I'm not sure why game guide authors feel the need to put their picture on the first page. Its not like their writing is a literary masterpiece that will be referenced by scholars years from now. I mean come on, they map out the game designer's work. What they think about the game is irrelevant, its like an attempt to steal the Nobel Peace Prize from Mahatma Gandhi and giving it to a dude who started a blog about him being bald. Regardless of which, this guide does its job in mapping out all the information you'll need to finish the game with a 100% completion ranking and contains easy-to-read maps to help you find all those hidden items. It just gets annoying when the author forgets that his job is more like a cartographer (map maker) and not a critic. Seriously, how entertaining is it to hear someone blow their own horn, rambling on about about what they did to beat the game. I just wanted to know if I should make a left or a right, not your life's accomplishment.

Hey you metroid heads this is the guide for you. If you are stomped, and can't find your way to defeat the challenges within. Seek help from the GUIDE. I love it for 2 reasons. It gets my son to read and solve his gaming problems all at once, so in my mind that is a win, win. Two thumbs and 5 stars. Keep making these guides they are great. :-D

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was a fantastic Wii title. It contained a wonderful universe to explore and an innovative control scheme that feels comfortable. The bar was raised a little higher for the author of the strategy game. I'm pleased to see that David Knight met the bar, and exceeded.
PROS + It has an outstanding overall appearance and design. + It is thorough and presents an easy strategy to collect 100% on. + The boss strategies are thorough. + It contains all item locations + The maps are beautiful, have great keys and are easy to follow. CONS - The appendices don't contain enough information, and are tad bit confusing. - The scan appendix has the scans in order of appearance, but not in the same order the game has them in (alphabetical) making you do a bit more searching. - Not enough little tricks and tips, and no Hyper difficulty tips. APPEARANCE - A The guide itself looks fantastic. The cover has a wonderful shine and texture. The overall design of the guide is beautiful, and matches the game very well. The maps also look wonderful. STRATEGY - A- The strategy is wonderful and actually tells you how to obtain 100% through the game. The Notes and Item boxes are great, and it divides each section for you to follow easily. The boss strategies are great, but they don't really have the small tricks and tips that make them so much easier. There aren't any tips for Hyper difficulty. APPENDICES, CONTROLS AND CONTENTS - B The table of contents are clear and well divided. The controls are thorough and teach well. The real problem lies in the Appendix section. It is a good appendix, but it's also confusing. The order of the scans are out of order from the in-game's list of scans. If you are missing scans in the game, you have to actually read through your scans and find the one you are missing. The Pickups section also has all of the different pickup types compiled together. It would be nicer if the Energy Tanks, Missile Expansions and Energy Cells were in separate lists. It is still a nice deep appendix through. OVERALL - A- This is one of the best game guides I own. I'm a bit harsh sometimes when it comes to reviews, so an A- is a great rating. It is highly recommended that you get this guide if you own the game. Even if you've beaten the game, and know it inside and out, the guide is still a blast to look through. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-08-14 07:08:10 EST)

Its a really complete step by step guide including ALL screens of the full path to get this game finished with all possible credits. It's AMAZING. No way to get lost in this game using this book. It's like a person who has already finished that game showing you all the solutions for this puzzle.

I haven't got in the need to use this guide as much as I thought, which is good, but in some parts of the game it was really useful. The presentation is amazing and the art in it is worth the price of the guide.

All the Metroid games are great and this is the best out of all of them.
I have really enjoyed it. The control with the Wii controllers makes it even better. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-02-15 08:27:45 EST)

I been playing video game on all platforms for years now still remember buying metroid on the nes but if u want 100% of the collections in pretty much any metroid game a guide is allmost essential but saying that this guide deffentily get job done has detailed walkthrough boss strageties and scans and collections but if u follow step by step walk through there r few mistakes not saying spelling errors just an example on the planet elysia at the spire dock the guide says turn left head toward zipline ride it enter door to get to junction area when in fact the correct way to that area is right. When it comes to the Nintendo Wii, many gamers want great games that deliver in the new ways we play. For fans of the Metroid series, many of them have been anxiously eager with the wait of the new edition of the Metroid franchise, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption on the Wii. Unfortunately, Nintendo decided not to actually make a strategy guide for this edition of the series, where they did for the earlier games. Instead, Prima, the third-party strategy guide company made one instead. Their Metroid Prime 3: Corruption strategy guide plays well in price, but the maps and displays here, don't provide enough detail in each of the levels, especially if you're trying to uncover certain weapons in the game. I honestly was thinking if there was going to be a good strategy guide, Prima would deliver in it, but they fell flat on the face, especially for those who've just bought the Wii game. Nintendo should've made one of their own, which would've made it a lot easier for gamers alike, and Samus fanatics.

Prima's Metroid Prime 3: Corruption guide is a handy tool for conquering Nintendo's latest masterpiece. It's an all around good guide full of great tips and tricks to help you survive the perils of your adventure.
The guide begins with a nice short sweet introduction, and will then introduce you to the characters. It'll then jump into the basic controls as well as telling you about the various pick ups and power ups you'll get throughout your adventure and how to utilize them. There's also a small section dedicated to the credits, but there's more on that later on in the guide. The guide waste no time getting you to the walkthrough which is a good walkthrough overall. There are times when it tells you what's going on, but unlike some of their previous guides, it does get to the point faster, and provide a lot more detail. The screenshots are crystal clear and throughout the walkthrough it'll call out to you tips and words of caution in green and red boxes respectably. It also calls out little notes in yellow boxes. Another great thing about the walkthrough is simply that it tells you when you have a chance to get some credits and friend vouchers. It's almost perfect. Another great thing that the guide does is inform you of optional things to do in a light green box so that you'll know its not something you'll have to do, but something you might want to do. Following these tips can usually net you an energy tank, missile expansion or credits. The boss strategies presented are also very detailed and well done. Giving you all the basic things you need. Providing you with a good offensive strategy and telling you how to avoid some of the bosses more nastier attacks. The maps in the walkthrough are pulled straight from the game, but that's alright. Since the ingame map itself is actually fairly detailed, that means these maps are too. They also point out the location of energy tanks missile expansions and the like. So it's the ingame map with more detail. With each map you also get a list of all the research and credits that can be obtained in an area. After the walkthrough there's a map appendix. This helps to locate all the pickups scattered throughout the game, and it's not so bad. For the most part if you're using the walkthrough a lot, you won't need it too badly. But if you're just interested in all the pickups, searching the map appendix is far easier than searching the walkthrough. Afterwards we get to the pickups appendix, which is just a list of all the pickups you can obtain. It's just a way to keep track of what you've grabbed and what you haven't grabbed. That way you don't needlessly backtrack. Then we get to the scanning appendix which will show you everything you can scan, where it is and whether or not its a one time deal or if you've got other chances. It's color coded by area, but they don't have the key on every page. So you might be doing some page flipping here. However, it's not a huge section. Finally we have the credits section. Here is where the guide will give you all the details on unlocking everything in the game. All the main credits are called out in the walkthrough, but all the bonus credits are listed here. The ones you get for meeting certain task. It'll then give you a table for all the unlockable content. In the end this guide is unbelievably detailed. If you need help with Metroid Prime 3: Corruption... this is pretty much the perfect guide. An excellent walkthrough with excellent strategies. (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-09-07 10:50:05 EST)
