A large, hard back book of Scooby-Doo mysteries, with colorful artwork on each page. Easy to read for experienced readers, too difficult for the newer readers in your home. Each story is long enogh for "to be continued" at bedtime.

As other reviewers have stated, this is a nice quality book, with a heavy binding and nice colorful illustrations. My low rating for this book comes not from the production of the item but from its content.

I remember loving Scooby-Doo when I was a kid, and now my son is into this show. We prefer the original series shows to the later ones, in part because they are simpler and more innocent: the monsters are not real, they are just people made up to look like ghosts or whatever. It was a fun show that dealt with greed and misdeeds in a light-hearted way, without murder and supernatural forces. Also, at the end of the original stories, the cops always showed up to portray the kids as being on the side of justice, not vengence.

However, in this book there are several stories where the monsters ARE real. In "Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders", the space aliens are really from outer space, they transform into lizard-like forms near the end of the story and get picked up by a space ship. In "Scooby-Doo and the Witches Ghost", the story involves real witches doing real magic and a real ghost who does away with the bad guy at the end. He is not arrested, but is sucked into a spell book along with the evil witch-ghost (see p. 199 in the images). These two stories in particular are not in line with the light-heartedness of the orignal series. They are more frightening (for a kid) than the classic Scooby-Doo tales, and I don't find them appropriate for my young son.

The age range for this book says 4-8, but I think age 4 is maybe too young to be faced with real monsters (just my opinion).

The stories are very long but the kids absolutely love Scooby and usually pick this book out for bedtime reading. The only problem I have is that each story has a different font and some of the fonts are squiggly and hard to read and make my eyes water and blur and it's hard to focus. It's weird but if you have the book you'll know what I mean!

My nephew loves Scooby Doo, but he has a rather short attention span, so I was a little worried that this book wouldn't be read much. However, he will sit still for a full story, so this book turned out to be a great gift.

Here is a list of stories included in this collection:
1. Scooby-Doo in Jungle Jeopardy
2. Scooby-Doo and the Opera Ogre
3. Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders
4. Scooby-Doo and the Weird Water Park
5. Scooby-Doo and the Phantom Cowboy
6. Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost
7. Scooby-Doo and the Fantastic Puppet Factory
8. Scooby-Doo and the Marsh Monster

I would have liked to know the titles in the general description before I purchased this. As it turns out, we already have one of these stories in a stand-alone book and another one on a video. Still, it is a great price for 8 stories, which usually sell for $3.99 each. Worth it for a Scooby fan!

My daughter loves this book. This is actually the second copy that I have bought because the first one was totally falling apart after years of car trips and repeatedly reading the stories. It was well loved and used and there was no way I was not going to get her another.

What a great book! Wonderful pictures, bigger print. My son is learning how to read, and this book inspires him to the find words he already knows in a story he's familiar with. We often find him looking through the book, trying to read it on his own. It is a bit heavy, but nothing we can't manage. Great value, and will be used for years.

My child loves Scooby-doo but if you're buying this book for a toddler be prepared to read the stories for a long time. They're not as short as typical book, rather very long. Other than how long the book is we like it. Who doesnt like Scooby-doo?!?!?

My 5 year old boy just loves this book, he either wants to leaf through the pages or have a story read from it every night. Of course all the stories follow the same scooby-doo formula, but for kids that's probably a reassuring thing, the monsters always end up bad guys that get caught by the heroes.

My 5-year-old and 3-year-old boys have recently discovered Scooby Doo. As soon as they fall in love with any character or series I immediately try to find the books that accompany them to encourage their imaginations and and hopefully an enjoyment of reading. My 3-year-old now sleeps with this book and looks at it everynight. These stories aren't the classic ones my husband and I watched in the 70's, but newer stories closer to the "What's New Scooby Doo?" series, plus a few Scooby Doo movies from the 90's. These stories are full-fledged stories - not shortened "beginner" stories and they totally keep my kids' attention. They just love the stories and like to guess who the villian might be. If your kids like Scooby Doo then they will definitely like this book.

This book contains eight Scooby Doo stories. They are a huge hit with my four year old. The book is a good value, since each story by itself is $3.50. Parents beware, it takes 15 - 20 minutes to read a story. Good illustrations. Classic tales.

This book, just like many that are published with kids in mind, is just another example of the longivity that Scooby Doo has continued to enjoy to this day. First appearing in 1969 as "Scooby Doo, Where are You?", the character and his Mystery Inc. friends have become something of popular faces in American animation. In the suceeding thrity plus years, there have been about 12 to 14 different cartoon shows that have featured Scooby Doo in some form or another, and while not all of them have been good, It has shown that this big friendly dog who eats junk food, has an appeal with both kids and adults who stay young at heart, which seems to transend the generations. Scooby became part of the Warner Brothers animation empire in 1995 when the studio formally bought Hanna Barbara studios. Shortly there after, Scooby and his Mystery Inc Friends became "unoffical" new members of the Looney Tunes world with a cameo apperance in "LOONEY TUNES BACK IN ACTION, and perhaps not surprisingly, they fitted in with Bugs Bunny quite nicely.

Although the book is a bit large and gets heavy after reading it awhile, it has a good Scooby Doo story collection. The pictures are nicely done - big & clear and will hold any child's attention. I prefer to buy books with print that is larger and very clear while the print in this book is a bit small. However, my son is starting to read and he can read many of the words in this book.
