Words of Wazzupery from the Duke of Dimwit!
Can you trust a man that held rendezvous with ladies of the night in a fleebag Washington DC hotel and let them listen into phone conversations he had with President Clinton? Well, NO! Anyone that loses an argument to Bill O'Reilly and has to buy him dinner, can't have much to add to any political debate. You decide.

This book shows how Democrats have turned this country into a "partissan" country and how the Democrats are only for "their" party and not the people, how they are against the "Patriot Act", etc...etc. Written by Dick Morris, former "Clinton Campaign Manager", he sheds insight into the world of politics like no one else can. Great book!

This is another Dick Morris must read. I have heard conservative talk radio talk about Congress trying to get rid of them. WHY? More people listen to TV than talk radio and being a registered Independent, I am continually irritated by Charlie Gibson, Diane Sawyer, Campbell Brown even Tom Brokaw for their comments that "we" think----about whatever subject you want to bring up relating to the Democrats. I am for objective reporting for both parties and this is truly lacking in 2008.

As for Congress----it needs an overhaul. Foreign governments are indeed fleecing us for the benefit of the leaders, not the people. What makes it worse is that we borrow from China to lend to Middle East countries. I could go on------------------Read the book.

I suspect if I were consumed by the pathological hatred of Bill and Hillary Clinton that Dick Morris admittedly is then Fleeced would make more sense, carry more weight and frankly, be far more persuasive. The topics from Health Care to Media Bias are all ripe for a no holds barred examination in a "let the facts lead wherever they might" approach...

... it is unfortunate that Morris knee-caps himself at every turn.

Morris writes as he talks with all the subtlety of a Molotov cocktail and consciously or not, manages to infuse almost every chapter and argument (no matter how salient) with an almost comical and circuitous return to the all-encompassing shadow of his former employers. This is a shame since Fleeced is a book based on personal sensibilities that I really wanted to embrace.

Still a worthy, if embittered, read.

The information within this book should be a required reading of all in politics on how not to govern. Of course, it is an example of how to spend and get your way in our government. Even worse in respects to the Obama info is the lacking of experience, the media in the tank views that have smoked screened the voters about the real Obama.

(Hide Review...)  A Balanced Look at Ripoffs By Politicians, Corporations, Lobbyists, and Others
Reviewer Permalink
This is a well done expose of those who 'fleece' the citizenry in a number of ways.

In a book that has perhaps the longest subtitle ever, Dick Morris exposes those 'fleecers' including politicians on both sides of the political aisle, the media, big corporations, teachers' unions, and many more. As he is an equal opportunity basher, many readers will likely be offended in some way (he has examples of John McCain as well as Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama).

Some of the better parts of the book include the following:

1. Barack Obama - Morris outlines many problematic areas with the self proclaimed 'the one'. One of the most important parts is showing all of Obama's tax plans. Morris' conclusion: 'Together, these proposals would be crippling to our economy.' He does a great job of showing exactly how that would be.

2. The Do-Nothing Congress - Morris shows just how 'grueling' the work schedule is for our elected representatives. He documents how 'in the entire year 2007, the House of Representatives worked only three five-day workweeks.' That is just the tip of the iceberg for this group of slackers. He does a great job of showing a great many of their dubious 'accomplishments', which are laughable to say the least. He also makes a great point about how John McCain, Barack Obama, and others who have run for president have essentially taken anywhere from a few months to a couple of years off of this cushy job to run for president, skipped numerous votes, but still collect their paychecks. As he says, 'They're not doing their job. But they're all still getting paid -$165,000 a year! - for doing nothing.'

3. The plastic fleece - He shows numerous scams that the credit card companies do to rip off their customers. He goes through eleven ways that these corporations use to essentially steal. Although this would have been considered usury at one time, they are free to gouge people in some very disgusting ways.

There are several others. I will forego further examples. Suffice it to say that there are many appalling ways that companies, government entities and others are gouging people. Morris has some solutions that, if implemented by large numbers of readers, could make a big difference.

I would strongly recommend this book.

(Hide Review...)  Morris' Fleecing Is Mostly Political
Reviewer Permalink
Dick Morris has made a career of exposing the foibles of those who in one form or another--usually political--have been fleecing America. In his most recent book of the same name, he takes dead aim at a wide variety of scalpers who seek to separate America from its security, its work ethic, its national character, and other sectors that for want of a better term used to symbolize America. And therein lies the book's strength and weakness. As he goes about giving an thoroughly deserved lambasting to the fleecers, he places too many under one tent. As I was reading FLEECED, I noticed that of the eighteen chapters, the first half dealt with the political issues that he often raises as a guest speaker on The O'Reilly Factor: Obama's questionable grasp of security, taxation, and education; media bias that consistently downplays terrorism while demanding a "Fairness Doctrine" for talk radio; and the left's insistance either to close Guantanamo Prison or release outright its many incarcerated terrorists. In the second half, Morris plays consumer advocate who rails against the outright frauds perpetrated by the sub prime mortgage lenders, the usorious credit card conglomerates, and the NEA teacher pension rip off artists. To his credit, Morris zings the right as much as the left. However, he dilutes his thrust by trying to solve too many of America's various woes at the same time. John Stosser, for example, covers much of the same ground in his various consumer fraud bestsellers. Yet, there is much to like here. Nowhere else can one find what America would be like under President Obama with respect to Obama's vision of a tax-burdened America. Further, he concludes each chapter with an Action Agenda in which he urges readers to take specific action against specific abuses, often naming names that readers can contact for redress. His writing style is breezy and non-technical, just as he appears on television. In short, if one wishes to find a muckraker that rakes in more than one kind of muck, than FLEECED is a good place to begin.

I have always enjoyed Dick Morris because I think he speaks the truth. I don't like many of the things he says, not because its spin but rather because its a reality I am not comfortable with. In this book he brings up issues about many divergent and problematic concerns which also made me uneasy, I think this is a good thing. If one looks at the Table of Contents you will find many topics that will interest or distress those of any political perspective, a fair and balanced endeavor.

I appreciated "Outage" more however in "Fleeced" I found myself challenged to be objective which is a healthy effort for anyone attempting to be thoughtful.

(Hide Review...)  The Problem with Morris' opinions....
Reviewer Permalink
Obama, in the true liberal fashion, has fluid thinking. He vows to surround himself with intelligent people and to hear a variety of opinions before moving forward. He has gone so far as to compare his prospective cabinet with the cabinet Lincoln held, in order to understand the forces dividing his nation.

Is our nation still divided more than a century after the civil war? Yes. And there are those who would profit from keeping it that way -- the Bush/Clinton regime, namely. Whether it's Walmart or Haliburton....

So Obama's proposals might not yet be perfect. OK, I grant you that, Mr. Morris. But is he willing to listen, to evolve, and to carry this country in a direction not directly solely by greed? Perhaps his readers should consider that option as well.

I finally gave in and glanced through this mess. Perhaps Morris is counting on people forgetting who he was. He was the man Bill Clinton went to when he needed to sell the U.S. a bill of goods. Is Dick Morris a "right-winger" or "left-winger?" Who cares? He is a man whose moral compass doesn't exist. Read this if you're interested in what Mr. Morris thinks will sell. But anyone reading this to inform him/herself is wasting precious time.

As in junk or burn pile... Just thought I'd add a quick fact about one of the many sub-titles of this book... "Liberals Who Want to Kill Talk Radio" Well it's finally happened ! not what the extra long name claims but the opposite... A man was arrested last week after killing another man for being nothing more than a "Liberal" Not the true dictionary meaning of the word, but the twisted, demonized version that books such as this piece of trash have used over and over and over again with repetitive ignorance. When the police searched his home they found only books by Rush Limbaue, Shane Hanity etc... (If I spelled these scumbags names wrong... Oppp's) So, right wing self righteous, sexist, gay bashing, racist talk radio has finally driven someone to kill !!!
They must be proud.

The title 'Fleeced' is very handy, but perhaps only if you store your books face-out, so the title can stare you in the face weeks, months, and years after you read this one and remind you that you got...

Dick Morris is a professional TV talking head, a former Clinton crony who was busted for his own hanky panky, took a break, and then took a nice job on cable where he puts on a suit, combs his hair, and gets on TV to talk about the insanity of the Democratic party, the USA's supposed organized left, and anything else he thinks they'll like hearing him say.

I saw him on The O'Reilly Factor and the best thing O'Reilly could say about the book was that it was 'new stuff'. Meaning new takes on the same old themes. This time it's not Bill, it's not Hillary, it's not Kerry, or Ted Kennedy, it's Barack Obama. Morris outlines what an Obama administration might look like, which is great for scaring the pants off people and having them vote Republican. Mission accomplished.

These books are no longer even funny, though they may now invite a serious 'green' movement against them since so many good trees are killed every year to make the latest tome by a TV cable hack of any wing. There are no real 'fact's here, it's the statement of things that happened that you agree with, and the omission of what you do not.

It's cheap, it's tired, and it's not new. Come on, I'm waiting for the Keith Olbermann title to appear any day (maybe it has), then perhaps a Hannity can heroically pen something in mere weeks (he'll call it a 'patriotic pamphlet').

Should at least include pictures next time.

This book sat on my desk for a month before I had a chance to read it, and I would have been better off skipping it all together. The sole purpose of this diatribe is to spread fear just before the election in November. The supposed "facts" are scatological, misleading, disingenuous and outright fabrications. "Fleeced" is a means to rip Obama by instilling fear in the electorate that he is essentially an evil man with an immoral agenda. This is how the far rightwing ideologues behaved in the last two presidential elections, and it worked so why change now and try to speak the truth instead. I could list dozens of outright misleading claims, but I'll mention one a an example. True that Americans are disappointed that Congress has not achieved much since the 2006 election, but the fault is not with the Democrats as Morris would have you believe. The House has passed a number of significant bills that were sent on to the Senate and then died. But there are 50 Dems, 1 independant and 49 Republicans in a body that requires three-quarters to approve a bill. The Republicans (As they did when they ruled during Clinton's last years) continually block every single bill resulting in no bills being passed. Morris simply ignores that fact because it doesn't support his claim. This book is filled with such bizarre "facts" that simply don't stand up to investigation. This book serves as nothing more than a political agenda to continue spreading fear in the belief it will work again - and it very well may.

This book is a lie from its front cover to the back - it is nothing more than a desperate neo-conservative effort to hold onto the free ride they have had on the backs of middle-class Americans since Reagan began his systematic destruction of protections that were put in place to avoid exactly the debacle we find ourselves in now. Big oil, deregulation of all markets, corporations defining themselves as individuals, banks getting into the buying and selling of mortgages as though they were chips in a casino instead of people's lives, bail-out of multi-billion dollar corporations by the taxpayer who gets no breaks at all, but must simply tighten his belt as he watches his income dwindle, jobs go overseas, cheap goods force small businesses out, etc., etc., etc.

He claims the Dems want to raise taxes - maybe they do - on the wealthiest individuals and corporations who up to now have been paying NOTHING and reaping huge rewards. And how do you think our infrastructure is supported? Emergency services, police, firemen, flood control, roads, bridges, the elderly, disabled, children, schools. That is part of what our tax dollars are supposed to support, not bail-outs, not corporate jets, not corrupt contractors and especially not illegal wars brought about by the indisputable lies of an administration bought and paid for by big oil and multi-billion dollar interests who have no agenda other than their own pocketbooks.

Yeah, go ahead, by this big red lie. It supports the raping of America.

For an overview of what this book is about, read the 40-word subtitle: How Barrack Obama, Media Mockery of Terrorist Threats, Liberals Who Want to Kill Talk Radio, the Do-Nothing Congress, Companies That Help Iran, and Washington Lobbyists for Foreign Governments Are Scamming Us . . . AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT.

Does the thought come to mind that the authors are attempting to cover an assortment of topics that are not clearly connected? Yeah, and there are other topics/villains as well, including the subprime loan crisis, credit card companies, hedge fund billionaires, the teachers' union, off-shoring, executive pay, and Halliburton.

Whatever their political leanings, almost anyone would find persons/groups, practices, or ideas they disapprove of on the list. And in all fairness, some of the segments are well done. I came away convinced, for instance, that the media pooh-poohing of a thwarted plot to blow up the Brooklyn Bridge was motivated by political considerations vs. real analysis of the threat.

For the most part, however, the segments are written in an exaggerated, superficial style. Here are several examples:

* Perhaps the claim about a "do nothing" Congress could be backed up in some fashion, but the number of days on which Congress schedules roll call votes does not represent compelling evidence. Haven't the authors ever heard of committee hearings and the like?

* Barrack Obama would raise taxes, no doubt, but taxes will have to be raised by whoever the president is unless the government gets serious about cutting spending. Obama's advocacy of new spending programs, on the other hand, does carry some weight.

* If Hillary Clinton's stated "the United States should retaliate against Iraq if it attacks the UAE, Kuwait, or Saudi Arabia," so what? The fact that others have not said the same thing does not prove the statement was wrong (would we stand by and let Israel be wiped out?), let alone that it was a favor to a consulting client (Dubai) of her husband.

As for the "what to do about it" part, the suggestions offered are sophomoric. Gee, let's all e-mail the members of Congress asking that they post their schedules on the Internet. Not only is it unclear how such a practice would help solve the problems noted in the book, but it might well complicate the task of keeping the members of Congress safe.

If you are considering buying this book for its criticism of Barrack Obama, be aware that only one chapter is devoted to the 2008 election and it targets Hillary Clinton (apparently out of the running now) as well as Obama. There must be some other book that would provide a more thoughtful, in depth analysis, and I am planning to check out several possibilities.

I don't even know where to begin with this joke. The book claims to detail, among other points, how US foreign aid is destroying America, yet leaves out the billions in AID given to Israel (at least 320 billion since '49), the billions spent by Israeli lobbiests in Washington. All he can "focus" on is a biased tirade that delves into ludicrous racism. The Arabs this, the Muslims that!

This is SO horribly researched and finely cherry-picked that one has to question if this book was written as a comedy. For instance, the disproved myth that released Gitmo detainees return to the battlefield. http://law.shu.edu/administration/public_relations/press_releases/2008/guantanamo_data_reveals_61708.htm

His only clear message is one of propaganda and sensationalism. Stating that the media should ALWAYS call terrorists "Muslim terrorists" or "Islamic terrorist" sets one VERY clear agenda: fear-mongering. According to this puffy chicken-hawk ALL Muslims should be feared, and that Islam supports terrorism. It is a blatant hate manifesto.

This book is horrible researched, completely biases as it is blatantly clear that the author cherry-picked his information to "support" his skewed views. This book has one agenda, above all others, to paint ALL Muslims as extremists out to kill Americans. Apparently a minor (very MINOR population of the Islamic world) who adhere to this extremist ideology taints the whole tree. Good luck destroying a fifth of all humanity, Mr. Morris. Who's the terrorist again?

If you want unbiased writing- don't buy this book. It is completely one-sided and ultra conservative. If this is what gets published nowadays- I could write a book. Don't waste your money- just watch fox news or any super-conservative show. It doesn't educate the reader but simply bad mouths public figures and throws stones. One example of how pointless this book is: author describes how democrats want/need to raise taxes- but the author does not offer any other options for how we would pay for the war or fix the our national debt. We already knew that the Dems usually try to gain money for public programs or debt. It puts a slight spin on some things that we as readers already knew. Don't bother.

(Hide Review...)  Scambled Brains, Good Tid-Bits Served in a Trash Can
Reviewer Permalink
Dick Morris is without question one of the most gifted observers of the US scene. He is also one of the laziest.

I no longer pay for his books, having learned that he is the intellectual equivalent of a chef that serves his food in a trash can, but a friend had it, I borrowed it, and with the sense of discomfort that comes from eating out of a trash can, here are a few thoughts.

1) This is another formula book in which 1,000 news items are lined up, darts are thrown, and rhetorical diarrhea comes out. Individually, the items are both well-known to those that read a lot, and very fine for those that do not.

2) This is also a book that puts stuff out in an unbalanced manner, ranting and railing on one thing without noting that we are equally guilty of "the other thing" that is not mentioned. See my chapter notes below.

3) This is an online-source book, the equivalent of a comic book, drawing exclusively from online sources and using so many "ibids" in the notes (not that people who buy such a book would need or both with the notes) as to be irritating.

Here are the chapters with one line comments. I end with an outline of the book I would enjoy helping Dick Morris write--he is capable of it, he just needs structure, disciple, and a bit more seriousness in his life.

1 President Obama: What Would He Do? Extreme left scary story
* Misses the point: NEITHER of the two clowns have a strategy, a policy matrix (Agriculture, Energy, and Water need to be planned together) or a balanced budget to back up their lies.

2 How the Liberal Media Downplays Terrorism. Absolutely correct--Madeline Albright started the deal.
* Ignores the 25 high crimes by Dick Cheney and the 935 documented lies told to the public to falsely connect terrorism to elective war on Iraq

3 Liberal's Secret Plan to Muzzle Talk Radio. Yawn
* Misses corruption of mainstream media, lobbying to close down Internet Radio, and breach between conservatives with a philosophical grounding and brains, and talk radio idiots that give all of us a bad name

4 The Do-Nothing Congress. Tars the Democrats.
* Ignores the reality that both parties are evil, corrupt, and lazy.

5 Foreign Companies, American Pensions, and Iranian Bomb. All true.
* Ignores fact that US sells 5 times more proliferation than Russia, 3 times more than UK, we provided Iraq with bio-chem, and "our" government love 42 of the 44 dictators.

6 The New Lobbyists (for Foreign Interests). Duh.
* Ignores the vastly more corrosive effect of our own lobbyists.

7 The Du-baing of America. Money talks, but the authors exaggerate in their continuing anti-Clinton angst. Dick Cheney, not Dick Clinton (joke), is the main man here.

8 The Plastic Fleece: Credit Card Company Abuse. Duh. 29.9%
* This is only possible because Congress got bought off and eliminated caps. The Bible calls it usury. Advanta, Citi-Bank, Chase, are all under investigation while smart people pay off the principal and tell them to go fish for the usurious interest.

9 Teachers. Duh. You get what you pay for, but this is much much worse--the extreme right is going for charter and church schools to create little me's, the left is accepting substandard schools, and the smartest kids know that schools are so out of date as to be worthless.

10 Released from Guantanamo, They Kill Again. Please. Try looking at our own prison population, and then be serious about the role of morality in domestic and international standing and efficacy.

11 How Hedge Fund Billionaires Live Off Tax Breaks
*which they paid for because we let them

12 How the Teachers' Union Rips off its Members
* All Unions are a disgrace and rip off their members.

13 Re-Building Luxury Second Homes in Flood Area at Our Expense. Right on.
* Now try to understand and explain why we continue t o legitimize paving over nature

14 The Subprime Loan Crisis: Why the Greedy are Going Free
* Please. We all know the Feds settle white collar crime at a penny on the dollar. This is news?

15 How Halliburton Rips Off the Pentagon
* Please. 9-11 missile allegedly destroyed the computers with the forensic evidence of the 2.3 trillion Rumsfeld could not account for; Dick Cheney ordered to sole source for Halliburton and sent Paul Bremer in to stop a "premature" withdrawal of US forces until Halliburton was done looting

16 Blocking Toys that Poison Children from China. Duh.
* What about fair trade versus free trade, end of Big Box Swindle stores like Wal-Mart, etcetera?

17 How Company Bill Clinton Works for Fleeces the Vulnerable Elderly. More angst, need therapy.
* Reality is that the federal government is ripping everybody off, to the point that Buffet, Bogle, and Soros are actually worried that Wall Street corruption has gone too far

18 From Movie Lights to Lighting Up: How Films Induce Teens to Smoke. So tired its dead.
* What about success of abstinence and safe sex, the actual REDUCTION of teen smoking, the new-found teen appreciation for body building?

This book is well researched and objectively addresses many key issues facing America today. It can be used as an excellent reference book and gives the reader many helpful incites on a variety of topics all of which I deem necessary to make informed voting decisions concerning the up and coming elections.

In short, I highly recommend this book. It should be required reading for those that have an interest in the well being of America.

Reviewer Permalink
Dick Morris has successfully gathered the data and given us a clear and coherent analysis in this well written book. The only major flaw I can find is that he is too soft on Obama's false claims that he has never taken money from lobbyists when one of the very few things he has an actual history of doing is TAKING MONEY FROM PACs and lobbyists! Here is a link to a Boston Globe article highlighting my point.

http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2007/08/09/pacs_and_lobbyists_aided_obamas_rise/

I would love to know why Dick Morris did not mention this in the book, considering the fact that it augments his argument against Obama. But everyone ought to know of Barack Obama's hypocrisy when it comes to attacking his opponents on the issue of lobbyists when he himself has a history of the very same behavior.

Despite this omission of relevant content, I recommend that every American ought to read this book. Especially because of the bipartisan themes this book conveys and the awareness it raises. Nobody is left off the hook when the system is rotten to the core. If you want to know how our politicians and government are cheating us and what we can do about it, THIS BOOK IS A MUST READ.

I felt like I had been fleeced after paying for and reading the book. There was nothing revealing in my view and frankly some of the commentary and analysis was rather juvenile. For example the chapter on the sub-prime mess is quite simplistic and doesn't really get to the heart of what went wrong.

I purchased this book the day after it came out.....Easy to read with tons of facts and footnotes. Dick Morris and Eileen McGann do a masterful job of cutting through the clutter to help us easily understand that "We the Government" is not the way the Constitution reads.

Thank you for giving us a broader look at the way Washington has grown, deceived and still can't get enough power. I bought "Outrage" which I am reading as a follow up and will b e certain to buy your next book.

OT...I see that Amazon is scouring Nancy Pelosi's reviews to help get her up from the dregs to make a decent showing.....Bad judgement....maybe because it is a bad book.....please leave the reviews as is....thank you

This book is an excellent accounting of what will happen to our country if Obama is elected as President. Dick Morris seems to be a very knowledgeable person in the area of politics. I trust his accounting and believe that our country will be in serious turmoil if we elect this liberal. This is a very easy read and an eye opener to some things one may not know and things that are definitely not reported on the major news channels.

This book once agin tried to warn Americans about many dangerous thought provolking issues. We are a nation of "Greed" and its beginning to be more obvious as time goes by. Dick Morris serves up much food for thought. Many folks refuse to accept the facts, others prefer to ignore them.

This election cycle will make or break America's future yet the choices we are given has been referred to as "Electile dysfunction" with no options to save us.

It's not just politics as usual but the transition of America that is at stake. Read the book, hear the message.

In September, I will write checks for $17K to the IRS and the State of Calif. for my 1040 Estimated taxes. I get ONE vote during elections. There are millions of people who have never paid taxes because it is easier to receive welfare than to find work. There excuse, who would take care of their children. In too many cases, they can not even name the fathers. The more children, who will also grow up to be on welfare, the larger the monthly check.

This is too powerful by far to take for more than an hour or two (a chapter) at a time. It is a clear outline of some dangerous trends and their perpretators which many of us have recognized but are here presented in one readable volume. Morris and McGann pull the curtain away from the Wizards who are FLEECING us all. Importantly, the authors not only expose sickening shenaningans, but also offer suggestions to combat them, all in the name of Truth and the American way which would make Clark Kent proud.

(Hide Review...)  Makes Good Points, Even Though He's A Bit Depraved
Reviewer Permalink
Even though Morris infamously left his White House job in The Clinton Administration after reports of drug use and depraved sexual activity, including engaging in S&M activity with a prostitute and singing "Popeye the Sailor Man" to her on a hotel balcony in his underwear, I believe he makes some important points about, oh, let's see... Barack Obama, Media Mockery of Terrorist Threats, Liberals Who Want To Kill Talk Radio, The Do-Nothing Congress, Companies That Help Iran, And Washington Lobbyists For Foreign Governments Are Scamming Us. He is to be applauded for sitting diligently at his Dell Inspiron and coming up with the highly imaginative title and banging away at his keyboard until he has filled 325 pages with his opinions on why liberals are evil and why the last 8 years of Bush's leadership have been great for America and why we need 8 more of the same. This is not a simple-minded partisan hatchet job, but a very rational,clear-headed presentation (by a former Clinton advisor, mind you) on why liberals have destroyed America and why the Bush administration is a beacon of brilliant democratic and moral principals to be followed by all nations. Although the nation has been under conservative, Republican rule for 8 years now, Morris successfully lays the blame for everything that is wrong on liberals such as actor John Cusack and country music group The Dixie Chicks.

It shouldn't be surprising that many reviewers attack the messenger while ignoring the message. OK. Morris is no saint. I agree. However he does have some warnings which we need to heed. The title sums up the problems rather well. How do we wake up and take action on solutions! He does have suggestions but we need to pay attention. Do we believe what we have seen and heard or what the media tells us to believe!

Here is another book which should not have seen the light of day. Dick Morris, who has flipped and flopped between both sides of the political spectrum, seems to have finally thrown his lot with the likes of Newt Gingrich, Ollie North, Gordon Libby, and Rush Limbaugh who think what they say is the absolute truth simply because they said it. Facts don't matter.

Until he wrote this book, I somewhat liked Dick Morris. Now, I am not sure if I can read his writing again! While he has had influential jobs and held the attention of presidents in the past, he no longer seems to be politically astute - sorry to say.

This book should open the eyes of most Americans as to the `workings' of Washington; along with what should not be working! It is time to vote the majority of Congressmen OUT and start over. Nancy Pelosi is the biggest disappointment for the women in this country that we have ever experienced.

In addition, `Barack Obama' is an `empty suit' that will attempt to make America over in the `European Mold' leaning toward Socialism! Dick Morris has put forward a systematic account of what is and has been wrong with our government.

The Bush administration did not start this downward spiral of America; it was started and is still going on by the actions, along with the often inaction of our Congressional representatives. Moreover, the 'Pork Barrel' spending should enrage us all! FLEECED is a MUST READ, for all individuals that care about our country and want to be educated when it comes to their vote!

Dick Morris used to be a strategist for the Clintons, so he knows how politicians operate. This book is well documented and sourced. His description of this Democrat congress as "do-nothing" is right on the mark; even today, as Americans are paying over four dollars a gallon for foreign oil, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid refuse to allow a vote on drilling. This book is an enjoyable read, but it will raise your blood pressure!

Prepared to receive an honest overview of what went wrong with our system was my first mistake in purchasing this travesty. Dick Morris is no different in print than he is when spouting regurgertated rhetoric on tv. If he intended on proving that many years in Washington and "supposedly" good judgement does not a President make; than he did just that. On the other hand, if he wanted to make a point that less than two years in Washington does not a president make, he did that too. So, after reading this I'm back to square one. Do I want to go with experience; which led us into this mess or do I want to chance on something new?

I'll take the new. I've had it with so-called experience. Right now I'm experiencing paying too much at the gas station and too much for this book!

Fleeced is a well researched, well written expose' of what's wrong with our country. The USA needs to return to the Constiutional retraints on our government, or why bother with having a Constitution? Remember, "We the People" are supposed to be the leaders of our Constitutional Republic. Our elected representatives are by law supposed to represent the will of the people. If this were to happen, we would have no illegal immigrants, and no wars without a declaration of war! We would be energy independent because we would be using the abundant energy that the USA has: coal, natural gas, petroleum - all within our borders!! All the while, we can be searching for alternatives to fossil fuel. "We the People" demand no less!
