Breaking Dawn was a great finale to the Twilight saga. My one complaint is that now it's over. I am anxiously awaiting the movie, the companion books, and Midnight Sun. This is a great book for kids as young as 13 and as old as 30. These are the best books I've ever read (and I am not usually a fan of vampires).

I loved the book. Twilight will always be my favorite, but this is a god book. The book is def. more mature than any of her other books, but it is full of action and romance. It was like the series was building up to this mature relationship as the ending to the last book. I give is a must read review!

about the way Stephanie handled the complexities of the story. Everyone who matters is happy by the end. Things happen that I had thought would be impossible, providing many nice surprises and new twists to the whole story. It's as much of a page-turner as the rest of the series is, and I am impressed. I recommend this book.

She says, "10 out of 10. Loved the ending and the characters." She is eagerly awaiting "Midnight Sun." This isn't really me saying these things, it is my daughter. She is 22 and says "Edward and Bella are wonderful."

I couldn't put this book down! It tied up all the loose ends of the saga in a riveting, unpredictable, brilliant way!

I felt that Ms. Meyer drew together a real ending to Bella Swan's story. Ms. Meyer gave Bella everything she desired through marriage and gratuitous sex with her husband Edward. She carried a child, kept her family safe and was granted the inclusion of her father in her life after she had become a vampire. I was very pleased that Ms. Meyer did not shy away from the very controversial birth of "Nessie". It would have been preposterous to think that childbirth would have been less bloody and disturbing, especially in the case of Bella and her carriage of a half-human child. I found the story brillant and fun. Thank you to Ms. Meyer for giving me an intelligent and caring story about love and fantasy. It was a pleasure to discuss the novels with my 14 year old son during and after the reading of each novel. We adored them. We look forward to Edward's story as well as anything else Ms. Meyer decides to grace us with in print.

If you have read the Twilight Series, you've got to finish it with this book. It has twists and turns and is enthralling to read. If you haven't read the first three books in the series, make sure you read those first.

I am a 39 year old mother of 3 whose 15 year old daughter (she read Twilight when it first came out;met Stephenie Meyer at a book signing; rushed out for each of the other books as soon as they came out; a devoted Twilight fan)asked me to read the series. I was totally hooked. I thoroughly enjoyed Breaking Dawn and would choose it as my favorite book out of the series.
**Spoilers** I teared up at the end when Edward and Bella thought it was all over and were saying goodbye to their daughter and each other. I felt their fear, their sadness and furious protection of their daughter above all things. I do not think Bella was too young to feel these things. She grew up very fast and found out the important things in life are worth fighting for. She was born to be a vampire. She had her gift before she ever became a vampire. Bella became the perfect vampire and amazed everyone. I also do not find it creepy that Jacob imprinted with Renesmee. OK, maybe at first, but then after all that happened wouldn't you want someone that would fiercely protect your daughter? It's not like he was thinking about her in a dirty way; he is totally devoted to her and will always protect her. Yes, everything turned out happy and that is exactly how I wanted it. I have enough bad things happen in my life and my friends' and families' lives, I don't need it in my movies and books too. I especially loved when Edward could finally read Bella's thoughts (with her help). Like I said, an absolutely perfect book in every way. I don't understand why someone who enjoyed the first three books would want it to turn out any different. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-09-03 07:17:35 EST)

Although I still love the first book, this book is in true Stephenie Meyer fashion. She is an amazing writer and this book is nothing less.
Awesome, fun, and not disappointing. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-09-03 07:17:35 EST)

This last book in the Twilight series was just as good as the other 3 books, from beginning to end. I read the book in about 4 days, just couldn't put it down. Being a 41 year old mother of three is proof that it is also good reading for adults as well as teenagers. Give the series a try, you won't be disapointed.

I read Twilight on a whim. It seemed more Silhouette Romance than Vampire Fantasy, and I was okay with that. The story piqued my curiosity, and I found myself back at the book store buying the rest of the Saga. Each book seemed to improve, writing wise. It was interesting to see the author develop her voice and her writing style over the course of the 4 books. And I was interested to see the relationships between Bella, Edward, and Jacob progress as well.
I enjoyed the Saga, but found the last piece a bit of a transitional one for me. It started out answering the "big" question... Edward or Jacob right away. I didn't expect that... but I went with it. Then, I was thrown a bit when the author decided to write from the perspective of Jacob, rather than Bella after a few chapters. In fact, for the first few sentences, I was honestly confused, then angry, and then resigned. It seemed she didn't quite know how to tell the story completely from Bella's perspective. So, she transitioned to Jacob instead. I am not sure if she fell in love with Jacob, as a character, and wanted him to have more of a voice, or ... well, I have no clue what she was thinking. The first half of the book felt like a draft that needed more work. But then it picked up and she found her groove again. I could see the outline, the resolutions and the thought she gave to her ending. And, I for one, was happy with her ending. However, I just don't think she was able to put it all together as coherently as was possible. She lost the voice of her narrator, Bella, and her own voice a few times in the book. Overall, I was happy with this conclusion to the Saga. It is worth reading. Don't let the 1 star reviews dissuade you from reading it. It has a lot of potential, and in some ways is completely satisfying. On another note: The 1st 12 Chapters of Midnight Sun are available online at the author's site. I think these chapters bring into perspective Edward's thinking, and helps balance the control issues seen in his character through Bella's eyes. I hope that the author completes the book and releases it soon. It will be worth reading. The author's voice is back in that book, and her writing again, is greatly improved. She is really evolving nicely and it will be fun to follow her career. I am glad I followed my whim and picked up Twilight. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-09-03 07:17:35 EST)

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed this series, but this book in particular really felt like a one person RPG. I've never felt that with any other book I've read before. There wasn't anything the main character could do truly wrong and it got a little ridiculous! It was still a pretty good read. I enjoyed finding out more about my favorite fictional couple and look forward to Stephenie's next book.

Note: There may be a few spoilers in here.
Truthfully, I wasn't expecting Breaking Dawn to be as satisfying as it was. I read several reviews on here before reading it--unfortunately learning the ending and all the spoilers (but that was my own fault for being too curious). So it came as a pleasant surprise to me to find that I thoroughly enjoyed this book--and it may even be my favorite from the series. Many reviewers have stated that everything ended too "happily", & that the conclusion was wrapped up too perfectly--but I tend to disagree. Although I enjoy happy endings, I also enjoy bittersweet, realistic endings as well--and if an ending is too saccharine sweet I get really annoyed. Breaking Dawn had enough elements of both reality (the Volturi are still, even at the end, considered a future threat) and happiness that helped to balance each other out. The fact that Bella had to go through so much uncertainty and pain throughout the book (carrying the baby and worrying about the Voluturi) made the ending all the more satisfying. It felt like the characters deserved it, after everything they had been through. I highly recommend to anyone who has read the first three books. Don't allow the other reviews to dissuade you; be your own judge. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-09-03 07:17:34 EST)

This book was full of twists. I was not expecting it to be filled with as much excitment. From some of the other feedback I'd read I thought I was going to be disappointed. I was not. I fully enjoyed it. It's a fast read, which I love. I very much enjoy the way the author writes dialogue and the way she describes scenes. I read it in a about a day and a half. I do hope she is going to write another book with these characters. I don't want this saga to end just yet.

Well I have to say that I was highly disappointed. What a mediocre ending to a spectacular series. I was expecting more. I can't even explain what I was expecting just anything more that what was given. I guess being an HP fan made me expect great things from the final book....I mean anyone who has read DH knows what an amazing end it was and I was hoping for the same in the Twilight Saga. Overall, read the first three and come up with your own ending because anything YOU come up with is better than what was written.

The book was kinda like riding a rollercoaster. You loose your stomach a little here and there, smile & laugh, when you think it's almost over you go through one more loop and you are done & you wish the ride didn't have to end so soon! The book is divided in 3 parts. Don't stop when you get to Jacob's story!

I am a huge Twilight fan and, as with so many others, I could not wait for Breaking Dawn to sit on my nightstand. I read the book as quickly as I did the others and I felt some of the same feelings as far as I couldn't put it down, etc., however, it wasn't my favorite of the series.
I won't rehash what everyone else has already said, so here are the points for me that made this book fail. --> I really missed Edward. The Edward side was missing a LOT. --> So was the relationship between Bella and the Cullens. The things that I loved so much about the Cullens were absent in this book. --> The name Renesmee (or however you spell it) was absolutely STOOPID!!! As was the child. Why wouldn't I love a child between Bella and Edward? I really didn't like that I didn't like this kid. --> Why did Bella get EVERYTHING? She got Edward. Jacob, a baby, immortality, a relationship STILL with her parents, the other werewolves or shifters, whatever, she got EVERYTHING. She didn't sacrifice a thing! And how come she still didn't have her fat baby weight when she turned into a vampire? So those are my biggies. It's kind of a shame because you recommend that everyone read the first three, but if you possibly can, stop there and don't read Breaking Dawn because it will spoil everything for you. Spoiler Warning - If you are one of those who haven't read the book why would you risk the chance of ruining a book you are possibly interested in reading by reading these reviews before hand. I find it much better to formulate my own opinions without pre-conceived notions in my head. If you are one of those who like to read reviews to prevent yourself from wasting time reading a book, go right ahead!
Character development was much weaker in this book that the previous, too many new characters introduced with too little development. Way too much was going on in this book without the proper development that was seen in previous works. I'm not going to get into messages that should have or should not have been sent to young readers, to me that is a writer preference. The continuation of the development of the love triangle was just thrown away. In the 3rd book you come to this shocking realization that Bella really does love Jacob, and then in this book it seems that its almost a non issue as she carries forward with her plans. I would have liked to see more internal conflict. Her becoming a vampire so early on in the book ruined it somewhat for me. It was as if she became a vampire and all here internal love struggles simply disappear like magic (i.e., all love relationship emotions for Jacob magically disappear...). Just a little too many improbable turns, even through its fantasy you have to make it somewhat believable. I started to loose that feeling of being sucked into a book and living through the character and started feeling I was reading a bunch of ideas some author threw down on paper. it kind of sucks when you start thinking about what you are actually doing vs. being enveloped by the book. At the very least it would have been nice to see some action in the book, some sort of fighting with the whole build up. It was a little disappointing that 99% of everything had to tie up with a passive happy result.... As much as I didn't like the ending in the 3rd book, being a Jacob fan, I kind of liked it cause it evoked powerful emotions. Kind of wish it ended there:( With all that said it was still entertaining to read, still like the way she writes, 3 stars. I'm not going to pick apart the entire book and say how she could have written an alternative story line pretending its that easy. I can't imagine how difficult it is to write a book with all these constraints, I just simply would have liked some better story and character development. I picked up Twilight after reading a review somewhere, and was so engrossed after forty pages, I immediately ordered the next three books. I am so glad that I did! I read them ALL in four days time - thankfully on vacation, but still mostly worthless to my family and friends while I was lost in Bella and Edward's world. I have read the negative reviews about Breaking Dawn, and could not disagree more with the haters. From someone who is as far from a weeping-willow as you can get, the entire story is great - inventive, funny, smart, creative. Perhaps because I read them all in sequence, very close together, I was able to let the story take me where it wanted to go without demanding certain outcomes, and at the same time recognize that this is a STORY, people. I enjoyed the journey immensely, and it has been difficult (really!) to let go of their world, now that the story is done. Thank you for a great escape. I really needed this.

Breaking Dawn is last of four amazing books in the Twilight series. I could never put it down. The way Stephenie Meyer writes makes me feel like when i put the book down the whole world of Bella and Edward stop. Her descriptions are amazing. The way Stephenie Meyer uses words in such great detail would make someone want to keep reading and reading and reading and reading.

After reading the first three books in a week, I was a bit skeptical to begin the fourth book after reading some of these one star reviews. Now, that I've read the fourth book, I just have to laugh and shake my head at most of those one star reviews.
The writing style was similar to the first three and the story turned out just fine to me. Those that have a problem with shape-shifters imprinting on a child - You've got to be kidding? There is something wrong with that - but not the in-depth detail of how vampires attack and suck the life out of an animal. Give me a break... My only complaint of the whole series is there is too much "Edward breathed on me and I melted" kind of stuff. But hey, I'm a guy! - and it was easy enough to skim those parts. 5 stars. i was so let down by this book. i noticed as the series progressed that none of them were as good as 'twilight' none of them had the same intensity. the same sheer brilliance in the descriptive writing. now when i think about it the writing in this book is hopeless. it is like fan fiction gone bad. there is no trace of the original stephenie meyer in here anywhere! no trace of the old Edward that we fell in love with or the young naive Bella that was so perfect for him. once i got to the last 200 hundred pages or so i really struggled. all the buildup for a fight that didnt happen.
god i cant even describe my frustration at how badly this book was written. i am a writer myself and i understand that sometimes it hard to pull brilliant stuff out. but surely her editors read this and the publishers and noticed that this book was no where near as good as the original stuff. surely they should have forgotten their deadline in order to be able to get stephenie to produce better matieral. i absolutely fell in love with edward in this series and probably, pathetically, the thing that i missed most about this series was how he was in twilight. now dont get me started on the ridiculousness of the pregnancy and renesmee (!!!!!!!) and another thing. not to sound pervy or anything. but i expected a little more from the first sex scene with bella and edward. over all, im disappointed. i really thought this book would take over how much i love harry potter but alas, harry remains on top. but i do like this series. i think im just going to pretend that breaking dawn was never written. "Breaking Dawn" along with its predecessors is nothing short of a breath of fresh air. I couldn't have expected anything more from the last installment of the "Twilight" series. It was everything I could have asked for and then some. Stephenie is a true Genius. it takes a lot for me to get interested in a book. But with the entire series of "Twilight" I was utterly enthralled into the pages and creating the most amazing images with stephenie's literary genius. "Breaking Dawn" definitely lived up to my expectations and blew my mind. I just wish it wasn't over. I truly hope that Stephanie continues with the follow up of "midnight sun" I would love to see Edwards perspective. "Breaking Dawn" is by far my favorite in the series but I love them all. Everything is wrapped up nicely in the final book.
thank you Stephenie Meyer, you are an artist and a dream maker. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-09-03 07:17:36 EST)

This is a GREAT book to read while you are trying to diet. I read all four novels in a row. They were captivating and I never wanted to put them down. As a writer Mrs. Meyers knows how to keep you feeling as though you can see, hear and touch everything in the story, as if you were standing right there with them. I read to enter into the world of the characters, not to compare it to real life and I like happy endings, so after the ups and downs, it leaves me with a pleasant experience and makes me want to read her next novel. I most like the fact that Bella was never hungry in the beginning and Edward didn't eat because he was a vampire, so that killed my appetite, also there was so much "vampire blood talk" that my appetite didn't come back for two days after the last page. I lost almost 10 lbs in the process. Thank you for sharing your fantasy with us. Regards, Sue

Man, there is not much I can say about this novel, without giving anything away. [My wife is reading this saga as well, and I have had to bite my tongue in order not to say anything to her about any part of the story ¡V it¡¦s been hard!] º
There was one part in the story where I wasn¡¦t sure exactly what was going on, and I realized it at the exact same time as the main character ¡V that is how awesome Stephenie¡¦s writing is! º Another thing that I absolutely loved was the clarification that the ¡§werewolves¡¨ that we¡¦ve known all along are not ¡§traditional¡¨ werewolves ¡V rather they are shape-shifters (which is how I referred to them in my review of New Moon) Stephenie did hint of the true werewolves, known in her universe as the Children of the Moon [dare we hope for a future werewolf novel?!? That would be Awesome!] Of the Entire Saga, Eclipse is probably still my favorite one, though this book had a good ending to the Saga as well. Now, Stephenie has stated that this is the end of the Saga - from Bella¡¦s Perspective! ¡V She has not stated that she will never return to the Cullen Universe ¡V in fact, she is already working another novel ¡V Midnight Sun, I believe it¡¦s called, which is basically going to be Twilight from Edward¡¦s perspective, rather than Bella¡¦s ¡V Very Interesting Idea!! I know that I am looking forward to any future novel that Stephenie writes!! (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-09-03 07:17:36 EST)

I enjoyed the whole series, but I really enjoyed this book. Bella finally becomes the woman she started out to be in the first book. Definitly worth reading. NOT FOR ANYONE UNDER 16! Parent should read it first to make sure there kid is ready for this type of book.

I found Breaking Dawn to be a perfect ending to a perfect love story. I read the whole series within a week. I could not put the books down even though my eyes were dry and blurry. I had to keep running back and forth to the bookstore to get the next book. I absolutely fell in love with Edward and Bella and am sad to see the story end. However, I am so glad to have a happy ending and would not change anything except...perhaps..a little more details of the honeymoon.

Although this was my least favorite book of the series, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was not as suspenseful as the others, but it did end with a sense of completion to the story. She writes with a very descriptive, gripping writing style that flows smoothly. I plan to read it again.

This book is the best yet in the series. It is one that you won't be able to put down until you are finished.

The storytelling in Breaking Dawn is excellent. Stephenie Meyer has a rare gift for knowing her characters and allowing them to be true to themselves. Bella's story ended the way I hoped it would, unfolding in a logical way from its beginning. It is a good book; people should read it through (perhaps after rereading the first three, to catch all of the threads) before passing judgment.

When I first got into the Twilight series a while back, I enjoyed it a good bit. The writing and plot certainly wasn't fine literature, but I just enjoyed it simply for what it was, not expecting anything more or less. But with the fourth and final book in the series, it seems that it's Stephenie Meyer who lowered her expectations. Of her own writing.
When I first started reading some of the spoilers circulating about the book, I just had to laugh. Surely Meyer couldn't sink that low with the quality of her storytelling! But when I finally got my hands on the book (blessedly not purchasing it myself), I was completely shocked. All the events that I'd read online and had laughed about as completely ludicrous were absolutely 100% true. In the first three books, Bella hadn't always been the best role model, but she at least wasn't the Britney Spears or Paris Hilton of the books. With the fourth installment of the books, however, all of that is reversed. Bella becomes reduced to a simpering, sex-crazed whiner, going so far as to CRY and BEG Edward for sex after she wakes up from an erotic dream after he refuses to engage in intimate behavior with her anymore for fear of hurting her. Edward, of course, gives in, sending a message to it's readers: girls, sex is the most important thing in a relationship, something worth tearing yourself up over, and if you don't get something you want, cry, beg, and plead until you get it. One of the pluses of the series has always been how easily relateable a character Bella is, and how easy the reader can put themselves into her shoes. This rare positive is completely lost, however, once Bella finds out (through a "miraculaous" happening that goes against previous back story Meyer had established) she's pregnant. A YOUNG GIRL who had never even thought once of having children throughout the rest of the series is suddenly gunning to be mother of the year, even when the unborn child LITERALLY starts killing her. Not only does this completely remove any way the reader can relate to Bella, it goes against everything established about her character. I won't even begin to go into the grotesque descriptions of Bella's pregnancy and childbirth, which aren't so much horror-filled as just horrifically-written. One of the other things I found most disappointing in the book, however, was the simple fact that NO ONE has to make sacrifices. Nothing is given up, nothing is truly gained, no one learns something or becomes a stronger person because of it, and EVERYONE ends up with their own tailor-made happy ending. It seems almost as if Meyer was trying to please everyone by making sure every character ended up in the best way possible, which backfired horrifically. For example, Jacob, who has spent the entire series pining after Bella, suddenly finds that he's imprinted upon Bella's child (the tragically named Renesmee). Even if I didn't find this mildly disturbing (hey, if you can't be with the mother, her child's the next best thing, right?), it's still more than terribly clichéd. It looks like Meyer was just trying to find a way to keep Jacob's rabid fans happy by providing him with a love interest, while still keeping him firmly rooted in Bella's life. I could go on more about the numerous faults found in the book, but that would take up far more space than I believe I have, and more time than I'd care to waste. In short, this honestly isn't worth the read, and there's no force on Earth that could make me have personally paid for this book. If I had bought it, I'd honestly be returning it for a full refund. The writing, plot, and characterization are horribly contradictory and contrived, and the only message that can be taken away from this novel is one I certainly wouldn't want my daughter to be learning. Meyer needs to stop complaining about the complaints, saying "you can't please everyone, someone's always going to be unhappy with what you end up doing." If she would only own up the the fact that she apparently copped out of doing her job properly, that this thing she's written is sub-par writing at it's finest, I might have an easier time accepting this farce as what it is. This wasn't my favorite of the Twilight Saga, but I am happy that I have closure. I can now sleep at night. I didn't really like reading from Jacob's perspective and I thought the imprinting and pregnancy thing was a little weird. I also prefer Bella as her accident-prone self instead of the super strong Bella.
Before this book was released I went back and forth with the idea of Bella being turned. I was for it, then against it. The way the author wrote it, there was no other choice but to turn her. I am happy that she got to experience all things human that she wanted. This wasn't nearly as good as the first three, but I gave it four stars for a happily ever forever. This fourth installment of what has become known as the "Twilight" series is a must-read for anyone who has found themselves sleeplessly reading the first three novels in the course of a very late night. The 700+ page book is as addicting as the first book by Stephanie Meyer, if not more so. The outcome could not have been better for Edward, for Jacob, and, of course, for Bella. Theirs is a completely intertwined love that will last beyond the end of time. It makes me want to be a vampire!

Breaking Dawn was a better than average closing to a phenomenal series. I have always been a true fan of the vampire novel, and I feel that Stephenie Meyer has really found her place within the supernatural realm. Breaking Dawn was not all that fans may have wanted, nor was it a horribly written drawn out conclusion that kills off half the characters (cough Harry Potter cough).
~Spoiler Warning~ I completely agree with other reviews when saying that Meyer could have done better. What I always loved about the series was that Bella was an average girl who was insecure and, more often than not, made mistakes. Unfortunately, Breaking Dawn ruined this aspect of the series for me. Renesmee did not send me over the edge, like many reviewers, although I cringed when Jacob imprinted on her. I thought that went way overboard and I just couldn't appreciate the book completely after that. I'm glad that Edward was more prevalent in this book. I found the entire context of Eclipse lacking when he left Bella high and dry. And truly the ending left something to be desired. I'm sorry, but the anticlimactic atmosphere was so palpable that I could have cut it with a butter knife (excuse my overused analogy). ~End Spoiler Warning~ Despite all this, I found myself enthralled with the relationships as they unfolded. The back and forth, up and down at least kept me involved with the book. And although I believe Meyer tried much too hard to make this book the all encompassing end, it was satisfying in some ways to finally see a close to one of my favorite series. This book is a must read for all enthusiasts, but do not be surprised if, by the end of it, you feel cheated of what could have been an epic ending to a favorite romance. 'Breaking Dawn', by far the most bizarre, in the 'Twilight' Series, served as a light at the end of the tunnel for the saga. Nail biting drama and surprises await behind every page. This group of stories is probably one of the most imaginative series I've ever had the pleasure of reading. Thank you Stephanie Meyer!

Come On Really..
The first three books were incredible and stayed true to the whole atmosphere of Twilight. This book just takes all of the magic and absolute love that I have for this series away. It saddens me that Stephenie had to try to end everything neatly, but as everyone else says, was a horrendous fanfiction. The pregnancy, imprint on baby, overdramatic dialogue, and characters acting out of character is not the way this great series was supposed to end. Yes, there are parts that make me smile, but everything else is wrong. Times when I wonder what happened??? (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-09-03 01:07:18 EST)

The end of the series has a happily ever after feel, which for vampires is the best that they can hope for. At first I was disappointed that there wasn't a big battle between two sides, but realized that one of the books ideas is that we don't have to do what is expected.
I enjoyed reading the book, and the series, and especially had fun looking for Mormon influences in Ms Meyers writing. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-09-01 10:04:05 EST)
