point of view has been welcomed and long-needed in direct response.

He actually includes testing examples that he's done. For instance he tested using the "7" which is Ted Nicholas' marketing trick from eons ago. He gives you information on when he tested the $99 price-point versus $95 and $97. He give you exact figures on which pulled the most. Many other authors who talk about the "7s" will tell you that they pull more but never give actual figures on which pulls the most, probably because they've never done a real-life test themselves.

This book focuses on the "offer" and the "benefits" to the customer. As broad as that may seem this author seems to get deep into the nitty-gritty on EXACTLY how to push people's buttons to get people to buy.

And within 3 seconds.

And he does it in a fun, easy-to-follow, lightning fast manner that makes reading the book cover-to-cover a snap.

All of the traditional marketing "secrets" are brought up to the 21st century standards. There is so much information that bombards people everyday that you have to HIT PEOPLE QUICKLY AND HIT 'EM HARD. Other marketing books by the greats are outdated because of that huge main fact. Life isn't the same as it was before the Internet. Therefore we have LESS TIME to get people's attention.

This book is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for those of you who have studied Dan Kennedy, Ted Nicholas, Gary Halbert, Jeff Paul, or any of the other marketing greats. This is an UPDATE for the 21st century and is VERY NECESSARY if you are going to sell things to people who are becoming desensitized to advertising.

And if you think you're a marketing expert, you need this book EVEN MORE!

Isn't it the truth that those of us who think we know so much about marketing that we tend to "lock out" new discoveries (or forget about the "oldies" but goodies)...and then we become dinosaurs (perhaps as Dan Kennedy and others have become)?

And that's why, as a marketing expert, you need this book more than anyone else...BECAUSE YOU NEED A BLOCK OF WOOD TO KNOCK YOU UPSIDE YOUR HEAD! As a marketer you can NEVER think you are an expert because the world is changing too much!

HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I will even go so far as to say that this is one of the TOP 5 marketing books out there! And that's saying a lot from someone who has most every marketing book there is!

I found this book really enlightening, both from a business and a personal perspective. Mark's writing style is relaxed and friendly which made the book an easy read. It is also very clear - no room for ambiguity. I especially liked his comment on Think and Grow Rich - it has certainly made me think about reading a book versus acting on the information shared in the book.
