Normally I don't post reviews for books, but I wanted to for this one. I found myself with tears rolling down my face in several parts of this book. I have read the Redemption Series and all the previous books in the Firstborn Series but this is definitely my favorite so far. I always keep these books coming and reserve the next 1 or 2 from the library as I'm reading each book, so I don't have to go too long between them. I, too, think this series would make a great movie, and often find myself thinking of actors/actresses to play each part.
I've read several of Karen's other books and I don't plan to stop until I've read them all. (Review Data Last Updated: 2008-11-28 07:37:07 EST)

Anyone who has ever read any of Karens books knows that there is no other writer in this day and age that hits every emotion that we all go through in this life, in our own search for why we are here, who we are, and the battles that can and do happen in this life.
The number one moral is that Gods Love and our love for others is the strength to keep us all carrying on in this journey in life. There is hope in all of her books. It is such a "blessing" to read a book, that everyone whether a believer or not in God who touches our lives in everyday situations with family and friends. There is not one of her books that I have ever been disappointed in. Once you read one of her books you will be "hooked" and can't wait to read the next one. A friend got me started on Karen's books. Now I have read almost all of her books. When I start one, I find it very hard to put it down - I just want to keep reading to the end. All the books in this series and her other series' are great. I can't wait to find out what will happen to the Baxter family next.

This book is awesome! Like the other books in Karen Kingsbury's series about the Baxter family and friends, this book refreshes your soul and leaves you feeling that you can't wait for the the next one! So far, I have read the Redemption series and the Firstborn series, and I'm hoping to start "Sunrise" this weekend. I think "Forever" may very well be my favorite so far. I have already read it several times, finding something new to think about each time. It is a wonderful read on its own, but is even better if you've had the additional perspective that comes from having read the books that came before in both the Redemption series and the Firstborn series.

This book was the last in this series. It was incredible. I was fortunate to discover Karen Kingsbury at a time where I could read this series of books back to back and didn't have to wait for #5 to be released.
Now I find out that the Baker Family novels will be continued in another series of books. YEAH! I love Karen Kingsbury. Her novels are full of God's word and truth. Her stories mirror real life situations. We can all relate to these family love stories as well as family tragedies. The Bakers are now a permanent part of my family. I love they way this one ended and can't wait to read more. 5 ***** for this book (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-06-09 14:17:08 EST)

From the first Karen Kingsbury Book (Tuesday Morning)I knew I would really enjoy this author. I've read her Redemption Series and now have completed the Firstborn Series. This book was very good because it brought all the characters together throughout the book. I enjoyed how Katie stood by her man throughout his ordeal in this book (don't want to give anything away!), how the CKT Kids and family and friends of Dayne and Katie came together in a big way to help them. I also liked how Karen weaved in realization and healing for Ashley in her dealings with her father's friend and with Luke and his feelings about Dayne. Karen also focuses on Bailey Flanigan and her family. I'm sure that is because of her Sunrise Series that is a spin off of the Firstborn Series. I can't wait to read those. I have A LOT more of Karen's books to read and I look forward to it. Happy Reading!

Karen Kingsbury is one of my favorite Christian authors. She makes one feel they are a part of what is taking place in the book. I became so well acquainted with the Baxter family I really did not want the series to end.
When I read that Karen Kingsbury feels the same way and is going to begin another series with these characters I was as pleased as if I had been given a gift. To date, I've read everything Karen Kibgsbury has written. I find her books to be every bit as interesting as books written by Francine Rivers. (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-05-13 23:52:27 EST)

You must read all five books of this series to truly appreciate the Baxter family saga. Karen Kingsbury is an excellent Christian writer and her books are inspiring. They deal with things that are experienced by everyone. "Forever" is a fitting climax to the Firstborn series. (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-04-15 06:36:48 EST)

Dayne Matthews' star is on the rise. He is on the Hollywood A list, has found his birth family, is engaged to the love of his life, and most importantly, is saved and knows Christ. Then, in a scene that echoes Princess Diana's death, Dayne is in a car wreck that leaves him in a coma. His new found family and fiancee wait and pray, but the challenges ahead do not end when he wakes up, they only begin.
**** This story feels very real. While all the characters are Christian, none of them are white-bread, cardboard, overly pious bits of fluff that are too Pollyanna-ish to be believed. Each of them faces temptations, whether it is lust, anger, unforgiveness, or waning faith. I wish more writers had Ms. Kingsbury's honesty about the life of faith. Her skill is such that even if you have missed the other books in the series, you can follow the plot of this one easily. She is a treasure for Christian readers. **** (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-04-15 06:36:48 EST)

K. Kingsbury is a genius in her ability to bring us real life changing fiction. Forever makes you look at your relationships with an eye that goes beyond your own needs and puts those of your friends and love ones first! The characters are the people in your own circle of family and friends. Maybe not in job type but in heart and character. Learning how to apply biblical principals to the here and now of living life.
I recommend both the "Redemption" and the "Firstborn" series to anyone who wants to learn to trust Jesus more for the everyday things of life! (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-04-10 18:56:43 EST)

I enjoy Mrs. Kingsbury's books very much. But I think she must have been watching an old Walton's TV show when she wrote the ending of this book. It was just a bit too much with all the town coming out to finish the house for Mathews and Katy. I wanted Karen to focus on one of the subplots about John and Elaine. Two people who lost their spouses after being married for 35 years and how they cope with finding love again.Maybe the guilt of being able to love again after being happily married. Now that is a story. How the children oppose it but the g/children are open to it.

This is the last book I will attempt to read in this series. I previously stated on my last book review that the series was becoming repetitive and I felt the author was attempting to drag out the story line to fill a certain amount of books due her contract. I could not even read this entire book. I am just happy that I did not purchase this as I have done so in the past. This series has become a soap opera with a occasional Amen. I feel this author has fallen from her graces that her previous books had provided. I would not recommend to anyone.

I have to admit that I had my doubts when I bought this book... the last couple of books in this series were quite repetitive and more of the same. But I was beautifully surprised with Forever because it is really one of those books that you cannot put down even though you know how it is going to end. The dialogues between Dayne and Katy are so sweet and romantic that you will always be wishing for more. And we will get more about them in the new series "Sunrise", which I cannot wait to read!
But, as in the other books in the Firstborn Series, Forever is not only about Dayne and Katy. Forever is also about Luke and his struggles with himself now that he has a brother. I particularly liked this part of the story because what happens with Luke can be applied to many situations and provided me with things to think about in my own life. Again Kingsbury has created an inspirational story based on faith and love that is not only romantic, but also moving and motivating. It is definitely a must read! Karen's books are addictive. I see a new one, and need to order it, and once they arrive I cannot rest until I complete it. In the Baxter family's tragedies, Karen's writing skillfully kept my eyes on the Lord and His gracious promises. The Baxter family became friends and Karen allowed me to become involved in the lives of her characters and I found myself drawn to pray for them. Thank you, Lord, for the beautiful writing gift given to Karen for the benefit of her readers.

I felt that the Firstborn series was not as strong a work as some of Karen's other books and series. However, I am a huge Karen Kingsbury fan and do feel it's worth reading, as it is a continuation of a previous series (that I couldn't put down). I'm just a reader - so I don't know if I'm right - but if her editors are pushing her to write faster, they need to back off and let her do her thing!

In Bloomington, Indiana, Katy Hart and renowned actor Dayne Matthews plan for their wedding and his subsequent move from Hollywood to the Midwest. Though he is filming a movie, he flies to Bloomington on weekends to see Katy. After sharing breakfast with his costar Randy Wells they leave in separate cars, but the Paparazzi chase them causing a ricochet effect that leads to Dayne severely hurt in a life and death coma.
Katy flies to his side in California while the Baxters pray for a miracle that their oldest recover as he has just been returned to them. That is all the Baxters except Luke who as a legal assistant in New York detests the newly found and famous older brother as he has believes he has lost his standing with his siblings and his widower father. Though the Luke subplot seems off in spite of his resentment ringing true, Karen Kingsbury fifth Baxter Firstborn family drama is a wonderful contemporary tale. The cast is strong as the family embraces the Lord praying for a miracle. Though newcomers need to read the previous novels (see FAME, FORGIVEN, FOUND and FAMILY) to fully understand the interrelation dynamics, FOREVER is an inspiring conclusion to a strong saga. Karen Kingsbury got to me. I didn't think she would especially since "Forever" is number 5 in the Firstborn series and number 10 involving the same family. I thought I'd sail through without tears. I didn't know any of the characters, have never cried with them or cheered them on. Not only was I able to follow the story and pick up missing pieces of information, I began to care about Dayne and Katie and the family. Then it happend. First I developed a lump in my throat, then my eyes misted. I blinked, but by that time I couldn't put the book down. I'd been sucked in. If you've followed the Firstborn series, you are going to want to read "Forever." And if you love books that draw out strong emotional responses you might want to start chewing on the first four books so you're ready for "Forever" and make sure you have tissues. I've read reviews that call Karen's books "predictable" and I think that's wrong. Each of Karen's books is imbued with a message that is strong and touching. The importance of forgiveness and serving each other is illustrated beautifully in this book.
Read it but read the first four first. (Review Data Last Updated: 2007-03-08 01:28:18 EST)

Karen Kingsbury is a truly gifted writer. This book includes every scene we have been waiting to read. Katy and Dayne struggle to stay together, after he is injured in a car accident. Luke struggles with his place in the Baxter family after his famous brother seems to get all the attention. Ashley throughtout it all, loving both her brother and the rest of her wonderful family. Forever is a wonderful end to the Firstborn series. However, it leaves you anxious for the release of Sunrise (another Baxter family series) in May.
