I don't have time to write a long review about a book, and I assume neither do you to read it. So I keep it simple and to the point:
I have read several books about day trading and this is one of the best by far. It explains in detail what to do and not to do when you attempt to trade stocks as a beginner. It will stop you from losing money and save you a lot of headaches. Make sure to read it twice!! This book is an excellent guide to anyone new to this field, even if you don't know the technical terms. It is not boring either... I wish it had been longer.. Read it!! Very informative indeed, and I am more-than-ever convinced NOT to daytrade. I know, now, that I have too little education, the wrong software, not enough energy, and not the gambling spirit. I also learned a bunch of other good stuff that can help my longer-term investing.

I think this book in absolutely a must for anyone who is interested in finding out how to day trade, has the intellectual capacity to feel they can succeed, but has really no clue how the stock market works!! Everything you've always wanted to know about day trading 'but were afraid to ask'. Toni starts from square one and explains everything from bid price, offers, indexes and the history of the stock market. If you are beyond this level, then you will likely feel it is too basic, 'chatty' or 'inspirational' in the first half of her book. Personally, it has proven to be an invaluable resource. Toni's writing style is clear and she gives great analogies and speaks in layman's terms while dissecting and discussing the complexities of trading. It goes from big picture to hands-on detailed examples and strategies. Thanks Toni!

I would higly recommend any novice or not so very experienced trader to read this book, and reread it once you have a some experience. She has explained various day and swing trading setups very thouroughly and does it without making it very complicated.

This $10 book has made me double my money in a couple months in OTCBB/Pinksheet stocks. This explains big board stocks but is everything the same as penny stocks. Buy this book if you want to start trading. The author gives instructions in spoken word not scientific as some books do. This is as if someone was talking to you not a college lecture you can't just jump into.
As with that, I've doubled my money and expect to be a millionaire from HARD work, remember that. My recommendation, it's a buy! (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-05-31 00:24:10 EST)

Please read this book BEFORE you start day trading. There are so many pitfalls to this profession that you must be armed with useful tools before you start doing it. It is much to easy to lose everything gradually or rapidly for the beginner. Don't follow her recommendations at your own peril.

Excellent book on concepts on how the stock market works. This is not just for day traders. Easy to understand and follow for retail investors. Good reference too for following the financial channels for understanding trader terms they are talking about. I refer to it often.

I don't understand why some people criticize this book at all. This is called a Beginner's guide and that's what it is. Those looking for advanced content probably don't understand the meaning of beginner's. At least it is much more responsible than some other books that have titles hinting how they became millionaires but offer similar basic information. I read the 2nd Edition and didn't find excessive use of exclamation marks as some claimed. In fact, the writing style of Toni makes for light reading. It does give you a good introduction to trading in shares. I'm a beginner. Thus I do find the information useful to me. Of course, one cannot trade according to the techniques listed in this book and expect to be profitable. However, it should give you solid foundation to build your knowledge upon. I've got to say this book offers excellent value for the price of the book if you are a beginner. Stay away if you don't consider yourself a newbie at all.

I am a beginning stock investor. I have read a few books on the subject. Some of the other books had a lot of theory, which was nice...but sooner or later someone has to jump into it and give you the nuts and bolts. I found this book to be very informative about technical investing. You can definitely read it and go away with a game plan.

Very, very comprehensive, yet easy to follow. Toni does a great job of showing a lot of technical tells and discussing how to find resistance levels, set stops and minimize risk while maximizing upside.
I consider myself more of an investor, as I have a full time job and can't always have an eye on the tape, but the techniques still work well in a longer time frame. For those looking to day trade, I'm sure it's even better. Plus, this has saved me from shooting myself in the foot more times than I can count. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-03-28 01:19:16 EST)

I wish I had found this book sooner. Ms. Turner's approach is the best starting place for those needing basic instruction. I'm so impressed that I've recommended and/or sent copies of her books to family and friends interested in trading. As a competitive person I've found her input in trading is the best application of the steps to winning at anything that I have ever found put together in one place. Can't say enough good things about this book. It has become my "bible" to trading online. Thank you so much for sharing your time and experience learned lessons which reduce the learning curve of the novice and support the always learning online trader. Bess you.

Great read, and very informative. This is a must-have for the wanna-be or "thinkin' about it" Day Trader or any kind of trader. The principles covered span all types of trading. The author is clear, concise and to-the-point. Loved it! Will keep it to re-read and reference.

Although there are plenty of reviews on Amazon to help you decide whether or not to buy the book, I wanted to offer my two cents.
As for the positive points of the book, the title is dead on: "A BEGINNERS Guide to Day Trading Online". The book is a great primer that introduces you to the world of day trading, trading jargon and terminology and, although briefly, charting and technical analysis. The book is well written and Toni Turner does a great job of explaining things in layman's terms. I personally thought the book excelled in two areas. First, the book does a good job of introducing the readers to the styles of day trading. Toni explains the time frame and investment goals of classic day trading, swing trading, and scalping. Whenever she introduces a new theory or strategy, she takes the time to show the reader how the newly introduced topic relates to the day trader, the swing trader, and the scalper. Secondly, I appreciate the fact that Toni puts together a point-by-point checklist to help the beginning trader choose a stock. The checklist is by no means perfect and you will definitely want to include/exclude certain criteria when you begin to trade, but instead of aimlessly looking through thousands as stocks after you finish the book, she gives you a good starting point. Another positive point of the book is the fact that the author includes short quizzes at the end of each chapter to help you absorb the information just presented and a "Center Point" that features a motivational quote and couple of paragraphs of reflection. The "Center Point" motivational speech compliments the authors "Rah-Rah" Cheerleading-type tone and constant overuse of the exclamation point that other reviewers complained about. I really didn't mind the authors cheerleading and enthusiasm, but I can understand how some people were annoyed by it. I would definitely prefer a lively author who is excited about the world of trading than a dry, cold author with no personality. As for negative factors, I think Toni Turner tends to oversimplify things a bit. You come away feeling as though you're ready to place your first trade after reading the book when you are really only beginning to scratch the surface. The book offers VERY LITTLE technical analysis. Toni never mentions key indicators such as MACD, RSI, ROC, or PSAR. I understand the book is just a primer for beginners and that the aforementioned technical indicators are not necessary for someone who is trying to decide whether or not he/she wants to trade for a living. However, if Ms. Turner is going to suggest you can begin trading after finishing the book, she should at least suggest to the reader that there are other technical indicators to be considered before entering a stock position. Here is how you should decide if this book is for you or not: If you are novice who is considering trading part-time or would like a solid introduction to day trading as a full-time profession, this book is for you. WORD OF CAUTION: Do not open up a brokerage account armed solely with the knowledge in this book. You will go broke quickly. I suggest you follow up this book with other books on the subject of trading (Toni gives you a listing at the end) and paper trade for a couple months before you even begin to think about trading with real money. If you are an advanced-beginner or intermediate trader, this book is not for you. You probably already have a working knowledge of every concept Ms. Turner presents. Toni Turner tells us a simplified version of (probably) everything that she knows about the art of trading on line. The book is basicaly a text book that explains all the do's, dont's, how to's and how not to's that a begining investor must know. Everything she says makes perfect scence and is so clear and easy to understand... as well as darned interesting. My favorite quote from the book is ' When Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!'. ( Mama refering to Mother Market ) buy it!

I got the reference of this book from one of the readers, it really gets to from no knowledge to full awareness of what trading is and how to go about it.
I'd recommand this to any one who is starting this as a hobby or full time job. This is not the only book on the subject but this should be one of the must read book. (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-04-12 11:27:58 EST)

It's rare that someone who understands the stock market is willing to teach you about it. We are lucky to have Toni Turner with her zeal for teaching and sharing. Occasional insights are sprinkled like gems thoughout her book.

Overall a good book for a beginner, the best thing about this book is that it walks you through the first steps of understanding markets and fundamentals with ease, it's was written in user friendly way, with simple terms and examples.
she will show you a few setups and a few indicators along with real stock charts but remember, there is more to it further educating yourself is your best bet, definetly worth the $$ though and I liked her sense of humor a bit. you'll feel like she doesen't spend a lot of time on a few subjects, like the Fibonacci or candlestick setups but hey you get what you paid for and I highly recommend reading another book or maybe 2 with a more focus on technical analysis and charting techniques. Good luck and remember -> the trend is your friend except at the end my friend. (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-07-09 14:49:42 EST)

This book lives up to it's title in grand fashion. It is a delightful and eye-opening read for anyone interested in learning about daytrading and swing-trading stocks. The negative reviews have absolutely missed the point entirely. Of course a beginner is not going to read this book, open an account, and start trading profitably. She tells you that right in the book!
Perhaps the most valuable insight is the tale of her own experiences, how she lost money for years then managed to break even for another year before finally becoming consistently profitable. The mantra that is stressed over and over again is that of using tight stops, protecting your capital at all times, and developing a rules based decision making process that is in harmony with current market conditions. The tactics she describes are all practical and tradable, and they all work, except, as she puts it, "when they don't." This is a very responsibly-written book and new traders who read it and then lose money attempting to daytrade based on ideas they got from it have no leg to stand on if trying to blame the book. I'm here to tell you that there is no such thing as a "read this and then start making big money" book, period. I consider this work to be a 5-star classic and highly recommend it as a first read for anyone interested in this subject matter. Nice job, Toni.
