| What Every American Needs to Know About the Qur'an - A History of Islam & the United States | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
You will be fascinated by this fast-paced, objective history of the world from a perspective you have never imagined. Current events will come into focus in the back drop of 1,400 years of inconceivable yet true events and conflicts. Thousands of books, documents and articles have been researched over several years in preparation for this book. In 2006, Keith Ellison became the first Muslim elected to the United States Congress. He swore in on a Qur'an. Most Americans know little about the Qur'an, who wrote it and how it spread. Mohammed, who had 15 wives, fought in scores of raids and battles, even cutting off the heads of 700 Jews. Within one hundred years of his death, his followers conquered North Africa, the Holy Land, Persia, Spain - from the Indian Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean. Read how Sultan Mehmet II conquered the 1000 year old Byzantine capital of Constantinople - How Jefferson sent Marines to capture the Muslim Barbary pirate port of Tripoli - Woodrow Wilson tried to save millions of Armenian Christians killed in Turkey. You will not be the same after you have learned what every American needs to know about the Qur'an.

This book was a complete waste of time and money. As a Christian I look for information that will help me understand the culture of other religions so that I may witness to people of other faiths in a kind and effective manner. This book is very unorganized and uses a very adversarial approach in its presentation and attempt to "educate and inform" the reader. I have many other books dealing with this subject and this one is the worst book I have ever read. The only reason I didn't return it is so that I can show others how terrible is is. I would have given this book a rating of zero but the lowest rating the meter would allow was one star.

This should be required reading for every politician in this country, then they'd understand what this country is up against. The Muslim world will never change, and you'll see why in this book.

This is nothing more than a restatement of the views of a handful of hate-mongers. Nothing original and nothing OBJECTIVE. Drawing conclusions in a box is not objective. The only ones I see buying this heap o trash is maybe a xenophobic redneck who miraculously has an extra few bucks left over because the pastor didnt swindle it away yet to buy that new Benz.

I have had the priviledge of seeing Mr. Bill Federer speak in person at the Waukesha Expo Center and this book is a wonderful compliment to his presentation! (Especially since there was so much information he gave, that I could not retain it all at the seminar, so this book reinforced all that he spoke on and gave it to me in writing so I could re-reference parts of it as I went through the book) This man is such a wealth of valid, well researched information! I thouroughly enjoyed reading this book, and I share aspects of it with others daily. It is so surprising how much "educated" people reallly do NOT know about things like this. They tend to hear an "expert" from somewhere (often times on a talk show of sorts) say something and just take it as pure fact without doing the research to verify its authenticity! Just like "separation of church and state"...show me that in the Constitution...anyone, please...oh, that's right, it's not in there. It's in a PERSONAL LETTER to a Baptist minister from Thomas Jefferson, stating his concern that the state might try to enforce too much power over the church and that the church should be protected from the state. Most people don't know that either...

This book gives reference to the reasons why America should be concerned about the Islamic move that is sweeping our country.
While so many like to remind us that "not all muslims are terrorists", this book explains why the true Muslim, one who seeks to follow the example of the prophet Mohammed, will be a terroist. A man or woman that follows the example of Jesus will be a servant, forgiving, and gentle. A man that follows the example of Mohammed and obeys his commands will be gentle towards other Muslims, but will, as a matter of his religion, kill or subjugate those that refuse to convert. It is not politically correct, but it is historically correct. Many horrible things have been done in the name of Christianity, but they were not in accordance with the teachings of Jesus. Many horrible things have been done in the name of Islam, that are in accordance with the teaching of Mohammed in the Qaran and the Hadith. A Christian, according to Jesus, must "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you". A Muslim, according to the Qaran, must "kill them in every stratagem of war". A simple glance at the world situation will confirm the truth of this book. This is all documented in this little volume. It should be required reading for every high school student. Very informative with references to the Qur'an verses. Should be required reading to know what we are facing in the war on terrorism.

I found the book very informative. The larger print makes it easy to read. I would highly recommend this book to students of the mid-east.

I found the book to be very informative as I have been interested in learning the contents of the Quran. I did find it at times a little dry with alot of overwhelming, non-pertinent information.

This was a very informative book. Its concise format provides just the right amount of information about the history of Islam the reader needs in order to get the big picture of what Islam is all about and how it has shaped history. It even provides details of the various pagan religions and Christian heresies Muhammad was exposed to in his early life that he would later come to piece-meal together into his own religion. An interesting example is the apparent idol worship of the meteorite in Mecca, believed to be from a moon god, that Muslims face during their prayers. This book completely blows away the argument that Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance, all with evidence from 1400 years of Islam and the Qur'an itself. Any Muslim who reads this book will probably very seriously question their faith in Islam.
My complaint about the book is that it appears to have been poorly edited. It could have been structured better, and it contains several gramatical errors. However, the book still made for very fast and easy reading. (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-04-11 09:29:12 EST)
