This book is excellent - I now have four South Beach Diet Cookbooks and this is by far the best, easiest, and quickest recipes. Everything I have tried has been easy to follow and yummy.

I decided to try a diet for the first time in my life when I lost the baby weight I had put on, then gained it all back by the time my son was 8 months old. Also, I have been trying to feed my son healthy foods, and noticed that I was often not eating healthy food myself. My father in law had sucess with his diet the year before, so I thought I would try it. So far I have lost 27 pounds in 5 months (11 lbs. in the first 2 weeks), and generally loose one pound a week, even when I feel I have strayed (like at a party or wedding). I already lost the weight I had put on, and am continuing with it to get down to a healthier weight for myself. Plus, now I can fit back into my jeans that I had packed away even beore I got pregnant. Once I got used to the food guidelines, I have found it easy to stay on track, and can alter many of our usual meals to fit the guidelines. I see this as a change in the way I eat, not just a way to loose some weight, then gain it back again.

This cookbook provided lots of easy recipes for all phases of the South Beach Diet. They were not only quick and easy, but very flavorful. They helped us to stay on the diet and not feel deprived.

I would not recommend this unless I HAD to be on a diet and I knew how to add flavor to dishes. Only ONE out of the 7 I tried from main dishes and muffins where worth repeating.

despite of the diet's name (south beach= very superficial) this diet is great for ANYONE, it's just about eating healthy for life. I wouldn't call it a diet...but should be a lifestyle. Great cooking ideas with very simple ingredients that make healthy and delicious food.

When buying a diet cookbook unseen, the first thought is that there will not be anything in it that I will ever make. WRONG!! I am extremely pleased with the cookbook. I sat down with it the night it came in the mail and started browsing through it. I found so many recipes that I actually wanted to make that I had to put bookmarks in the pages. I picked out over 2 dozen things that I would actually like to try. I have tried several of them so far. They are just like the title of the book claims - Quick and Easy. You don't have to shop the high end stores for special ingredients. Most of what you use is already in your spice cabinet or pantry. The Mahi Mahi with Citrus is excellent. The Green Beans with Mushrooms and Balsamic is delicious. I have already lost 20 pounds in the first month of being on South Beach and I am eating so much better and so much healthier that I don't even consider it being on a diet. It's a new lifestyle now.

I purchase cookbooks like most women purchase shoes - and this is by far, my most favorite cookbook. I use at least 4 recipes a week, and so far, all have been delicious. All the recipes are very fast - I am a Mom with two toddlers, and I don't have time for a lot of prep and cooking.
We love the Baked Pesto Chicken, Chile Beef Burritos, Shrimp Stir-fry, Whole Wheat Penne w/ Eggplant, Sweet Potato Fries, Warm Steak Sandwiches - Really everything we have made! (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-09-09 01:04:26 EST)

I don't like to think I'm on a diet, just that I eat healthy food. What's great about this cookbook are the simple recipes, most ingredients you already have (or need to make better buying choices), and the recipes are not time consuming. I also like that most of the portions are for 2-4 servings, so I can easily know how many meals I have. All the recipes are fresh and appetizing (certainly not like the old Weight Watchers meals)! I've been making a new recipe each day and they're great. And, all recipes are worthy of guests... they never even realize it's Southbeach!

Great recipes! Easy diet! The first two weeks are the hardest and I really felt tired in the afternoons, I love bread and sweets, but if you can get past those first two weeks then you have it made.

I enjoy some of the recipes in this book, however I am finding a problem with it. I am one person living alone and so many of the recipes are for 4 or 6 people. The recipes that I have made of the larger portions are certainly tasty and that is the problem, there is so much food and it tastes good, so I overeat and that negates any good that I am doing. I do wish they would put out a cookbook for the many who are living alone or as a couple who want to help themselves and become healthier without so much food being prepared. Some of you may think, well just halve the recipes but I am not a good cook and often I find it just does not taste the same. Please a cookbook for one or two servings in a lie flat book format with bigger print size would be wonderful.

The used book was in good condition, but smelled like cigarette smoke. It might be important for the seller to let potential buyers know this. I am not a smoker and it is not pleasant. I have since aired it and can use it for short periods of time.

I went on the South Beach Diet in November 2005. In one year I went from weighing 280 lbs to weighing 215! My cholesterol went from 221 to 141,and my blood pressure went from 150/100 to 117/77 (with NO drugs). Also I lost 6 inches around my waist. It went from 42 inches to 36.As of May 2008, I currently weigh 212 (at 5' 11') and am trying to work my way to 195 now.I own all of the books and am one of the biggest advocates of the diet. I would recommend this book to anyone!

I love this book! There are some repeat meals inside but they are all good! Some are so great too because I can add rice or pasta for my husband to eat with the meal (as he doesn't need to loose any weight) Like the Indian Dishes or Thai or even the Swedish Meatballs! I love that they are all so quick and easy! Helps since I work full time and love to eat great food! A great addition to my collection :)

This cookbook has much easier to make recipes, but they aren't as "gourmet" as the original cookbook (orange one). The plus is these can be made a lot faster with fewer ingredients.

The book came in good condition, but it took about THREE weeks for the book to arrive. I've ordered many times from Amazon before, and it has NEVER taken this long. I question the shipping method that this seller used. He/She should be clear as to length and/or method of delivery!

I bought this book knowing that I am not actually following the South Beach Diet. I love the idea of being able to eat at least one healthy/nutritious meal a day. The book comes compact with breakfast ideas, lunch, dinner, and snacks. I was on the South Beach Diet a couple of years ago and found that I loved the food, but didn't have time to make it all the time- the author does stress this as the reason for this edition to his series; however many of the meals are still time consuming. There are probably around 10 different recipes in total that cook in less than 30 min but for the most part the meals take about 45min-1 hr between preparation and cook time. A couple of the recipes are repeats from his original book, but most of them are new. The meals are great, but oftentimes the food is a bit pricey. If you are looking for an inexpensive diet, I wouldn't suggest this one. If you are looking for nutricious meal plans and ideas you know that will be healthy for you and your family this is the way to go. The food is great and it doesn't taste like the typical diet food- it has its way of making you want more.

I have every South Beach book, booklet, cookbook and the Quick and Easy Cookbook is one of my favorites. My daughter recently had a baby and wanted to lose weight. She has seen how I have lost weight with South Beach (40 lbs). She wanted to do SB also, but isn't much of a cook. Also working and then coming home to cook can be a hassle. She absolutely loves the quick and easy book. She loves the food and the fact that they are quick and easy. Today breakfast, lunch and dinner are from the Quick & Easy Cookbook. We use the menus from the diet book as a guide and go to one of the cookbooks for a recipe for the daily catagory, chicken, fish, meat, etc. 90% of the time she picks a recipe from the Q & E cookbook. I would recommend this cookbook to anyone. I have given it as a gift to both of my daughters. We all love it. It is nice being on SB with my daughters, we are good support for each other. I can't wait to get the new Supercharged SB book. Keep up the good work and keep coming up with new recipes.

I understand this is for the south beach diet, but who eats this stuff--really? However if you're into unusal combinations of foods its for you. And I like the south beach diet book, just wasn't a big fan of the cookbook.

Having a family of 5, I needed to make sure I could cook meals that didn't require spending an insane amount of money, or spending time cooking the meals, and foods that all my family members would eat. This cookbook is fantastic, and it will make your mouth water! The hardest part of this diet is chosing which recipe you want to try next!

I purchased this book and was so happy that I did. Several of my other friends followed and brought the book as well. I liked the book so much and ended up buying another book by South Beach. I do not look at South Beach as a diet. Diets tend to be temporary; instead it is a way of life for me. It is a better and healthier way of eating. I have actually changed my eating style and have been doing this for over a year now. With South Beach you become more aware of what you eat. No, I am not gaining weight!!! so it definitely helps all the way around!!!

I've done quite a few recipes out of this book, and they have all come out well! The recipes are just as it says, Quick and Easy.
My favorite is the Warm Artichoke dip. I've taken it to several parties, and EVERYONE wants the recipe. This book is very helpful when you don't want to spend the entire day in the kitchen, but you still want to do something good for yourself. I was spending 5-7 hours a day cooking South Beach Diet recipes from the other books. Though the recipes were EXCELLENT and tasted awesome, I appreciate the time that this book saves me. When my wife started this diet and started loosing weight, I was very happy to buy this second book on the South Beach Diet to encourage her to "keep up the good work"! I've eaten the diet along with her while still enjoying some extras which she can't have on the diet and I've also lost weight. Recipies look much easier to prepare than the previous book which I have. I am looking forward to trying some of them. The diet is wonderful and has put my blood work where it should be across the board, so a quick recipe book that fits the diet is great to have. Nice variety of foods as well.

Folling The South Beach Diet in 2007 I lost over 70 lbs, most of which I contribute to following guidlines I learned reading Dr. Agatson's books on that diet. This book holds true to the South Beach guidelines and provides lots of recipies of tastey dishes that can be made in "around a half an hour". The ones I've tried have been very enjoyable and I look forward to trying more in the future.

This book is filled with information and receipes for those that want to cut calories and lose weight. I have tried several and found them to be fantastic. The information about different foods is most helpful in deciding what is the most nourishing for any lifestyle. Great book!

My husband and I went on South Beach a while ago and got bored with the recipes in the book. I found this and purchased it, and what a difference it made! So many more options for every phase of South Beach! I wish I would have found out about it sooner. My husband wasn't big on the idea of a diet, but the recipes I started pulling from this book changed his mind real quick. They are quick and easy, even desserts to go along with your meals. There's a lot more info in the beginning of the book about basic shopping and what you are looking for in your foods. I'm glad I got it!

Well written and easy to follow. The recipes are not as easy or quick as I had hoped. Not a must have, but it is a nice "extra" to give ideas on what will work with the South Beach Diet.

I wasn't that impressed by the variety of recipes. There were maybe a couple that I might try.
