Do You Want to Know Everything?

The highly anticipated memoir from the star of the hit series Lisa Williams: Life Among the Dead

When Lisa Williams was four years old, she told her parents about the spirits in her bedroom. Since those first sightings, Lisa has seen and communicated with thousands of people who have passed over, listening to their stories and delivering messages of comfort to the loved ones they left behind.

In Life Among the Dead, Lisa invitesreaders into her extraordinary life, from her childhood in Birmingham, England, where her grandmother -- also a renowned psychic -- encouraged her to respect and nurture her talent, to her decision to move to Los Angeles, where her smash-hit Lifetime television show quickly made her one of the world's most beloved mediums. Lisa shares memories of her earliest psychic experiences and her gradual acceptance of her gift, and recalls many of the amazingly accurate communications she has shared with believersand skeptics alike. In her compassionate, down-to-earth style, she reveals exactly what it's like to live surrounded by spirits every day, and she recounts the joy she feels in bringing solace to those who have lost someone dear and the insights she has gleaned about spiritual phenomena, hauntings, psychic healing, and the afterlife.

Warm, witty, and surprising, Life Among the Dead is a wonderfully intimate account of Lisa's life as a medium, healer, wife, mom, and TV star who has already won the hearts of millions,a woman with an astonishing gift for seeing beyond the ordinary and into a mysterious and fascinating realm.

This book proves beyond a doubt that Lisa Williams is the "real deal". In her trademark personal tone that makes you feel like you know her, Lisa recalls her abilities coming to the fore during her childhood. She has found a unique way to use her gift to help others - amazing! If I were a TV programming exec, I'd create a format for Lisa to showcase her innate talent. Merv Griffin was way ahead of the curve on this one!

After reading this book and then seeing Lisa in Nashville on July 19th (and finding out yesterday that no one other than country-music legend Johnny Cash came through at that event, held at the Ryman Auditorium where he and June Carter Cash, who also came through that night along with his first wife, had performed countless times- his daughter was in the audience and got read, but no one there at that time, including Lisa, knew who they were during the reading!!!), I can say that Lisa is the real thing when it comes to psychic mediums. She is such a bright light, full of love and healing for those with open minds and hearts, I highly recommend this book, her website, and most certainly seeing her in person. My husband and I drove 3 hours to see her, and he WAS a skeptic- until his mother, her mother and his two great-aunts came through. Plus, he is a HUGE Johnny Cash fan, and I couldn't wait to tell him what I had learned from reading Lisa's blog, that she found out what family she had been reading for after the show, during the book-signing meet-and-hug. She was oblivious as the rest of us during the reading and was truly star-struck to find out what a legend had honored us with his presence that night. I just love her and want to assure the rest of you out there who hold Lisa dear that she said another tv show is on the way, a "daily show", network and details to be announced (watch her website!!!).

Now, get the book and find out for yourself. Enjoy reading with an open mind and open heart and life just might hold some surprise gifts for you, too! Blessings, SS

This book is a classic autobiography novel filled with stories and experiences from Lisa's life. It will defiantly help you understand responsibility and the challenges that medium has to endure with having and accepting `the gift of sight.' Lisa Williams is good at what she does, and that is communication with the spiritual world. Her purpose is to connect, but not to study. Do not expect to learn what happens with people when they shed their physical bodies, or how such communication will affect a regular person. Just enjoy the story!

This is a wonderful book, I really enjoyed it. It reads like a novel and there is even a wonderful romance in it. It is not about the spiritual realm but about the life of this remarkable woman.

Her insight into her gift and the effect unseen forces have upon us is captivating. I like her spunk and I agree with most of her beliefs. I read the book and do feel that it will have a positive affect on whosoever reads it. If they read it with an open mind.

Whatever Lisa does in this life surely we are blessed to have her input into the spirit realm. I truly wish to see my loved ones again and to find that in the darkest place I was never alone. As a christian I have no trouble believing that God uses many people and ways to reveal Himself.

A very good read.

I'd seen Lisa Williams on her Lifetime show a few times last season and was curious to learn more about life on the other side. Lisa's book is written as an autobiography of her life and experiences as a medium. Through her fascinating accounts, you capture glimpses of life beyond. It satisfied a lot of questions I had, and piqued my interest to learn more. I just bought tickets to go see her live in Atlanta!

(Hide Review...)  Experienced a Reading by Lisa Williams
Reviewer Permalink
Lisa Williams is a beautiful, engaging and entertaining human being. I had an extraordinary reading by her. Here are the details: I had been to two of psychic John Edward's events. At both events, some of the very same information came through about my daughter's deceased father. However, I did not connect with the information quickly enough so that it was validated thoroughly. I always felt that I needed to acknowledge Rick's messages, and it was finally through Lisa, that I was able to do that. Information 1. The first piece of information that came through which was significant, at both John Edward's events and Lisa's, was that a male had died under questionable circumstances, of a gunshot wound to the head. The crime was perpetrated in an execution, or "military" type of shooting.

Though originally listed as a homicide, the Chicago Police Dept. refused
to respond to my FOI (Freedom of Information Act Inquiry) and provide
the homicide file. Instead, because they never solved the case, they
relegated the matter as a "suicide."

I wrote a book for my daughter, who was just 18 months old when he died (Russell Square Park).

2. The next information, which was critical, and, again, came through at
the other events and now yours, was that he had a severe limp, pain in
his head and jaw. But once I acknowledged that, even more information
came through:

3. He was saying that he didn't run fast enough, and that very well was
him trying to run from the el train that ran over him at the age of 16
(prior to his death, which was the cause of the physical pain that he
lived with). He was not expected to live. His girlfriend at the time
was killed. As a result of the accident, he had a metal plate in his
head and in his leg, causing the limp. His jaw was also a near-constant
source of pain for him.

4. He suffered from depression, and at the time, little was known of
depression. But from what I know now, he did indeed suffer from
depression.

5. Many other details, such as how well I knew him, how close we were,
etc., were all exactly on point. His proclamation of "I did it my way,"
was exactly the sort of thing that he would say.

6. My mother also came through, who had died of cancer. She sent a birthday message to me - and Lisa recited my exact birthday! We were very close. I was the eldest of 5 and regularly cared for my siblings. When she sent the message through you that I should not feel guilty about not being around at the very end of her life, it was exactly what I'd always felt sorry about. But she validated how I tried to help her as the oldest, not to be a burden on her, but an asset. It was comforting to hear her message, and just the sort of thing that she would say. She was an amazing woman, way ahead of her time, and just 49 years old.

7. My stepfather was the "strong, silent type" that came through. It
would be just like him to say that he was the awful one, and my mother
was the good one. He had a lot of good qualities, but their
relationship became very strained through the years, as she outgrew him,
despite the fact that he was many years her senior. She had embraced
spirituality, which he did not understand, and seemed to have no
interest in.

It is very comforting to know that Rick did not commit suicide. I knew
that he would come through and clarify that, especially since it has
been on my mind for so long.

When I was researching the book I was writing for my daughter, it was
heartbreaking to include that information - the possibility that he may
have taken his own life.

Watch for Lisa with a new television, which we understand is in development.

She is very hands-on - so if you have the opportunity to go to one of her events, it is highly recommended. Here is a book that I wrote on the father of my daughter, who "showed up" at the gallery reading:

I thought I would spend a lazy Memorial weekend, but I couldn't let this request for a review go unanswered.Lisa Williams is the most amazing psychic I ever read about. I am kind of psychic myself, so I can really appreciate, and also believe what she tells about herself. I wish everyone would read this book including my family so they would stop thinking I am some kind of a screwball. This is not an easy gift to be burdened with, but Lisa seems to be handling it. Merv Griffin thought so highly of her that he built a show around her. If all you people who are so scared of dying, you might look forward to it, if you understood more about it. Another thing, try to be a good, and loving person in this lifetime, so you will have good karma . Try and get it right this time around. Hope I see you with the angels.

I was so excited about this book being released but after I read it I felt like it focused more about her life with only just bit's here and there about her wonderful gift. I was hoping she would give advice on how to achive this gift as well as how spirits look to her and how she see's them. This book is just a simple Biograhphy about her life. I would have expected more but you know what, It's Lisa Williams and she is fabulous so I did enjoy the book otherwise.

(Hide Review...)  A Remarkable Autobiography, Warm, Sincere and Strange

I became of aware of Lisa Williams when she appeared on Lifetime. The concept that there is "life" or "existence" after "death" as we know it, is a hard one to grasp. Yet, after watching Lisa work on her television program, I have come to believe that there is a larger world than the concrete one we see around us. On both her television show and in her book, Lisa comes across as warm, sincere, genuine and caring. This is a very personal autobiography of a woman who in most respect is like anyone else, except she has true "psychic" abilities that enable her to communicate with the spirits of those who have passed and to at times know things about the future. Lisa chronicles how strange and "witcy" her psychic abilities seemed to her as she became aware of them, and how, this "gift" came to be her life's work. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Lisa's story and connecting to her positive personality through reading her words. It still doesn't make any sense to me how she can know the things she does, but I have watched her in action, and I believe. I hope she will continue to use her insights and abilities for good purposes, and I hope she will be back on television soon.

I was hoping from the title that there would be more specific information about what the spirits actually do when they pass over. Like, what is a typical day in the life of a spirit? This I didn't get, it was more of the same--messages from the dead. I would like to know more about their lives, what are they actually experiencing? Maybe we just can't understand, but I would like to know what to expect when I die.

I am one of Lisa's biggest fans & can't get enough of her! I ordered the book and recieve two by mistake, instead of sending it back I passed it on to a friend whom I was sure would love it too. I could not put the book down once I started it and I do mean I finished it the day I started it. The honesty was so refreshing Lisa didn't "white wash" her life when she hit her "rough spots". This to her credit makes her even more facinating. I am hoping one day to have a reading with her as I too have had experiences most don't believe but I always have. Learning and reading more about Lisa gives me confidence to believe even more as I do. I hope she one day has more than just a seasonal spot on TV. After all Merv believed in Lisa isn't he the true test? He knows true talent when he sees it and exposes fraud when he sees it. He definately gave her complete approval. If more people LISTENED to Lisa and opened their minds they may see and feel what she does. Lisa Williams is the Greatest.

With so many New Age authors boasting about their enlightenment and publishing tomes about their wonderful and miraculous lives, it is so refreshing to find this book.

There are some people who radiate sincerity and warmth. If you have ever seen Lisa Williams on Lifetime you probably agree that she is one of those special souls. Her small book is not the boastful biography of a superstar psychic. It is the story of a gregarious young girl's path to womanhood; a journey plagued by the same problems and insecurities that many women encounter. It is also the story of the gift she inherited from her beloved grandmother.

The only part of the book that seemed to be lacking was the section where she speaks about her relationship with Merv Griffin. He was instrumental in promoting her talents and she talks candidly about the fact that at first she did not even know who he was. She then goes on to speak briefly about what appears to have been a friendship between them. Certainly he would have sought out her talents in his last days and it would have been interesting to know more about how she helped him come to terms with his death. At the same time you have to admire her for respecting his privacy. Many people would have sensationalized their role in his very private life. You get the feeling that she isn't someone who needs a great deal of money or would value a lucretive revelation above someone's feelings. She even passes on messages from spirits on her website for free. I'll venture to say that Lisa Williams is more than a former Lifetime TV personality. She is the genuine article, a psychic who respects people and wants to dedicate her life to helping them.

Having only just very recently seen Lisa Williams a couple of times on TV, I was absolutely blown away by the accuracy of her readings. I have been a bit unsure what to believe about psychics. I've seen psychics giving rather inaccurate readings and not been convinced at all. That is until I switched on the telly one day and "accidentally" saw Lisa giving readings on the program "Life Among The Dead". Her book came out just after. I decided to order it. It arrived on a Friday, in fact two of the same book arrived. I had accidentally ordered two books instead of one. As Lisa says, there are no coincidences.

When I started to read the book I could hardly put it down. I finished it on the Sunday morning (a day and a bit later). By the time I got to the last page I had tears in my eyes I was so moved. Lisa may be young but she has the wisdom of an old soul...

This is a beautiful book written by Lisa in a warm and friendly manner. She is natural and has a great sense of humour. I felt as if I was an old friend of Lisa's and she was telling me an exciting story that is full of life and death (as if there is such a thing as death).

This is also the story of a young woman starting out her life living a not-self life. Through trial and error, and through many incredibly painful experiences she gradually comes to realise why she really came to this planet. Once she starts to live her life authentically her "luck" turns as if by magic. That is how The Power of Intention and The Law Of Attraction works. She has a lot of guts and she also has some wonderful spirit guides to help her.

I was a bit dissapointed when the book came to an end, and I wanted to read more of her story. I hope she will write a follow up. I highly recommend this book.

Fans of Lisa Williams, sit up and take note: this book is a must-have. And it goes without saying that the fiercely loyal folk who clamor for tickets to her sold-out appearances have already pre-ordered this book and are, as I type, curled up reading about their favorite medium and clairvoyant.

And well they should. This is a wonderful autobiography of a path that is only partway traveled. Lisa Williams reveals to us tales from her early life, her awakening to Spirit, and the start of her career as a professional medium. But it is much more.

It is also a testament to the pluck and courage of a single mother who at one low point had literally no money and was days from being on the street. And how, by listening to her heart, and summoning courage, she moved from that desperate moment to a life of love and security, and a vocation of healing other people from their own life traumas. In spite of health challenges, a near death experience, and the fears that we all face, Lisa has already accomplished more than many of us ever will in one life. And she is really only just getting started! Within a matter of a few years she moved from begging her mum for money to meet basic needs, to being driven to Merv Griffin's yacht to discuss a television show concept.

Lisa's story is a perfect illustration of the Laws of Attraction and Power of Intention that is being so intriguingly discussed in popular culture via media such as The Secret, What the Bleep Do We Know Anyway, and the Louise Hay classic: You Can Heal Your Life.

One of the things I particularly like about this book is Lisa's candid description of her own self doubt as she explored and grew in her mediumistic ability. I think any clairvoyant will identify and be comforted by reading of Lisa's faltering starts at reading; faltering because she was uncertain of herself, not because the data was faulty!

Full of anecdotes and photos, the book is a delightful read. I inhaled it in one long gulp this weekend. I adore this lady, and have found her to be not only irrepressible, but an inspiration. Go Lisa, go!

I have missed seeing Lisa Williams on TV lately, and so was delighted to come across "Life Among the Dead" in print! I picked it up yesterday and inhaled it in one sitting. An interesting and easy read, Lisa's endearing, plucky personality comes right through in her prose.

The reader gets a look at Williams' life from early girlhood, when spirits first started appearing to her, through her attempts to ignore her gifts in her early youth, to her struggles to find her spiritual path and true love while juggling single motherhood as a young adult, and finally the acceptance and development of her talents which led to fame through her popular television show.

Though the book contains many anecdotal examples of Lisa's paranormal experiences, the purpose here is largely autobiographical (there is a very small section on the last page where she discusses her beliefs about life after death). At one point Williams hints at the prospect of transcribing the work she has done in helping some protégés develop their spiritual gifts; I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she will publish something along those lines in the near future!

In a nutshell, if you are interested in an entertaining glimpse into the life of this talented medium, you'll be very happy with this autobiography. If you are also interested in Williams' guidance and perspectives on the subject of parapsychology as a whole, you will have to wait until she (please!!!) writes the next one. In the meantime, enjoy this fascinating glimpse into the life of an amazing woman.

I, like all her fans, watched Lisa from her first TV program. I signed the petition on her website to bring her back on screen. I believe she lost the program due to Merv Griffin's death because he was her champion and had pull with the station. The book was a surprize. I didn't realize she had crammed so much into her 35 years of life on this earth. I didn't realize she had so many of her own problems or, mostly, that she is so talented in other areas; i.e., singing, dancing, etc. She is a multi-faceted individual and the book revealed all and made me like her even more. I really miss her enthusiasm, happy smile and insightful program. Maybe we'll see her on another channel who appreciates her abilities. Good read and I would recommend it to all.

Sweet biography of the equally as sweet Lisa Williams. A journey into the world that produced by far one of the most imprwessive Psychics the world has ever seen. Easy read and enjoyable.

This is a must read book for everyone! This woman is the real deal of psychics, who inspires people and provides closure for them in time of need. I would love to meet this woman someday and talk with her. Never have I been more convinced that this woman is not one of the false prophets that they speak of in the bible. A real breath of fresh air!!!!!

One of my dear friends told me to turn on the TV to see someone amazing, and it turned out to be Lisa Williams. She had a show on the Lifetime Channel that featured her giving readings for people who wanted to contact spirit - and also she did 'housecalls' to homes with spirit activity. It was fascinating as it not only showed us how sessions were done, but let us into Lisa's life.
The 3rd season was not picked up by Lifetime. And that is a shame -
Lisa Williams wrote her biography, Life Among the Dead, and it is a refreshing look at the woman behind the metaphysical person. She gives a frank detailed look at her life, and how her gift was cultivated. Her grandmother was a famous psychic/medium, and she certainly inherited that gift.
It also goes into detail how she and her family came to America. Merv Griffin, who was a spiritual man, was instrumental in the show. Her validation to Griffin that she was the real deal was amazing.
Ms. Williams also does Reiki healing and her healings have been verified in her book. I also am familiar with Reiki and am glad she put this information in the book. There is little of the 'teaching' aspect in this book. Sometimes when you read something authored by a psychic/medium, they include little tidbits on how to meditate, or some insight into the metaphysical. While Ms. Williams does show us the various spiritual happenings, the only mention of 'the Other Side' is at the end, and that is an explanation of what happens when we 'cross over'. Whether or not you agree with her interpretation, if you are interested in expanding your knowledge, you will probably greatly enjoy this book.
One hopes that Ms. Williams will continue her path on the metaphysical. She is delightful and a gifted lady.
You will enjoy this book.
I'm sure Merv Griffin is proud.

I've only been able to read the first preview chapter on her blog but I love the awakening of her talents in being able to communicate with the spirit world and how she's not really sure if that's a good thing or not! This is something that any child who has inherited gifts or talents in a specific area, like musical talent, can relate to - do I follow in their footsteps or choose a different path. In this instance however, the ramifications and gifts are so unique and strong that it's not clear she could have chosen another path - I just don't think the spirits would leave her alone!
