I thought this was such a funny book. Not for the faint of heart, but if you are a Chelsea Handler fan, you'll love this book. I can hear her saying and doing some of the things she describes, well written and true to Chelsea.

Sadly I liked the book. I feel a little voyeuristic! Not sure if that is spelled correctly. This book reminds me a lot of all the years in my 20's I don't remember very well. :)

This is a laugh out loud funny book. I wish it were 700 pages. I highly recommend reading this book, it is soooooo funny. I personally liked this book better than "Are You There Vodka..." I think I had it read in about two days because I seriously didn't want to put it down.

I had seen Chelsea's show on E! several times, and figured that if she wrote about her one night stands, it was bound to incite a giggle or two. Boy did I underestimate! I actually brought this into work (shhhh!) and had to stifle my laughter....and I was not entirely successful. The way she describes things and the vernacular she uses are simply hilarious and I think most people who read this have a similar story or two. I also read her other boook (Are You There, Vodka?) but I prefer this one for its laugh-out-loudability. A must-read for anyone who is not uptight about one night stands or casual sex (or at least reading about them).

The humor is marginal and the chronicles of her sexual romps do not exist. There's NO funny "One Night Stands" whatsoever, A huge disappointment !
The funniest part of the book is the very beginning, when her sister dares her to take a picture of their parents having sex. After that it's pretty much benign tales of her being drunk and that's about it. I returned my copy for a full refund.

Impossible not to call your friends in the middle of the night just to read your favorite bits of it... Chelsea Handler is probably the most hilarious comedian of the 2000's.

I love the book tremendously. I have a book club and that was the book that was chosen to read. We merely chose the book based on the cover alone. We were all pleased with the book after reading. Definately a funny book keeps you laughing throughout the entire book. It's a easy read and some things you can relate to as well.

This book is all over the place in style and content because there is no underlying theme that really ties it all together. Or if there was, I missed it. That being said, I still enjoyed reading Mrs. Handler's booke because it was real life or at least the author's perception of real life and that made it entertaining. Also, the author reminds me of one of my girlfriend's so I think I was able to understand the main character much better. The writing is good, clever at times, and the stories are funny. Definitely a good book to bring with you on the plane if your not embarassed by the cover!

Chelsea Handler is such a hilarious comic and author! I recommend this book to anyone who likes men and loves to laugh.

from laughing so hard and so long. People stare at me in the park, on the Metrolink, in Dr's offices....any place I am reading this book. Chelsea Handler is one funny gal. I never miss her TV show Chelsea Lately because I love to watch her crack up at her guest's jokes and sometimes her own. She is hilarious.

If you enjoy juvenile or even infantile humor, then this is the book for you. But if you're really looking for humor, don't waste your money on this collection of so-called "one-night stands."

These stories might be funny for stand-up comedy in front of inebriated fans, but in written form are not even close.

After reading "Are you there Vodka? It's me, Chelsea" I knew I HAD to go back and read "My Horizontal Life". She is so funny! I laughed out loud all through the book, especially the chapter called "Skid Marks". Oh My God, I laughed so hard I cried. I could just see the whole thing playing out just as she describs, as if I was there and she was telling "me" the story. Chelsea Handler is the funniest commedian out there right now. I saw her show live last month and my stomach and face hurt from laughing so much. SHE IS SO NASTY, not at all shy, and I LOVE IT! YOU GO GIRL!!

Anyone who likes Chelsea Handler MUST read this book!! It's an EASY read, VERY funny. I can just picture these things happening to her...LMAO!!

I absolutely love this book and definetely recommend it to everyone. From beginning to end, her stories of her past sexual encounters. There was a comedy and humor to each of her adventures. you have probably never read or heard of a public figure or celebrity talk about their intimacy as chelsea handler does. you wont want to put this book down, you're going to really like it. i was hoping there was a sequel but i guess not.....great book on one night stands.

This book was hilarious. I was laughing out loud at certain parts. It's a really quick read. I found myself wishing there was more when I came to the final page. Referred this book to a friend and they loved it too. Definitely worth purchasing.

Her perspective seems a little wack, like it's so normal to her to drink THAT much and have THAT much promiscuous, virtually anonymous sex. To read the book, you would think strangers just walk up to each other, say hello and go have sex. Promiscuity makes me pretty uneasy, and so I took one star off the book for her taking it so lightly.

On this amazon page, a review from Publishers Weekly reads, "Opening with a cute story from when she was seven...." I think the reviewer is missing the point completely. I like to watch Chelsea's show, and she has a wry sense of humor; however, the way she conducted herself as a young woman is both frightening and sad. The thought of two underage women constantly drunk and inviting Godess knows whom into their beds, including criminals and absolute undesirables, wreaks of low self esteem, lack of self respect and no boundaries. I have to wonder if young women know they are putting themselves in danger when they get drunk and go home with strangers?? Not to mention diseases???? This lifestyle is not healthy. Think before you leap or read! I don't recommend this book to young women, who may be influenced to behave in unhealthy ways.

not great... I actually liked her newer book better (are you there vodka.. its me Chelsea).. After reading that book first, I was thinking this one had to be even more raunchy... but it wasn't what I expected. It wasn't bad... I enjoy the way she writes. I just was let down after reading the other book first.

I read "Are you there Vodka, It's Me Chelsea?" and loved it so much that I immediately ordered "My Horizontal Life". Chelsea has a brilliant way of telling stories that makes you fell like you are out having a drink with a close friend. Not one to pass on to my grandma but definitely all of my girlfriends!

i purchased this book because i was a huge fan of chelsea handler, and when i recieved it, i tore into it like i was a fat kid, and this book was a box of toaster streudels . . . one page in the entire book made me laugh- the rest were good ideas with too little else. i didn't so little as smirk through the bulk of it, and the filler and one-liners between each major detail were inadequate, and clever at best. nothing progressed in a smooth, and believable manner- the crap tangents seemed to dilute even chelsea's give an s factor when she came back to the main idea. every character was so poorly sketched, the bulk of everything in the book is based on the simplest stereotypes with one or two defining traits- max. which is fine- stereotypes are based on facts, but every character is merely a prop as we watch drunk, soulless, chelsea sketch a short life of doing absolutely nothing. most of the 'insight' and subjective material comes in the form of a very rough joke, or is unnecessary and disjointed, and actually takes away from the idea. did anyone edit this book?

I have really enjoyed Chelsea's books. I am a huge fan of hers. She is so hilarious. I highly recommend her books to anyone and everyone. I can't wait for her to write another book!

It isn't often that I find a book that makes me laugh so much that I couldn't take it anywhere. I also felt obligated to read parts of it aloud to anyone in my family who was nearby. I read the one-star reviews and can only conclude that they actually want to read literature. This isn't it. This is about a girl with no morals who knows it and doesn't care and has a way with words. She rats out herself and her family, which has some mild shock value as well. Really worth it. I want to buy a copy for everybody I know.

This is hands down the funniest book I've ever read. Her writing style just oozes creativity. She has a keen observational skill that is just gut-bustingly funny. She's definitely a head above all others. I'm dying to start reading the second book!

This is a hilarious book!! I love every short story she told. Chelsea is really honest about herself in this book. She puts all her craziness out there for people to enjoy it. It is and easy read. Too bad I haven't heard great things about the book that follows this one. However, this book displays well her comedy skills.

Chelsea Handler is one funny lady. The title led me to believe it would all be about the details of hook-ups, but it's not. It's SO much more. Super funny, great read and totally a recommend if you have a sense of humor and a need for a light read.

I laughed out loud so many times while reading this book. Chelsea Handler's wit and sense of humor are refreshing.

the few times i caught the chelsea lately show, i never found her funny. after picking up this book during a trip to the bookstore, i couldn't put it down. like the title of my review says, i was literally laughing out loud! surely people must've wondered what was wrong with me while sitting on the stationary bike at the gym with book in hand. it's sooooo funny... so much so that i just placed an order for her other book.

I got caught laughing outloud many times!! A must read! If you like Chelsea you will love this book. Not only are her situations funny but her outlook on people including herself are down right brutally funny!
