a fine book with fine info.But i expected a little more from this book.But anyway a good book

Quite an interesting book.Contains some useful information on how to use Adsense.Would have been great if there weren't many lengthy descriptions.

I had high hopes for this book and it did deliver some gems. But it was NOT enough inside info, especially for a book called the "Adsense Code".
It is a pity because Joel is clearly a smart guy who knows the subject he is talking about nevertheless he shares just the tip of the iceberg with the reader.

I'VE READ MORE THEN A FEW BOOKS ON ADSENSE IN THE PAST AND NOTHING REALLY WOW'ED ME IN THIS BOOK. I WOULD SAY THIS BOOK IS GEARED MORE TOWARD BEGINNERS, OR PEOPLE JUST STARTING OUT WITH ADSENSE

The title is GREAT, and the book was good overall. There was a lot of self promotion but hey we all got to eat :-)

*Joel Comm has help me to make money online with adsense. In fact, this is the first book I read on adsense.
* No stone left unturned. Joel describe briefly how you can make pure profit from adsense even though you are just started.
* If you ever need a book on adsense, this is the book you must have in your collection.

I purchased Joel's book after reading "Blogging Heroes" and am glad that I did. Now here's the tough part of the review. When I read the book my first impression was that the suggestions were obvious and overly simplistic. Then it occurred to me that I wasn't doing any of the things that Joel suggested. Partly out of frustration and partly to try and get my money's worth, I spent this last Sunday morning implementing some of the suggestions on one of my sites. Within hours with no other changes to my site, the click-through rates doubled. My channels were restructured to show what was actually going on and they confirmed what Joel already knew...inline ads work better, link units work better and my sidebar ads are all but ignored. More importantly, i have more ad placements than I had with less visible impact on my site and now I have the new Google search features implemented as well.

I've implemented the changes on two more of my sites and next i'm going to start experimenting with the keyword optimization techniques that Joel suggests.

Don't underestimate this book...Joel knows his stuff!

No matter with you are on old adsense user or a new one ! Joel"s book has importants tips to help you begin or increase your revenue with Adsense.

In my case, for example, I increase my revenues in about 50% after read the book. And I'm sure you can do the same.

This book, The AdSense Code, by Joel Comm is actually a pretty good book. Certainly, using it, I must say that it has helped me w/ my Google revenues. It's paid for itself. I can recommend it! One thing, he does hype his products in it, but so what... if it helps... So, buy the book -- it'll pay for itself and for once, one of these kinds of books is really worth buying.

its worth every penny. starts very simple and covers everything and the most complex tracking methods you will need. it was published a couple years ago, so although not completely current, a great base for anyone looking to make up for lost time and start making cash now.

The content of this book is all that I hoped it would be. I hate choosing a book that leads you nowhere and is full of fluff. This book is not. It is very well laid out and you'll be highlighting all over the place. It seems to get right to the nitty gritty. Count this one as a user's guide to Adsense.

This is a very helpful book and there are plenty of valuable tips that make it a worthy investment. I don't understand some of the negative reviews, perhaps these readers were expecting the Holy Grail.

I have read tons of books on online markting. Joel Comm has done an EXCELLENT job at putting together a real clear and well written guide on how to leverage AdSense.

I read Joels other books on Adsense as well and
this one goes into some more in depth detail on
certain aspects of Adsense. I recommend it and give
it four stars.

I enjoyed this book and definitely learned things I did not know about optimizing page layouts and ad styles on web pages. The author also provides a lot of links and information about tools that can be used to manage and monitor your adSense account. The only slightly negative thing to say is the author spends quite a bit of time advertising his own products, but hey we live in a capitalist system. This book was worth the money.

Joel Comm has a "way with words" that makes it easy to understand and follow. AdSense is in the forefront of Marketing Online and Joel explains it so that anyone can follow, and be able to take on the "giants"! As they say: Go For It!!

I loved this book. Many books that I get on any "how to" basis usually LACKS information or stuffs it with irrelevant "fluff" just to fill the pages. This book isn't one of those (thankfully).

From the beginning Joel Comm's writing style makes seemingly difficult and somewhat technical Internet stuff easy. I have the aptitude of a tadpole and yet I was able to hang in there, as intimidating as it first seemed to be, and actually fully understand how to go about this AdSense thing.

My only concern is that there are so many people making money doing this...Is there any more room for newcomers? This book was published in 2006. No, it's not outdated (that I know of). However, so much changes so quickly online. Joel Comm starts off by saying that he figured out how to crack the AdSense Code and start making $600 PER DAY from Google. Does that still apply today? Right now?

Also, I notice that it will take awhile to "build up" your content-rich website for Google AdSense and THEN you'll want to submit them to the search engines (rather than waiting for them to "crawl" on their own) and sometimes it takes a few months for the engines to "catch on." So, I'm imagining that most people will get impatient and think the the AdSense program doesn't work or something.

Plus, you have to be a writer. If you cannot write content (and good content at that) then this isn't going to work for you. Most people cannot write a decent email let alone a content-rich site on a topic that people are interested in. Furthermore, when you write your site you have to be grammically correct and actually look professional otherwise people will quickly move on.

(Sadly) in our near-illiterate society, creating your own content-rich sites in your own words can be difficult for most people.

i loooved this book. it's a quick read with tons of usefull info. for the person who said google provides all this information - last time i checked, google did not provide a complete list of online tools (outside of their own) to help you analyze, track, and change. this book is your one stop source if you are serious about adsense.

Comm's book unlike the title suggests - provides no more and in many ways less and certainly outdated strategies for making money with AdSense. I would recommend people ignore the many biased reviews - who are these people anyway? These glowing reviews read like they were manufactured by a motivational seminar writer! If this self promotion is obvious to you, save your money! My free advice: simply go to the Google AdSense page, read everything, then Google AdSense and read more analysis and best practices... and you will have a better path to riches than this or any book could possibly provide.

I read the book in an afternoon, made a list of tips that were appropriate for my website and applied them to 10 high traffic pages of our 900 page website. My Adsense revenue doubled. I am slowly going through and applying the tips to every page and the revenue keeps growing.

Sure, you can sift through thousands of posts on Adsense forums to get these tips, you can also sit and do your own A/B tests with color combinations, format sizes, placement, etc...
Or you can buy this book.

The book is a bit heavy on the self promotion and you don't *need* any of the tools that the author is pushing.
What you do need is a functioning website with good content and lots of traffic for this book to work.

I'm giving the book five stars only because it is the first book in a long time that has put money directly in my pocket.

You will get better information by just doing a little research yourself. I found this to be a "fluff" book so to speak. Large print, many blank pages between chapters, and the same points scattered throughout the text to fill it out. You will learn something perhaps, but save money and put an Ad sense search in Google and you will get better and more timely information. Believe me, they are not hiding information from you as the title implies.

I had attempted Adsense before reading Joel's book hoping that
the help section and internet searches would provide the answers, but
when I look back at the early stages of my internet development,
I realized what a time waster that is, and decided at that point on

Joel is certainly one of the best people in this particular Internet marketing sector. It is only useful to people interested in income through Google Adsense. That said, it is very useful to those people.

I expected more from this book, without a doubt there is some valuable information but I did expect "secrets" that aren't already out there.

This book is great! It really shows you step by step methods of how to create Adsense-rich website.

Excellent read, I actually read this book in about a day. Joel has an excellent approach to making money online with adsense. All of his lessons are super simple but require work, which is where most people fall down. Read this book very carefully, along with a can do attitude and you wil make passive income with adsense. The only gripe I have with the book is the Author trys to sell his other products too much, just try to ignore this bit :)

The AdSense Code provides about half a dozen simple good ideas on how to juice up AdSense ads on a website or blog. Most of the tips are available from the AdSense tutorial provided by Google. The few unique tips do help. I personally wouldn't recommend this book except to people who find it easier to read a book rather that read the online tutorial.

One tip from the book is to make your AdSense ad look as much like your weblog as possible. People try to ignore ads and this way you may get more "clicks".

This is an easy and fun read. There isn't anything in the book that you can't immediately put into practice (as long as you have a website).

The knowlege contained in this book can be found in nooks and crannies throughout the Internet, and Joel has done the work of gathering and testing it for you already.

There are spelling and grammer errors, yet not enough to distract from the purpose of the book.

A glossary and index would have added to the value of the book as a reference.

The AdSense Code delivers exactly the content as promised. For design suggestions and developing a plan of attack for incorporating adsense - or any ad types really - this is a great resource. A lot of the information is available on the web at no cost, but it is collected here in one convenient resource and is worth the cost for most people.

This booked helped me start making make small money of my current site within the first month. I really find another good source to help start then continue to update using the advise the author provides. I would recommend this book to all readers; the beginners will get a good idea of how Adsense works in a practical sense and start using the code in the book to start, although note you need to have a Adsense account to get paid or else someone will be paid for your clicks, more advance users can see how to better measure what is working on the site to fine tune the site, url and links.
This book explains the method to make money using your web site clicks and briefly explains how to get people on your site, it is not a book on how to create and promote your site.
If you want to make money on your site then you should use this a reference.

I've spent thousands (ok probably tens of thousands) of dollars on information about how to make money online. If you're like me, you already know that 99% of the stuff out there is garbage.

This book is different. Google is obviously a real website with a real opportunity. Joel simply shows how to capitalize on that opportunity.

If you have an existing website, AdSense is a REAL way to monetize the content you are already providing. It's not a matter of smoke and mirrors, its just a matter of knowing how to use AdSense in the right way to squeeze the most income out of your pages.

As for some of the comments I've seen about "filler" content... I wouldn't call it that. Sure there's a good 30-40% that is covering fundamentals that would not be new to experienced AdSense publishers... but that is stuff that new AdSense publishers need to know. Plus that leaves a big % of "advanced" technique content which is covered in this book.

Also I saw someone mention about how it seemed to be a lot of self-promotion. I could see how it would seem that way, but here's the thing... He is showing REAL LIFE examples of money-making websites. Most guru's are afraid to show you their REAL sites because they're scammers or because they won't reveal their true secrets. Joel puts it all out there. Also I'd estimate over half the examples are his STUDENT's sites, not his...

Over all I'd say the book lives up to its name. Not the kind of thing I'd want to cozy up and read for fun by the fire on a cold day, but if you're looking for easy-to-digest info about how to monetize websites, this is a good pick.

This text was good in providing elementary facts of adsense. Most of the content is filler, though. It's published on cheap, thick paper. I implemented several things, though.

A friend in my Adsense Symposium Group of 5 Google Adsters suggested this book. I immedtiately ordered it from Amazon who just now asked for my opinion on the book. My motivation in buying the book was that if I get just One idea it will be worth the price of the book.It was.

I redesigned some of my bigger my pages and my sales are already up 20% for July. I have only redone some of my pages so far but I will apply it to all pages. I have underlined the highlights of the enitre book for quick reference I x'd out the useless stuff. I can refer to the good stuff quickly from time to time. Joel uses a lot of filler and links to many other ad marketiers to make his book look big like a reference book. There is no index in the back. Getting anyone to tell you the really skinny on how to make money is hard to find. Of course I am on Joels newsletter list. Most of his information so far has been to get you to link to other pages whe he can get a posible hit. I can't blame him for that. All I did was pay for the book. I have also learned frOM another adster Seth Godin on Permission Marketing. His 1999 book is not new. I am developing www.NelsonsNewsletter.com as a free daily newsletter for those who want to pick my brain to see what I am writing about. It is for my own back up permission marketing pgoram to tie in with Joel Comm's marketing thoughts. My newsletter will be an experiment with sending daily multiple types of info.Check the web for the content. Probably only half of it will be of interest to anyone it is being sent to but the website explains that and if you can find an email that is worthwhile every other day you are in good shap. . I wrote a detailed criticism/ critique of this book, but it didn't get published...??? So here's my concise re-review: The authour spends far too much time plugging his own web sites and software than giving deep suggestions and information. This book may be ok for novices w/ AdSense: a few good tidbits here and there, but frankly, you can get far better, far more reliable and far more UNBIASED information from Google's AdSense homepage and the myriad blogs etc. on AdSense. I'm very suprised that the overall feedback for this book was as high as it is! Save yourself the money, go to the source at Google directly.

If you already operate a website and/or and adsense account, this book show you how to increase your earnings. Although he brags about making $600 a day with adsense, very few of us will make more than a couple of bucks. This book does show you how to optimize your ads to increase click through rates but the biggest part in making money with adsense is having lots of traffic enter your website. This book mentions very little about how to make that happen and mainly just recommends other sources that you should buy (which cost several hundred dollars). And unless you are a great webmaster, you might as well just forget it.

This one is a bit more advanced than Eric Giguere's book, but it's worth the price to add it to your AdSense library. Between the two books, if you have the content on your website or blog and you follow their advice, you will earn money. And what could possibly be better than earning money for nothing?

Rush right out and buy this book.
