Drawn from the popular weekly segment, Late Show Fun Facts is a collection of unusual, little-known--and sometimes even true--bits of trivia assembled by the Federal Bureau of Miscellaneous Information.

Not even funny; just stupid random nonsensical "facts" that aren't really facts or really funny, just, may I say it again, stupid.

I bought this book for my son who watches Letterman every night it is on in NZ. He is quiet and shy and this was "homework". He has to practice reading it out loud to himself during the day and read it to the family at night. It has been wonderful to see him get so much enjoyment and some hidden socialising out of this book. We have all thorougly enjoyed the book and will now need to find more similar.

perfect funny little book to keep on the living room table. I love Letterman and record it every night so I am a little biased!

David Letterman jokes around about his new offering 'Late Show Fun Facts' on his show of course, but he really is right on the money. Despite economic times this book is definately worth the price (even the conversion rate to Australian dollars for myself). If you love the show and especially his fun facts segment this truly does provide you with hours of fun, remembering some he has already done and some great new entries. I still haven't gotten through to the end. So believe me this is no 'pamphlet' it is 239 pages of fun...some will make you cringe, some will make you laugh out loud, but all of them - and other segments and info inserted into the book - you will find endlessly fascinating.

I live in China, near Hong Kong. I watch Late Show with David Letterman through Hong Kong's TV chanel. However, many scenes are cut by my local TV opearator, I never watch a FULL episode. This book gives me a great chance to review all the jokes in Fun Facts which are often disappeared from my TV.

This book is overpriced and not at all funny. I watch Letterman every night and he didn't write a word of this book. Why he would put his name and photo on this piece of junk is beyond my comprehension of what I thought was an intelligent man. Save your money....

If you prefer Letterman over Leno, you'll love this insanely, irreverant book. If you love the Fun Facts Letterman presents on his show every Friday, this book is for you. It's more than just facts, you also get to know the inner workings of the Federal Bureau of Miscellaneous Information (FBMI) and the intricate process a "fact" goes through before being approved for release to the public. Too, too funny! Right after I purchased this book, a "fact" I submitted for a Fun Fact contest the show was running was selected and I just received a copy of this book signed by Dave, the head sicko himself. Get this book and find out just how funny stupid stuff can really be!!!

I watch the Late Show every weeknight, so I was very excited about this book coming out, as Fun Facts are one of my favorite segments on the show.
However, for those that rarely (or never) watch the Late Show, you may not like the book much. I bought it and enjoyed it because I like Fun Facts, but for those who don't even know what Fun Facts are, you may want to look elsewhere. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-10-24 15:32:54 EST)

This book is unadulterated humor. These "Fun Facts" are totally awesome, amusing, and a sure-fire way to while away the hours at home, on a long car ride, or even on your own toilet!
Sure there are bad reviews for this book, but I think it takes a special kind of class and a certain poise to really enjoy these fun facts for all they are. Example: "The Equator is so long it could circle the entire Earth once." See? and that's just ONE of them! Imagine a whole book filled with these gems! Well, that dream is a reality with David Letterman's Late Show Fun Facts. I great investment for yourself, a gift for a friend, or a way to ease the tension at family get-togethers during the upcoming holiday season! But in all seriousness, if you enjoy Letterman's style of humor, this book is right up your alley. It's not just Fun Facts either. The book contains FAQs about the FBMI, letters from fans and kids, a detailed process of the Fun Fact creation process and more! Don't hesitate to buy this book, someday it'll top New York's best-seller book list, and that's a fact! (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-10-24 15:32:54 EST)

Forget the flies, roaches, and superheros(pictured on page 231), this book has been a horrendous thorn in my left retinae. When this book sauntered through our door via misguided purchasing(I didn't buy the book), it seemed like a possible Gary Larson supplement for our mutual coffee table and enjoyment. Unfortunately this book has careened from a harmless consortium of ink and paper to a means for heinous and terrible jokes to be screamed at me through walls. After countless nights of "real zingers" haunting my dreams such as, "If your name is Todd, it might as well be Scott" I felt like a victim of molestation. After allowing this book to exist in my apartment for three days, I had to examine it. Upon reading this cornucopia of "fun facts" I wanted to punch babies to guard them from the potential harm of this being their first book, thus sending them spiraling down into a storm of stupidity, and poor sense of humor. If you value your sanity in any way, please heed Swami B and I. If you value humanity, call the publisher and demand a book burning session. Thank you.

I laughed extremely hard reading this book, probably will laugh even harder after a few drinks hahahaha. Planning on giving this to my mom (a separate copy, obviously) for a stocking stuffer this year. I'm sure we will have great laughs! We both love Dave! I would say if you love Dave and his sense of humor, this is a good choice. If you like to enjoy a nice bottle...errr glass of wine and read a book, try this on for size to switch it up. Laughter really is the best medicine. But only if you have a sense of humor...otherwise you probably won't get it!

I was very disappointed with this book. I ordered it based on excerpts that Letterman read during his show. It's like when you see the preview of an upcoming funny movie and you realize that they used all of the funny lines in the preview.

As if David Letterman couldn't bore "Late Show" viewers enough with his tedious rants worthy of a cult group leader, he inflicts more torpor upon us with this forgettable pressing of type upon dead tree pulp. Derived from his show's time filler called "Fun Facts," the book collects all the meandering toe jam of flaccid ideas collected by the show's self-absorbed typing staff (they surely do not merit the description of "writers") into a form that will surely induce boredom among anything claiming to be conscious. I guess I liked the line that aphrodisiac foods included a certain kind of dinner rolls. Other than that, I cannot find much inspiring comedy.

This is a great book - but you have to like the show. Unlike the other review I read, he or she is obviously not a David Letterman fan. Well I am and if you are pick up this book! It is hilarious. Read it on the subway, the toilet, the doctor's office waiting room, or during some boring sex (it will definitely spice it up!)
