I am a new beader, so this is new for my growing library of beading books. The projects look to be well explained and seem to go from beginner to advanced beader. I would recommend it to beginners especially.

I ordered both this book and another jewelry book and I waited for it to arrive and after it was a week late I called and talked to a customer service person who was extremely helpful. She immediately sent out a replacement order which arrived within 2-3 days. I was very happy with the service I got in fixing the problem. I just received the 3rd book that was not available when I ordered the other 2 books and it just arrived ahead of schedule. I had only ordered from Amazon once before and again had great service and received the book very quickly. I will use amazon to order other books that I cannot get localy as long as the service continues.

Excellent book for a beginning "beader" like me! Great instructions are enhanced by clear illustrations!

Pedestrian is a lot better word for this book than brilliant. These are very easy projects that can be found in many other books. Most of the appealing pieces were for reference only, meaning there were no instructions. Also seed bead sizes and thread lengths are given in metric measurements, not six, eleven, fifteen, etc. for seed beads and inches or feet for other measurements. The one bracelet I did make had a mistake in the directions, but the diagrams were accurate and I was able to finish the bracelet. It was a disappointing piece, that I would only be pleased with if it was the first thing I ever made. So once again, I have added to the large collection of bead books I own that got great reviews and turned out to be a major disappoinment. I am cancelling the second brilliance book.

The book has clear instructions and figures that are easily followed. I made a few things as quick and easy Christmas presents and they were a hit....but, I was mislead by the cover photo. Every photo you see has instructions in the book except the one I bought the book for. It is the one on the front cover, third photo from the left. I was VERY disappointed the instructions for that project were not actually in the book!

I was excited to buy this book per the other remarks regarding it. I had not seen the book in person and decided it was worth it because I had seen the blue piece with the pearls made up and it was lovely. Anyway, I ordered the book and was soooooo disappointed to see that it is not in the book!! I don't know why this piece was excluded but it's the reason I bought the book! Other than that, it IS well written and more for the beginner beader. I had pre-ordered the second book of this author and title, but have decided to cancel it until I am able to see if all the projects on the cover are contained in the book.

I have to agree with all the other reviews - an excellent 1st book for beginners to learning stitches with the added bonus of good modern designs. Includes exact details of colours used and sizes of each finished project. Covers all the basics (& more) in an easy to read, well designed layout.
Experienced stitchers with find it an invaluable reference book - I dip into it to find inspiration or clarify poor stitch instructions in other books.

I received this book today with great anticipation and I was not at all disappointed. The designs are as fresh as they are beautiful and lend themselves to be modified to fit your own tastes. The book is laid out well in terms of photos, directions and materials. Examples of other designers work was displayed for inspiration and to give the reader encouragement to make the design "your own". I can't wait to get her next book which comes out later this year.

this is a GREAT BOOK!!!! i am a beader for over 12 years now and this book is wonderful for those wholove seed beading. many projects that re very different and lovely.

I think this is by far the BEST beadweaving book I purchased so far. It has wonderful clear instructions and fantastic pictures. Every project is so well described it can be used by beginners or pros.
I will order the second book as well and can't wait to see what is in the second one.

All of the many projects can be made in less than 2 hours. The book combines the best of Japanese and American/English instructions. Rings, pendants, cellphone straps and necklaces but no earrings. Each group is arranged separately first with pictures and explanatory material and then followed by the patterns. Each pattern after giving the supplies needed has the steps written out both in English and with easy to understand pictorial charts showing the actual type of bead used and the direction to bead. There are references from the word instructions to the chart instructions. Back of the book has the techniques including the basic stitches. There is one serious problem though. The beads are all Toho and are given numbers by millimeter and not the way the West is used to; e.g. 11s, 8s, etc. However the beadwork itself is done just as in the west using needle and bead thread. This would be perfect for classroom learning or for someone needing beginner material. The stitches included are peyote both odd and even, tubular peyote odd and even, ladder, brick, herringbone, tubular and circular herringbone, netting, RAW with one needle, square, spiral rope, daisy chain. I haven't made anything yet, but am planning on working through it because I am hopeful it will help me to use my Japanese beading books.
